An old fashioned smelling rose, but in a rather elegant way. __UPDATE__ So, I've had this 10 ml sample in my collection and I've been finding myself reaching for it again and again. I wear it almost as often as my signature scent. It has a vintage, elegant, feminine feel that makes me like a leading lady in a black and white film. The rose itself is sweet, which I would normally find offputting, but it somehow works here. Even my husband who can't stand sweet scents enjoys this and sniffs the air with an approving sigh when I spray myself in the bedroom. There are days that it seems too sweet for me and I choose something else. I do not at all understand people who complain about the longevity and silage of this. It's one of my top two in terms of each. I have gotten 14+ hours on my skin where I still get noticeable whiffs of it as I move through my day. I agree that this could be a formal scent, but I enjoy the vintage sophistication for everyday as well. It would be great for an evening bride going for a vintage themed wedding.

Really love this as an uncomplicated and str8 forward rose scent. It is fresh, direct and floral-intensive, so typical for a May Rose (the ugly bushes with the millions of tightly packed spikes, rather than thorns on the wooden stems). I do get a bit of musk and sandalwood, but the fruits/ berries in my opinion are so well blended that they just elevate the rose-theme all the way up to the neck, where the "black rope" is being tied. I do not quite get the name "Colle Noir" as there is nothing velvety black ropey here. While it appears traditionally a feminine right to wear rose scent, this one should be tried by as many men as possible: especially when layering with woodsy notes. Great release for the house and the Privée Collection. 7.5/10 (The simplicity is the appeal).

Such a beautiful, light rose fragrance. There are moments when it reminds me of Jo Malone Red Roses because this is not your deep rose, or jammy rose, or sweet rose. This is almost a rosehip rose, a scent that often comes from pairing rose with lemon. The fruits sneak a peek every now and again, but they are very, very subtle. The heart of the fragrance is definitely rose and musk, done in a very restrained way. This is a perfume that feels old fashioned, yet has a certain modernity about it. The strength is very good, however the sillage is weak. This is the sort of perfume you'd wear when you are getting up close and personal with someone :)

This is soooo beautiful! It is like walking on the most beautiful royal garden in the morning after a rainy day. starts green, spicy and aquatic, and the flowers start opening and you get more and more floral. it is so smooth and perfectly blended. The dry down is a sweet rose, but not sweet like current fragrances (pink sugar, cloud, or even delina). sweet like a flower, like an heliotrope. It is the most beautiful floral I have come across. Projection is very light, as so longevity, but it is so beautiful that I don't care. I really want the full bottle of this and I want to bathe on this.

One of my new favorites! It makes a statement without being overpowering. On me, it smells like a subtly spicy/warm floral, not as spicy as Givenchy’s Rose Ardente and a tad sweeter and lighter. It was love at first whiff. I spritzed it on my wrist and walked away but when I found that I couldn’t stop thinking about it, or smelling my wrist, I went back to the store and bought it. It’s so beautiful and elegant. It’s a slightly different take on the rose. I also pick up on the peony, which I love as well. I find such joy in wearing it.

Dior La Colle Noir is a masterpiece of the Pivee Collection line. I get the well-mixed between beautiful rose and precious musk. The rose in this fragrance is rather prominent from the beginning to the end on my skin. Also, the sparkling rose along with an amber note in the base is warm and subtly romantic making me feel like being surrounded by someone’s hug I love. In sum,I think the perfume is one of the best rose fragrances that I have ever used. Thank's you, Dior, I really love you. :)

I got a complimentary 10ml bottle with Miss Dior. It has great longevity and the top notes i get are Rose. It smells sophisticated and mature and it makes me feel beautiful. It is definitely a day perfume but, I love the smell of it on my pillow and sheets. I'm surely gonna buy a bottle of it as soon as i can.

this smell really greaatttt! i sniff my hand all the time. if you love les sables rose you might alson like this. but this dont have great SPL at all, after spray you can smell it at all on your skinc but somehow the scent bubble still there. ps : actually la colle really reminds me of lv les sable roses.

Beautiful and confident, grown up, rich, floral, feminine, expensive and rose rose rose. Something between the rosy green-ness of A La Rose (without the screeching citronella note) and Portrait of a Lady (minus the incense). A huge love, my all time favourite rose. Wear it and feel like a queen.

One of the best, sophisticated, strong and sexy rose scents I've ever tried. And I'm really not a big rose fan. It lasts for hours and I'm hoping to find a dupe or decant as I really need this in my wardrobe. I mostly smell fresh, crisp rose, a touch of spice, amber and white musk.

A fragrant, fresh true rose. Light & airy, a little sweet, a wee bit spicy, a sliver of fruit. The rose & peony are a luscious, perfect blend. This is very close to Delina La Roseé, but a much more gossamer composition. Longevity & sillage are moderate.

