Spice Blend

It fits its namesake perfectly in my opinion, it opens up with boozy rum and some Ginger, which then, as you'd guess, transitions into a flawlessly blended array of spices, so much so that on my skin its actually quite difficult to pick individual spices apart (aside from cinnamon mainly) past the opening, they all compliment and mesh into eachother seamlessly to be honest, it's amazing. All of this is enhanced and supplemented by an underlying woody slightly herbal base which adds an even more rounded scent profile to an already smooth scent. This is a natural to upgrade (or an alternative of higher quality) to Spicebomb in my humble opinion, for me personally spice bomb in general was a little bit too cloying and slightly pungent with its spices which put me off, whereas this is a lot more subtle on both its spicyness and its overall projection, which I prefer personally. Definitely a colder day/month leaning fragrance, I can't recommend it in hot days or summer at all, on my skin i get medium projection with about 6 hours longevity; for what scenarios you could wear this, I see being good as a dress up and down fragrance personally, it might be a tad bit too strong for a work environment, but I can definitely see it being pulled off in an office as a theoretical. Final Verdict, 8.2/10

I absolutely love this perfume! A couple of months ago (in the spring) I blind-bought a 30ml decant of it and In my collection no perfume has been used that much over such a short period of time. So off I went to Diors website and bought a 125ml bottle of it, I even spent time writing a review on their site... That's how much I absolutely LOVE this fragrance! 10/10 As I wrote on Diors site: "Dior Spice Blend is an incredible fragrance that instantly makes me feel more confident and sophisticated. The fresh and boozy opening is unlike anything I've smelled before. A unique blend of spices and rum that awakens the senses. When I wear this perfume I feel unstoppable, ready to take on anything the day or night brings. The spicy warmth develops beautifully on the skin, turning into a sensual and elegant scent that lasts around 10-12 hours on my skin. Spice Blend is a complex yet perfectly balanced fragrance, managing to be both fresh and intense, making it a true pleasure to wear. A scent that also enhances my confidence in a way few other fragrances have achieved. I can wear this day and night, summer or winter. A true masterpiece!"

I tried this expecting spice bomb and it does have a resemblance, but I feel like this is a much better take on it. Speaking of niche spice bomb, Initio Rehab is pretty much a perfect rendition of spice bomb, better than the OG, but I digress. This one opens with a brightness that neither have. And that sparkle is from the pink pepper and ginger. This smells fantastic and if you're a big fan of spice bomb, you'll like this one. It's a more elegant take. I've tried a bunch of Dior lately and this one has the worst longevity out of any of them. So if performance is important for you and you don't want to periodically refresh with this expensive juice, you might want to just get the original and call it a day. I sold Rehab, and gave away spice bomb. Not because they're bad fragrances, I just got bored with them. I'd probably get bored with this as well. 2024 batch - first spray, very bay leaf, slightly rum a bit of nutmeg Oxygen is in the bottle now and I'm detecting a much fuller scent profile, the bay is much less prominent, has a clean airyness that cuts through the sweetness of the rum, nutmeg is still playing a vital role here, clove is undetectable, very well blended fresh spice fragrance, black pepper and ginger are more prominent in the warmth, otherwise no jagged edges, everything blended seamlessly. Not quite like anything I've tried before, very happy about how it performs also, projection in the first 30 minutes is extreme, dries down closer to the skin, spraying on clothes gives the ideal for projection and longevity. Very versatile, cold autumn and winter days, or even a cool summers night Doesn't blow me away like la collection couturier parfumeur, but definitely sits well in the current line up for a spice clean scent

Comes off to me like a modernized early 90s men’s fragrance: a soapy/spicy/well blended thing. Almost a perfect 3-season signature scent. Spicy with the pink pepper and ginger really kicking things off. The cinnamon is there, too. You’ll think of Spice Bomb because of the pink pepper and cinnamon at first but that scent is very rough and scratchy and this is well blended and refined. During the drydown they really diverge and Spice Blend is more of a classic men’s fragrance, more appropriate post barber than Spicebomb, which is more party and youth. This grew on me and I eventually got a bottle after years of draining a decant. Longevity is okay around 5-7 hours and it’s more of a skin scent/close bubble for me. It really isn’t a screamer if that’s what you want. An 8/10. Won’t blow you away but it might be a great signature. It has slowly turned into heavy work rotation for me.

