Mystere

I have this as parfum/extrait in the squat rectangular crystal flacon by Baccarat , the stopper displays the top-hatted head of Count D'Orsay molded in relief, beautiful bottle containing a rich combo of resins & balsams, tobacco, patchouli, sandalwood & cognac/ambre accords etc. my bottle was sealed in it's original coffret when purchased, I can just smell the juice close to the sealed neck, vintage liqueur muscat wine & rich aged golden Turkish tobacco comes to mind, also more masculine to my nose? the gold braided sealing cord is rather unique as it folds over the top of the stopper while coming together underneath without the need to knot or tie, the ends join then drape tightly over the front of the bottle and are held securely in place (sealed) by a burnished gold cartouche titled 'MYSTERE'. I believe my example dates from the late 1940's to the mid 50's, gorgeous original ecru & gold cardboard coffret presentation from D'Orsay, both stopper and base are numbered 88 & acid etched Baccarat, a gorgeous vintage presentation that I proudly display, it came from a lovely eBayer in Myrtle Beach South Carolina many years ago, sadly there are just too many restrictions placed on the international post of perfumes plus postal charges have become totally unreasonable with some sellers demanding small fortunes to post a tiny flacon of extrait/parfum, I'm talking hundreds$$$$$$, not viable anymore... :(

L'homme vert lucky you! i would have had to open it and wear that beauty! the older i get i start to think how quickly life can end and why am i saving so many things........
