Persian Musk

Dixit & Zak offers some of my favortie scents. Almost all of them have a long list of notes that are blended exceptionally well. I think Persian Musk is far better than most fragrances but falls a bit short compared to, for example, Oud Berry, Emperor's Court, Hindi Tacac, and Rising Mysore. The biggest issue I have is with the less than typical sillage and longevity. The notes are lovely but many hard hard to pick out and then it does not stay around as long as it should. If I was offered a bottle of this I would wear it all the time since it is distinctive and elegant. But since it doesn't rise to the top of this house's offerings I can't give it a love.I do like the Jasmine Sambac and the mix of lemoln and Lime. I will try this in the summer when it might be just what I am looking for for that time of year. I feel lucky to have been able to sample it.

I mainly get smokiness from persian Musk. Charcoal-wood burning in the background with beautiful roses in the front. It's weird how much irrelevant my experience (tested 3 different times) is to the reviews before me. Naturals perfumes are very subjective, and I think I experienced this the most here. Leans VERY masculine on my skin.

Persian Musk is an elegant woody amber fragrance. There is a persistent lemon/lime top note, clean jasmine, nutmeg, smoky woods, all on a base of faint yet rich and enjoyable musk. I love the lemon/lime. It is a unique and welcomed departure from the typical bergamot opening. However, I hardly detect any of the other notes listed. It is linear and not super layered but still a good fragrance with obviously quality materials. Persian Musk is my introduction to this house.