Heavily complexed from the late 70's & 80's when frags use to contain a ton of notes, where today it's all focusing on only adding a few key ingredients so the customer can pick out individually notes. The note of Spearmint comes in at the dry-off, and it's off-putting because eventually i get the note of toothpaste. :S The Mint note is unnecessary. That Mint note is so off-putting with the rest of the dna notes, i've confirmed to myself that this fragrance is a mess. 2.5/5 Woofs!

As a guy, I love this fragrance so much for the cooler fall-like weather. I don't like very heavy fragrances, I find them to be oppressive to wear. This one is airy and perfect and masculine with that bay leaf accord that reminds me so much of Bay Rum shaving products. It has good longevity despite the airiness too. I do find I have to spray about 25% more than I normally would with a typical "cold weather" fragrance but I don't mind it. This is real perfumery in the sense that the proportions are well thought out and executed. So many perfumes like JPG Le Male Elixir have no finesse and just beat you over the head with sweetness.

Fantastic, amazing, spectacular fragrance! The scent is so warm, spicy, decadent, intriguing and memorable! It's just like a warm, delicious but somehow pretentious hug :))) It stands out among a lot of other perfumes and it has that je ne sais quoi, but the performance is a bit disappointing. The price is quite steep and for this reason I would have expected a better projection and a more lasting scent. Would't mind to receive it as a gift :))))) but I probably won't buy it myself. Compared to other perfumes in its price range, the performance on this is a turn-off (for me). But if money was not an issue, I'd run and get it!!

I agree with @Manny44’s comment below; this is a refined, easy-wearing, spicy fragrance. I enjoy spicy fragrances but I find that a lot of perfumes in this category to be overbearing after a few hours. Spice Blend is a lighter take on the genre; it’s light enough to wear most days/occasions, but it isn’t boring. Spice Blend provides its wearer with a spicy, clean, soapy, amber scent cloud. I haven’t tried Spice Bomb in a while, but from memory it is louder and more ‘extroverted’ than Spice Blend. I like both fragrances, however I enjoy the subtlety of Spice Blend at this stage of my life. To each their own, though.

This is exactly the spicy-soapy, not too sweet scent I've been looking for for years. As weird as it sounds it evokes wet, freshly-shampooed hair in a very intimate, sensual way. I don't really get the rum in this, it leans masculine in the opening but the drydown reads powdery, clean and truly gender neutral while remaining spicy IMO. I love spraying it on after a shower and on my scarves in the winter. Friends and family have described it as "mysterious" which is exactly my vibe! Might not be for everyone, especially considering the price tag but give it a try if you're a spice lover!

This to me smells like a mix of MM Jazz Club and Spicebomb with a bit of a barbershop quality to it. Kind of the best of both worlds, with a barbershop tone, but maybe not as masculine leaning as I wanted. I do think this would be more successful with a different name and/or a stronger bay rum aspect to it (the bay rum is there but cant help but feel the cinnamon should have been toned down or even removed as sometimes you do get a "bubblegum" vibe from that note here). I would give it a try if you enjoy the above 2. The more Ive worn it, the more I like whats been done here.

Just picked up Spice Blend for my mom and I have to admit that this is one of the best iterations of spice I ever smelt. Perfect compound. Extremely bright, invigorating, inviting, mysterious, spicy, and clean. No comparison to Spice Bomb in the heart of this fragrance however for first time sniffers you will automatically compare it to Spice Bomb but as it dries down that idea completely leaves your mind and you drift into a pool of elegance. Will definitely purchase a bottle of this for myself in the coming weeks. Highly suggest 8.5/10

Vibrant, super spicy. It creates a comfortable atmosphere, the pink pepper and the note of rum and ginger are very evident. It releases all its warm sensuality in the drydown, where the bay leaf appears to leave a more tranquil and relaxing imprint. A particular perfume, to be worn perhaps with a nice heavy sweater in the freezing winter months, certainly warms the heart. Sillage : 8/10 Longevity : 9/10 Scent : 9.5/10 Overall : 9.5/10

This certainly is an interesting interpretation of the theme. However, it is apparently disappointing for many, since most people would expect something more hefty under the name Spice Blend, I guess. I happen to like it because it is not overly sweet, which is what I don’t like about Spice Bomb. But, do not expect anything groundbreaking. It’s rather quiet and it does take a long time to develop on the skin and show all its facets.

