Light Blue Sun Pour Homme

Ok, So ive spent quite some time with this. Three bottles in so far. This is a very nice summer chill fragrance. If your hanging at the beach or spending the day walking downtown this is an ok go to. Longevity and sillage leave ALOT to be desired, but ymmv mine was roughly 3-4 hours at roughly 6 inch sillage. That puts this in the skin scent category. Lets start with top notes, bergamot, there is some its not overpowering and it plays nicely with the grapefruit fizzy top as well. Ginger, im just not getting or its a very clean fizzy fresh ginger maybe a c02 extract or a previously made accord "definitly not a natural or very very trace amounts", but its just barely there. Im also getting another citrus, orange maybe even tangerine? But the star on top is definitly grapefruit. The tops play very well together here. Very bright and fizzy. There is definitly an aldehyde in here, you get brief hints of it/them in there, which is what theyre supposed to do. Theres also a floral ozone or marine ozone, or both, but those are slightly more prominent than the aldehyde(s) so theyre being used a blender and not as a main character. Moving on to the mid notes, this could very well be considered an osmanthus bomb, its definitly an accord utilizing trace amounts of an osmanthus absolute and carious synthetics to fill it out, nice nontheless. Its definitely the main attraction here though, as the grapefruit is the second on the top. The coconut doesnt appear prominently untill much later maybe just before the dry down begins, its not the suntan lotion type of coconut, and might be an accord made mainly of coconut aldehyde amd others like it like gamma decalactone etc etc, but I get a sneaking suspicion its more of a coconut enfleurage than anything else, maybe even a light co2 extract isolate. The cedar is barely there so its probably just used as an enhancer for the oakmoss and osmanthus, and is barely perceptible unless really paying attention, rosemary could be in there but it plays so well with osmanthus and the osmanthus is so overdosed that you might as well write it off and is probably trace to low dose nuance that its marketing bs just to add aroma "notes." The dry down, very disappointing, the oakmoss is the main player here, and since olivier cresp made this, im assuming he used a firmenich synthetic or an accord that utilizes one or more like oakmoss firbest or veramoss from iff, or both in combination, the musk is a generic white musk, that adds to the oakmoss and is there barely as a supporting character galaxolide is most likely but there are others like exaltolide and exaltone. The vetiver, if there is any is probably a shell of real vetiver and is most likely a version of vetiveryl acetate or vetivrol and again low dosed the vanilla like with so many is low dosed and only used as a nuance rather than a primary note like the rest of the base except the oakmoss. So the dry down is extremely soft and barely perceptile and if you didnt stick you hand right up to your nose you would go as far as to say that there is no base here. Thats the issue with this flanker, this seems to be very poorly balanced that the fixatives in the base were an after thought. Id say 10% base 70% mids 20% tops, which makes for a poorly lasting formula, and you can tell. I repeatedly get this bc i love osmanthus and i think it was well done here, this is my "im just laying on the beach and walking the boardwalk, or taking an afternoon stroll in the city with my kid" scent, this is purely a summer scent, there is no crossover here bc the base is so weak, so it needs that humid heat to shine. Would i pay full retail for this when it released? Absolutely not, there are too many others, even in the light blue family that will be longer lasting and project more. If you like grapefruit and osmanthus, then this is an easy choice to pick up from discounters at no more than $40-45, paying any more than that is giving your money away. Best flanker of the series so far! If you like Light Blue (OG), chances are you will enjoy Sun. I suspect that the majority people will "write off" this flanker from a quick sample hand/wrist spray at local Macy's, etc. If you're on the fence about buying this flanker. I suggest buying a bottle, and wearing it for a week or two to truly experience the beauty of this new flanker. As you can always return the bottle if you ultimately deem that it's a redundant dud. The more you wear this flanker, your nose will begin to notice many of the difference notes, and will enjoy how well each note plays its role to create such a beautiful, yet simple fragrance. The amped-up citrus notes, along with the coconut, and wood/musk/etc notes gives this flanker added dimensions and longevity and performance -- while retaining the masterful formulation of Light Blue (OG). Light Blue Sun can easily be most guy's dumb reach summer cologne for most any situation (gym, night-out, date, professional, beach) et cetera. Projection is strong for the first 30 minutes - 1 hour, but will dial back to an elbow lengths scent. That will performance consistently for 6++ hours on most people's skin. Overall: 8/10

