Velvet Pure

Luxurious, velvety and sophisticated. Beautiful bottle expensive and delicate case. Classy and expensive. I blind bought this because other votes suggested reminiscens of the discontinued Gucci Envy. I see why. The openings are very different but the drydown is very similar. I have no regrets about my blind buy... I loved this after first sniff. Its very green in the opening and the rest is creamy, soft and very well blended orris, galbanum, fig leaf, labdanum, vertiver and lovely Neroli. Crisp green freshness prefectly balanced. Well done I say. This will be a perfect replacement when I run out of Gucci Envy. Silage is an arms length and longevity is a little above average. A solid piece of perfumery. Heaven in a bottle. I love it !

Fresh cut green stems. Very similar opening to Fathom V with a drydown that reminds me of Synthetic Jungle.

I also bought this because of the suggestion that it’s similar to Envy. Not really, I’m afraid. There’s a hint, but they’re not going in the same direction. Pure is a soft, light green spring morning, extremely vegetal. No detectable florals (if it has narcissus as listed, it’s the stem!), which differentiates it from Envy. Closest resemblance is to Fueguia’s “Iguazu,” which isn’t on this site. A good wear for someone who doesn’t want to smell “perfumey.”

I woke with a booming headache this morning and post shower and medication I sprayed this. Soothing fresh and settling into slightly spiced sunny narcissus after the rain scent it really helped. I keep smelling a clean green background - no soap involved more the feel of the washed earth after a clearing storm when the bees buzz and the air is sprinkled with pollen. First time a scent has helped ease a headache - long lasting for me as well.

The main players are narcissus, fig leaf, neroli and vetiver. Very floral and very green. Quality of the ingredients used are top notch. It's not terribly unique and I wouldn't pay full retail because it's not my style. But I could see someone that loves these notes (particularly narcissus) would love this one. It's also pretty strong and long lasting without heavy use of aroma chemicals. Scent 7/10 Performance 7.3/10

Galbanum overdose in the best way. Smells like tramping and cutting through bush or you have scent time in your lush garden and did not change your clothes. -

Sorry but this is one of the few perfumes I had to scrub off. I tried giving it a second chance but the outcome was the same. All I get is fig leaf--initial spray to dry down. We had several fig trees as a child and I am very well acquainted with the smell, so if that is your thing, you will probably love this perfume. Fig leaf also reminds me of English ivy, which is another smell I don't particularly care for.