Got a decant of this and absolutely love it. I get a very soapy spicy ginger and pepper for majority of its life of my skin. Like other reviews have said longevity isn’t the best, maybe 6 hours total, skin scent after 2-3 on me. However, in those 2-3 hours it projected off me pretty nicely, an arms length maybe more. Definitely going to get the 250ml bottle and overspray.

Instantly fell in love with Spice Blend after sampling and had to hunt down a full bottle from Europe. Not sure when the US release date is but might pick up another when it does in case we get reformulated. lol What the name lacks in imagination the fragrance more than makes up for in olfactory bliss. Just smelled this today at the Dior boutique. My first impressions of this, is that the dry down smells very similar to Penhaligon’s Endymion. The kind SA gave me a miniature bottle of this with my purchase of Sakura. Will have to test this out more in the future. If it has longer lasting power and projects well enough then is will be my next on the list.

one of Francois' best creations. this is a ticking time bomb that builds up to an absolutely delicious composition. it begins with the blend of spices and a zingy, sparkling ginger, then dries down to a sweet amalgamation of cinnamon and dry cedar woods. imagine if V&R Spicebomb wore a cashmere black suit (I have no idea what this means).

Casual and formal fragrance. It has some similarities to spicebomb but this one is less sweet, more refined and luxurious. The rum with the cinnamon and pepper, makes it delicious. Love at first sniff and honestly, it is so gentle and inoffensive. Longevity sucks but I do not mind reapplying. I love the soft spicy-ness of Spice Blend. It’s not heavy nor is it headache inducing. It’s very cozy and very inviting and I had to get it right away...🖤✨✨✨

This is my September best perfume to wear it's very unique and they present the Amber and Spices with touch of Tonka Bean sweetness and l will classify this perfume as woody Spice smallest touch of Patchouli and overall l will give it 9.5/10 love it !!!

It's smells 75% similar to Carlisle from Parfums de Marly. But not as good. And not as strong. Still not bad though! I would give it 8/10. Carlisle is 9/10. A nice, warm, soft, and a bit spicy fragrance. But I prefer Carlisle.

It reminded me of the original Spicebomb in the opening. Nice fresh spicy fragrance. Good for date nights on summer but might lack the power on cold weather. Unisex indeed but leans slightly masculine in my opinion. 7.5/10

I like it, didn't blow me away. Feve Delicieuse with rum and pepper added to my nose, walks the masculine side of the unisex tightrope, good in cold weather, very wearable in all situations imo.

So much more interesting than the often mentioned alternative - it's the bay and a finer less sweet balance - and a little longer lasting for me at least. That I bore of quickly, this I crave.

This is really nice, compliment getter. I think you can wear this all year around. This feels like the cousin of Ambre Nuit, they're not exactly the same but they are related. Beautiful!

My problem with Spice Blend is its abysmal longevity 😔 It is such a beautiful and airy fragrance. Perfectly balanced and unisex. But it only stays for 20 minutes...and then, it’s gone 💨😳

Contrary to its name, Beautiful amber fragrance. Reminds me of Ambre nuit without ambroxan. Different from spice bomb. Compliment getter. Sad that it's going to be discontinued.

