Dolce Shine

I am not coming here to say that Dolce Shine is a masterpiece perfume, but I genuinely believe that it deserves a higher rating than 3.69, which is what it scores when I am reviewing it. From the entire Dolce line, Dolce Garden and Dolce Shine are the best. With the caveat that I have not tried Dolce Blue Jasmine... But back to the original point, Shine is an absolute must for summertime for those who want a perfectly balanced scent between various white flowers, tropical fruits, cool/ozonic and warm/solar notes, salt, citrus and woods. I promise you, it’s spectacular in offering the wearer the best of all these accords. Effortless, pretty, fun, flirty, fruity, tropical, sweet and salty in the background, it’s a joy to wear Dolce Shine! It makes me feel like I am fully enjoying the best, bright and beautiful sunny day every time I am wearing this perfume! For me, it’s a mood booster for sure! At the time of launch, the world was in a terrible state because of the pandemic, and I m feel that this might be one of the reasons why Shine is not so popular as Garden. Cause it should be! I hope that my review will inspire more people to go to their local perfume store and give this beauty a shot. I’m sure more will come to appreciate this little underrated gem from the Dolce line. Performance is not the best, but it lasts a decent amount of time especially with heavy spraying. I get a full day wear with moderate to minimal sillage! Priced fairly decent especially if bought from discounted sites for the way it performs.

I love tuberose and got convinced by reviews who were complaining about tuberose being too strong (tuberose is never too strong for me lol) and I was looking for some tropical vacation fresh scent possibly with tuberose. I get very little tuberose in dry down, but almost non at opening, I strongly dislike those solar notes which I think make it bit synthetic. Although opening is bit scratchy, dry down is definitely nicer, actually I would say creamy like creamy lemon ice cream, if only first hour wasn’t that chemical. I’m forcing my self to like it and honestly it’s not as bad as it was at first, especially dry down in nice, maybe it just needs summer and humid weather to get in to its full glory. Can’t wait to test it on the beach. EDIT: So we had couple of hot days and I can already tell I’m happy I didn’t sell this perfume, it’s such a lovely summer scent, it acts totally different than in winter. It’s not as scratchy and I can get tuberose right away from beginning. Actually find my self grabbing it almost every time when planning to stay outdoors or evening patio sitting. It’s very feminine, I love it for now🤷🏻♀️. UPDATE: I just received sample of Replica Beach Walk in my mail, is identical to Dolce Shine at last on my skin.

This is the most convincing V&R Salty Flower dupe I've smelled so far. It's the tiniest bit more sweet and feminine than Salty Flower. But the heart and dry down is nearly identical (on my skin). That being said... This is not an overtly tropical beach scent. It doesn't pull a super strong coconutty spf smell. It's not a fruity cocktail. It's more like a big white linen bedsheet that's been used as a beach blanket several times without being washed. A sandy towel. Dry green grass growing out of the sand dunes. The ocean beating on some minerally jetty stones. Sun-drenched skin that's started to sweat a bit. The breeze coming off the ocean and drying the sea water from your hair. Your sun glasses sliding down your nose because your skin is greasy from your lotion. Your big floppy sun hat. The infinite blue sky during the hottest part of the day. That feeling you get when you're lying so still and you can almost feel heat cycling through your skin. Your body trying to give off heat as quickly as it absorbs it from the sun. This scent is an experience (at least for me, because I spent many years living next to the beach). This can transport you to a very particular place. Very very impressed. I want a full bottle!

This is such a lovely perfume from beginning to end. I enjoyed it the whole time! The opening is bright and fruity in such a fresh, sunny way. The fruit is not too syrupy, synthetic, or sweet, it just smells fresh. It smells almost more tropical in its initial spray than the dry-down. The midway dry down smells like creamy, sunny honeysuckles. I know honeysuckle is not listed as a note, but that's what the blend reminded me of. It was so happy and warm smelling, but not too cloying (as florals/honeysuckle can sometimes be). It's probably the solar notes and salt that help balance out that sweetness. In the final drydown I get more of the musk and sandalwood, and it smells like a floral sunset - floral and bright, but a little deeper. As you can see, in all three of my descriptions of the phases, I use "sun" in some form. The solar notes really come out to play on me, and it smells divine and different at each phase. It does feel tropical and beachy, but not in a typical sense. More like, a sunny, breezy day walking the boardwalk in a sun dress at a fair near the ocean. I feel like its name and color definitely match the scent! Probably a pretty safe blind buy. Really glad I picked this up on a whim!

