Light Blue Living Stromboli

This frag is amazing. I know it doesn't get too much love. Forgotten. It has all the notes I love, and it is way better than the original Light Blue for me. It gives you this very very simple gentle watery citrus top which blends with a soft herbal aspect. It is so ozonic... this smells like the bluest sky after a light rain over the ocean That smell of fresh air, that is a bit sweet. Add some light citrus to that and you get this. Clean water mixed with the fresh ozonic air, and a bluest sky ever. Imagine that, and you get this smell. People can say it is totally boring... I agree, it is one of the most boring frags I have tried... but oh boy it is boring in an awesome way. Imagine yourself in Italy, on an island, silence, blue sky and a cove where you take the swim. Alone. This is where this frag was born and the place that inspired it. Or, imagine a businessman, fed up with people, work, noise and the city, summer, headache inducing heat... That person goes to this small island, puts up the net between two palm trees and lies down. No one around for miles, a desolate tropical island paradise. Just the wind and sound of the waves coming from the ocean. Shade, cooling sea air and a total peace. This is what this frag smells like. Feels so, light like when you unburden yourself from the world, you turn it off and don't give a damn about anything. Lasting power is for shit, but the smell is divine. Simple yet elegant and sooo smooth. PS: I don't care what ppl say, how poorly this sold but to me, it is one of the most amazing summer smells ever that perfectly captures the essence of water. Not sea water but fresh water in general. One of the rare frags that can break through the 40C+ or 100F+ temperature barrier and be worn without a problem, staying airy light and refreshing all the way through without becoming sweet, cloying or choking anyone in that heat.

So happy I finally managed to acquire a bottle of 125ml, only last month. You see, "Living Stromboli" was discontinued just as "Discover Vulcano" was launched, so if you like the perfume you need to stock up... and why would anyone not love such an aquatic delight? Like a wave splashing on the rocks of a volcanic Mediterranean island, this is the most inspired blend of fresh aquatic and spicy-earthy notes I've ever came across! Ah, but I will never forget the first time I smelled Stromboli during holidays in the volcanic island of Lanzarote. It was the ideal place and time! Apart from the actual smell, I was amazed by the longevity of the perfume on my skin: Well over 7 hours, a rare performance for an aquatic... It's very easy to misjudge this perfume if you don't get into the concept of summer-sea-volcanic/earthy combination. The "dirtiness" exuded from such an otherwise typical aquatic, is so contradictory, attractive and unique. As if you took Versace Pour Homme (2008) and mixed it with spiced mud! Only much better! Overall rating: 8.25/10

This is the fragrance that got me back into collecting. I tried this at the counter on my lunch break for the first time. When I got back to work, a friend of mine came in and gave me a hug. Right away she asked what I was wearing and said with conviction that she was going to buy a bottle for her BF. In fact every girl I know who has smelled this on me has something positive to say about it. My Wife liked it so much that she surprise bought me a bottle of it :) The smell... Spicy and clean. The pink pepper seems to last the whole time on me. Not a typical aqua scent. The woodsy and spicy character of it really sets it apart. Classified as a spring/summer scent but I could rock this any time of the year. Longevity is good. 9+ hours. Sillage is average. 3 hours. The scent is amazing, try it! Bottom line is that girls like it. And Lets be honest, that's what most of us are going for LOL. You wont be disappointed.

D&G Light Blue Living Stromboli is perfect male reply to D&G's Light Blue(female). It's the way the original D&G Light Blue(male) should've been in the first place. It opens with fresh but yet warm citrusy/vetiver combination. Soon, amber finds its way through, creating pleasant calming combination. It draws on the woody side, but a fresh, bit salty, citrusy wood. Geranium is detectable too, but not in a protruding way as in Chanel's PE for example, it just appears in a way to say "Ï'm here too". Peppery notes are detectable in the opening, but I'm not so sure if it's pink pepper, it draws more towards typical white pepper. The best surprise this summer! It emerges as a unique creation in the sea of typical summer fragrances, establishing its position as a prototype for perfect woody/citrusy summer scent.I can't compare or find similar fragrances, you need to try it to see what I mean.

