Velvet Infusion

I immediately fell in love with this scent! Tried it on at Sephora, left, walked around for a few hours and couldn't stop thinking about it. At first it smells very citrusy, I can definitely see how some people compare it to a "luxury hotel soap" smell. Mostly from the Bergamot, I think. However, the dry down is this amazing warm slightly spicy black tea smell, so delicious and irresistable. The citrus is less prominent in the dry down but it's still there. Definitely unisex. I think it leans a bit more feminine at the start and turns more masculine with the dry down. My only complaint is that the longevity is not what I'd expect of this price. It's not Bad per se, but for $400 CAD, I expected more. It lasted longer on my hair and clothes than on my skin. It lasted around 6ish hours on my skin, but becomes very faint. It's definitely overpriced imo, but I still love it nonetheless.

This is a refined steeped black tea fragrance with a smooth, tannic bitterness that feels like actual hot black tea rather than green stems or herbal notes. There is citrus, but it stays in the background — a light lift, not a dominant accord, and never sharp or cologne‐like. The overall impression is dry, photonic, and elegant, with no humidity, no sap green tones, and no masculine fougère edge. If you’ve struggled with tea perfumes that lean green, aromatic, or citrus peel bitter, this one finally delivers a true black‐tea experience. Expensive, but the polished tea fragrance is worth it.

🍵 Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Imagination — Sorry, Infusion :) Let’s not overcomplicate things. This isn’t some mysterious niche beast, it’s just a smooth daily wear with a green twist. Crisp citruses, airy woods, and a soft herbal nuance that keeps it from being too “soapy.” And seriously, who says this isn’t similar to LV Imagination is full of shit! This is basically a green Imagination. 75% Imagination + 25% its own DNA. Think of it as Imagination on full zen mode — calmer, greener, and more meditative. 8.5/10 — simple, wearable, versatile.

Opens with a smooth yet sparkly tea note that stays in the air for hours, along green watery ozonic notes. A hint of cedar as well. The scent is delicate and velvety, leans unisex/feminine. Better longevity on clothes than skin, ideal on cashmere/wool/linen. Great projection, however not overwhelming. Sits over time close to skin. High price point but worth it in my opinion. This fragrance softly screams « quiet luxury »... ___ Projection, sillage, longevity : 8/10 Originality, presentation : 8,5/10 Quality, value : 9/10 8,5/10

absolutely divine black tea fragrance. it took exactly one spritz and i was hooked. it's as if they liquified a ceylon cardamom tea bag and put it in a bottle. my only complaint is that the dry down leans a tad bit masculine...but it's otherwise so very perfect that i can excuse it.

If you're like me and you've fallen in love with this scent but the price isn't quite justified, try Armani's The Yulong. I find the dry down to be quite similar!

Tried in Nordstroms in early June when in Texas and loved it. (loved it layered with something else too.) Got a sample, which I'm now trying again 28 June 2025 - (evening, slept most of the day after a long week, warm both outside and inside and I've turned on the AC an hour ago, ate some food about 30 min ago but wasn't too strong, finished by period a few days ago at least, showered yesterday before I went to sleep. My skin itself today smells clean and a little sweet - no salt or sour) Sprayed Fischersund's No 8 on left about 20-30 minutes ago. Now this on right. - More of a 'perfume' smell at the top. From alcohol? Maybe Fischersund just has less and so it was very noticeable here? - honestly getting all of the listed notes at once, and in a very pleasant ratio. Interested how this will dry down. - does feel subtle. I like what someone else said re 'quiet luxury' - it feels like the scent in an expensive home - reading other reviews, the only other perfume this is being compared to that I would actually want to try may be Imagination by Louis Vuitton. The others have musk mallow, or white flowers, or other notes I don't like and so don't really want to try. Imagine however has spices (ginger, cinnamon, etc) so I don't see it being my 'summer' scent. - need to try this directly in comparison to The Noir 29 by Le Labo (another tea scent)

This smells more like Sunday Brunch by Kierin NYC than imagination. SB dries a bit warmer. Imagination is far more cologne. Infusion is less club cologne and more everyday, more well rounded. Smelling the bright tea along with some of the grassy greenness of the plant. It's so good though. Easy to get along with. Not many wouldn't like this, especially passers-by. I'm not a fan of straight unisex fragrances but this one really can easily be worn by most men or women. Really like this one! But I have Sunday Brunch already.

I've really been getting into fragrances lately so I was excited to try this one. To me it's 85% The Yulong by Armani Privee and 15% Imagination. It's mostly a black tea and citrus scent with just a touch of Imagination's soapiness deep in the background. It's unisex and very very nice, but like most people have said, it's exorbitant price is a deal breaker. The Yulong is close enough and significantly cheaper. Wulong Cha X also has a similar scent profile for less money.

