Fleur de Peau Eau de Parfum

Again, I don't know what crazy skin chemistry I've got going on but by gods does it vibe with Fleur de Peau. Each time I wear it, this perfume takes me on an olfactory adventure. The start is, for me, its weakest point. Whatever happens with the first spray, be it a dumping of aldehydes or too much of that vegetal carrot, I am not a fan. Thankfully it passes in just a few minutes and I've come to think of the rest as a kind of ballet of smells. Act one has, among others, a scene where the iris and fresh musk shine through the most, bringing to mind a sense of cleanliness that would come after a luxurious shower at a spa if one was given the world's fanciest soap. You've just stepped out of the jet streams and are drying your skin with this warm, fluffy towel. Another scene evokes the atmosphere of a fancy boutique but it's also the coziest place you could imagine (here the sandalwood and leather become a bit more noticeable but both are warm and supple with years of use, no harshness or dryness to be smelled anywhere). The musk is still there but turns more creamy and powdery. Act two is a parade of surprising permutations of the composition that starts somewhere around the two hour mark. Fleur de Peau fully melts into my skin. It no longer feels like I am wearing perfume. The perfume has become a part of me. Am I the perfume now? I can't even tell you what it smells like at this point because each time I put my nose to my wrist it's slightly different. What it consistently is, however, is subtle, powdery and so well blended it's impossible to pick out individual notes. There might be phases where it becomes more dusty or more woody but it ebbs and flows. Act three, I believe, starts somewhere around the six hour mark. Fleur de Peau is now quite a lot sweeter. It projects just as well as it did in the first three hours after application (that is to say its sillage falls on the upper end of intimate but it's still perfectly noticeable when you're close to me). It manages to be both cozy and chic but also attractive. In fact, I have trouble saying where the longevity ends. I have slept with two half sprays of it (neck and chest) and got complimented on my perfume 15+ hours after application.

Fleur de Peau is a fragrance that feels almost too good to be available for the current price, easily something that could go for twice the price if it were created by less honest brand. It essentially delivers a very smooth and full iris experience while smelling surprisingly natural without being too damp or vegetal. I'm quite certain that what is being used here is carrot seed extract, an interesting raw material full of ionones, compounds that are found in iris extract, which is ridiculously expensive and therefore practically never used in perfumery. Honestly, having sampled real iris extract, it also doesn't really need to be used, because it is honestly not that great, its ashy, waxy, oily, vegetal, and ever so slightly sweet. Master perfumers like Olivier Pescheux seem to known this too and have effectively created these massive powdery musky floral accords that vastly surpass the original material (imo). Fleur de Peau is round, smooth, musky, powdery, buttery, but also slightly cold and vegetal (imo coming from the carrot seed) to still provide the feeling that this could be a smell coming from the root of a delicate flower. All together it feels like a dreamy cloud of pale translucent powder that has stuck to your skin and is staying there for the rest of the day like an invisible sheath. Unlike most iris fragrances it doesn't smell hardcore cosmetic but it is still intensely powdery, too much for me to comfortably wear, aside from in dressed up fancy occasions, but I do appreciate the art and technical ability that went into it. Definitely something to look into if you are into powdery musky fragrances (also Volutes EDP, which has a similar iris accord but microdosed and matched with a warm spicy tobacco accord). Excellent overall, good value for money.

I think the iris note in this is superb, it is carroty for sure. It also has a sort of "inky" violet(?) darkness. The opening feels quite cool & aloof, but as it wears the soft clean musk prevents it from becoming too cold & austere. It also has a little sweetness on my skin as time passes - but much less sweet than say, MMM Lipstick On (for comparison). I don't actually perceive it as powdery (but that's probably just me!). I can pick up leather in the base, but only when I spray heavily. It reminds me a bit of SL Clair de Musc, but with a much more pronounced iris note, & less noticeable aldehydes. Someone further down said it smells 1970's..Maybe to some, but (imho) only insofar as It doesn't have sugary vanilla, any sweet gourmand notes & (biggest bonus to me), it doesn't reek of synthetic woods...So basically it's missing everything that seems to have huge appeal in current trendy perfumes. Initially I thought it was quite weak, but now after several wears I've found that the longevity is quite deceiving. Every so often I still catch a lovely waft of scent, even after several hours. Also people comment on how beautiful it smells, even when I think it's not even noticeable. It's one of those perfumes that wears quietly. I like that, it is subtle & gentle, but still there.. I think FdP is beautiful - the best perfume I've tried this year. Definitely suited to cold weather because it does have some warmth - but also (probably) versatile enough for year round. I'm thrilled with my bottle, it's gorgeous in a quiet & unassuming sort of way. I've found a new love! :) Update Feb 19. I've found FdP really draws a lot of compliments - so it seems to be a very easy to love scent.