A tropical fruity fresh floral, tuberose here is tolerable and made fresh with the solar notes and ozonic notes. It definitely has a “solar” vibe and leans more tropical than white floral. I was testing perfumes in Ulta for something new and decided to get this for something fun and cheerful that is not a rose perfume. I love white florals as well as I love rose perfumes and sometimes I just want something different than rose, but white florals can be cloying and heavy for me sometimes. This is a white floral that has been made fun and fruity and aquatic so if you like those types of perfumes this will be something that you will be able to live with. I was afraid the longevity would not be very good compared to my past purchases of this line but it’s not bad and not ground breaking either. I do have to reapply it after about 4 to 5 hours. It does not have a very big sillage but noticeable to those close by which is nice too.

Surprisingly, this perfume smells so sunny and optimistic. Sure it's not mind-blowing or revolutionary, but does it cheer me up in the grey and rainy weather of the UK? Sure does! I wouldn't call this a mango scent at all tbh, but more like a fresh and slightly sweet pear, which is perfect for me because it reminds me of the summer days in my childhood when I would eat pears from my grandpa's prized pear tree! Quite floral too, so I pair this with a perfume oil that's deeper in scent (like a lemongrass or amber) to give the perfume a more mature oomph. The bottle is adorable with the cute flower on top and if you're diligent, you can find this perfume for really affordable prices. I know the Range is selling this stuff for £35 for EDP 50ml currently and you can get it on eBay for relatively cheap prices! I defo wouldn't pay full price for this but if you can find it at a good price, it's worth it!

i think this perfume is absolutely stunning and its SUCH a staple for me !! its bright and refreshing, summery and happy. it captures being out in the sun during a warm day in such a beautiful way. when you first spray it, the citrus lemon/grapefruit notes of it really shines through. after the dry down, you notice the more warm, floral scents of the jasmine and the sea salt. i actually dont notice too much of the mango, sweet notes at all, but it could be a personal thing. my only con really is that it doesnt last long at all on my skin !! it will completely disappear after about an hour or two. its a very subtle scent and the sillage is quite intimate in my opinion, you definitely wont be able to fill a room up with this scent but i think its beautiful that way, making it a lot more delicate and youthful feeling. i absolutely adore this perfume :)

I was so upset when I learned that Ulta no longer carried this fragrance since it was always the highlight of my trip there to go into the fragrance section and absolutely douse myself in this. Dolce shine smells like the perfect summers day. Like a warm hug and sunshine. I tend to favor more winter and fall based gourmands so it's rare that I like this fragrance. I did not pick up on any mango in this but instead got a sweet lychee instead. There was a certain baby powdery smell to this as well which really roped me in. This is the perfect "clean girl" fragrance. It perfectly encapsulates taking a shower in your hotel room and getting ready for a family dinner after a long day at the beach filled with with shared laughter and smiles. There's nothing quite like it.

A perfect summer fragrance. Not something I would have picked up based on notes but got a sample and promptly got a full bottle. All those notes that could have pulled it really strongly one way or another yet I find it holds a nice middle ground. Not too overly floral, more soft florals. Not too juicy fruity, just a touch to add sweetness. Not too beachy, just a slight hint but not salty and obvious about it. The base keeps it softly grounded and it projects well without being aggressive in its scent bubble. Wafts like a sheer curtain in a summer breeze. I pulled this out yesterday for first time since last year and got three compliments on it. I find it well blended and a super pretty easy wear with softness and effortless summer trail.

