Essences Insensées 2015

After reading the press release description, as a jasmine lover, untested, I purchased a full bottle. It arrived today and my first impressions are: Opulent, Feminine, Elegant, Enthralling, Natural smelling. The superior quality jasmine, orange blossom & basil notes are all prominent, creating a soapy, cream accord. The flacon is beautiful heavy glass and most elegant. It won't be stored in my fragrance wardrobe cabinet, but rather on my dressing table. I’d consider this a fall/winter evening fragrance, perfect for special occasions, but the sillage is such it can be worn in any season. Because I have nothing like it in my collection, I’m quite pleased with my blind purchase. Epilogue: Think, Marlene Dietrich, but I can easily see Alison Goldfrapp wearing Essences Insensées 2015! An hour later - the sweet strawberry jam accord has arrived & smells very sexy. Now, it has dried down to a skin scent that wafts regally long after you thought it had fully dissipated. Update: After wearing this for a week, I feel there's nothing old fashioned about this fragrance, as it's a modern and unique take on jasmine. Very natural smelling, stunningly beautiful, and full bottle worthy. For jasmine lovers, this is an immediate must have!

I know this is long discontinued, but thought I’d leave my first review on a positive note! I got this years back within the year it was released I’d say, and it is one of my favorites. I still have about 25-30% left, but the spray thing stopped working, I haven’t worn it in over a year and it was definitely one of my top 5 I own, but I just need to get that fixed as I love it so much, the bottle is beautiful, but the fragrance is even prettier. It’s very rich, but not heavy, and I can’t recall if I smelled it before I bought it, as i didn’t do blind buys much in the past, but am starting to now. All I can say is it’s an elegant fragrance that I prefer to use when going out on dates/ anything that involves a full on makeup and dress up from head to toe. Ironically I had gotten GUERLAIN terracotta perfume version around the same time (before it was discontinued), and I always felt like they were siblings, terracotta has more tropical vibes but I still get that with this beaut. I can see it is likely better worn it warmer temps but I’ve def worn it in every season, making me feel luxurious and intoxicating!

Finally got my hands on this bottle after practically stealing it from the Diptyque counter in a small shop in London, where a sales assistant was showing it to me, pulling it out of a hidden box in a cupboard behind the more prominent, present creations. Long story short: this smells like I've died and went straight into a jasmine heaven! The sheer rude smack on the face of opulence and creaminess, like walking up the stairs of the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy/Sri Lanka at 5:30 in the morning, where the warmth of the air and scent transports you into a higher sphere of the spiritual bliss amongst local devotees, not a single tourist in site. It is soooo thick, voluptuous, velvety rich and jasmine-jam-syrupy one can almost drown in its opulent warmth and would not notice dying, so spellbinding this scent is. This is like a Spinal Tap: not only 10, it goes up to 11 !!! Not only love but a total endless jasmine adoration, if ever there was one...❤️

Heady, intensely sweet floral opening. An almost overwhelming fruity, sugary jasmine with notes of pear. Sweet tea - no milk, just straight up sugared tea. Looking at the notes it's surprisingly simple. I can't really pick out the basil but there's a faint soapiness that I attribute to the orange flower. A true jasmine fragrance that's only accentuated by the accompanying notes, except sweeter than any jasmine I've smelled. Opulent, sensually feminine but still manages to be pure - there's nothing dirty or skanky here. Doesn't read as a nighttime fragrance despite the jasmine; like sitting in a shaded jasmine bower in the tropics. Dries out touch as it goes on and the orange blossom moves a bit more to the front and sillage reduces pretty dramatically (around the 2 hour mark) but still lovely. A beautifully rich, true to life jasmine fragrance.

I had this. It was one of the most realistic blend of jasmine with other white floral touches. I loved it. Unfortunately, a friend that helped me unpack after moving somehow laid it down sideways. Despite being capped it all leaked out in a box. I was sad. I knew she didn't have the money to replace it so I didn't say anything, especially after helping me move. So...be careful with this bottle!

Jasmin...incredibly natural capture! Sweet intoxicating soliflore dripping in nectar and so very honeyed! Wow, so lush and real. For the true Jasmine lover.

that's a sumptuous soliflore. An autumn jasmine, a flower who dies slowly in is bed of honey. Simply the best jasmine soliflore I've smelled until now.

The most perfect Jasmine in existence. The only perfume I’ve ever repurchased, four bottles deep and I’ll keep buying it as long as I can find them.

Blind buy years ago. Didn’t like it at all even though I adore jasmine (more Sambac because it’s is green) but this here it’s not green at all. Overripe jasmine with the pee pee scent of basil. Tried it today again - like it now much more. Maybe because it’s still wintery cold outside and the honeyed warmth of the fading jasmine gives me a hug.

I tried this yesterday at Nordstrom. Very strong and lush; thick and dense. Too weighty to be refreshing. The orange blossom was ahead of the jasmine on me by quite a bit. The basil prominent, and smelled like a mix of fresh and dried basil. The bottle was beautiful and heavy.

Straight up, intense white floral for me. The Jasmine is front and center with little room for anything else, on me. I feel like I smell like my great grandmother's funeral, but not in a bad way. It is nicely done, but too strong for me.

Sweet, natural jasmine. Very realistic, yet nicely rounded for a soliflore.

I have wanted to smell Diptyque's Essenses Insensees 2015 edition since I read it was an intoxicatingly sweet jasmine/white floral (which is right up my street). Yes it's very similar to Lush's 'Lust' (but much more expensive). But beware, there's also a urine smell to it. It's a crazy, strong, cat-piss note that stings your eyes with a stale ammonia style tang. Why is it there?! It ruins it. Stick to Lush's 'Lust' as there's no pee-pee note in there.

Eww, that’s bad, really really bad. I find this in my vanity in between samples, it smells like pain relief cream, I know this smell from my grandpa who suffered from knee pain. Who want to smell like arthritis, come on?! How come this has such a good reviews, am I reviewing wrong product? On my sample is 2016 not 2015, idk... I don’t smell jasmine, only mint, basil and strong camphor, after hour only camphor.

This is how the Lido di Venezia smelled in late May. Yes, this perfume is supposed to be late autumn jasmine, anyhow, when I came pack from Venezia, I searched for the scent and found it in this bottle. Absolutely dazzling! I guess this bottle is more a souvenir to me, less a perfume to be worn on a daily basis because it IS HEAVY. Lets call it a piece of art. A creation, people like search for. This is something I would expect from the maison Serge Lutens. Every time I expect something from Serge Lutes, I get it. In my opinion this is what puts Lutens above most other maisons.

I love this perfume. It's a fabulous combination of white floral and green. I bought a backup bottle. Thinking of getting a third just because it's LE. It lasts a long time. I'm not crazy about the spray mechanism, minor detail but I don't feel it sprays well.

This is sweet, gorgeous, in-your-face jasmine and orange blossom...I don't get much basil per se but something herbal. Great stuff and one of the very best jasmines I have sniffed...though I loathe the bulb atomizer.

Drat! All I get is shampoo and something vaguely floral. Probably some kind of white musk is the culprit. Either my nose or my skin often reacts badly to those.