It will be interesting to see if this maintains the tailored Dior sophistication or if the boozy and heavy spice profile leans into something more rugged. Let us see if this blend has the substance to stand alongside the house legends or if it feels like a fleeting aromatic experiment. Opening: The opening is spicy, warm, and boozy. The primary notes I get are rum, cinnamon, pink pepper, and ginger, with the rum and cinnamon leading the composition. The rum opens up the fragrance with a sweet and boozy warmth that avoids being overly alcoholic, focusing instead on the refined notes of the spirit rather than the harshness of the liquid itself. The nuance of this polarity will likely not resonate with everyone, as the constant tug of war between the fresh, zesty ginger and the warm, powdery cinnamon creates a specific tension that requires personal testing on skin. While the technical quality is undeniable, the way these opposing ends of the spice spectrum interact may feel confusing to those expecting a more traditional or linear scent path. Because it refuses to settle firmly into one camp or the other, sampling is strongly recommended to ensure that this particular blend of fresh energy and boozy warmth aligns with your personal style before committing to a full bottle. Final Verdict: Spice Blend stood out to me as remarkable for a couple of different reasons. Based on the name, I was expecting a fragrance steeped only in warm and heavy spices, but what I received was something much truer to the title: a fragrance focused around a sophisticated blend of both fresh and warm spices. This is an innovative concept that I have never encountered before or even considered, but it works surprisingly well to create a unique olfactory signature that challenges the typical boundaries of the spice genre. Furthermore, the technical performance was astonishingly powerful for a profile where half of the notes are fresh and volatile; it managed to perform for over twelve hours and noticeably clung to my shirt for at least a couple of days. The execution here is a testament to the quality within the La Collection Privee, proving that Dior can create massive performance without relying on synthetic or overbearing accords. All things considered, I think Spice Blend is an excellent fragrance in its own right, as it offers a level of versatility and endurance that is rare to find. However, even with that impressive technical display, it is not quite the type of profile I personally gravitate toward for my own rotation. For that reason, I will be passing on a full bottle purchase, but I would highly recommend that anyone try it at least once to experience its unique and masterful balancing act. Spice Blend is among the latest releases from the Maison Christian Dior line, the higher-end wing of Dior fragrances that replaced the Privee-named line. The rum and the spicy notes (cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper) factor in most strongly to my notes, but it doesn’t come off overly pungently spicy. It’s not sneeze-inducing spicy, but rather, tastefully spicy, with the rum remaining fairly prominent throughout. Initially, it smells like Mugler Pure Malt without the A*Men tar/patchouli vibe, kind of the smoother booziness on top, but it becomes spicier with time and this notion fades but is still present even after a number of hours on skin. It’s very much in the spirit of the MCD line—light and agreeable, very much in contrast to the more daring releases from the previous Privee line along the lines of Cuir Cannage, Leather Oud, and eventually, Feve Delicieuse. Spice Blend has the benefit of being more signature-scent-worthy, though, like Purple Oud, though I expect that makes it more appealing for passersby and fans of mainly designer releases than niche fragheads. Available at the same pricing as the rest of the line at $220 for 125ml, I still regard the Dior Privee / MCD lines as unusually well-priced in the market as far as the high-end designer lines. That said, certainly the more recent MCD releases have been generally lighter and less daring and perhaps less worthy of higher-end pricing than the previous Privee releases. Nevertheless, I’ve found several that I really think are quite great in the new line—namely, Balade Sauvage, Purple Oud, and Diorissima. Santal Noir is another one worth checking out, and I have high hopes for Jasmin Des Anges and Happy Hour, though I need to try both still. Overall, it’s a very nice offering but a “like” not a “love” for me. It’s pleasant, a sold masculine, signature-scent-worthy offering, but not quite bold enough to be full bottle-worthy, at least not for me. Still, it performs quite well and should be a nice option for lots of people out there, especially men looking for a cold-weather-friendly signature-type of scent that transitions well into evening wearing while still being office-friendly enough. A solid release while not being groundbreaking. 7 out of 10

*update: This one grew on me, and it isn’t as feminine leaning as I got before. I actually got a decant of this recently and enjoy it more. I still think it leans slightly feminine in general, but also feel that it works with my chemistry and like any fragrance it smells different on each wearer. That said, I also still think that this would smell better on a woman, despite me liking it more now.* Very different in the beginning than in the mid/late phases. Opening is very fresh, fresh spicy, and pretty unisex down the middle. Soon afterwards the bright spiciness falls to the back burner, and it turns quite feminine to my nose. Very nice smelling in each phase, but not to my taste overall. Also to note, beginning fresh spices are somewhat similar to Balade Sauvage, not same but quite similar vibe, obviously with no fig but they seem like close cousins. Later in, no similarity whatsoever. Lasts a decent amount of time, moderate+ projection for a few hours but not a beast. Unfortunately though, I would rather not project the mid/late phases and have a sexy-fem sillage happening. Would much rather smell this on a woman.