This smells pretty much almost like like the orig. at least to me minus the sourness(agreed) that the orig has, so yeah I act. do prefer this one over the orig. its watery fresh && clean, tolerable && enjoyable for the summer this should have been the light blue for men. LOL && like the previous comments I can get the comparison to ginger ale && I do love ginger ale so why not like this..&& yes it's an aquatic fragrance but its not like other ones I also so agree it does have a classiness to it that makes it stand out && is suitable to wear whenever you please, but like I stated with dreaming in portofino it's going to have to be something you have to try for yourself, it is very nice though I'm sure most will like it! :) O btw the bottle is actually clear it only looks frosted in the pic. && can be found now @ Maces, Nords, && Seph. && most dept. stores. :)

Weather is sunny and temps in the low 90's in my region. Perfect conditions for this fragrance. This is the second day I get to use the 5 ml sample as a daytime scent. At first spray, it reminds me of most aquatic/sport frags that are out there. But the dry down is where this baby shines. Apparently I'm a big fan of vetiver, because I keep reaching for fragrances with this note. So underneath the initial citrus blast, lies this earthy/spicy combo that just feels right. Performance is average; worthy of 4 sprays if you're outdoors. Putting this on my want list. Grade: B+ Update: I now own a bottle and I'm happy with my purchase. This is a limited edition version, so it won't be around forever. Grab it while you can.

This reminds me a lot of ADG, but a bit sweeter, a bit more citrusy. Though it smells similar to some other aquatic fragrances out there, the pink pepper and patchouli really set it apart from the rest. Smelling the cologne, I can immediately picture a young 18-25 yo wearing jeans and polo looking fresh and preppy, whom I think this is marketed to. I prefer this over the original Light Blue since it's not too citrusy, and too much citrus can make me feel nauseous sometimes. Not sure about the longevity but projection is average, will do better in the heat though. Overall, I think it's worth a try if you're tired of ADG and want something new.

Amazing Oceanic Scent I wanted to get Light Blue Intense but felt it was a bit too common, it seemed that was everyone's summer fragrance.I wanted to go for something a bit more unique and aquatic, something that screamed beachside, and this does exactly that. It has a slightly floral introductory note that immediately releases a citrus smell, and follows up with its core aquatic oceanic and aromatic notes(water, fresh, and a small hint of red fresh pepper) If you are stuck between Light Blue Intense and this one, or just want something with ocean notes, I highly suggest this one.

We all have that one fragrance in our collection that was a showstopper. Multiple people out and about stopping us each day to simply say we smell amazing. For me, that was Living Stromboli. It floated on my skin all day smelling like I really lived by an ocean paradise. Sadly, the Dolce & Gabbana summer scents only last a few short years in circulation due to their limited release. Now in 2021, quite a bit difficult to find. I really wish they would bring this one back. I miss it.

I prefer this version to the original Light Blue, which for some reason turns very sour on my skin.Living Stromboli was the first designer scent I bought for myself,on first sniff this is what I remember. , It is salty costal Caribbean Sea water, then citruses, mostly lemon then I get some vetiver in the middle,then amber and patchouli in the base. While not the distilled essence of Neptune that is Bvlgari Aqva Marine this is definitely sea deity worthy , probably Triton beach

Continued ,from my last review...well it may not be sea deity but sea diety adjacent ,maybe Odysseus would have worn something similar trapped on Ogyia with Calypso it has an very ozonic top note too and after a bit of floralcy must be the geranium.the vetiver and amberish drydown comes out about 2 hrs later.A soft ozonic aquatic with. citruses a lightly sweet floral heart and finally an earthy , herbal and slighty spicy drydown that performs from 2-5 hrs on a hot day .

This is criminaly underrated! Just picked up a backup bottle because I can't be without it. The pink pepper and watery accord here are absolute fire. The base notes are a little stronger than your typical aquatic fresh fragrance and this gives it a lot of character. Super sexy and very wearable. Best in the line for me. Pick up a bottle before it dissappears and thank me later.

brandiwine, No! Stromboli is a gorgeous volcanic island in Italy.. Americans went ahead and named some strange American concoction that they sell in pizzerias after Stromboli.. This is a very nice aquatic fragrance.. I do not like aquatics but I do like this one! There is something about it that I find different..

