Light Blue pour Homme

This is a fresh, zingy, citrus, aquatic fragrance with great quality, strong likability, and clear mass appeal. Light Blue Pour Homme is ideal for spring and summer, with a bright, lively, and uplifting character. As a Brazilian, this is one of the fragrances I keep in my home country to use whenever I go back, especially in warm weather. For many years, Acqua di Giò was a signature scent for me and my number one choice. I was very used to its aquatic approach, and when I first received Light Blue as a gift, I was not so impressed. It did not smell as natural as I expected, and it took me a while to appreciate it. Over time, though, Light Blue grew on me. Its freshness and bright spirit became more appealing, and nowadays I find myself using it more than Acqua di Giò. Its lively, uplifting character and strong mass appeal make it a fragrance I enjoy returning to, especially in warm weather. It has also become tied to dear memories of visiting my home country. I have received compliments from a distance as well. At home, family members would comment on the fragrance even before getting close, like after I got out of the shower and sprayed it. I also remember family gatherings where, while greeting relatives and cousins, more than one person complimented the scent, showing that it projects well and leaves a pleasant trail in hot weather. At this point, it feels like a classic: a scent profile that works perfectly for sunny days and warm seasons.

A lovely perfume that I first got acquainted with through my husband, I instantly adored it on him & it became one of my favourites male perfumes along with "stronger with you" and "bleu de chanel". However at one of my orders from a cosmetic boutique, I got a sample of Light Blue pour femme, or so I thought...because it was actually pour homme. Me & my husband ended up wearing it at the same time in one of our vacations, not knowing it was the same perfume because it smelled completly different on us. A few months after the events I wanted to buy light blue pour femme and smell it again in the store but the scent was completly different and I didn't know why, I went home thinking that it was reformulated. One day I was bored of my perfumes and sprayed my husband's bottle of light blue...then I realized. It came as a complete shock for both of us since again, the pH of our skins makes this scent so different. This perfume is a truly unisex prize...and a really qualitative one. It smells crystalline, airy & immersive as it transfers me to that vacation in the greek islands, it smells exactly like a sunny day in Mykonos.

Love, love, love this citrusy, flirty, clean scent. Decent projection, doesn't last too long due to it being a citrus fragrance. Some may say it's boring because the notes don't develop, but I love that what I smell upon the opening is what I get - nice and dependable. Inoffensive albeit generic, perfect for most settings, but also flirtatious, surprisingly fitting for evening dates in the warmer months. The ad campaign for this fragrance captured its essence perfectly. This was my first proper, full-bottle fragrance, I wore it throughout college and early adulthood. There's a slight sweetness that makes it smell like a citrus soda, and it works well on my skin. After finishing a bottle, I thought I would graduate onto something more sophisticated, but nothing delivers hot summer quite like this fragrance. Easily repurchased on discount.

I grew up on the East Coast of Florida. I used to live next to an orange grove and a Tropicana orange juice plant. On early mornings when the wind was blowing the right way you could smell the scent of oranges in the air. It's a smell that I associate so strongly with my childhood. I smelled this on one of my coworkers yesterday and stopped dead in my tracks and asked him what he was wearing, because it just brought me back to that distinct moment in time. I immediately went out and bought it today. It's been over 20 years, and those orange groves are gone now, along with the Tropicana plant, lost to hurricanes, disease, and sprawling suburbia. But I'm sitting here in my car, smelling my wrist, and for a moment it's coming back to me.

I got the pre-reformulated one. Fantastic scent, one of the best citrus fresh fragrances I have tried. Subpar performance but you can spray it like crazy and not get sick of it. Citrusy, slightly green mandarin peel note, somehow salty? the pepper and rosemary add a fresh aromatic vibe that smells very natural, then a very well blended musk and wood combo that comes off skin smelling very clean and elemental. This makes me think of a Mediterranean town and I walk up to my villa after a swim and sit in the garden surrounded by herbs and citrus trees. The wind is blowing and my skin is salty from the dried seawater. Overall I love it. I wish it lasted longer but hey it’s a fresh citrus fragrance. Scent: 9/10 Performance: 5/10