It's been over a month since I first got my bottle, and I've come to the realization that this fragrance does what it needs to amazingly in my opinion. Light blue Sun has such a refreshing opening, its a nice blend of clean lemons and a light airy musky note. Its fruity, but not overly synthetic like many other fresh scents I have. I did not expect it to be so great, I like this one more than the Intense version and the Swimming in Lipari edition. I do have an affinity for fresh fruity scents, and this one is for sure in my top 5. Smells like a breezy day on the beach with a iced fruity drink at your side. Very uplifting to me. Performance is average, lasting about 4-6 hours for me. But, considering it is a very fresh scent, that's really good in my eyes, above-average in that case. Really surprised it is not more popular, but I really recommend you get a sample or something. It's still relatively sold at a good price at the online discounters, I got my bottle from FragX. Longevity: 7.5/10 Projection: 6/10 (Softer) Scent: 8.75/10 (Love it, but it is not amazingly special)

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Sun Pour Homme is a limited edition released in 2019 and a flanker of the original Light Blue from 2007. One thing that surprised me the most about this release was how it divided the fragrance community and reviewers as well. What shocked me the most was all the undeserved lukewarm feedback, while the Light Blue Intense Pour Homme gets so much praise from almost anyone. Here are my 5 quick takes: - Probably the best Light Blue flanker in the line - An easy-going summer holiday perfume with great performance - Limited edition release created in 2019 by a master perfumer Alberto Morillas - Based on a tired formula that is in a need of a refresher - Signature-worthy perfume While it’s still available and moderately priced, it would go for this edition instead of Light Blue Eau Intense any day of the week. Light Blue Sun is another redundant and unnecessary flanker. Light Blue Sun smells 99% like Light Blue, with a tad bit more potency, along with harsh citrus/tart notes. That can actually make this flanker unbearable in hot temperatures. Light Blue Sun doesn't smell as refined, smooth, or as high quality as the legendary Light Blue which is disappointing. Here's the truth, if you already own Light Blue or one of the many other flankers. Don't waste your money on Light Blue Sun, unless you just want to each each flanker. And if this is the case, wait until this flanker is sold at discounters. The reality is....to date Light Blue is the best variant of the series and doesn't need to be recreated. Overall: 6/10 Performance/Projection: 8.5/10

This is my favorite Light Blue Pour Homme This is a very pleasant summer scent; a STRONG LOVE for me. The light blue DNA plus coconut and more wood. This is very middle of the road. Nothing polarizing, like ambroxan overload. This goes the musk route instead of ambroxan/IsoE Super and that makes it more than acceptable. This is now one of my most favored citrus summertime bottles. It works for day/night, casual and even formal for warm evenings. I totally agree with reviewers saying This is not a pina colada cocktail scent. The coconut is not for sweetening, but as a musk and wood enhancer. It quotes Ferrari Silver in that way. It is more mature and simply great. My wife calls it clean, and she is correct there too.

A sale for this fragrance appeared so I revisited and emptied my decant with 10-12 sprays out of a 3ml tester with a weak atomizer. It opens with a zesty citrus blend, then transitions to a touch of spice from the ginger. At no time did I pick up on a distinct coconut or suntan lotion vibe; but the coconut, white musk and vanilla are blended together that give the base a soft and light cotton ball finish. Overall I would not call this a powdery fragrance, just a touch of softness in the mid and base notes. I pulled the trigger on a 100ml bottle and I will report back as I wear this scent. [EDIT] 10 sprays does the job. Perfect projection but not too strong. The gem of the series.