A fragrance that embodies whispered elegance and the concept of "skin scent" (the your skin but better trend), Fleur de Peau is probably one of the absolute pinnacles reached by Diptyque., with this masterpiece by Olivier Pescheux: Although the aldehydes are present in the opening, they have nothing of the "vintage" or soapy character of the past. Here they serve to give air and light to the composition. Freshly sprayed, Fleur de Peau is sparkling. Pink pepper and bergamot create an almost tickling sensation, while angelica brings a vegetal and slightly aromatic touch that prevents the fragrance from becoming too sweet. Here the soul of the fragrance emerges. The iris is not overly earthy, nor too much like "powder makeup". It's buttery, velvety and blends perfectly with a hint of Turkish rose, which serves more to add body than a clear floral scent. The real secret lies in the base notes. The use of ambrette seeds and carrot accentuates the silky, almost human appearance of the musk. Ambergris and leather are not heavy, but create a texture that recalls the cleansing of bare skin after a hot bath, wrapped in a fine linen towel. Fleur de Peau is a perfume of contrasts: it is both fresh and warm, ethereal and carnal. It is the ideal choice for those who do not like intrusive or "pleasant" perfumes, but are looking for an olfactory signature that conveys extreme cleanliness and impeccable taste. Many compare it to Glossier You, but Fleur de Peau is definitely more complex, layered and "artistic". It is less synthetic and much deeper thanks to the quality of Diptyque's raw materials.

This smells like a mother’s hug. Fleur de Peau is a very abstract perfume to my nose. I think Diptyque does a fantastic job of capturing and bottling photorealistic florals, but this is not that. This is, however, something magical. People who hate on this perfume like to label it as grandma-esque. I honestly hate when people use this type of descriptor, but I believe those who feel this way are overwhelmed by the powder and aldehydes. Fleur de Peau does not smell like a specific Chanel or Guerlain perfume, but certain aspects of it share a familiarity to old school classics from these brands. There are those who also dislike the perfume due to the strong carrot note in the opening. I find the carrot note charming in that it adds a vegetal warmth. Iris can be cold and aloof, so the carrot, pink pepper, and sandalwood warm this scent up a bit. It's a lovely balance. It's a floral perfume, sure, but it isn't quite that simple. It's complex and smells different depending on the wearer. I find that it also is changes drastically depending on the weather. I prefer to wear this in cooler weather as it can feel stuffy to me in anything over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Overall, this is signature scent material. It makes me think of a freshly bathed ballerina (is that weird?) with her long hair slicked back in a bun, the soft leather smell of her slippers mingling with her natural body smell and the soapiness from her recent shower. In terms of my favorite clean and musky favorites, this leads the pack along with Chanel 1957 and Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc.

I love this fragrance my whole heart. It's one of the very few perfumes where I can't really pick out the individual notes, it's well blended, so beautifully that it feels like a single, seamless scent. It doesn't remind me of anything else, yet I knew it before. The only things I can confidently detect are pepper and carrot, but the rest remains a mystery to me, and honestly, I don't want to solve it, I'd rather just get lost in it. The first time I smelled it, I instantly felt like I already knew it from somewhere. I still have no idea where from, and that endless chase for the answer only fuels my love for this fragrance. Sometimes the hallways, towels, or candles in a luxury spa or hotel smell a bit like this, but there it's fleeting and ephemeral. I own both the EDP and the hair mist, I'm still waiting to get the solid perfume, and I'll probably end up buying the EDT and any other Diptyque product carrying this name, because THAT'S how much I love this scent. The only thing I don't like is that I can't really overspray it. A few sprays on the neck, behind ears, clothes, or wrists are more than enough for it to smell great and for me to enjoy it. But I love it so much that I tend to overspray anyway, and then for about 15–20 minutes an unpleasant aldehydic note starts to stick out.But well, that's a self-control issue on my part