Beyond perfection! If you love rose and beautiful floral scents, this is it! Absolutely gorgeous. Bright, feminine beautiful floral. Very elegant uplifting chique. In its type, it’s twelve out of ten, j’adore la colle noire💗 madly in love😇

This is a spicy complex yet light and refreshing rose--wears equally well in summer or winter. There is predominant raspberry note along with balsamic woody aspects. It reminds me a bit of a lighter Serge Lutens Bois line, less deep however and more sparkling. However, it is similarly unisex. As a woman, I enjoy scents like this, but it would wear splendidly on a man. The peach and heliotrope do not seem strong, and I really cannot pick them up, perhaps blended so well, or, just my skin. In short, if POAL was turned down to a mere whisper and the patchouli removed and swapped for "spices" here, this is what you get, with a little of SL Rose de nuit (very little of the latter, but in that vein). My major quibbles: absolutely no silage and very poor longevity for my skin. This is a skin scent, no trail, and dies off fast. So, while lovely, I don't love. This one is a strong like and a try before you buy. I'll go back to my SL Roses and Tauer's--great silage and longevity, and, in the case of the latter, tremendous value.

Powdered white musk and rose with a light airy feel in the opening. The juice is pink and the flavour is overall very feminine and not particularly innovative but nonetheless the quality and longevity are there. La Colle noire isn't cloying or ultra 'in your face' it died back to a pleasantly warm drydown of creamy, sandalwood and roses with maybe even a touch of vanilla? This is a sweet easy going fragrance, which perhaps experts in the more feminine side of things will think knocks spots off other similar fragrances but I wasn't convinced. I actually quite liked it but I wouldn't wear or purchase it myself.

7/10. Sweet white flower, turning a bit green and musky over time. Then rosewood. Too sweet and light for me like pixie dust. A little strawberry like in Miss Dior. After an hour the sweet pixie dust mellows and soothing rosewood remains.

In comparison to Holy Peony, this is a more fresh rose style of fragrance. It's a lot lighter. It's not strong, but it is very nice. This reminds me of L'homme a la Rose from MFK, but less strong and with a tad of citrus and other notes.

A very light and pretty rose and berry fragrance on my skin, probably more suited to spring than the chilly autumn weather we're having here. This perfume reminds me a lot of Serge Lutens Fille de Berlin.

I have one word for this fragrance- "princess"! It's what I imagine princesses to smell like, and I love it. Clean, sweet, and gorgeous. No tricks or craziness here, just beauty and elegance.

I remember back when I got my mom this perfume for mother's day. It was 2016 and I got it for her in Bahrain, since I loved the pink color of the juice and spicy and woody rose fragrances were my style back then. It was also what my mom loved too and she liked it so much, she brought it with her to her summer apartment in Brisbane and she has been wearing it everytime she's here on vacation. Over time though I started finding this fragrance too spicy and too woody and feeling like the woody notes, amber and spicy notes just overpower the rose scent in this too much. I'm also not a fan of the raspberry and blackcurrant in La Colle Noire and find it too fruity. Another thing is that I wish that I could smell the lily of the valley in this, since I LOVE lily of the valley! The sillage on this fragrance is fairly strong both on my mom and I, but it is even stronger on my mom. It also lasts 8 whole hours on my skin, so it is definitely a fragrance that would last on you all night. I guess this perfume's strength, spiciness and woodiness is what makes me think that this would be best suited for night time outings during either the fall or the winter. La Colle Noire is a rather a mature smelling rose to me and like another perfumista said, a bit like a rose pot pourri instead of like real roses on a rose bush. It isn't bad, but it is not in alignment with my tastes unfortunately. That's why I'd give this fragrance a 5/10.

I don't like qualifying fragrances as masculine vs feminine or younger vs older, but sometimes it is hard to express the appropriate imagery without those notions. That being said, the rose in this fragrance is "older". The lily-of-the-valley is definitely noticeable and gives the experience a potpourri scent. I would not purchase this. I understand some may be pleased by the notes, but to my nose, it is like 90% of rose fragrances targeted towards wealthy middle aged women.

Definitely a beautiful scent, it revolves around a rich amberish clean rose, it isn't a typical rose scent though, I usually don't enjoy rose scents, but this is a composition of high quality, the amber surrounds the rose beautifully , it has some punch, it isn't sweet per se, but it is rounded, I wouldn't call it soft, neither is it bold and impressive, but definitely intriguing, and very enjoyable to wear . There is nothing masculine about it, not even unisex, I wish perfume houses would stop labelling such feminine scents as suitable for men!! Now as nice as it smells,had I paid full price for it, I might have been upset , but I got it for a steal, so in a way, glad to have it..li will wear it with bliss.

Extremely sweet, so much so that I had to wash it off when I came home because it was starting to give me a headache. I asked the SA whether this contained any berries in it and he said no but to me this is a berry and rose cocktail. It's a dead ringer for the Valentino Valentina Pink limited edition or a more refined Sí. Don't get me wrong, it's a well composed scent that evokes femininity and delicacy but it would have been better suited to the Miss Dior line as opposed to the Private Collection. It's such a shame because I have been anticipating its release and from the description of the notes online I thought ooh this will displace my beloved Oud Ispahan but it was slightly underwhelming!