This is an immaculate fragrance, perfect for hot summer days, sadly we don't get too many of those days here in the UK. I don't often buy a fragrance based on the opening notes alone, but here I did. The initial blast is fantastic, notes I adore, woody, citrus bright notes which uplift the mood, longevity was very impressive, the best performer from this house for a long time. I'm stunned how long this lasted on me, in comparison to the original, which sadly is like water on my skin. I bought a decant quite late on, but have a sealed bottle to enjoy next summer. I think this would get a bit lost on winter months. Terrific release.

My favorite Light Blue, and I have a lot of them. In fact, one of my favorite fragrances period. This one made me a fan of that traditional Light Blue tart citrus accord, and now I'm addicted to it after hating it for years. It's basically Light Blue Intense, with this amazing coconut accord added that drives hard alongside of the citrus and ginger. Great performance all the way around, and such a feel good / energizing fragrance. I have a backup bottle as its been discontinued, and contemplating getting another while they are still available and cheap.

Laughing at myself because on back to back nights I had a 180 degrees changed of mind on two fragrances. I disliked both the DG Sun and DG Light Blue Eau Intense when I tried it on hot summer days. Then last night on a cool summer night with the cool breeze I tried DG Light Blue Eau Intense and loved it. And tonight I tried this Sun and totally love it too. Both bring me feelings of vacationing on some exotic beach with moonlight and cool breeze. So glad I gave these more chances at different temperatures and environments.

This is such a beautiful gem, I really thought that it smells fantastic but I also thought it was going to be offensive or not so pleasant to other people because it has this delicate sweet citrus smell based on the coconut and vanilla with the grapefruit I must say, but I received a few compliments and I really think it is a fantastic fragrance for sure; having this is such a privilege that finally a great coconut summer fragrance came out and being a long-standing one is a plus; keep up the good work

I have tried almost all from the light blue line and honestly i feel they are all kinda boring and salty. Italian love is an amazing one but i like this one more. This is not as salty as the other ones and this is fresh but still got that lactonic and sunscreen smell. It is not harsh but actually really nice. The citrus does the job with the coconut behind it. I would recommend to try this scent and give it a shot. Rock this as a everyday summerscent i actually love this one!

Imagine driving through the North American prairies as they're being pressed flat under the weight of the giant ice caps 12,000 years ago, and you realize you're actually driving through the water layer under the ice cap, past the rippling field bottoms in the still, cold water. Big sky country that was once big water country, until the Light Blue Sun worked it's magic, incessantly calving turquoise icebergs with it's laser focus to bring us the half-sphere sunset...

This is my favorite from the entire line. Sample it. It doesn't have any sweetness at all, and isn't cloying or annoying like any of the Versace fragrances or any of the Paco Rabanne Invictus (soyboy) flankers. This is a sharp dry, sour citrus, and the drydown is smooth. A mature man can pull this one off, unlike the ones I mentioned previously, and to the reviewer below, this smells nothing like that headache inducing Aqua Amara. stop hyping that crap.

One of the best summer cologne for men! It smells so citrus and sweet that makes your mind already feel like on the vacation! The hint of ginger, osmanthus and rosemary (which are all the scent I love) is also noticeable. The woody scent is only a little but it's necessary because nobody would want a projection monster in summer. I wore it on the beaches or streets (in T-shirt, shorts and sandals) I reckon it's also good for office fragrance.

This IS bottled sunshine and my favourite of the D&G Light Blue line by far. My imagination produces an image of my grandma's neighbour's apricot orchard near the lake on a bright, hot summer day. The flacon is classic D&G with a gold and white cap, fits well in my hand, good pump, and spray disbursement is generous but travels farther and is more narrow than I like. Anytime, anywhere when the weather is hot. Compliments galore, too.