Not cat urine, just sharp citrus opening followed by rosemary sage and patchouli. Kinda aquatic-floral and a bit synthetic shower gel vibe the first hour. The notes here on fragrantica are different than the notes listed in the original website though I think fragrantica needs to update the listed notes. If you are not familiar with this one go and test it on skin first before even blind buying and writing a review saying that smells like giraffe breast milk or something crazy. Believe me, I have come across really funny and creative negative reviews so I wouldn’t let that decide, let your nose decide whether you like it or not. I like it but I only wear it on high heat and muggy days.

i got this maybe 2 years ago for christmas and haven’t had it for a year. i used it that quick. as i smelled it, it transported me back to when u was young, very young. it reminded me of being at my old house and playing outside on a nice warm summer day with my cousins. whenever my father was around, i smelled it. i asked my dad if he wore it, and indeed he did. it’s a very nostalgic smell and holds a place very deep in my heart. i love it, the family loves it, the girls love it. but cmon, this is what you would smell on ya italian/spanish dad, uncle, grandfather, heck even your cousin. well, my dad was that, and now i am. i love this stuff. very nostalgic smell. ciao

Ahhh, light blue. As light and as blue as it sounds. Great scent, unfortunately it doesn't last long. Great for summer/late spring, and hopefully the sweat/heat allows it to have better projection. For me, this is the "Player" fragrance that along with ADG Profumo began my journey into fragrances. I smelled it off my nephew who had it, and I had previously smelled this off of different people and I loved it. Love the grapefruit/citrus, it smells so seductive in the opening, and that's why I keep it in the lineup. Works great as a gym fragrance imo, since it'll only last a few hours or so. 8.5/10, would be a 9+ if the performance and projection were better :')

As a lot of other people will say, its a very linear masculine scent. Its in the same alley as L'eau d'issey from Issey Miyake; not to complicated, most people won't mind it and there aren't any harsh/off putting notes. Some complain saying it smells like bathroom cleaner, zeeeroooo clue what that's all about, but taste is subjective: you'll find this in any beauty/fragrance store, try it yourself. I think D&G Light Blue is such a solid fragrance and really the only things I'd like better is the performance and silage. For roughly 40-60 ish bucks you can't complain with what you get, and I'm interested in how the EDP version holds up. 7.5/10

(Please be aware): The performance makes it really just not an option to wear publicly. I love this scent profile. It is amazing, but sadly I mostly just wear it at home as a comforting fresh scent, because the longevity and silage are weak. Maybe if you want to keep the bottle on you (its relatively small) and re-spray yourself, you could realistically use this while away from home. Otherwise- unless the more recent batches have improved performance, I would unfortunately advise against buying this until Dolce Gabbana demonstrate that they care about their name in the Fragrance world.

This fragrance was my only one in my early twenties. I wore it when I started dating my wife. She loves when I wear it. It is a masterpiece. It’s been around for almost 20 years. You have to spray 10 sprays to make this project (No joke) and it last for 4 - 5 hours. I haven’t smelled the reformulation of this yet, but I know I will. I have half a 100ml bottle left. Nostalgia sakes and for my wife I will have this in my collection till the day I die. This is my most complimented fragrance I own. Goes very well with my skin chemistry. Smell : 10/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 7/10

This is just a timeless classic. On my skin to my nose, this has no off putting scent just freshness in a unique way from the rest that's out there. The performance is good for the edt, projects in the heat very well. Put it on clean skin, actually sweating with it on seems to increase projection. Its comforting in ways too, not just a summer scent. I love the EDT but want to get thr EDP as well. EDP is very very similar to edt just stronger performance, longevity mainly. But it's a great scent, going through summer favorites ADG of any kind and this are at the top.

i simply hope every single day many more males would hate this frag, so that I can be the only one wearing this scents. The opening is boring (like majority votes) but I always look forward for their middle and dry down. I sprayed at 2pm and my wife could still smell after 2am. This frag blends well with my cigarette smells. This one has always be the most compliment whenever I put this on. This is the perfume that has the most memories. My girlfriend who later became my wife loves this on me and doesn’t want anything else (except for LNDL which she liked recently). I wore this at our wedding and used this almost exclusively throughout the years. I live in a tropical country so a freshie is standard. Recently bought a pre-2025 version can compared it to the one I have since 2007. They don’t smell the same probably due to maceration and that they changed companies. But both still good. My signature summer scent.

