In the canon of Dior’s olfactory creations, Diorella emerges as a fragrance that I truly love, precisely because it embodies a delicate equilibrium between refinement and quiet daring. Opening with a citrusy sparkle that gradually yields to a lush floral heart, it carries a sweetness reminiscent of honeysuckle, tender yet vivid, weaving itself into an accord where green, fruity, and subtly chypre nuances mingle with effortless grace. The sillage and projection, while moderate, lend the perfume a refined intimacy enough to leave a trace without overwhelming, like a whispered secret in the air while its longevity sustains the experience in measured persistence, never cloying, always graceful. Critically, what elevates Diorella beyond neutrality or mere admiration is how its construction feels at once sun-drenched and sophisticated, a perfume that resists the banalities of liking and instead demands love, because it reinvents the familiar tropes of florals and fruits into something strikingly alive. Edmond Roudnitska claimed Diorella as his proudest creation, an aromatic Chypre which defied perfume norms at the time. I have owned and loved a 1980s bottle for about a year now, but only just gotten around to acquiring the modern formulation: and I can wholeheartedly say, it is absolutely stunning. Both open with an overdose of bright tangy lemons, bitter zest and rind included, however the vintage is noticeably damper, whereas the modern clean and soapy. A beautiful green herbaceous facet persists in both rather similarly and, whilst the vintage will obviously have a stronger presence of oakmoss, they both dry down incredibly close to one another. Diorella is a masterpiece, a piece of history which catapulted Dior even further into the perfume industry it now dominates. Whilst hunting a beautiful vintage bottle is always fun, scent-wise alone, there is almost no need - this is utterly enchanting and has been kept true to the original with an extremely impressive likeness.

Diorella is a very classic scent, you'd be hard pressed to find anything of this calibre in modern fragrances. Typical of most chypres, Diorella opens with a citrusy and refreshing burst of Sicilian lemon and bergamot. Adding to the citrus is an interesting blend of green notes and basil which gives this fragrance a herbaceous like quality. Despite this rather sharp and sour opening, Diorella is extremely feminine and balanced. The top notes transcend delicately into the heart which is mostly subtle, green and slightly sweet honeysuckle, rose, jasmine and peach. After a while the heart takes on a clean and soapy quality which is a little similar to Miss Dior. Rounding off this scent is the drydown which is rich, animalistic and woodsy. A masterpiece in my opinion. Upon your first encounter with this fragrance it may not be love at first sniff, but like so many other Dior fragrances it will certainly grow on you. It's on my wishlist.

Self Former Ghost Barely Resambles Version Vintage WTF Ifra exclamation mark (put them in order...) I know, I know even if I don’t know cause I don’t know the vintage version but I can imagine, but still...if I focuse on what it’s there, I can only say that I find beauty in this little gorgeous summer chypre, its creamy vetiver sweetened by the peach and honeysuckle really stands out. The fact that many reviewers have pointed out a shared dna with Le Parfume de Therese has surely skyrocketed my excitement but I really can’t see what’s not to like in this new version of Diorella. Longevity is good and the drydown makes me almost as happy as the brunette in the vintage ad. Now I have to get a yellow jacket. A new personal favorite.

Today I had a chance to try Diorella in a shop. It is really beautiful. Very fresh, but it is fresh in a completely different way than other fragrances, I can smell rich lemon, surrounded by honeysuckle and vetyver is in the background. It is also delicate and creamy, couldn ́t stop smelling my wrist. I think this will be my favourite one for the next summer. When I compare it to other fresh summer fragrances it is much more softer and elegant not so loud. I love it.
