Velvet Blue Musk

‘Oriental’ is a mellifluous word, and it’s a shame it fell victim to disparaging misuse by some and is being cancelled for that, or so it seems because they’ve renamed this fragrance. As to the fragrance itself, I find that the combo of saffron, cumin and cardamom is definitely not for me. I smell the same warm spicy accord in Adam Levine for Women, Crystal Noir EDT and Bacche Fiori Legni. I think cardamom cuts both ways for me as it’s also present in many things I like. Saffron is most likely the worst offender. Thank god for samples. If your favourites have ‘warm spicy’ at the top of the accords pyramid, you might enjoy Velvet Blue Musk.

Nice scent, same as the original with the oriental name. I had orient musk by Milestone but I gave it away to family because there was something in it —perhaps LOTV, ylang or some other component(s) that made it very feminine. I wouldn't give this one away as quickly, because it smells better. But I also wouldn't pay retail or even half of that for it. Still, and nice fragrance that could use more musk, cypriol, sandalwood and cedar, and less rose and tonka imo. Good fragrance but not worth me paying niche prices,.unless it was <20% of retail. I like it, but I don't like it enough.

It smells like The One but woodier, muskier and more natural, very soft. Softened powdered sandalwood chips with some tonka amber sweetness. Also, it’s more of a skin musky scent. Nice but nothing groundbreaking. If I was looking for something like this I’d go with Parisian Musk or LV Lovers.

Same exact fragrance as Velvet Oriental Musk. "oriental" has become an offensive term because idiots have used it derogatorily for decades. But The Orient was always a place of richess and mystery. Alas...