Guys. GO AND GET THIS. This is truly an amazing cologne. I just smelled this at the mall, and thought: 'this is how every girl wants a man to smell'. It's fresh, clean and breezy, yet so manly and sexy. Some may say it's generic or not that unique, but no girl would ever think you'd smell bad with this perfume on. I would definitely drool over a man wearing this. I just might buy this for a future boyfriend...

I just bought the original and had Sun but had not worn much. I sprayed the OG on one hand, Sun on the other. Sun is noticeably sweeter and lacks the pepperiness of the OG. I thought I smelled a distinct coconut in Sun but didn’t remember that to be the case, came here and saw that there is indeed a coconut note listed. I love coconut scents — didn’t realize I should love Sun, too!

Similar to the intense version, but with a hint of sweet aspect. More i wear this fragrance, more i detect the différences. Four days in a row i wear Sun. I received three compliments : two at work by women and one in a family get together (an other woman). The performance is very good. Approriate for the spring and summer or even during a sunny autumn. Overall, i love !

In my opinion, Sun is a highly underrated fragrance, even though it’s one of the best and most intense in the Light Blue line. It surpasses all the others in longevity. It’s strong, intense, bitter, but slightly sweet thanks to the coconut. Very long-lasting (it can linger on clothes for weeks), women love it, and it’s a distinctly sexy scent.

It blends tart citrus and salty, airy ozone in the top, transitioning into a warm, woody aromatic (from the rosemary) heart with a bit of vaguely fruity ginger bite and sunscreeny touches of coconut before settling into a base made of musky cedar and lightly mossy vetiver. I found this to be an in-between of the OG EDT and Eau Intense.

Just received my 125 ml. bottle in the mail. To me it smells like a mix of Aqva Amara and Aqva Atlantiqve with 25% of of original Light Blue for Men. Very nice grapefruit note, definitely a scent for summer days out. Can't smell the coconut, although I am a huge coconut fan. Nevertheless - beautiful scent, I can only recommend it.

Love! Love! Love! Great hot weather scent. Citruses are uplifting, the ginger and cedar ground it with a nice, almost peppery, counterpoint. longevity is good. Although did go to skin after a couple of hours.. A fun scent to spray on when it's sunny outside, a slight breeze is blowing and your ready to start your day....

it is not intense and in fact it is very soft in performance. this flanker adds only a slight sweet note (coconut?) (tanning cream?) in the drydown that if it were stronger it would deserve the purchase as it would give a distinctive and classy mark in addition to the usual light blue flankers. 5/10 poor performance.

Summer in a bottle, super fitting for sunshine and tequila sunrises. Never smelled the OG light blue, but whatever the hell this is, it works well. My go to over aqua di gio, sauvage, aqva marine, and all my other easy to wear summer frags. Smells invigorating, fun, like a day off of work. 7.5/10

I smelled both the light blue intense and let me tell you this beats it in terms of CREATIVITY. if you want something special, versatile that nobody is somewhat wearing ,and you don't mind the small hint of coconut that this has, then by all means get this. amazing summer scent. 8.5/10

This is my go-to summer fragrance! It's super fresh and citrusy thanks to the grapefruit and bergamot. The coconut nectar adds a touch of sweetness that's not overpowering, and the cedarwood keeps it grounded. It lasts all day and always gets me compliments.

Feels like the beach :) While “light blue eau intense” feels like the ocean, “light blue sun” feels like the beach. Both got the citrus notes but this one is less salty. It’s more fruity, fun and summery.

Indeed smells very sunny. Like some light yellow fruit, may be melon. Gives a feeling of sitting in a shadow on a nice sunny beach. Also it smells like the dry down of Light Blue Eau Intense Pour Homme.

1st wearing for my workday. Compliments right off the rip. I've tested it at home and was surprised by it's longevity compared to my other Light Blue PH scents. Glad I found this one.

awesome summer fragrance! This is summer in a bottle! It makes me happy when I wear it. Sometimes I will wear it in the dead of winter to remind me of the heat of summer.

It has this coconut sun-block lotion smell, but in a masculine way. Good option for summer days.

