Donna Karan Women Energizing

I’m a bit confused as to whether this fragrance differs from DKNY Women. I’m pretty sure I remember when this launched as I remember reading an interview with the face of the fragrance (the supermodel Anja Rubik if my memory serves me correctly) and being intrigued by the concept, so I am assuming it is a separate fragrance to DKNY Women. However, when I search for DKNY Women perfume, all the stock photos show a box which has Energizing written on it. Are they two separate scents?! I really like this, I wasn’t sure about the tomato note but thankfully it smells like a nice green note and not like ketchup or Bloody Mary cocktail 😂. On me this dries down to almost like an aldehyde kind of perfume. I really like aldehydes (thanks to Chanel No.5!) and the citruses in this are quite aldehyde-like to my nose. The orange in this is lovely, a bit like a glass of fresh orange juice first thing in the morning. I’m not sure if there is vodka in this or not as online descriptions seem to vary but I feel like I can pick up on it. I do like vodka as a perfume note, it’s very clean and fresh. This is a lovely perfume that I can use as a dumb reach or when I want a break from my other spicy or oud beast mode perfumes or my gourmands. I wish it projected more, the longevity is good but it is very much a skin scent on me, although my skin eats up citrus scents in seconds! I have the EDT, not sure if the EDP has more sillage, will have to test this out. I detect a vague resemblance to Clinique Happy and Estée Lauder Pleasures, it’s very much in that vein if that helps anyone figure out if they’d like this. Very much citrus-fresh to my nose, not floral in the slightest. A proper fresh perfume, so perfect for professional settings and hot weather, although I am wearing this in winter on a very cold day and it smells just as good. I think it is just beautiful, apart from the lack of sillage, that being said, Milton Lloyd’s She JYUK dupe has more projection so I think I will layer the two. Have received compliments on it too so it obviously suits me. Always seems to be on offer in the U.K. quite a unique and underrated gem in my opinion.

When I was buying this in TKmaxx last summer I was under impression I was getting the original from 1999, and only after I came back home I realised my mistake, I haven't worn it properly till today. I have have some sort of mini obsession with Y2K era perfumes for a while now, for many different reasons, one of them is that I was a teenager and couldn't afford even mainstream designer perfume, and most of the stuff that was popular and innovative back then is either discontinued or now considered dated. This is only lucky for me, because I can discover wearable creations that are not going to be polarising and not going to suffocate someone and I will be able to experience and enjoy while wearing, before they go into the obscurity and oblivion. This flanker does have that Y2K vibe for me and I am absolutely smitten. I am pretty sure the vodka note is an absolute gimmick, because vodka is 40 percent ethyl alcohol and 60 percent water and perfume contains that stuff by default. The citrus game is strong, zesty and astringent, yet very noble, bitter and never venturing the toilet cleaner territory. I don't perceive violet leaf here, it's more reminiscent of the tomato leaf as stated in the original one's notes. The florals are present, but they are polite, well behaved and up for teamwork in this composition. There's a sparkly effervescent aspect as well which must be some sort of aldehydes or even a mixture of sparkly and metallic ones. I totally dig someone's comparison with One Of Those [Hg]. Yet if I had to draw parallels with what it reminds me in nyche I must say this does exactly what MFK Aqua Universalis did for me - Clean, noble, zesty citrusy number for hot weather. It also had the same vintage laundry detergent powder softest musks blend. Reminds me of handwashed and line-dried clothes from my childhood memories.