I finally found my perfect skin scent! Not too musky, not too bright, not too floral. It's starts out almost like a slightly spicy herbal soap mixed with earthy soil, the smell of a someone who spends a lot of time gardening, something Beatrix Potter might wear. But it also has a butteriness to it that really shines in the dry down. I was surprised there's no popcorn note here. It must be the ambrette. I've never smelled ambrette before so I don't know. I love how it evokes not just one mood but a lifestyle! It's the scent of a 1940's lady's hatbox and wardrobe. She could be a mother, she could be a responsible older sister. It's someone you trust, someone who calms you and has a meloncholic magnetism about them. Someone who is interested in having outdoor adventures as well as special afternoon dinners. It's also perfectly unisex, but the story it provokes in my mind surrounds a female more. On a man, this would make me imagine a cobbler or mail carrier. Someone who spends a lot of his time around soft leathers and woods. It's attractive either way to me. I love it the more I smell it. And despite being a skin scent, the projection and scent trail is amazing!

First Impression - In a matter of minutes this goes through the following transition on me: At first I had the impression of a waxy crayon like scent - not bad or anything, it just simply reminded me of crayons. Then it was definitely some kind of sweet incense and in a minute it smells like a sweet incense scented soap . Four hours later I catch whiffs of buttery sweet scent (not sure what to call this) from my skin. buttery. I guess I have a warm and dry type of skin, so you may get a different vibe depending on your skin chemistry. I bought all of the Olivier Pescheux creations in my collection blindly because his nose just works so well with my skin and nose that he never once disappointed me. R.I.P. Adore as always. A week later my consistent impression with this scent is as follows: Spicy, waxy carrot, root, crayon that settles into a vegetal sweet warm spicy scent.

Opened with a blast of spicyness that tickled my nose. Was not what I was expecting, and made me totally write off the perfume.... until it settled on my skin. I’m in absolute love. I think I’ve found my perfect skin scent signature. It just feels so me. Like a second skin. How special it is absolutely justifies the price. Similar to glossier you only in spirit, totally different scents. Incomparable in fact. Musky, floral, soft, warm... I can totally smell the carrot note. I’m finding I really like the subtle earthy sweetness of carrot and carrot seeds in perfumes. 9/10. Longevity is acceptable for what it is, silage is intimate but definitely there. edit: Longevity goes above and beyond. I always thought people were exaggerating when they said certain perfumes clung to their skin even after a shower. Don’t be fooled by the intimate silage, this perfume LASTS.

Held off before writing this review because this perfume represents so much to me emotionally. I bought it a year ago for my 23rd birthday at the airport and since then I have purchased 2 other bottles (and I never repeat buy fragrances especially not for the price so that tells you something) . I cannot describe how much I love it . What I will say is I often thought it didn’t last or I wouldn’t be able to smell it after spraying it on me but then I would get compliments on it literally hours into the work day from other people. I also never get compliments on perfumes other than this one which is crazy. I also think it performs better when you are slightly too warm - it smells more airy-spicy . When it’s cold it’s more leathery . I used to wear glossier You when I was a teen so this feels like the grown up version which makes me emotional lol

This is my favourite Dipytique fragrance. It's such an elevated earthy, floral and amber scent that doesn't make you smell like old. You smell rich. Like you own a summer home in the south of France. It's clean but the base notes give it grounding so it doesn't float away on you? I feel so classy whenever I wear this and I've grown to love iris and amber in fragrances this year. I do feel like the earthy + floral vibe could use something to sweeten it up? So I love to pair it with Loccitane Osmanthus EDT which BOTH have carrots and amber in them?? Very similar notes. But the Osmanthus EDT brightens up Fleur De Peau with it's juicy fruity notes and it smells like... I'm in a lush green meadow in the early summer surrounded by flowers, fruit trees with a sparkling fruit mocktail in hand and... freshly grown carrots at my feet.

Please don’t get me wrong. It smells amazing insanely good. To me, it reminds me of melancholy, something pure, simple and clean. In best possible way. Call me mad but it brings back memories of my parents buying vinyl records, me listening to it as a kid. We loved music. Not sure why it feels that way, but I get melancholic 😮 Then I got even more crazier, found out that aldehyde components do belong to vinyl production. Bingo! Upon first sniff, I got teleported to 10 year old me. I smiled. Performance: not as I wish. This is clean scent, it doesn’t not meant to be in your face. Love musk and powder add ons. Yet, I think it could have more powerful mode. I am enjoying this for personal memory. If you’re looking for a best mode, this is not it. It may get polarising reviews, not everyone’s cup of tea.