Smells just like Blue Seduction by Antonio Banderas, just a bit saltier to my nose.

This is my favorite of the light blue fragrances.

10/10 great memories with this

Today I am heading over to the house of Dolce & Gabbana to analyze a discontinued flanker from the famed Light Blue line: Light Blue Sun Pour Homme. The Light Blue line is one I have a fair amount of experience with, and my current favorite, by far, is Light Blue Eau Intense. The fiercely oceanic and ultra-fresh character of the latter establishes it as one of the most compelling aquatic fragrances in my collection. Now, we assess whether Light Blue Sun brings a truly unique dimension to the series. Let's get into it. Opening: The opening is citrusy, ozonic, and spicy. The primary notes I get are grapefruit, ozonic notes, bergamot, and coconut nectar, with the ozonic notes and the grapefruit being the strongest notes. The grapefruit begins the composition with a familiarly bright, citrusy accord common throughout the Light Blue line. It does, however, lean toward a more bitter and realistic profile, approaching the intensity of Light Blue Forever. Behind the grapefruit are the ozonic notes, lending the opening a fresh, airy, and subtly aquatic sensation. Up next is the bergamot and coconut nectar. The bergamot doubles down on the citrus with a solid dose of aromatic spiciness underneath. Lastly, the coconut nectar hides in the background, enveloping the other notes in a smooth, creamy, slightly sweetened solar accord that vividly conjures the impression of suntan lotion, and from which the fragrance undoubtedly derives its name. Dry Down: The dry down remains citrusy, ozonic, and spicy. The primary notes I get are still grapefruit, ozonic notes, bergamot, and coconut nectar, with the ozonic notes and grapefruit remaining the prominent notes. This fragrance is, in fact, remarkably linear, with the only discernible difference being that the solar, "suntan lotion" accord from the coconut nectar gains a slight increase in strength, with maybe just a subtle hint of woodiness in the base from the vetiver. Other than these minor shifts, the dry down is largely an extension of the opening. Performance: The initial projection within the first hour was surprisingly strong, reaching out around six feet. The sillage was also robust, leaving a bright and glowing scent trail. After a few hours, the projection had moderated to about four to five feet, and the scent trail was lighter but still noticeable. By the seven-hour mark, the fragrance had already become a skin scent, suggesting the last bit of noticeable push wore off around the six-hour mark. When to Wear: As the name suggests, Light Blue Sun is a spring/summer fragrance that is tailor-made for daytime wear. Its bright, solar, and fresh nature makes it perfect for casual settings or any outdoor activity under the sun, but its specific profile limits its range. I would not select it for formal or special occasions, nor would it be appropriate for the office. It could, however, function well as a gym fragrance. Blind Buy: If the Light Blue line is a favored genre, this is likely a safe blind buy, as it does not stray significantly from the core DNA. However, one must appreciate the prominent, creamy "suntan lotion" accord often associated with coconut or solar notes to fully enjoy this composition. Final Verdict: The Light Blue line is extensive, with many iterations, and all those I have personally assessed offer a minor variance on the scent profile while remaining faithful to the core DNA. Light Blue Sun is no exception. It is, essentially, the established Light Blue structure infused with a distinct solar, suntan-lotion accord. This is not meant to diminish the fragrance—it is pleasant and enjoyable—but it is not particularly breaking any molds. Performance is also quite standard for the Light Blue line: a decent push for the first few hours, but fading before it can sustain an entire 8-hour workday. Ultimately, it is a fun addition to the line and certainly worth owning for a dedicated Light Blue enthusiast, but I would not recommend anyone outside of that niche spend excessive time or money hunting down this discontinued flanker. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 6/10 Versatility: Low Mass Appeal: High Gender: Unisex, leaning masculine Value: Fair

