DKNY My NY

I'm new here. This is my first post. I absolutely love this perfume. It takes me back to sharpening pencils in elementary school. I remember the pencil sharpener was positioned on the marble window sill of my old, non air conditioned school so when I would sharpen my pencils I could see my house directly across the street and zone out staring the window in a daze, daydreaming about what was going on at my house and wishing I was there, and sharpen my pencil down to a stump. When I spray this, I first get a gorgeous blast of fresh pencil shavings-nothing but those freshly shaved pencils for about 7 seconds, then the cool marble windowsill creeps up and settles in. This stuff is a shapeshifter. All day, each hour I catch another different, but equally warm, dry, and comforting. The fruit doesn't shine from my skin. It's completely woodsy on me and I love it. It's not one that my eyes roll back in ecstasy. It's a warm soft cashmere cuddle with leaves blowing round your feet on a dry sunny autumn day. I can wear this year round but it's best in the NorthEastern US fall. When it dries down on me, it's warm calm and inoffensive. Quiet and laid back. Stoned. After I get over the opening joy of pencil sharpening, it settles into a comfort. My cat's fur gets cross contaminated with this from me cuddling her and it smells so perfect on my fluffy white with tabby patches silly little cat. Yes. It's pencil shavings

My boyfriend got me this last summer (2014) for my birthday. Initially I wasn't too impressed as I was secretly wanting Coco Mademoiselle but surprisingly it became one of my all time favorites. At first it goes on very fruity....I thought it reminded me alot of the old raspberry body spray from BBW. But it mellows into a creamy vanilla berry scent and then fades to a creamy patchouli not a sharp dirty hippy patchouli though.... more like a soft, creamy subtle patchouli. I really loved it because my chemistry loves patchouli and so do I :) I went through the bottle and now regretting it because I can't find it anywhere now. It is definitely one of my all time favorites and had the potential to be my signature summer scent. If you love patchouli but don't like smelling like a dirty hippie I recommend this, that is if you can find it.

I had written a review that disappeared. I came back to this one on three separate excursions and it is now my go to end of summer/I am ready for fall scent. Office friendly, fruitchouli, but more. It is definitely balanced and I love patchouli, Midnight Poison is my "go to sleep" fragrance. It is really a step up for DKNY, I could never embrace the apple. This fragrance reminds me of a walk in the City, on one of those end of summer and you can feel the nip of autumn in the air afternoons. Heels clicking on pavement and you just want to light that praline/pumpkin/fall candle, but it is still August. The "nip" is the rasberry and the orris root and ambergris are such a nice foil. So, yep got the largest bottle and there feels like enough substance, that I may make it through it by the end of winter without boredom.

This has been discontinued and the prices are starting to climb... I was able to score a bottle on eBay for a decent price and I’m SO glad I did. Sweet, intoxicating, beast mode, has aged beautifully. A shameless, 2010’s fruitchouli (also a noticeable, creamy vanilla is present) that reminds me of my 20’s (I’ll be 38 this year). Great times in my apartment with my (still) best friend; pre-kids and husbands lol. I know fruitchoulis aren’t for everyone, but this millennial can’t help herself.

I bought my first bottle in 2015 and it was gone super fast (50 ml) And I bought my 100 ml in 2018 Still have about 30 ml left, this is a really good fragance, boring some may say, but lately I've been thinking this might be the key to stop this addiction - sticking to what I like, instead of trying to 'expand' my horizons.. It's not a philosophy I'd normally agree with, but I'm starting to realize that maybe for fragances, makeup and clothes, it makes sense

I wish I would have waited until Christmas to buy it. I paid $80 for the 3.4 bottle and now it's 50% off. I went back for lotion, the roller ball, and the mini size though so pretty happy about that. This one isn't unique but I think it's very office appropriate and unoffensive. It has much more staying power when coupled with the body lotion. The body lotion is terrific. I really enjoy the warm peppery note.

I'm finally finishing my 100ml bottle - 2016 I'm shocked at how good the perfume still smells and how much it projects. This is indeed a fruitchouli - to my nose the raspberry comes across as strawberry I have way to many perfumes now, but this one is a good one, very long lasting. I prefer it during the cold weather Edit 12/18/2024 Finally finished it 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I just purchased this blind at tjmaxx but ohhhh my goodessss, I mean wow so amazing it does remind me of coco mademoiselle but instead of that GRAPEFRUIT I get the RASPBERRY for sure. definitely cousins . longevity it's been 2 hours and I still smell the greatness of this magic hard for perfumes to stay so I'm so happy first dkny

I'm in love. Best blind buy ever. It's raspberry hard candy and vanilla extract with a patchouli that's well blended enough that I don't really notice it as an individual scent. I don't get much jasmine or freesia and I'm not mad about it. It lasted 7 hours of my workday (in an air conditioned office). 10/10, will repurchase.

I went to my chemist near my house and bought different DKNY Perfumes I have necter love and stories and my ny and this one I'm talking about is my ny and I love my ny so much honestly my ny smells so beautiful and it smells so fruity and sweet and I love it so much

I like it. Not test it yet just smelled the bottle and it reminds me of diamonds edp off Armani. No one mentioned this one but it truly is in the line of diamonds. The sweet, spicy and sexy smell is nice but like i said i haven't tried it on my skin yet.

salty from ambergris, raspberry, pepper, patchouli, little floral underlying, musk Ambergris is a MAIN note. This fragrance is salty. like CK Reveal had a baby with a dark patchouli raspberry pepper fragrance

I was very bummed when I saw Rita Ora as the face of that perfume😅but on me it smells like a sweet red gummy bear so I had to have it🤷 I am on my second bottle and still enjoy it very much

I think this is Lovely, I received it as a present and wear it alot it's a nice feminine sweet (but not too sweet) warm delight

This one reminds me a lot of Guerlain La petite robe Couture.