I never believed in wearing perfume for compliments. Heck, I thought getting complimented was a myth. But this is BY FAR the one perfume in my collection I keep getting asked about. Fleur de Peau is subtle, non-offensive but still made its presence known: first with a gentle knock of pink peppers to clear your olfactory senses, and then to a soft bed of powdery flowers to accompany you for hours and days. It’s a very healing and comforting scent for both you and the people around you. The thing is, Fleur de Peau doesn’t seem to work for everyone’s skin chemistry. You might even have to change your soap to make it work. Try a few sprays on skin (the magic doesn’t happen on paper), see it through the dry down, think about it and repeat as necessary.

In theory, I should really love Fleur de Peau and I have owned it previously, but I sold it on because I just couldn't seem to get over the veggie carrot note. I got a free sample recently, and I do enjoy it in small doses. But it's still there. Something unsettling to me. Ugh. I so badly want to love it. EDIT: I've been wearing this on and off since I re-visited it, and I'm annoyed to now finally enjoy it - dare I say I crave to sniff it. Hallelujah, I can get over the wet carrot smell. Now I kind of want a bottle again. What the actual F. I've never had such a complicated relationship with a fragrance like I do with this one. EDIT AGAIN: I bought a bottle (again) because I now love it lol. It takes time to appreciate this one I think.

This is what I imagine an upper east sided girl to smell like. She is elegant, beautiful, she doesn’t need heavy makeup but loves a good black eyeliner on her waterline with a shiny but neutral gloss. She has a crazy side, but shes not trashy, she hides her wildness. She is the epitome of a Greek goddess wearing a plain black biker leather jacket. Fleur de peau is what I imagine the body scent of the girl I described above to be. I imagine this is what she would smell like naturally, without any perfume or anything. This is what I imagine that girl waking up smelling like. It’s musky, sweet, it’s extremely sensual, I would even say it’s a turn on. (Unfortunately however she doesn’t last a very long time and she is very expensive)

This is a very soft, nostalgic fragrance to me. It evokes the clean, powdery scent of perfumed bar soaps and vintage vanity powders from the 80s and 90s. The composition centers around musk, supported by a noticeable iris that gives it a cosmetic, powdery feel, with a subtle hint of pepper adding softness rather than spice. Everything is delicate and understated, creating a true skin-scent effect. Performance is quite weak on my skin it sits extremely close to the skin almost immediately, with low projection and short longevity. I see it more as a comforting, clean fragrance to reapply throughout the day. While pleasant and nostalgic, I do question whether the price is fully justified given its performance.

The ultimate powder. If I were ever forced to choose a single signature scent for the rest of my life (anxiety 😱) - FdP would be the one. For those wondering how it compares to Glossier You - at some point, I had both for a year+, and while I can appreciate some similarities, they are wildly different. You don't need both, though. You would make a great affordable signature for a Millennial - it's different enough on everyone, doesn't scream young, doesn't scream vintage, versatile enough to work in different occasions and seasons. But I would always choose FdP over it - it's much more sophisticated, powdery, lighter, sweeter, and more elegant. Worth every penny.

This perfume smells to me like a Sunday morning of you taking a shower and then after, you start baking carrot cake and open the windows in your kitchen to smell the small garden of flowers outside your house (specifically iris/violets/roses), it's like the mixture of your own clean skin after a shower, the flowers outside your house, the sun going inside the house through the window and a sweet smell of carrots from the carrot cake you're preparing to bake. Smells so peaceful and soft, like a very peaceful Sunday morning.

Another diptyque magic (I am reviewing the parfum version here, which is a bit less sweet, and more unisex, than the newer eau de toilette). It is noted as a skin scent by many but I'd say it has more of its own personality and profile than a typical skin scent. It has decent staying power too. The iris and powdery notes are also not overpowering which makes this less heavy than other perfumes of this ilk. I'd say this is one of the best of the diptyques; safe for wearing anywhere.