Light Blue Sun opens with a soft projection of mostly bergamot and grapefruit notes. The opening is very light, the notes come up as very faint. The ginger adds a soft spicy accord whereas the ozonic notes give the fragrance a marine-like feel, slightly salty, evocative of oceanic waters and it is the most prominent note. The mid notes are not very noticeable, the coconut listed as a mid note is just a whiff; the few woody and spices contribute to the blend but are not well-defined notes. The base notes are perhaps the most distance accords and they just blend and support the opening notes. Once Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sun for Men has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a very poor projecting, soft marine and citrus (grapefruit and bergamot) fragrance with very soft wood and spicy accords. The fragrance feels airy, casual, common, faint, light, marine, modern, masculine, diurnal, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020 WOW RATING: 5/10. This is a pleasant but very faint, fresh, aquatic, and citrusy fragrance. DISLIKE RATING: 0/10. This fragrance does not contain offensive notes. UNIQUENESS: 5/10. Aquatic (also known as ozonic) fragrances are very common. MASS APPEAL: 8/10. The combination of notes will come up as pleasant to most people. PROJECTION: 1/10. Very Low, almost a skin scent. SILLAGE: 1/10. Very low, almost none. APPLICATION: Six atomizations, spray your clothes to improve performance. LONGEVITY: 3/10. Low, it projects for about an hour, and then it drops quickly. SEASONS: Spring and summer. The fragrance is too weak for winter or fall. OCCASIONS: Outdoor gatherings, business, casual. This is an office-friendly fragrance. VERSATILITY: 6/10. Good, it could be better if its notes would have better performance. GENDER: Masculine. The wood and spicy notes lean it to the masculine side but not for much. AGES: Any. RECOMMENDATION: The fragrance comes in an EDT concentration however it is so weak that it appears to be 1/3 EDT compared to other brands that provide fragrances in the same concentration. Its performance is very low and disappointing. Not worth buying it. BLIND-BUY: Yes. However, consider its poor performance. SIMILAR: If you are looking for a marine fragrance Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Atlantiqve EDT which is aquatic, marine, citrus and it has better performance; if you are after a more tropical fragrance, there is Creed Virgin Island Water EDP which features aquatic, marine, citrus, coconut, and lime, but it is pricey. Creed Virgin Island Water has two fantastic clones and more reasonably priced, Dua Fragrances – Caribbean Water and Parfums Vintage – Isla Tropical Prive. SUMMARY: A very poor projecting, soft marine and citrus (grapefruit and bergamot) fragrance with very softwood and spicy accords. The fragrance feels airy, casual, common, faint, light, marine, modern, masculine, diurnal, and pleasant.

Brief: Youthful, happy scent. It’s got a chic and masculine opening of citrus on the sweet side. Very well balanced. I smell some notes of wood and a small hint of herbaceous and synthetic notes. Some alkaloids perhaps? Despite being masculine, any female can easily wear this. It’s sporty and relaxed. Perfect for an outing with friends and family. Good for any time of the day. It’s sophisticated and easy going. Dialed in and laid back. There are some unpleasant and harsh notes, but they’re only for a moment. The citrus outgassing on my wrist is consistent enough to turn my attention away from the undesirable aspects of this fragrance. Middle and dry down quickly lose strength. Sillage is mild-decent. More of a skin scent. Opening has citrus such as lime, bergamot, perhaps some form of orange and a hint of lemon. Aside from citrus, there could be also a hint of persimmon. Many aquatic notes after. Bitter wood, herbs. A bit on the darker side. Fresh and bright, along with dark and spiced notes mingle during the middle part of the scent. No problem in the office or in the gym. Perfect for the beach or for a leisurely walk. Image: You’re on the way to up with friends after class at a cafe in the nicer part of town to chat about new job offers and interview experiences (and to brag about signing bonuses). You’re in the company of ambitious men and women and want to smell impressive. Maybe even talk to one of the ladies alone. While waiting for your drink, you notice the sun casting a golden-orange glow on the facade and bush outside, and this instantly lifts your mood. Despite being an above average performer, you have had persistent anxiety about your future. The sunlight on the stones instantly washes away your negative emotions and your senses return you fully to the present moment. The cafe is furnished with dark woods and bright stone, the smell of chocolate heavy in the air. You enjoy the lively conversation The thick tree cover in the parking lot blocks out the last moments of daytime. The cold air from the overhead vents politely remind you to go home soon. And to talk to the girl you’ve been eyeing once you all head out. You leave after shaking hands with your colleagues, a smile on your face, a new number in the phone. While smiling, you recount a day well spent.