"SILVER" GIN & SAKE Scent - Airy Sharp Citrus & Floral. I'm not sure if there's a cocktail that combine sake and gin, but this would be it. There's the sharp, tart citrus that's near the juniper-berry of gin in the opening, and the ozonic floral-vodka notes of sake in the heart, all resting on a soft woody base. Having said that, the trail isn't one of alcohol, but a refreshingly, cold "shower fresh" mountain mist. This smells like a familiar perfume to me, and I can't quite place if it's from the original DKNY Women, as I haven't had my nose on that in a long time. Has a silvery cologne vibe, with performance that exceeds expections for this category of scent. Contrast to Aqua Universalis Maison Francis Kurkdjian: These are different, but I can see why they've been compared as there is an overall similar vibe. Aqua Universalis has a more forward white-floral quality, while DKNY Women Energizing has the more forward gin & sake vibe. Roughly equivalent performance. Contrast to Sultan Al-Rehab: These are different, but there is a similar silvery cologne vibe, although Sultan has a more obvious juniper-berry note while DKNY Women Energizing has the more forward floral-sake quality. Roughly equivalent performance, but slightly better projection for DKNY and slightly better longevity for Sultan which come in a little attar roller-ball oil. Contrast to Romance Ralph Lauren: These are different, but I can see why they've been compared, as there is a similar 'silver' quality. Romance has more of a silver perfume quality, while DKNY Women Energizing has more of a silver cologne quality, amongst other difference. Roughly equivalent performance, or slightly better for Romance. Overall: delightfully refreshing 'silver' gin & sake scent with above average performance. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

I couldn't agree with Indigo more!!! These two scents are so similar and they both share this unusual combination of tomato leaf/wet T-Shirt/citruses/vodka kind-of-thing which is just amazing. I'm surprised to see that tomato is not listed here while it is really prominent - not any less than in EDP. Anyway, I love this scent, I'm happy to have it and I know it will be more than great fun to be using this on hot summer days.

Perfect in the heat.It is a crisp , fresh , tarte citrusy scent. The vodka note takes away the tendency for it to be bathroom cleaner /textbook citrus which is absolutely great. The middle floral notes especially the lotus still make it have a feminine edge even if this can be pulled off by a guy. Dries off to a woody base that still manages to come off light and not bitter. Will definitely be rocking this in the summer!

This is one of my all time favourites although it is one you love or hate - my other half really isn't keen on it but I LOVE it. So refreshing on a hot summers day, invigorating in the mornings & lasts ages. I also like the original but no where near as much as this. I guess the vodka notes & citrus suit me & I like the slightly woody dry down.

This was a blast-from-the-past buy for me, a hark back to ye olde DKNY. After spending what seemed like ages trying out new fruity florals and vanilla based scents, a spray of this was like a breath of fresh air. Genuinely mood-boosting - must be the iced vodka! But I also think it smells a bit like coriander! Good for layering too.

Donna Karan Women is citrus peels in ice cold vodka blended with very light aquatic floral notes and crushed violet leaves. This scent is so underappreciated, unbelievably fresh, and completely unisex! So many people have told me how good I smelled and wanted to know what fragrance I was wearing. Crisp, clean, cool bottled delight!

a quick update: despite its magnificent smell, it has NO STAYING POWER AT ALL. what a waste of a nice scent and money :(

Fresh, light, energising....My new signature fragrance, my new "fragrance" love story

This is a love or hate fragrance, for sure. I faintly remember the original from 1999. An old friend of mine wore it and it suited her perfectly. Super crisp and aloof, urban, and in my mind very elegant. Nothing smells like this and even this reformulation (in EDP concentration) does the original (a little) justice. Notes have been simplified and re-arranged (where did the tomato go?) but the overall impression stays rather true to its roots. When you first spray this it hits you in the face and wakes you up. This is not for lovers of sweet, oriental fragrances, that is of course if they don't want to step out of their comfort zones :) It is very aromatic and dries down to a citrus floral with a sharp (kinda woody and musky) edge. Glorious in summer but even more so during the colder months. I could imagine Elsa from Frozen smelling like this ;) A true gem and I'm glad it is still - in one form or another - part of the range. Very affordable too. So if you like a sharp floral with citrus that is highly unique - try this. And ignore the initial spray! Want list for sure.