The first scent association i got from this was a hug from my mom during my childhood years. This is exactly what it smelled like. To me, it’s a dry powdery musk iris perfume, i do get the “carrot” note, especially when i first got it. Now a year later my nose doesn’t register it as much. The ambrette, carrot and pink pepper notes give it that dry effect, but it’s never sharp or unpleasant. Fleur de Peau Is simply exquisite. It’s tidiness in a bottle. I love it so much.

This perfume feels like mother-love. It's soft, enveloping, cozy...and hard-working: on me it lasts at least 8 hours. It's simultaneously elegant and approachable. I was sharing a computer screen with a co-worker while we looked at some documentation, and they took several deep breaths through their nose, then turned to me and said, "that's just a beautiful smell." So, perhaps that's the best way to summarize it: it's a beautiful smell :)

The first spray reminds me of baby lotion, but the dry down smells like a more powdery version of Byredo’s La Tulipe. This was a blind buy, and I’m so glad I picked it up. 😍❤️ i sprayed it on the morning before work, and I could still smell it on my skin even after I showered that night. It’s such a gorgeous scent. I keep smelling my wrist the whole day and I never get tired of the scent. I’ll definitely repurchase it when I run out.

I did not vibe with this at all at first, and couldn't understand what everyone was talking about, especially with all the comparisons to Glossier You, which was my signature scent through college. However, upon smelling it for the fourth or fifth time, something suddenly clicked for me. Glossier You graduated and is now a mature, sophisticated, and eloquent woman. I can't get enough of it. This is full bottle-worthy for me.

for me, this is a hidden gem, I was window shopping when my eyes spotted it, and I was like how didn't I spotted u before, and the love story started after the first sniff...beautiful relaxing opening that can bring peace to your soul...wait for the dry down that will pull u to your happy space...im addicted to this right now Over all 10/10

This is a very beautiful aldahydic Iris/root carrot that turns clean and soapy. Think modern version of aldahydes. Gets a little creamy like a silky lathererd expensive soap. This is such a beauty. If this scent were a woman she would be beautiful, chic, and effortless without trying.(I'm also in my 30's, no old lady in sight)

Second review after 2 years.. In my second bottle now.. This is a masterpiece of a fresh fragrance ..Beast mode lasts for ever literally you can smell it even after showering..dry down is heaven .. if you like musky fresh smells that are also mysterious and unique look no further. It's an amazing scent.. Kudos Diptyque!

This scent might not be for everyone, but it’s definitely for me. It almost makes me feel emotional.. ‘Mother’ is the word that comes to mind. Not my own mother specifically, but a feeling that’s comforting, nurturing, yet crisp and fresh. I think this is the scent I want my daughter to associate with me.

Powdery iris, musky ambrette with a hint of smoke and an overall soft, soapy-clean finish. It carries a vintage feel, with a quiet melancholy that is both deeply familiar and comforting. Wearing Fleur de Peau feels like being held by a loved one when life is at its most difficult.

I enjoyed it very much because I love me a powdery musky scent , though I found the longevity of this very short. I was glad I had a sample because honestly for the longevity i wouldnt get a full bottle but i enjoyed the scent very much still so I used it as a bedtime fragrance.

The scent put me off for a few seconds, before I understood it was the price of memories rushing through my head and skin. This fragrance brought me back to my early childhood, to Southern France, traditional villages, blazing sun and open markets. Instant favourite!

What is this dry down, that you can’t keep away from and keep getting whiffs days and days after applying the perfume. It’s a moody perfume in my imagination, so chic and sophisticated. Like aearing crispy white shirt and jeans and a trench and it’s raining outside.

To be honest it’s one of my favorite “smells” I’ve ever smelled lol. I guess in perfumery, that makes it my signature scent. It makes me happy. It’s never a bad idea. As close to perfume perfection I have found. I’ll wear this for as long as they make it.

The most beautiful angel aura I could ever wear. I’ve never been a fan of most clean girl scents, but this has such a beautiful Victorian touch. I crave her each day and am distraught she’s almost empty. Finally a perfume I will be forever loyal to.

Absolutely stunning skin scent. It reminds me of Retrospect by Merit or You by Glossier. It is a plush, creamy, faintly cosmetic like scent skin scent. It smells like waxy vintage lipstick it the most beautiful way. I find it truly additive.