I think a lot of folks on Fragrantica will try to break down the notes on a micro-level and its misleading because newbies like me will take it seriously, blind-buying thinking that I can actually smell the actual note distinctively. No, you do not — at least for this. On a macro level, it smells just like OG Light Blue. Yes, it is less pungent, less sharp and harsh like Eau Intense, but if you tell me this is more citrusy — I will just say by a slight bit. If you're looking for value-for-money, then nope. Get the Eau Intense instead — guaranteed longevity and performance. If you're into the REALLY subtle nuances of the flankers, then by all means, get this. All the nuances are highly negligible. I bought this thinking that this flanker will be significantly more citrusy, creamy but much to my disappointment, it's just 95% OG Light Blue plus a hint of citrus. How lacklustre! Bottomline: This smells 95% like OG Light Blue and not worth the money. Performance and projection are below average. Hope this helps all the newbies while I sell away my current bottle. Update: The drydown is beautiful with the vanilla / coconut / musky notes. But it's really just a skin scent after 30 minutes. Though beautiful and a good twist to the classic Light Blue DNA, what's the point of getting a perfume that you need to dig your nose into your skin to smell it?

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sun Pour Homme I feel has an unnessicary dislike. Sun has coconut as a note which typically makes fragrances an undetectable suntan lotion skin scent if it is a major note (see Set Sails Martinique for the suntan lotion accord and Eternity for Men Summer 2020 for coconut.) Instead to me, it plays as the most tropical Light Blue Pour Homme. Light Blue Sun Pour Homme opens with grapefruit, bergamot and ozonic notes with a slight ginger spice in there. It is bright and refreshing. The mid is coconut heavy and just that to my nose. The base is mostly musk with some vanilla. Light Blue Sun Pour Homme is perfect for summer vacations and warmer spring days. It works with tropical vacations or when you feel like being tropical similar to the Tommy Bahamas fragrances. This is a nice change in the Light Blue line which is mainly Medditerrean. Light Blue Sun Pour Homme lasts about 6/7 hours at best. I feel the suntan lotion feel you get from the coconut note makes it undetectable on your skin. For some reason the suntan lotion goes noseblind. I think the noseblind is what turns people off. Light Blue Sun Pour Homme is my favorite form of Light Blue I've gotten my nose on. I smell tested Forever and didn't like it. Light Blue Sun Pour Homme easily gets a 7.9 out of 10. Close to being a love for me, but not quite there.

When you glance through the reviews for this entry in the line, I'd be willing to bet that most people who tried this stuff and strongly disliked it are likely based in a colder climate or tried it during the winter. Light Blue Sun is a weird one-- the coconut in the base sits somewhere between lactonic and sunscreen, and there's a noticeably strong salty accord. The result of this combination is strongly dependent on the outside temperature you wear it in. While the original Light Blue (or eau Intense) works reasonably well in winter or normal days, Sun smells almost like dead ocean life if heat isn't involved. In hot climates however, it comes together. The coconut transforms away from "dead seaweed" and towards that classic sunscreen accord. It's good and I've definitely gotten positive reception when I wear it, but would honestly skip in favor of something else--unless you realllly enjoy this, you're better off getting any other summer fragrance that's just as good in heat that also doesn't go rancid if it's not sweltering out.