I had a small sample of this perfume along with lotion years ago and Loved it! I decided to purchase the perfume. I got Energizing version, not sure if other one exists, or how different it is (please let me know if you got some info). What I really liked in the lotion I sensed more of a tomato leaf, warm sunny days, greenery and earthy tones, love that scent overall. Hints of it here, it's mainly quality citrus, bitter citrus, grapefruit and lemons, vodka, and violet leaf; definitely green notes play well with refreshing citrus. Soft floral are in the background, drydown part. At first it is more brash and softens with time. It is a cool, dry scent, can be Unisex. This is good stuff! I mean great stuff. It is unique and I would recommend for people that like neutral, refreshing, clean and citrussy scents, it's worth a try. Overall, Great Like, Thumbs Up!

I agree with everyone who mentioned cleanliness. It's a green scent that will instantly make you feel clean. First spray is heady and sharp because of the Narcissus I guess, but if you're patient enough to give it a chance, you might end up enjoying a very fresh and uplifting summer fragrance. I imagine myself strolling around on a warm sunny day wearing a white tee, blue jeans, brown leather belt, a fedora, a linen scarf and comfy espadrilles. My Ray Bans, red lipstick and this perfume will be the perfect final touch to complete the look.

It has such a winning start of true grapefruit. It lasts about an hour before turning floral with lotus appearence then soapy with birch appearence. It is refreshing, clean, effortless. Perfect for spring and summer, for professional and private settings. The original was more feminine, but it is still a feminine blend. The start is worth having it. Lovering it from love for the old formula to like of my new bottle. I feel it for at around 7hours, maybe longer. 4 hours in and I still feel the freshness of the top appering in the formula.

One of my favorites when it comes to summer fragrances. It was a complete surprise that I liked it, because usually when it comes to DKNY, I'm not the biggest fan. It smells like a summer drink - refreshing, sparkling, citrus and vodka combine. Very strong, so be careful how much you spray it. I wear it especially when it's super hot outside. It leaves a trail, so if somebody is passing you by, he will definitely smell it. Gorgeous!

Impulse purchase for an easy, clean, after shower scent. Reminds me of being 9, rubbing magazine samples up my arms in a dentist office. A refreshing 2000s mood without being too intense or suffocating with cheap spiciness. The vodka note is there and can lean bathroom cleaner, but only if you focus on it too hard...but I much rather it be in there, keeps it interesting.

The perfect 'after the shower scent' which makes you smell extremely clean and refreshing. This could also work for a good gym perfume or for those days you don't wanna worry about how you smell and just wanna smell put together and clean. I think for some people the 'vodka' note throws people off, but i think it just adds to its clean smell.

Smells just like fresh skin out of the shower after using a fresh shower gel. Can't really smell individual notes, but this scent is definitely fresh, cool and clean snelling. It's a good scent for summer, also if you work in a place that perfume isn't allowed, like a hospital or nursing home, as it just smells fresh.

After the vodka top note diffuses away after a few minutes, this strong industrial cleaner smells morphs into a delightful, clean dryer sheet scent that is very addictive and uplifting. It lasted on my clothes for about 3 hours. It fades off of my skin within an hr. It’s short lived clean, dryer sheet cloud.

I bought this to gift and totally loved it! The name fits it perfectly, it really is energizing. It's definitely a spring summer scent but it's not predictable at all. It gives me girlboss vibes. The vodka it's key but don't be afraid, it does not smells like alcohol. I'll get one for myself soon!

This one is absolutely terrible when sprayed. I almosed choked myself BUT after it settles down I can apreciate it - has an interesting vibe. Anyway I would probably never ever buy this one. It ́s one of my boyfriend ́s mother favorite scents, kinda signature I would say.

A very fresh citrusscent for spring/summertime. Timeless - both for teenagers and women, I think. En otroligt fräsch citrusaktig doft för vår/sommar. Tidlös, både tjejen o kvinnan passar i den, tycker jag.