I had high hopes for this one, considering the notes and the reputation of the Christian Dior line, considering the likes of Oud Ispahan and Eau Noire. But alas I was let down by this one. If you're looking for a spicy fragrance look elsewhere and don't waste your money on this one. This is a very much a mainstream, masculine woody fragrance that's been done ad nauseam. It opens up with the boozy accord which quickly transitions into the heart, where supposedly the spices reside waiting to do their thing. But where are they? All I get is a woody accord with just a faint hint of the spices. It is almost as if the perfumer was afraid of them and hid them behind the wood accord. This part of the fragrance lasts for 5-6 hours and then in the far dry down a sweetness suddenly comes in, ending the fragrance's life with a fake whimper of satisfaction. All in all, it has good longevity, but is not original. I'm glad I just got a decant. Hopefully Dior doesn't continue with this trend and returns to the inspiring souls of formerly released fragrances.

Very pleasant. For a name of this nature this will surprise you. Starts off very very pleasant and sexy. The opening is really gorgeous. There's booze mostly and some ginger. This perhaps has the best ginger note I've smelled in a fragrance. Although that's all there's to this scent when it comes to pleasing you. Soon after the price point of this is going to dawn on you and you're going to realise it's both too generic/boring and weak to shell this amount of cash on. Dries down to a boozy smooth spicy concoction that reminds me of Lalique's Ombre Noire. All in all a good scent,but not worth it's price and perhaps not deserving of any coveted niche fame as this one is good but easy to forget I'm afraid.

Spice blend is nice. It's quite soapy and spicy in the beginning and then that soapiness goes away. Afterwards it dries to an earthy spicy mid. There is a note that keeps this a bit bright though. I thought this had some florals, but I looked at the notes and it has none of that lol. I like this. It's not a love for me so I won't go as far as to buying a full bottle, but maybe later I'll try again and possibly do a full day's wearing. This projects, I would say arms length and pretty well, but not as a powerhouse. I like it and it's good. It's worthy of checking out if you like the notes, but nothing more I believe.

Blind bought this because it’s supposed to be something like Spice Bomb and I love Spice Bomb Extreme and Infrared. This to me is nothing like Spice Bomb. Spicy, yes, but it lacks the sweetness of the Spice Bomb. Maybe because of the expectation, I sort of feel that this one is just a so so perfume. Btw I didn’t get any rum in it but instead got something sourishly familiar. Edit. After wearing it a while, I like it better and I’ve got to concede that it does have the Spice Bomb vibe, just not the same sweetness.

Okay so.. Its a very complicated composition but some lower comments made a nice point.. It has that big rum punch u find in jazz club and cinnamon from spice bomb and but of sweet herbals yet I don't get any pepper at all.. Don't feel its spicy but more of a syrupy feel cinnamon isn't dusty like in amber narguile for example Should have been called (cinnamon rum blend) However its a new and challenging concept. Versatile (but night only), Pure unisex and good performance I like it but I don't love it

A really nice spicy fragrance. In the beginning it’s fresh spicy and as it hits the dry down the freshness fades away at this point I especially smell cinnamon and pepper. Overall the scent is pretty nice. Not outstanding, not breathtaking but nice. I get a elegant oriental vibe. The performance on this is amazing. On my skin it lasts over 12 hours with constant projection. Overall though for the price the scent itself is not good enough. Yes it smells good but for 195€ it’s just too simple.

It's spicy of course, but fresh and not aggressive like some spicy fragrances can be. I get the ginger mostly, which gives the composition a zesty quality, sitting on a bed of different spices which are nicely balanced and harmonized. Unisex and honestly one of my favourites amongst the ones I've tested at the counter, even though I ended up getting the famous Fève Délicieuse (2018). (tested on paper only)