I love the citrus opening of this one. So good. I absolutely loveeee it on my boyfriend; smells so fresh and clean and addictive. I have my own 10ml because I really enjoy the scent; the drydown is definitely on the masculine side but when I'm in the right mood I feel I can pull it off. I'm wondering if it would read less or more masculine in cold weather on me -- I'll have to test it out. I wish the OG light blue had this opening, that would make it perfect to me haha

Classic! A must have in your collection - especially since it is now discontinued. The new one is not that good. It does not have that spiciness like this one. It's just another green-like fragrance. This OG is still very unique. I picked up a 200ml for $99 at Nordstrom Rack. A bit expensive compared to what you can find these days, but I wanted a bottle to use for a vacation. Sure it is kind of weak, but that's why you get a 200ml and use 15 sprays :)

Opens beautifully with those sunny citrus notes reminiscent of a summer morning. Longevity is perfect as it works throughout the day, lasting roughly 8 hours with a noticeable musky silage towards that tail end. As the fragrance develops on the skin as the day goes on it only grows better with nicely transitioning opening, heart, and base note changes. Better compliment receiver than most expensive summer freshies for the price tag .

this is a very amazing fresh cheap fragrance I been using it for about a month now and the complements are crazy when I wear this to school or anywhere. It's a good cologne to wear during this summer heat and a good everyday fragrance for spring and summer times! The only thing i don't like about it is that its not very long lasting and doesn't project too well. Other than that i would really recommend this fruity fresh fragrance.

this scent is clean, aquatic fresh , prominent citrus, you can’t over spray this one even if you do, it always play nice , the scent is always in blend, hot , sunny or summer heat is it’s plays ground, it packs nostalgia for the users and a timeless classic vibe always. Great silage and longevity on skin too. I think this one should be unisex, since is pleasing and mass appealing and one of the best citrusy fragrances

Brilliant perfume from Alberto Morillas. Perfect for the summer. This is the best summer fragrance that I own; it’s light and fresh with some citrus and a playful “herbi-ness” that really appeals to my nose. The only real letdown is the performance. If anyone knows of a perfume like this that has better performance, please tell me. For now, I am stuck with a brilliant but weak perfume.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue smells like a more relaxed, casual younger brother of Acqua di Giò EDT. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not the same, but they do smell related. I really enjoy wearing it and can’t wait for warmer weather, where it shines the most. I prefer it to AdG EDT because I find it more versatile, with similar performance, and it’s also more affordable.

my dad used to have a bottle of it in our holiday house and it just reminds me of summer its such a beautiful summer scent which can ot be hated by any its so clean and refreshing scent it might be a bit boring for some but I personally love it not the greatest longevity or projection but the smell is remarkable smell-10 logevity-4 projection-5 price-8

If you're not happy with the performance, make your own bottle of Ambroxan. I just made one. It works. Doesn't change the scent that much either. The one I made is around 6%. Get it from a legit shop. Just need a cheap glass bottle. Ambroxan (crystals), bottle of Ever Clear. Mix. Warm. Shake. Let it sit. Save yourself $80.

I have this and and I wore the intense version. I ́ve no issues with the performance, this is my 2nd or 3rd bottle and never had any problem with the performance. Think this is actually far better than the intense version, is just as powerfull but far more lighter and breathable. Spring and summer classic. Just great.

If you live in a tropical place like me, this is a must have. It pushes out on skin like crazy with the heat. Longevity is very decent for a light and fresh citric scent. The smell is masculine, a bit abrasive but still gentle and pleasant to the nose. It is my signature daytime fragrance.

This is the one fragrance I keep coming back to. It’s subtle, clean, and always an easy go-to. Lately, I’ve been layering it with Molecule 01 + Ginger, which adds a fresh kick and a bit more depth, making it feel more unique while still keeping that light and breezy vibe.