Cannot stress enough how much i love this. This doesn't smell like a typical perfume at all, and it definitely is very sweet and young. So if you like spicey mature fragrances this is not for you. Whoever I love it, ever since i first bought it nothing else has compared. The tuberose and the mango go together like nothing else. I got so many compliments on this. It makes me smell fresh, you, and clean. Yes, it's very tropical, and maybe smells a bit like a very scented soap, etc. but I don't mind at all. My goal is not to smell like I'm wearing perfume, my goal is to smell like a fantasy. And with this fragrance, an image of a young and fruitful girl gets painted in one's head. Will definitely be repurchasing.

This is sunshine in a bottle! Don't let the negative reviews persuade you - you have to try this for yourself. This is the only flanker from the line that I like. The mango note captures the powdery essence of the fruit perfectly. This has a satin finish and is sweet but not in a sickly way. The white florals are there but you're enjoying them sitting next to the ocean in the sun. While this perfume is made for spring/summer, I've been enjoying this in cold weather as a pick me up. The woody base-notes give it a grounded depth that you don't get with all yellow, summer scents. I lucked into this bottle at Winners and I'm so glad I blind bought it. It's unique and I will certainly buy a backup!

This perfume is an anomaly! It’s crazy how many things you can visualize while smelling this perfume. My initial whiff, I saw myself eating honeycombs in a glass garden at a tea table. My mom got the sea. She smelled the salt of the ocean, a little sand, and face sunscreen. After saying that, I saw it too! When I finally read the notes and saw the mango, instantly I smelled Del Monte sun fresh mango in extra light syrup. It smells identical to those delicious mango pieces I ate every summer during my childhood. Unfortunately, not very long lasting, but beautiful and sweet. The jasmine is a perfect partner to the mango scent.

Love love LOVE!!! 😍 This is what I wished Mambo by Liz Claiborne smelled like. I'm a fan of salty, solar beachy scents so this is heaven. Picture yourself by the ocean. An hour ago you applied creamy, tropical sunscreen. Then you went for a salty swim and now you're basking in the warm sun, beads of sweat glistening on your skin. That is what Dolce Shine smells like. It's definitely in the "your skin but better" category. I can't wait to wear this in the winter when the city is blanketed in snow and the wind is howling, and I'm yearning for warmth and sunny days. You will be my hope in wintertime, dear Shine.

I absolutely love quince, ever since tender chance, so this is an absolute must try for me. And yes it's just so cute. It does seem like the dolce line just piggybacks off of marc Jacob's last years daisy line. Last year it was yellow daisy sunshine, this year its yellow dolce shine. 2 yrs ago marc jacobs did purple, last year dolce did. 3 yra ago daisy did pink. 2 yrs ago dolce did. If the flower vase bottle wasn't a big enough hint, there's your pattern. Here's hoping next years dolce is blue instead of orange...

This is such a beautiful summer perfume. It is indeed most similar to beach walk but it lacks coconut and adds a brightness from the fruity mango. I've never had raw mango, but to me this smells like mango hi-chew in the opening which is very nostalgic. The notes then blend into the brightest, happiest concoction. The combination of tuberose and mango create a very creamy scent while the salt adds a slight ocean breeze. The name and bottle are so fitting it just makes you feel happy.

Natural fruits and flowers are not what to look for in Dolce Shine. To me they are almost too abstract to be recognized, in the best possible way; Molecules play beautifully, and evoke the fresh lightness of air, warmed by early sun rays. It is a modern scent, painting with light saturation pictures of relaxed and cheerful moments, lighter days, mornings on holidays. This is not getting much love at all online, but to me it is a uniquely uplifting, well done brightly airy scent.

I just bought a few samples of This as a blind buy and I’m so happy I did. There was this perfume from Aeropostale, called Hailey, and it was floral and sweet. I’ve been looking for something very similar to this and this is the closest I’ve found. It smells a bit mature because of the florals, but it is not old lady stuffy. I originally bought this because I wanted a perfume with salty notes. I don’t really pick up on the salty notes, but I’m very happy with this perfume.

Blind bought this today and I’m in love! Mango, jasmine & tuberose are the main notes I smell. It’s a creamy fruity floral that smells tropical even though there’s no coconut note. I get a touch of a soft clean musk after this sits on my skin for awhile. Light, breezy & fresh. Perfect for summer. Dry down reminds me of a fruity tropical shampoo or body wash 10/10! A new favorite summer scent for me!

