Ambery Jasmine

This isn’t bad, but there are noticeable differences between it and the original DBIR. I sprayed the original on one arm and dossier on the other this morning. Notes: it was immediately evident that DBIR has a prominent vanilla/cashmeran/amber note that is hardly present in the dossier. My nose isn’t trained well enough to know the difference - my immediate sense was that there was no vanilla in the dossier. DBIR dries down to primarily base notes on me relatively quickly. Dossier smells different. It’s hard to put my finger on what I’m getting from dossier, but it’s vaguely tangy or fruity, almost green, but not quite, and it reminds me of body sprays I smelled in Victoria’s Secret as a tween (albeit nice ones.) It doesn’t necessarily smell synthetic in a bad way but it almost certainly is synthetic if that makes sense. Does the dossier smell good? Yes. Does it smell similar to DBIR? Yes, but it smells a bit cheap and juvenile compared to a more playful but refined DBIR. Another review said it smells like diet DBIR, and that checks out. Longevity: It’s now 10:30pm and I can still smell both faintly. I doubt anybody around me could smell much. DBIR mostly smells like vanilla and base notes at this point. Dossier is more tangy or fruity. Sillage: similar. Surprisingly weak. When to Wear: dossier is more of a daytime scent or something I imagine a 20something wearing to go out. That sounds so judgmental but it just isn’t complex. DBIR is more versatile. Bottle: I don’t find it offensive but it just isn’t nice to look at like the rest of my fragrances. I haven’t bought many dupes before this so it’s hard to rate it but I probably would not buy from dossier again. It just lacks the complexity, intrigue and refinement of the original and isn’t conveying that sort of the point of fragrance? Full disclosure: I like DBIR but I don’t love it. I much prefer the Green Stravaganza flanker or similar fragrances like YSL Libre or Burberry Goddess so this wasn’t going to be a glowing review regardless.