This is a very unique scent and there's pretty much nothing like it. Not sure why people get longevity issues as I get a full days wear out of it and it lasts 24 hours+ on clothes. You will go noseblind though but catch whiffs throughout the day. It's high quality stuff.

This will always be my favorite fresh scent of all time. I don’t really care about how long it lasts because I enjoy this as it is and so do people around me. The compliments are always nice and just the feeling it gives me. I smell good without “offending” anyone.

Really good to be honest. Nothing too crazy but that’s what makes it special. It’s extremely mass appealing and it’s gotten me multiple compliments, it just doesn’t perform super well. My first fragrance I ever owned and I’d recommend it to anyone!

Genuinely don't know how people think this smells like egg, it smells like eating a lemon by the beach with hints of masculine musk, it's a very nice summer fragrance and is definitely growing on me

It’s been a daily office scent of mine for years. I love the clean and masculine feel without being heavy or sweet. I prefer something spicier for evening, but this works well on summer nights.

Up front, reminds me of Usher black ONLY this actually lasts more than 30 minutes. Great fresh scent, spring summer, fall transition. Clean and citrus, a staple in fresh men's fragrances.

Fresh, smoky and aquatic smell. Best to wear it on formal clothes. a lot better than Aqua di Gio. I love it on me. this one is a mixture of Aqua di Gio and CK IN2U :P

I love this fragrance, it's very fresh and it smells really good. The only downside is that it doesn't really last that long. The projection is pretty good.

Love the way it smells, salty, marine, airy and masculine. It does NOT last, unfortunately; I get about 3 hours until it completely fades.

I have several Dolce&Gabana fragrances. The One for Men eau de Parfum was my first. I got Dolce&Gabana Pour Homme Intenso and several Light Blue flankers namely Sun, Swimming in Lipari and Living Stromboli. I always skipped over the original Light Blue Pour Homme though. This was because I had smelt it and to me it always seemed banal to me. If you took Acqua di Gio and replaced the total sea feel you get with the calone, but at the same time increase the citrus in particular grapefruit, you get this banal fragrance. Now while that is a bit of an insult, Light Blue Pour Homme does it so well. Light Blue Pour Homme initially hits me with a sea salt feel before it settles into the citric open. You'll smell grapefruit with some mandarin and bergamot mixed in. The mid is mostly rosemary with some pepper. The base is just musky like cotton. It is such a simple scent profile but something about Light Blue Pour Homme does it so well. I'm not sure what it is. Light Blue Pour Homme has an incredible amount of similar smelling fragrances. Some of which came before, most coming after. Two are L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme (which honestly had more to it even more so than the next one I'll name) and Acqua di Gio. The ones I call "imitators" are Ed Hardy Love & Luck (even if it is more of a Millisime Imperial clone, it has the similar citric open and cottony musk base of Light Blue), Versace Pour Homme (less salty, more clean and soapy), Azzaro Aqua Frost (a bit more aquatic but not salty), Cuba Paris Cuba Wild Heart (similar to Love & Luck but piney), English Laundry Riviera (not directly, but fits a similar profile), Ralph Lauren Polo Ultra Blue and tons others that maybe obvious dupes or just cashing in on a best seller's basic yet amazing profile. And then I would argue most of the flankers I've smelt are in the same space as Light Blue Pour Homme which given flankers is amazing. Now I will say that because it is 100% a best seller and has been copied time and time and time again, it will be the ex, brother or even more dad scent. It is not a unique scent but it is very pleasing. Hell, even a good number of the flankers smell if not nearly like it but with a stronger note or a few different notes, enough that Fragrantica users have a ton of them on smells like and you can't even get dupes on there. I can say the three flankers I own are similar. I want to say of the three, Living Stromboli is the one that smells the least but is still rather close. I would say that Light Blue Pour Homme projects fine. It last a good 4-6 hours. I think that is perfectly fine. In summer if it doesn't bake off of you, it will have a good scent trail. I would say Light Blue Pour Homme is very socially acceptable. It is not something that should be too much for HR unless someone is allergic to an ingredient of Light Blue Pour Homme. It can work dressed up (work wise), casual and could possibly be a date scent if you are fine with the familiarity of it. I was wrong with how banal Dolce& Gabana Light Blue Pour Homme is. While it isn't sexy and not really much of a fragrance that stands out, it is Overall I have to give Light Blue a 7.8 out of 10. I can see myself wearing it a lot during summer. I nearly love it but it lacks distinct character.