I love this fragrance. I don't get a lot of citrus or fruitiness - I wouldn't smell it and think 'fruit.' I get the solar notes, the salt, a bit of creaminess from the sandalwood, some sweetness from the fruit and a touch of florals, mainly a rich, NOT bubblegum, tuberose (which doesn't bother me surprisingly, though I usually don't like white florals.) It smells decadent, beachy and tropical to me.

This is the absolutely perfect scent for summer! It’s absolutely gorgeous, fun and just a bottle of sunshine! It’s a smidge creamy in the opening, then starts to feel a bit tropical and then a bright airy floral! The base is warm without getting too earthy or woody. This will be a summer staple in my collection! It’s pretty affordable too!

This one has good lasting power for being a edt. It’s bright and happy, perfect for summer. Starts of very fruity, manly I get the mango and grapefruit. Then in the dry down it becomes sweeter, a little bit more floral a creamy. I really like this perfume.

I love this perfume and it's being discontinued - it's gone from the D&G website. Time to grab a backup bottle!

I go back and forth over this fragrance. There are times when I wear it and get a beautiful blend of fresh, floral notes. There are other times when I get more of the fruity notes and it strikes me as just okay. There have even been a couple of times when a light hint of something banana-like sneaks up on me in the dry down. What I can say is that I always have a positive experience when I wear this, whether it’s a “like” day or an absolute “love” day. I had an affinity for grapefruit since I was a child, so that’s no surprise. I don’t know what a quince is, but it definitely compliments the other fruit notes. As for the mid-notes, I’m pretty much a sucker for anything with a jasmine-tuberose-orange blossom combo. I’m still getting familiar with what solar and ozonic notes mean in a fragrance, but this overall admixture is beautifully bright and upbeat. The base notes are soothingly sweet without your typical cloying tones of old standards like vanilla and amber. I’m glad the fragrance still smells as pleasant when I got it home as it did in the store. Although I do wish it lasted longer on my skin (about 2-3 hours), it’s still a beautiful fragrance for summertime and sunshiny days. A pleasant buy for someone who wants something light and airy.

All the typical olfactory tropes for summer are combined into one pretty scent here: Juicy tropical fruit, heady white flowers and a solar salty skin accord. Dolce Shine has the same creaminess as Dolce Garden, but instead of being a nutty gourmand like that one, it's an airy fruity floral with multiple layers. The opening is full of mango and grapefruit. They're neither candy-sweet nor too sour, just very refreshing. This is clearly a yellow fruit scent, so the bottle color makes sense. And the name is fitting, too - as the fragrance dries down, the florals and solar notes feel like a ray of sunshine on the skin. The warm, fluffy white musk base keeps it from turning flat in the drydown. This is a strong like for me now that it's warm outside. Due to the mouthwatering mango, a note that doesn't always work for me, I find it more lively than other beachy florals. I didn't enjoy it quite as much on colder days, so I think this is a fragrance that needs warm skin to unfold its potential. It has nothing to with Dolce EDP, as you can see from the notes. Performance-wise it's fine, 10 hours later I can still smell it, but only when I sniff my arm directly.

B u t t e r. Sweet creamy butter was my very first thought! When that vanilla infused butter starts to slowly melt on the baking pan buying you just enough time to evenly pour the batter of some sweet heavenly fluff you're about to make. Not sugar cookies for the kids either. More of a grown up caramel dessert. Maybe an egg-y Flan? Or a thick Crème brûlée? Would i love to eat it? Yes! But could I possibly stomach soOo much rich and heavy goodness? No. It is very nice and I like it. Its a playfully mature +/-30ish yr old couple on a date at a summer fair or outdoor art festival passing by the food trucks and deciding on a bag of sweet delicious caramel kettle-corn popcorn and heavy on the butter. I might buy a Mini travel size of this Dolce Shine. Its like having a small bite of that dessert. It satisfies the sweet craving just right that you won't care for another bite for a loOong time.