Tested this in the Istanbul Duty Free when it just came out. Wonderful, office-appropriate, easy-reach fragrance that will definitely be joining my collection!

Wow, wow, wow. Everything from this line is just super sophisticated and screams quality. This line is a total underrated gem. I mean, Velvet Zaffrano is basically your Crystal Saffron Extrait but darker, smoother, and way more appealing. Velvet Amber Sun is exactly what I wish Grand Soir was like. And Velvet Desert Oud? It’s like TF Tuscan Leather but with somehow more sophistication and less of that leather—it has this super calming, sweet oud accord instead. At first, these might not seem entirely original, but they add something that makes them quite unique. That signature Dolce & Gabbana touch is definitely evident throughout. Now taking a look at Velvet Infusion. Seriously, this goes into the same realm as Imagination by Louis Vuitton, but they aren’t really that similar. The citruses in Velvet Infusion aren't that prominent; instead, it’s way more centered on the Tea and Mate notes with that spiciness from the Pink Pepper. It has this sweet Earl Grey black tea-kind of accord that is so smooth, relaxing, warm, and sophisticated. The Mate note gives it this green, spicy, slightly smoky-airy comfort, and the drydown is just woody and airy green. Also, I see folks here comparing it to Wulong Cha, but they are literally nothing alike aside from both being tea-based. Wulong Cha is bitter, more citrusy and fruitier, with a very noticeable musk. The tea accord there is completely different and way greener. Personally, I prefer this over Imagination. I would even dare to say it's a better quality fragrance. It’s one of the most comforting scents out there and so elegant. This is the: "I want to smell like Imagination but different, since everyone is already wearing that." It’s for when you're feeling just egocentric enough to say, "I feel superior to you wearing your Imagination."

Does not smell like Imagination but could be a distant relative of Imagination. What I get from this is beautiful high quality citruses and a tea note for support along side the pink pepper for some spice. Its beautifully done and would be amazing in the summer and spring. It has depth but still airy. It's not overpowering but no weak either. It a well balanced fragrance. It also has a little bit of a mineralic note in the background. However, the worse thing about this fragrance is the price. For the price I would choose Imagination over this all the time. If this comes out in discounters I would recommend picking up. If this came out in D&G light blue line, it would be a masterpiece and would fly off the shelves. They should of not put this in the private line. Bottom line, it's a very sexy fragrance with high quality ingredients but very expensive.

It bears absolutely no resemblance to LV's Imagination... I'm honestly amazed by how freely some people make associations: Tea’s listed in the notes? Ah, of course—it has to be Imagination, right?” I mean, seriously... That aside, this is a citrus and tea fragrance, in the same general vein as Thé Yulong by Armani or Wulong Cha by Nishane—though not identical, of course. My recommendation? Don’t be put off by its minimalism (though the price tag might give you pause). It’s a beautiful, high-quality, and elegant fragrance that smells expensive—and truly is. Personally, I think it’s worth every penny.

Elevated version of Bvlgari Pour Homme Extreme which came before The Yulong. Way more natural in every sense, fragrant citruses and umami tea bags, very photorealistic. The dry down is your typical iso e super sandalwood galaxolide cashmeran powderiness. One thing I noticed is that I miss wearing it, it’s somehow addictive which doesn’t happen with imagination, even tho I like that one more. performance is moderate to decent..

Similar to The Yulong but just a little denser, not very strong... I thought this was gonna be an Imagination killer but it's too simple and price doesn't help either. If I were to pick something in this category I’d get Wulong Cha or X for half the price. It’s missing more complexity that would have made it stand out more. If you want something in this realm, just get Bvlgari PH edp.

Completely agree with other comments that this is just like Armani’s Thé Yulong, especially the dry down. Super pleasant, and incredible of you love fresh tea fragrances. If you love the classic Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden, these 2 are an elevated version (However, I don’t think the price difference is justifiable).

Smells like a gorgeous hand soap. I normally do not like soapy scents but this one is incredibly intriguing. The main notes I am picking up are the tea and citruses making a clean and undeniable luxurious scent. This would probably be better as a body wash or hand soap but I cannot deny that it is a gorgeous scent.

I get annoyed by the lack of longgevity in this line. Try Bitter Splash by Dries van Noten if you want something like this with some lasting power. Edit: you can macerate quick by putting it at 3° C for 3 hours. This will amplify the projection and give it a little more longgevity.