Opens up orangey, sweet citrus fruits like oranges is what I meant to say! It felt like squeezing some sweet oranges over the top of Light Blue Eau Intense, that's how it smelled to me. So it still retains the fruity vibe from Light Blue Eau Intense but this one when you smell them together it comes across smelling more like a sweet orange (off the top) whereas Light Blue Intense it's more aquatic, salty and fresher on my skin. Later on, it dies down into a subtile coconut vibe, that's pretty much what i was getting. Overall, It kind of reminded me of AHSEE without coconut vibe in it and definitely less creamier. Performance is also good, not as great as Light Blue Eau Intense but still good, it had given me almost 8 hrs.

"The top notes sell the fragrance" This is already available at Nordstrom here in the USA. I tried it yesterday and I was impressed with the grapefruit, which is the most prominent of the top notes. I found it refreshing and a nice change. I had hoped that it would last for the duration of the scent. But, sadly it doesn't last longer than ~10 minutes. Then, it turns into a slightly tweaked remix of the original Light Blue. Total longevity was ~2 hours, and then it turned into a skin scent. Projection was also good for about 30 minutes, but then a whimper. It's a nice variation of the original at first, but then it's the same old song and dance. I'll just stick with the original.

I was really looking forward to trying this new release and recently saw it in Nordstrom. They gave me a sample and I've been wearing it for a few days. As much as I thought I would like it, it's not that impressive. It opens with a very strong effervescent citrus and some ginger which comes across as awkward to my nose. After that, the ginger fades and it's just carbonated grapefruit. I'm not getting any coconut, rosemary or vanilla. All in all, I'm disappointed. Longevity and projection leave a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, it's a dislike from me. Scent: 6.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 6/10 Price: 7/10

This is about as relaxed as it gets. This is totally casual. This is for flip flops by a pool or on a beach. I definitely get a hot skin and suntan lotion vibe in the dry down. Really has its place and does great there. Smells a little more synthetic and projects a little more than some of my other fragrances. In a way it's nice and more authentic this way. The common sunscreen smell anywhere, even at the most expensive resorts, is kind of synthetic. This is a cool fragrance. I do like the SUN beach towel my bottle came with too. Like any time you need a beach towel you should wear D&G Sun. Makes sense.

for me this is in the middle between the OG and intense good blend of the aquatic and citrus note just a little bit of tropical feeling if you dont dig your nose, wou will not find the coconut note at all. and the coconut is not project well so no one will not notice that you are wearing this or intense But this is better for me because i can not stand for the strong aquatic note in the intense and the performance of the OG is very very lack Although the sun is perfect, it still perform only 2-3 and last only 5-6hours not like the intense that have a lot more than this.

@richmilton Nope, I personally don't see any similarities with Aqva Amara, instead I can see some similarities with D&G K and also with Light Blue Eau Intense, it carries the LB DNA. To put it simply, it's like a sweeter and warmer version of Light Blue Eau Intense, it has nothing to do with Aqva Amara in my opinion. Aqva Amara is bitter orange smell, a bit stronger and somehow enigmatic, while Light Blue Sun kinda has a milky coconut odor, with some sweet orange undertones on my skin. It's light, cheerful, sweet and slightly soapy. Good stuff for sunny days.

It really grew on me quite a bit lately I can't deny it. The initial blast is really, really good. I would place him at almost the same level with Acqua Di Gio's opening, in some way it kinda reminds me of that. Personally, I think that AdG's opening is one of the most beautiful openings i've encountered and this one is not too far away though. Across the board it's a subtle scent with coconut vibe accents. Unique (having its own uniqueness), calming and not that punchy (effective) as Light Blue Eau Intense in my book. Score: 8.5/10

Hmmmmm....???.....no suntan lotion vibes to my nose....??? At first I get the citrus/ginger.....then osmanthus/herbal....and musk..with just a "dash" vetiver/oakmoss, which for me brings out a green vibe....???....Coconut....???...ah, not really getting a full coconutty smell....and the vanilla musk kinda become prominent during the drydown. Oddly, I can feel it's name "SUN".....as it is "bright" and "beachy" in a way...and...sadly this one goes quickly to a skin scent on me. I do really enjoy the smell of this, tho.