I've smelled this on a couple of acquaintances who tend to be... slightly histrionic, so my perception on this scent might be a bit biased, but I'll try to be fair. It's a nice sweet mango tropical smell, nothing complex or interesting. I know that it lists a lot of notes but I mostly only get mango with some grapefruit and orange blossom. I would've thought it was a cheap Bath and Body Works body spray or one of those $20 perfumes at Target. Which is why the price is so ridiculous to me!! It best suited for a beachy summer day and might seem a bit out of place in other settings. Overall, an inoffensive and sweet smell that isn't risky, but for the price and how unvarying it is... it's just outrageous.

I smelled this at a Sephora and became obsessed! It's exactly the type of perfume I could see myself wearing in spring and summer: a fruity, fresh scent with a youthful touch. At first the tropical fruits are very noticeable with the white florals there in the background, and later it settles down to an even softer, muted floral with a musky and woody base. It's a comforting scent, perfect for the warmer months. The longevity was slightly upsetting however, I sprayed it on my arm but the smell was nearly gone after about 3h, but I want to give it another try before deciding to buy because I absolutely love the notes :)

This is a pleasant and carefree fragrance. Upon the initial spray, I get the juicy mango and the grapefruit. After a few minutes, the scent acquires an almost soapy quality, which I assume comes from the solar and the ozonic notes that are present, combined with the salt. It smells very clean and fresh. This is a good fragrance to wear when you're out and about on a sunny day going on a picnic or just taking a stroll out in the park while you're in the moment, enjoying yourself. However, since I already own Salty Flower, which gives off a similar vibe and I like better, I will only stick to the travel size.

OMG!!! The opening of this perfume is so delicious!!! I definitely didn't expect this from a designer perfume! The opening smells very very natural, like of the most delicious fruit ever! I thought this is going to be my new favourite summer perfume.. but... after a few minutes I didn't get the sweet fruit anymore and then it gets pretty similar to Giorgio Armani Sun di Gioia, which I like, but I don't love. I wish this opening lasted forever... but it's just there for 5 min and then it's gone...I was very disappointed, but I still might get a full bottle just for that delicious opening :)

The very first thing when I thought when I sprayed this was ‘sunny’ so in this case, I believe that the smell is very name appropriate. I’m not sure what it is about the smell imparticularly that reminds me of sunshine... maybe flowers that tend to bloom in spring and summer? I’m not certain, but I think I notice white flowers and the woods the most. But I don’t think it is an appropriate night fragrance, or even a very romantic perfume. It what I’d call a family friendly scent. Very nice to wear on a family day trip to the park, or an afternoon at the beach.

Pretty summer fragrance that opens with a nice burst of citrusy tuberose and jasmine, and literally 20 seconds of orange blossom, before settling into a pleasant light citrusy fruity musk. The fruit is difficult to quantify, but it smells like more pears than mango or quince. I find Shine to be pleasant.. but it does not smell expensive (particularly past the top notes). It's more like a really nice laundry booster for beach towels, it's got that synthetic tinge (cucumber-ish and some kind of colone) as it approaches base notes.

Dolce Shine kind of surprised me with its strength. It's quite concentrated. It's a bright sunny fragrance with a stronger presence than others in its category. Go light on the sprays to start. Grapefruit adds a bit of tartness to the opening before this lands largely on white florals. Definitely a Spring or Summer daytime scent. Sillage is moderate-strong, longevity is around 6 hours. It's pleasant and I'll use up my travel spray, but probably wouldn't repurchase as I don't feel like this fragrance really fits me.

More fruity than floral, more tangy than sweet (even the florals are on the tangy side, like orange blossom). I get hints of creaminess that it shares with Dolce Garden (much more emphasized there though). I like this more on my hair and clothes as it pulls to solar on my skin, and I get annoyed by solar notes (that note and ozonic ones remind me to much of 1990-s staples). The slight saltiness is just subtle and great. Nice and addictive summer scent all in all but Garden is still more of a favorite to me.