Well this is strange..... I have had a 100ml 97% full bottle knocking about in my perfume collection for the past 100 years! I can't even remember how l got this or when or who from. Its a mystery to me honestly. I tried it oh so many years back and hated it because l could smell the patchouli and l hated that smell so much it always reminded me of hippies that didn't wash, white people with dred locks and tie dyed clothing and festivals with tons of them rolling cigarettes from a tin of tobacco with dirty fingernails. Ewwww! (Oh the images a smell can conjure up). So I've never worn it and it's one of those perfumes that's a nightmare to have on your dressing table with your other perfumes especially if you're a neat freak who likes your perfume bottles clean and sparkling like a department store showcase. The amount of pointless grooves and notches and corners in the lid of this bottle will drive you insane, they gather dirt and dust and you can't get deep into the corners unless you use a toothbrush to scrub them and even after you think you got it all you always miss some, its maddening, what a crap design for a lid. Its pure effort and maintenance for a perfume! Sooo.... fast forward 100years to the present time and I'm walking past my dressing table and l glance at it and it's so old the colour of the liquid has changed and gone a darkish peach colour and l thought let me have a little spray see if I like it now since I'm more than a decade older and don't mind a bit of patchouli in a perfume so much now, so long as its mixed well with other scents so it's not the strongest scent in the mix, and bugger me, it's bloody lovely!!! Wtf is going on here? This perfume is clearly taking the piss out of my life right now and playing tricks on me! It smells like Miss Dior the one with the Metal silver bow. I guess you have to wait for some fragrances to be right for you. I'm going to start wearing it now. I give it a 7.5 /10.

Upon first spray, this immediately reminded me of coco mademoiselle, but sweeter and fruitier, like one of the other reviewers also said. You can immediately smell patchouli among everything else. I could also smell the fresh liveliness of the pink pepper, fresh raspberry and beautiful white musk. It is a very uplifting, energizing scent because of these top notes. As it sat on my wrist and the top notes settled some, I could really smell the orris root mixing with the raspberry among a deeper backdrop of vetiver and patchouli. Although the zestiness was still there. This scent has a lot of earthiness and spiciness, which I LOVE. Lovers of Gucci Guilty and Chanel Chance will love that spiciness. As my body temperature rose throughout the wearing, the scent became warmer with it, and I could really smell the beauty of the vetiver in the drydown, but all the top and middle notes became more blended and subdued, but created a warm, musky smell...in heaven.. I kept getting whiffs of a Coco Mademoisellish scent because of that patchouli + fruit combo. However, I don't like coco mademoiselle all that much because it wears way too strongly on me. This is lighter but still has so much body, and you gotta be a fruitchouli lover to get this. All in all, I love this scent and was sorry I didn't buy the 100ml because this will become my fall staple!

My friend gave me this because she couldn't stand the smell. It gave her a headache she said. First time I tested this on my skin, it wasn't an instant love for me. I have always use the sweet fruity gourmand type of perfume, so this was something new for me. I didn't dislike it but also didn't love it either. But for some reason I kept reaching to this beauty and spray it on me just to test it. I suggest test it on your skin first or buy a small bottle tester of it to see if the smell grow on you or not. And I have to say, it took me a while but finally I can smell comfort in its scents. Its very sweet patchouli smell at first spray with a hint of raspberry and slightly vanilla. Then it just gets warmer and prettier. After 3 hours, the dry down smells like soft musk with hint of vanilla. I agree when someone said its not sophisticated nor sexy. To me its rather casual. The kind of perfume you'd wear after a hot shower before enjoying quiet night with a cup of tea..that's how I describe it.

DKNY MyNY / Donna Karan - 04/23/2015 This is a very safe, quite affordable and pleasant perfume which I recommend either for yourself or to be offered as a gift. I believe it will not disappoint. It is a chic floral which makes it a lovely choice for the spring and summer months, suitable for every occasion. It has a pleasant, clean, fresh, inoffensive neutrality which I favour. I do not detect much of musk or vanilla or patchouli. Instead, I feel happy surrounded by freesia and raspberry notes. I do not consider it sophisticated or sexy as I rather detect a carefree, playful girly attitude which I honestly like. It is not sweet at all which, in my view, separates it from the overly sweet trend of the moment (which is a nice thing.) It has a good lasting power and I could smell it on my scarf on the next day. I would compliment a lady wearing it and I do recommend it. Enjoy the perfume quest. Regards Josephine

I avoid DKNY like the plague... Not because I don't like their fragrances, I've just had too many people overspraying Be Delicious and Red Delicious in public restrooms. So you have that clean toilet smell with some DKNY - because of that, I always associate the Delicious range with toilets. That being said, the Sales Assistant basically INSISTED that I try this. He said it was nothing like the DKNY range. A little scared & weary, I allowed the poor man to spray this on me. I gave a polite 'thank you, may I try some other fragrances?' and walked on. But then it hit me... Beautiful pink pepper & patchouli (I've noticed that these ingredients really love my skin chemistry) and I gave in. I bought a small 30ml because I'd already picked out something else which was rather expensive. But this fragrance is gorgeous. The musk comes out quite a lot later, but it subtle & mixes very well with the other notes.