Finding this one unique/interesting, refreshing citrusy, summery somewhat vintage and even unisex. Definitely worth its price for its uniqueness and quality. Can’t wait to get my own bottle!

Bought a decant of this and smells piercingly fresh! Its a tad on the deodorant vibe side on the sillage, but smelling it upclose on the skin its quite nice. I get the appeal

Wow. Wet and fresh. Like morning dew in a vegetable garden. For warm mornings. Almost identical to Aqua Universalis, but much cheaper.

This is better for the night.. siting in a nice bar close to a park, listening to ambient music ... enjoying a nice talk and people passing by. the dry down is good..u get a bit sweetness from the flowers..

Fresh, crisp and very citrusy fragrance. Good for hot summer days. It does not last long on skin though. Got it as a gift, don't think I will purchase it in future. Overall it's OK but nothing wow about it.

Very fresh and sporty. I would call this a unisex fragrance (shame it says "WOMEN" on the bottle) I plan on wearing this on hot days and at the gym. Very refreshing!

This smells like pine cones in the worst possible way. I got a tester and I was just no, no, no,. The vodka is not working here for me at all. It's too strong. I think it would work better as a medicine against blocked nose. I should say this could be unisex perfume, but no, if I don't want to smell it on women then definetly I don't want to smell it on men. It surely gave me energy too run away from it.

I got this by swap and I think it's gone bad. Or if it isn't it just won't suit me. It smells like very sharp citrus and some heavy wood, maybe pine. I get no fresh or floral notes, all I get is sting of sharp notes. Like an old man with too much aftershave. The bottle has to be gone bad because others seem to find pretty notes from this.

What.did.I.just.smell I read bad reviews quite often and think 'nahhh surely it can't be as bad as they're making out'...this really was that bad. Lemon kitchen cleaner vibes, then it just got worse, so bad that I couldn't bear to smell it long enough to distinguish what notes I was smelling. Nope.

Way, way too sharp. Smells like someone spilt a really concentrated citrus drink all down me. Then a sharp blast of Violet Leaf which I normally enjoy but it's way too loud and nothing else is given the chance to emerge. I'm not too sure what Ms Karan was trying to achieve with this one.

I don't like it. I cannot smell any citruses, just pine, wich is very harsh on my skin... I feel like I used my boyfriend's perfume. This one is definitely not for me, although might fit others well.

Bought accidentally instead of DKNY Women, which is beautifully light, cold and fresh. Energizing has additional smoky, leathery notes that just dirty it up for me. Definitely unisex.

Sour Lemon... this is good only as a dish soap.

Absolutely hate this! I remember my first boyfriend buying me this for Christmas and finding it repulsive. I love soapy, clean scents but this screams cheap out of date soap in a public bathroom. Alcohol and soap heavy, headache inducing.

I found a vintage version of this on EBay and I couldn’t resist buying it. I am debating if it’s real. It did come in the strobe light box and has DKNY stamped on the lid. Whereas the newer version has DKNY women scrawled across the flanker in huge text, the original has “women” in small letters at the base. My bottle doesn’t have women written anywhere on the actual bottle. I have seen other bottles for sale of the vintage version that are also missing the women stamp at the base. Two panels of the glass are frosted and two are clear. It also has a DKNY sticker on the bottom of the bottle with: DKNY Fragrance, 3.4 FL oz and then the New York address. It doesn’t have a batch number. Does anyone happen to know if this is legit??? I didn’t pay an extravagantly higher price for it so I don’t understand the logic behind passing this off as real. P.S. All these years later I have solved the mystery... I had a vintage version of the MEN’S cologne. The seller sold me a box with the women’s label and either knowingly or mistakenly gave me the men’s version. You can tell from the label on the bottom. Men’s say simply fragrance and the women’s version will have energizing EDP specifically listed. I love a unisex fragrance so it’s not a huge loss for me. Tomato plant isn’t even listed in the notes for the male version but I swear it’s there. Anyway, what motivated me to hunt down an original bottle of this rather than a reformulated bottle was the fact that people were saying this is a beast of longevity. Also, the original is supposed to less screechy and more clean. The first spray is STRONG. It really does smell like straight up vodka. Then the tomato leaf plunges it into a Bloody Mary. After about 20 minutes it becomes a citrusy bouquet of white flowers. It’s a really unique scent! I don’t have anything like it in my collection. I do get a clean T-shirt type of vibe to this. Maybe it’s because it’s indeed a vintage bottle but this doesn’t last on my skin. I can’t detect that the fragrance has turned at all to my nose but then again I wouldn’t know because I have nothing to compare it to. This lasts like 4 hours even layered with body lotion. Actually, I am starting to wonder if these perfumes are lasting past the point where I can detect them. Maybe I am just going nose blind to them after a certain point. This is perfect for summer. There’s a refreshing, glacier sensation to it. I don’t find it heavy at all.