I do like this... but it’s not a love. It’s smells fuzzy and sunny lol I’ll explain: I get mangoes skin rather than the actual juicy fruit itself, followed by a little bit of tuberose, solar notes and salt. I started to buy a back up of this because I heard it was being discontinued.., but changed my mind because the performance isn’t that great and the scent really isn’t that special. If it’s still available when I run out then I’ll repurchase, but I won’t be heart broken if I never replace it

Got this perfume as a blind buy with dolce gabbana garden. Not good as dolce gabbana dolce but it’s pretty nice. The opening is sweet and overwhelming scent, to me it smells like mango/pineapple/citrus mixed up, tropical. But after that it smells very nice like happy warm summer weather which last quite a while about 3-4 hours, then after that soft smell coming out, musk one. This fragrance has pretty good staying power on me, at least 7 hours.

I spent a lot of time at the beach as a kid and this is definitely reminiscent of a day at the beach. You get the solar notes, the salt, and citrus. If there's mango it's the super-ripe mango. The quince and the musk are strong on my skin which is where I think the comparisons to car air fresheners is coming from- but while I HATE all such air fresheners I don't hate this. It's a pleasant fresh scent for a summer day, but isn't quite for me

Amazing, delicious, citrus-fruity scent. It's full of mango and quince. The bottle reflects the mood - summer, yellow citruses, holidays somewhere in Sicily. The fragrance is very light and feminine! Longevity and sillage are excellent. I can smell the scent for twenty-four hours on skin, and the entire next day - on clothes. Fruity-honey masterpiece. It reminds me of Sun di Gioia by Giorgio Armani. I have and like both of them.

What a beautiful scent! I absolutely love tropical notes, so it rubbed me the right way with the sweet, flowery mango scent upon first spray. To be honest, it doesn’t have much of a transformation on my skin or paper, but I don’t mind that. It’s just great - my favorite notes, mango and tuberose - and they smell amazing together. Kind of shampoo-y, but definitely smells expensive. Just my kind of perfume.

Up beat cheerful scent. Pairs great with Victoria Secret's Mango Temptation, or Bright Palms. I believe I paid $60 @ Marshall's for this. I would definitely buy again. When I put a lemon lotion under this for layering it's a beautiful Mediterranean scent. I wouldn't pay full price for this scent as I think Dolce by D&G smells better, but if in a bad mood, this just uplifts the mood after a nice shower.

When I sprayed this the first feelings were Bright and sunny and then I remembered it’s called shine it does have that sunny vibe makes you feel all bright and cheery Can’t smell much of the mango which I was looking forward to, this is a bit floral but very ozonic and sea salt takes over completely a little musky woody on the dry down Overall smells like the seaside sea & sand no joke

A very warm summer scent. Heady florals, exotic fruits warmed up in the sun, and sun kissed salty skin. It's not necessarily very unique, but still quite intriguing. I highly recommend to test this one out before buying a full bottle, as it might be headache inducing for some people. Even I struggle sometimes. Although I can't imagine wearing it anytime except for summer. :)

Not tropical at all, smells mostly floral to me, heavy on jasmine and tuberose. I consider this a spring perfume, not for the summer. Imagine a botanical garden full of fresh flowers. It's almost July however and this is not what I expected to match the season. Weather's too hot for a jasmine floral to me. The fragrance is not bad at all in any case.

Loved this perfume! It reminds me of swimming and tanning in the sun on a breezy day. i love the solar notes and it is just so fresh and clean, more of the white florals than the juicy fruits. Im gonna give this an 8/10 for the scent because i feel like its missing something. for the price, it could be a lot more but its definitely a good one!

I'm not getting ANY of the Mango note that everyone seems to detect. I do get the Quince & grapefruit, but I mostly get pretty florals. The dry down on me is HEAVY woods. I don't really enjoy the dry down too much. This is good for a spring or summer day After this bottle I probably won't repurchase.

Bought this recently, I can’t say it’s my favorite. It’s fruity/floral but not as complex as I would like. I feel like I’ve smelled it many times before. It’s potent, I sprayed onto my forearm and it lasted for about 4 hours. For a floral with a little something, I would go for Gucci flora.

Strong bubblegum tuberose with a burst of citrus in the opening. Then comes some tropical and solar notes which make this smell very summery. It has me longing for warmer weather. I can see myself wearing this to the beach or hanging out by the pool. Pretty perfume, mediocre performance.