As it moves into the mid, the citrus softens and becomes less prominent, shifting into a smoother but still slightly sour brightness. Rosemary becomes more defined, while pepper continues to provide a dry texture. Light Blue begins to warm and gain a bit of density, and a strong clean musk starts to take over. That musky accord becomes the dominant feature, giving the scent a dual character... crisp and light in the air, but warmer and slightly denser up close. In the drydown, it simplifies into a musky skin scent with faint traces of rosemary and a subtle peppery citrus in the background. The earlier sharpness smooths out, though the musk remains the defining element, now softer and more skin like rather than piercing. By hour four, it sits close to the skin as a clean, lightly warm, musky presence with minimal projection and a straightforward, fading profile. Nothing crazy.. Defined by the grapefruit and the muskiness it is an enjoyable enough freshie with poor longevity. 6/10

Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue Many reviewers here say it's nothing special, I believe they are simply wording things wrong. Instead of being nothing special, I would say it's nothing particularly "new". The cologne realm is full of fresh/woodsy scents. We will both assume since you are on this website, you are aware of this fact. So what separates Light Blue from the Acqua Di Gios, Chanels, Calvin Kleins, Ralph Laurens, and others? My answer? Not much, not much at all. Is this a bad thing? That's completely up to your interpretation. When I smell Light Blue I smell fresh, light woods, paired with a little less citrus notes, and a hint of refreshing floral notes. I get anywhere between 4-6 hours out of this cologne, along with moderate silage. Above all else, I feel clean, crisp, and confident- on top of that, I garner compliments damn near every time I wear it! Groundbreaking? No. Something special? For you, maybe. For others, maybe not. That's the best part about the fresh/citrus/woodsy segment! Almost all of them smell good, and there's plenty of variety to satisfy what you're looking for! Who knows? Maybe Light Blue will hit the spot for you! Overall rating: 7/10

This is my summertime signature scent, for me it's the perfect beach time perfume because it's got refreshing powers I swear when I wear this I feel like the temperature goes a little bit down during heated weather The scent profile on my skin is basically the eau intense version but without the over exposed saltiness, its very fresh citrusy, slightly spicy due to the pepper, which gives it a bit of a laundry detergent effect Btw this is a weak preforming fragrance, it lasts 3-5hrs on my skin and intimate projection, so prepare to overspray this But for the hot summertime season I think this is a great pick, an original masterpiece, talking about versatility this is hot weather only and wearing this in hot mornings, sports or by the pool/beach The bottle looks very cute, has a blurry effect texture on the outside, and the atomizer is average Dolce & Gabanna light blue edt: due to the sentimental value behind it and for it's refreshing aspects, actually giving it an 8.5/10, a summer classic, I do really like this stuff Edit April 2025: 7/10

There's a reason why some fragrances are popular, and why many people wear them. It's because they smell good, like this one. I've tried my fair share of niche, vintage etc., and while I can appreciate the "art", most of them are not well received by the people around me. One might call this "generic" in that it smells like very many other fragrances in the same genre, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a smell that people can relate to and evokes a laidback state of mind. I can't count the times I've worn a rare, highly appreciated perfume in the fragrance community (let's say Patou Pour Homme), only to hear "Jesus, man, what the hell are you wearing?" I've often found pleasure in wearing a fragrance I know most people won't be wearing, but that doesn't mean I'm doing myself any favors. I've probably been somewhat of a perfume snob for a few years, but that hasn't been working out too well for my wallet or senses. In conclusion (and back to Light Blue), longevity and sillage are excellent, it smells great and chicks love it.