I tried this (sneak preview!) and was immediately underwhelmed. Luckily however I had sprayed it on the back of my hand as after an hour my hand was glued to my nose! I went back the next day and had a proper spray to see how I felt (these fragrances are priced at investment level.) I loved it even more, what a soft, warm sunny haze of scent! My skin loves rose so I may be biased but I would advise gents to just try to get passed the initial burst of rose for the goodness that comes after. I am a big fan of the rose in Amber Nuit, but I would never venture out in the day in such a strong sent, this however is the ying to its yang. Definitely going to be bought as soon as it is on shelf!

I smelled this one today (on paper, I have the paper in my hand now). This scent is nothing to do in Dior's private collection. Smells like any current heavy rose base perfume with certain quality. Regarding the composition, I can say it's a pure red rose with a net geranium leafs back note, nothing else. Longivity and projection sounds over avarege going to heavy. Reminds me Diamond by Armani that my teen age daughter wears but in an adult version. At the end, announced for women and men? no way, for women only (my own opinion). Not for me, not for my wife ...... Good luck for you

I like it. It is close to Ambre Nuit from the same collection. I would name it an Ambre Nuit and Le Labo The Noir daughter - fresh and rosy, with some woody ambery undertones. Starting off with a fresh roses bouquet, La Colle Noire becomes warmer and sweeter, ambery and woody in the direction of Ambre Nuit.The fresh fruity element is similar to that in Le Labo The Noir. I feel different kinds of rose here. The sillage and longevity are average. On the whole the quality of the fragrance is high, it's better than mose of designers scents accented on rose.

Smelled this today in both the Dior boutique and in David Jones Sydney store. Smells similar to Le Labo The Noir on my skin.The rose note is similar but very clean and enhanced by the spices and amber.I pick up a peppery rose note followed by an hay midnote which lasts and lasts.Very complex. Its almost like a toned version of Oud Ispahan. Interesting but ultimately more feminine but very much top notch as one would expect from Dior's Private Collection. Not sure its my cup of tea but glad I got the opportunity to sample it.

I have a full bottle I am looking to swap! Please let me know if you're interested. La Colle Noir is a lovely fragrance. It is definitely all about the rose to me but it's true that it is rose, amber and musk all at the same time. It's funny my mom said she doesn't think it smells like rose. I get a drizzle of honey as well, but nothing too sweet. Something about it tickles the back of my throat.. something slightly fruity like Raspberries.

Despite the scent's funny name, there's nothing black or gluey about it. This is a fruity, spicy rose and peony scent, very feminine and classy. There are other floral notes too, but rose and peony stand out, and they are immersed in Ribena juice! The base is sweet and ambery. Whereas La Colle Noire is beautiful and wearable, it is not original, as one can find literally hundreds of similar scents in all price categories.

I sampled this one several times. I kept re-applying every 30 minutes so I can catch the initial blast of the Rose. Beautiful and uplifting. After the opening, the scent starts to take on a feminine vibe. There is nothing to balance this one, on my skin atleast. I don't think I can pull this off without feeling too cutsie. This one is a pass for me, there are a lot of great fragrances out there to settle for this one.

i don't know whether i tried 2016 or 2018 batch cause it was a decant from a friend but it was very nice stuff. longevity & silage could be an issue People saying its similar to Oud Isphan is right by only 1% cause the rose note in both are exactly same , but rest everything is different here. IMO if Dior tweaks this & make it last longer it will convert into KING .

Professional up scaling DNA of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and Dior Addict 2, light touch of citrus & sweetness in the opening, musky soft spicy and lot of roses on the middle notes, then woody vibe in dry down, BTW I notice Lancome Miracle Blossom is a bit closer to to this one, just they change few composition,

The 1st time im exposed to dior private house collection.. impressive there is definately generic dna of dior addict 2, but has its own stand alone smell. Definately a head turner. I would say id love this as my signture smell defintely uncommon scent here in my sunny island. Its sextacy to me:)

Scent - watered rose, airy heliotrope & musk. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night. Projection - I did get noticed, I didn't get a compliment. Longevity - I get 24hrs consistently.

I bought the sample box and this is the second one I tried. Totally in love with it. it's light, it's fresh, it's very pretty and pleasant. It smells luxurious without ever being too much. For me this is quintessential Dior.

2016 version is rose spicy little powdery and 2018 version is sweet rose with slight honey notes .I own 2018 first then sold it and found 2016 I’m glad I did cuz I have try 2016 version before they change few notes on it

Fully blooming red roses and peony , flowery and woody drydown. I dont like oud , and i can smell just a hint of it here. Great roseparfum in winter, rich and longlasting. I have 2016 version.

peony-rose frag done wonderfully!! its very airy and light (lasts well too), it might be very difficult for cloners to copy the airyness this frag has. Excellent Job Dior.

This is a rose perfume layered with spices and some soapy musk. If that is what you're looking for, go ahead. Warm spicy is a good descriptor

This smells absolutely NOTHING LIKE OUD ISPHAN. WHICH IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE FRAGRANCE. don't buy this if your expecting oud and Rose.