So beautiful and clean~ this might take the place of Leau Papier for my favorite from Diptyque! If you're put off, try the hair mist or EDT. Trust that the citrus and magnolia of those versions may take the edge off.

I really didn’t want to love this but to my nose it’s unfathomably divine. Aldehydes and Iris are my addiction. Wish my sweat smelt like this. To anyone who’s says vintage/grandma I’m sorry but you’re boring.

I love this one! My signature scent. Funny reading the comments some people said it has grandma vibe. To me it smells like my 10 months old son. You know the baby scent that makes you fall in love with them.

Fleur de Peau opens with a lovely iris on my skin: slightly carroty and mostly woody. There is nothing overly metallic or rooty, nor is it excessively starchy thanks to a discreet buttery sensation of orris. What soon follows is a soft, vaporous white musk light as a feather. Tiny sparkles of fruity spiciness and fruity liqueur nuances stemming respectively from pink pepper and ambrette pop out here and there, but are rather short-lived. The musk feels mostly clean without evoking laundry products, partly owing to the vegetal sensation of ambrette. Iris and musk then start this long, graceful waltz. There is at first a very faint animalic nuance about 30 minutes after initial spray. Combined with the soft creaminess of iris, it creates a fleeting illusion of a plush yet lightweight suede. Later on, as this humming warmth dissipates, the airy musk is infused with this cool, almost minty sensation of geranium and the fluffy, delicate sweetness of heliotrope. The resulting chiffony skin scent is at times clean and vegetal, and sensual with a delicate musky sweetness. I suppose the name comes from "à fleur de peau" in French, and it indeed stays extremely close to skin. I actually got a 9-hour longevity, but as the scent itself is very diaphanous, I frequently thought it disappeared, only to find it still lurking around when sticking my nose on my wrist. And the last 3 hours mostly smells like the kind fo clean white musk in the late dry down of Penhaligon's The Revenge of Lady Blanche and Byredo Blanche. While I'm not bowled over by Fleur de Peau, as a fragrance inspired by clean skin scent, it's solidly made in the effortless elegant style of Diptyque, easygoing without being banal. I'd definitely recommend it to those who are looking for a gauzy musky skin scent with a beautiful iris touch.

I can't seem to make up my mind with this one. On my skin, it has a soft powdery quality, but not sweetly or cosmetically. It reminds me more of something quiet and almost sacred, like the air in a Catholic church where incense has long faded and only a trace of ash-like stillness remains. That is the main impression I get at first: calm, slightly dry, and reflective. As it settles, it becomes cleaner and more intimate. I start to notice something like freshly washed white linens—crisp, warmth from the body, and slightly lived-in rather than sterile. There is also a musky, cologne-like layer underneath it, as if someone else has been close to you and their scent has lightly stayed behind. What stands out most is how feminine it feels overall. Even with the musk and the subtle masculine trace, the fragrance still reads as distinctly feminine to me—not in a sweet or floral way, but in a quiet, natural, skin-like way. The image it brings to mind is very specific: freshly laundered sheets after sleeping next to someone. Nothing dramatic or romantic in a loud sense—just shared space, warmth, and closeness. The next morning, there’s still a faint trace of his cologne in the fabric, and the feeling of getting ready for the day, maybe even going to church afterward. It’s a fragrance that feels like presence rather than performance.

A truly clean skin scent. The opening honestly challenged me quite a bit and smelled very stuffy, dusty, and almost mothball-like at first, which I really didn’t enjoy. But after around 10 minutes, it transformed into a soft, skin-like, soapy, incredibly clean, and genuinely pleasant scent. It never screams for attention and feels very unlikely to cause headaches or nausea. It’s the kind of fragrance that stays close to the skin and smells like someone who always takes good care of their hygiene and personal grooming. I think this would be an amazing skin scent especially for people who dislike sharp, loud, overpowering fragrances and prefer calm, linear, easygoing perfumes instead. Since it’s a skin scent, the projection is naturally quite low, but the longevity on me was surprisingly good , I could still smell it on my skin throughout the entire day. The scent profile itself is not particularly unique, and I already own several fragrances with a similar vibe, but it’s still very enjoyable to smell. I probably wouldn’t make it my signature fragrance, but on hot and overwhelming days when I don’t know what to wear, I could easily reach for it because of how calm, soft, and clean it feels.
