Oud Ispahan Esprit De Parfum

Gotta say as egregiously priced, and pointless as these Esprit creations are, this is the best one. I feel at the very least it will be the saving grace of the collection, appealing to Oud Ispahan fans, of which I believe there’s many. Now, I don’t know how Oud Ispahan has changed over the years, I recall trying it when it came out and thinking it was a superior oud rose but haven’t given subsequent (I believe poor) reformulations a go to compare. However it was on a bandwagon with a million others and although it did shine with a clarity and eventual mass popularity which made it an icon, I wasn’t that interested in owning it. I’d compare it to Portrait of a Lady in that sense, I recognise it’s a HUGE and fragrance culturally important fragrance but it doesn’t massively interest me. Sorry. It’s that broad strokes ‘leathery’ animalic synth oud thing (which has never been so much as near an animal) and has that ‘opulent’ modern accord which smells expensive (and reassuringly IS!!!) and is extra tenacious (lasted a good day on my skin easy) So yeah I liked it, I have to say... As my Caledonian brothers and sisters would say “Yas can get tae fuck with £380!!!”

BEWARE of the bomb! Oud Ispahan Esprit is an absolute beast of a Fragrance. The Oud inside is so dark, a bit earthy and to be honest, quite animalic. Oud Ispahan edp is a rose water with oud. The Oud in here is animalic but soft, and the Turkish rose water is very noticeable. It is already a beautiful and strong fragrance in its EDP version. The new Esprit expression takes it to the dark side with a very powerful Oud scent. The rose has not disappeared but is almost overpowered by the Oud. This fragrance is extremely dark and animalic. If I had to compare it to another scent, it would be “Oud Khol” from Guerlain, except that Oud khol is way more “pungeant” and almost “sour”. Oud Ispahan Esprit is more wearable and better blended I would say. 2 sprays is enough! Everyone will smell it around you and it even takes a bit of a residue to leave its scent everywhere. Fragrance to use with conscience. The population asked Francis for some long-lasting Dior and he didn’t disappoint with this!

Straight up better version of the original to me I thought the original Ispahan was more of just an indole bomb but this actually has more going on. It’s quite rosy first and foremost very similar to any other of the ouds and roses of the private line they’re all so similar with just slight nuances it’s like finding which is catered to you more specifically, either way nothing necessarily new but imo nails the oud and roses balance the best with a healthy dose of spice, overall just really really nicely blended and quite strong to boot not quite fb worthy but glad to have some of this stuff.

absolutely phenomenal scent, all the good things about the og amplified, more depth and spice, slightly darker- the og indeed feels like a watered down version in comparison, i honestly cant go back !! ofc if youve never liked oud ispahan to begin with then this is unlikely to impress you but if you love it already then you’re bound to appreciate this one more

MINDBLOWING is the only word I can use for this! Again, I said this about many other perfumes but this is all I wanted oud ispahan to smell like for years! Just wow! It is very very very very very........very very OUDY and strong though! Gotta love oud!