I'm totally confused by the DKNY Women Energizing & DKNY Women separate listings ! I have an EDT in a clear bottle (on the the box it says "energizing" & on the bottle it just says DKNY Women. Then I found a good deal on an EDP gift set. The EDP is in a frosted bottle - it also says just DKNY Women on the bottle but the matching body lotion says "energizing", & so does the gift set box.The SA I bought the gift set from assured me it was the "original" DKNY Woman perfume.....Anyway, I've now come to the conclusion that Women & Women Energizing must actually be one & the same perfume...I think? Comparing the EDT & EDP with one on the back of each hand, I think the EDT may just be slightly more fresh/bitter in the top notes. As for the scent itself, well it's lovely (on me). I can't add more than has already been said. Fresh but not sour/screechy citrus (I get mostly orange). It's slightly sweet but manages to avoid the "fruit in syrup" effect . The tomato leaf & vodka provides a nice counter balance & adds a little bitterness & "bite". It's like a vodka & orange on ice. As the top notes fade it smells just fresh & clean. I don't smell any leather, as it progresses it softens a lot & unfolds to more floral/green/woody. THEN I sprayed this on my son, on him it's horrible. It smells like pungent sharp industrial strength cleaner, just as the negative reviews here describe it. It's like a completely different perfume on him. So I believe in the the "skin chemistry" theory with this one, for sure! This perfume probably wouldn't appeal to those who like their fruits super sweet & sugary or with a gourmand twist (I don't) - so for me a perfect fresh summer fragrance for work.

So first off yeah, it's confusing and I don't know what version of this I have. I bought it used and my bottle looks like the pic on this page - with "DKNY women" in big silvery letters printed on the bottle itself, rather than gray letters on the cap. All sides are clear. Sticker on bottom has batch code C51 (May 2011), and says DKNY Energizing Eau de Toilette, + addresses etc. But, I would be so surprised if the top notes of mine weren't supposed to include tomate leaf. It's not photorealistic, but possibly the closest one I've sniffed in a fragrance. Anyway. Whatever I have is possibly the crispest scent I've ever felt, pretty sharp, different enough from anything else. But at the same time it's fairly perfumey, in the more recent dryer-sheet sense. It's crisp and fresh and sharp green-citrus, but on the verge of sweeter fruity as soon as it starts to dry down, and the loud background is less "gardening/breathing mountain air", more "duty-free shopping". When I was a teen I remember it being marketed as "for people who hate perfume", which made it the very first perfume to interest me. (I was also a sucker for the cool urban career woman aesthetic they were going for, even if I never wanted, and indeed never achieved, a career.) It is not quite that, but it might've been at the time, before the whole era of Clean & dryer sheet fragrances. Which might be why I don't end up reaching for it much. Too perfumey to be satisfying at home, a bit too sharp to feel like a safe everyday stench-masker. But probably still nice in the air-conditioned offices it was conceived for.