Pink pepper bomb in a good way! When I get it a few years ago my nose wasn’t prepared for the spicy nest of this scent, I was so confused, “is a summer fresh scent?” Now I really enjoy it, there is 0% DNA from the original , this is a hole diferente scent! Criminally underrated!

It smells light the original light blue with added geranium and a bit vetiver. Longevity is on par with the OG, pretty good on my skin All in all a solid release. Unfortunately very hard to find in 2020.

This is currently the best perfume I ever smelled. I really like the fresh and clean and flowery smell. It Nice and light and strong at the same time.

So how to review this one? Okay lets start here. Any indication of being light, lacking in longevity and maybe even projection is the exact opposite of my experience with this fragrance. So with that as a preface lets move into the fragrance itself. 1. I can smell just about every note in this fragrance except the amber which may be contributing to the outrageous longevity of the base. It does have a nice sweet and balmy base going on so the amber could be doing that. 2. The opening is bright and salty and pretty spicy with the pink peppercorn. Very citrus and quite aquatic with a calone note that really doesn't bother me. 3. I moved the water notes into the opening as they join the fragrance about 3-5 minutes after spraying. But the mid/heart is dominated by this geranium note. And it is the star of the show while being supported by these water notes and citrus notes and it sort of amps up the spiciness of the pink pepper. The geranium also sort of gives it a slightly creamy vibe. 4. As the fragrance finishes up I am left with vetiver which also adds to the spiciness and also gives it a new woody layer. So at the end of its life (8 hours on skin my friends, and you ain't getting it out of your clothes if you spray them twice) I would say this is something akin to the original Light Blue PH, but a totally different direction. This is more spicy a little brighter (at the base) with the aquatic notes and has the geranium to add a nice floral compenent. I can smell the citrus throughout I believe but am not sure as it could be a mixture of the other notes. This is very nice and I got a steal from lilydirect.com I think I paid about 19 for a tester shipped. This will be put in the foundation of my summer frags here in Texas. I give this an easy 8.5 due to the performance. It doesn't stand head and shoulders about other designer on the market from a smell perspective but I would put it in the upper echelon of designer summer scents. This is wonderful for the office, can be worn year around I believe except really cold weather of course. Wonderful for a date, movie, or other intimate gatherings but I would say go lighter on the sprays as this performs like Versace Eau Fraiche on my skin and could aggravate if over sprayed. If you can get this for less than $30 you have a steal on your hands. I also believe this is different enough from the original LBPH and owning both wouldn't be redundant unless you only need a couple of summer scents. If you have been wanting LBPH I would actually sniff LBPHLS first just to ensure that you wouldn't want if over the original

I have long wondered about this Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme flanker. Light Blue Living Stromboli always struck me as an interesting scent considering the pink pepper being added to the Light Blue Pour Homme DNA. Light Blue Living Stromboli to me is within the Light Blue Pour Homme wheelhouse though a little sweeter from the pink pepper and a little spicier. To me, Living Stromboli is mostly the water note and the pink pepper note. Yes Living Stromboli has the Light Blue Pour Homme's signature citrus, though it is rather in-distinctive unlike Light Blue Pour Homme. The other notes I notice is the geranium in the mid and the vetiver and amber in the base. I don't really notice patchouli for some reason. It is a nice refreshing aquatic but it isn't groundbreaking. Living Stromboli isn't a super performer and this is a bit of a knock for it. Living Stromboli projects nicely for about the first hour and a half or so and becomes a skin scent and can linger for about five hours so six hours tops before it disappears. Projection isn't strong but it's a summery aquatic so you should already know what the deal is before you spray it. Unless it is like Invictus or Light Blue Eau Intense, you are likely going to have it become a skin scent in two hours. Living Stromboli is pretty easy going for wearings. It is great for spring/summer even early fall days when it is 55 degrees or warmer. Situationally it is good casually (though not for price), in work situations and day dates. It is close enough to Versace Man Eau Fraiche and Light Blue Pour Homme so you will get positive reactions if women do comment on it. Overall Light Blue Living Stromboli IMHO is much better than than Light Blue if you can get it. It is different enough but still in the DNA of it. That said, the performance issue is a problem. I'd say it is a 7.4 out of 10. If you want a performing Light Blue Pour Homme, just get Eau Intense. If you want Light Blue but different, get this while you still can because I believe it is discontinued (it was a special edition flanker after all.)
