L'etre Aime Homme

I have just received a sample from a friend and I loved this fragrance, it's different, unique. It reminds me the smell I felt at the first time got into a chinese herbs pharmasy in China years ago, it is indiscribable, very nice to wear in the brazilian weather. It's going to be my next purchase, no doubt !!

Ohhh soooo good. Very similar to l'homme sage in its interpretation of imortelle - but the celery bite is a fascinating touch. it sounds scary but it's really rather interesting - like on the end of a sniff you suddenly find it; maybe something you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking for it. wraps up the deep warm woodiness into a super clean finish without cooling it. This frag is great for November days walking through a city (Chicago, specifically, to me)

Herbal and with everlasting flower, it is a travel in Corsica in France. Fresh and clean, can by for all seasons and all ages but more masculine to my opinion. 6/10

Divine L’Etre Aime Homme (translates as “the beloved”) is a dry, charred, sheer composition based around immortelle. Immortelle (Helichrysum italicum) is a scrubby yellow-flowered plant in the aster family, native to the Mediterranean. It has a sweet, ambery scent, often reminiscent of maple syrup. this is a pretty common genre of (masculine-of-center) Oriental but it’s not really my thing. It’s a rather gloomy and “mysterious” rather than friendly style of amber — the opposite of yesterday’s cheerful Tango — and within a few minutes the dry woods dominate and it’s downright forbidding. But it’s still classical French perfumery, still more graceful and civilized than the average instance of class. The woods aren’t harsh or chemical; they taper seamlessly into (equally dry) herbal-abstract finesse. This is a highly competent, hard-to-impress man, brooding about responsibilities he doesn’t expect anyone to understand, staring out at the desert. He has magnetism but he’s unreachable and remote.

I wanted to like this because I really liked Divine's L'Homme Sage, but this makes my head ache. At first the scent has a pungent soapy smell in it. Then after a while the scent gets softer, warmer and spicier and it's quite nice for a moment, but the spicy softness fades away too quickly and then it smells like soap again and gives me a migraine.

This is such a weird one. Opens up with a blast of soapy immortelle and basil, the dry down is green with a heavy celery note absolutely horrendous for me. Try before buying

As I saw immortelle listed in L'Etre Aime Homme I immediately had to try this composition. While I'm definitely an Immortelle freak, I've to admit that this note is quite hard to handle as its smell is so recognizable that can very easily become overwhelming and dominating. Only a few compositions so far have managed to give full splendour to this ingredient: 1) Annick Goutal Sables (A brutal aromatic blast. Extremely realistic) 2) Histoires De Parfums 1740 (burnt sugar) 3) Etat Libre D'Orange Like This (foody) L'Etre Aime Homme brings immortelle to another level where its typical love-or-hate effect is drastically muted and the note is carefully dosed as a side ingredient to just give some sustain and body to the fragrance. What comes out is a quite successful blend of aromatic herbs and woods with citrus and lavender on top. Moderately powerful yet not exactly subtle. Not as good as L'Homme De Coeur or L'Homme Sage but overall a nice fragrance. Rating:7/10

This is utterly gorgeous. Faintly medicinal, herbal and subtly different to anything I've ever smelled. Masterfully blended the fragrance exudes a depth and richness that few can match. The very opposite to synthetic, unremarkable designer makes. Recognising the uniqueness of this scent may take time, I didn't like it at first but now I find it as good as it gets.

The celery note is the showrunner here. Green kitchen herbs.