NOTICE: did you guys notice, that the bottle of EDT & EDP look now the same - they’re transparent...? Formerly EDP bottle was „frozen”... BEWARE: bought EDT & it’s veeeeeerrrry weak - the smell stays for ca. 15 mins :(. I’m DISAPPOINTED , while EDP is ok - stays much longer. The SCENT: for so many years, still UNIQUE and different from all the scents on the shelves. It’s definitely sharp and fresh, but not in the usual citrusy way. I can smell the CLOVE - but can’t see it on the list.... can anyone else smell it? 😂 Me, the lover of Chanel’s Coco Noir, YSL Opium and vanillas, have been growing up to this for a few years. I have known the scent for years, but always considered it too sharp. Finally bought it for summer and I’m wearing it with pleasure.

I bought this as it was on offer at Superdrug and I liked DKNY Summer so I felt it was worth a go. The first hit was vodka on ice with a twist of lemon! As it dried down the woody scents kicked in, to give some much needed warmth to the fragrance. Very little of anything floral and I can't really find any depth to it. However this is an energising scent and veers very close to a clinically clean smell but I quite like that freshness. It's staying power isn't the greatest but I did get little wafts of vodka during the day, which was quite unusual. Saying that I will wear it, on days when I need to be kick-ass and no nonsense! You won't seduce anyone with this one but if you're off for a morning run - spray liberally!

Very clean and beautiful scent. I bought it for my outdoor pool visits during this spring. My partner likes it for himself and going to buy one for his mom too.. so i can say its joy for every gender. it could bit cloying in winter though funnily enough, but in spring and summer with a bit of breeze its a pure delight. Always check the profile of the people to understand what sort of perfumes a reviewer is into before taking their opinion seriously.

the first sniff of the fragrance smells like the glass of fanta :) , than it changes in few minutes to the smell of a clean laundry an it lasts. nothing more, nothing less. if you like fresh clean fragrances, you can give it a try. But for me its too common, like i would dress myself in the morning to freshly washed dress. like it would not be complete. this perfume is missing something that would make it memorable, what would blowed me away

i'd have to agree, there is something that just doesn't even set right on paper with this fragrance! It's pungent, heady and musky. I couldn't even distinguish what was in there. A touch of creaminess to my nose, but it simply doesn't even work together. If I want to smell of tomato floral vodaka I'll eat some nasturtiums, take a shot of vodka and wash it down with a V8 tomato juice chaser.

Polo Sport,by Ralph Lauren, it reminds me of that scent. It starts fresh though loud, but it only lasts for a short while. It's a good after shower scent and I suppose you can layer it with other fragrances that share some of its notes, Pleasures by Estée Lauder comes to mind and the aforementioned Polo Sport. It's ok if you like clean, vibrant smells, I find it a little screeching, though.

Omg I received a sample and sprayed it on my arm without expecting or knowing anything about this perfume Omg what a mistake ! Weird weiiiiird perfume Crisp and fresh but in a bad way, like a bad bad bad male shower gel It lacks something sweet or floral I had to wash it off because it's stroooooong Maybe because i'm used to sweet gourmand and oriental perfumes

In my opinion, this is a fabulous scent! I typically do not go for these ozonic type clean scents but I'm in love. I can easily see myself wearing this daily. It's very similar to OUI by Lancome which may be discontinued. It's a better version as well. If you like that scent or Estee Lauder Pleasures, this it it!

No, no, no...to citrate. Sharp...takes to long for dry down but when it does its fresh and nice love the orchid, and woody notes. Last a few hours...bout four. Not for me, prefer creamier frags, such as pure and cashmere mist, tm alien. As well as orientals such as Ck Euphoria blossom. And Oooh Narcissi R

First impression: this is lovely! Clean and fresh and so similar to the original DKNY woman. I'd say identical. Takes me back to 2002??? Avoid this if you like sweet fruity gourmand scents and wear to your hearts content if you love fresh clean soapy citrus smells.
