It Factor

This one totally caught me off guard. When I first sprayed it, the opening felt loud. Like it barged into the room before I even had time to notice. I gave it a quick sniff on the back of my hand and moved on, convinced it wasn’t for me. Fast forward an hour... I kept catching a trail of something warm, spicy, and hypnotic floating around me. I looked around like, what smells amazing?? then realized it was me. The dry down is absolutely stunning. A glowing, spicy vanilla that feels like cashmere soaked in sunlight. It clings to the skin and has serious staying power. Don’t sleep on this on... it might just seduce you when you’re not paying attention.

I looove the incense notes on this, the opening gives me witchy granola girl vibes lol The opening is very strong and lasts maybe 30min to 1h on me. Then once it dries down it turns into something more sweet and close to skin, so beautiful and unique, and lasts maybe another 4h. Can't wait for fall to come back around to use it more often!

Well blended fragrance 💯 . This is a gem from Dossier. The ginger 🫚, brown sugar, Cardamom, sandalwood and caramel with that slight hint of incense goes well with the other minimal notes that I don't smell. I love this so much that I own 2 50ml bottles I needed 100ml in total. You won't need many sprays of this as well.

Picked this up now that dossier is in target and I am not disappointed!! It’s a great transitional fall scent and mature spicy gourmand. It’s been hard for me to find a coffee shop-esque scent and this fits the bill pretty well without having an explicit coffee note.

I didn’t expect much out of a dossier, but was pleasantly surprised. Nice gingery-smokey opening thanks to the cardamom, then it dries to sweet sugar and incense. I love it. Incredible.

This smells like a 30 yr old woman, with a good job in sales, headed to Nordstrom after work, before the gym, to browse. All the sales reps come right up to her and get her anything she needs. She ends up buying a pair of black patent leather pointed kitten heels and a cream cashmere collared sweater. When she was checking out the cashier nervously says "you smell so good!". She loves a slick back bun, a trench coat, business professional attire, Chardonnay, and cats. This perfume smells expensive, young, invigorating, but not overpowering. Classy but not old fashioned or stuck up. It's like a zingy gingery musky vanilla

I sampled It Factor on paper twice last October, and it was an intense cardamom incense bomb that was far too spicy and masculine-leaning for my personal tastes. Well, I tried it on my skin today, and ended up purchasing a travel size. Go figure! Either there are significant inconsistencies among batches, or the spice, incense and sandalwood aren't half as pronounced on skin as they are on paper. I agree with others who feel the dry down leans on the generic side, but it's still a lovely, sweet and lightly spiced unisex vanilla. Well worth the $14 I paid for a small bottle. :)

I like it a lot. Maybe my nose is broken but I smell an undertone of something akin to cherry? I can’t be the only one right? Anyway smooth sugary sweetness makes this a versatile layer that you can take into many directions. I layered this with Banana Republic Dark Cherry and Amber (No that’s not why I thought I smelled cherry, I wore it on its own first). I spray the tops of my shoulders (clothes) after my neck and arms and it lasted all day at work. Inoffensive (if you’re an undersprayer which I’m not but it’s smooth anyway) and easy to wear.

Too smoky too be gourmand, too sweet to be oriental. You’d get close to this if you layered Ledda Orris 22 with Hermès Ombre des Merveilles. Cozy-sexy. I think this is very unisex, I like it on me and I’d like to smell it on my husband. This is my first wear so I can’t speak about the longevity, but in terms of sillage I sprayed about 4 times and I can smell myself but it’s very gentle.

I have to agree with @11maura11. I've tried sampling this twice, and it's an intense cardamom incense bomb. Ultimately, too spicy and masculine-leaning for my personal wearing preferences. I wouldn't mind smelling it on someone else though! :)

At first, this perfume has a very strong ginger scent, but after a while it morphs into a nice warm spicy vanilla that is quite nice. Not my everyday vibe with the ginger but I have it in my collection for layering!

Every time I think about decluttering this, it reels me back in. I keep thinking, "Emma, do we really need this?" and then I smell it out of the bottle and I'm like, "No, we do not", but then I put it on skin and I think "Well, wait a minute...". The smell out of the bottle is lowkey pickle juice. I never understood the "sandalwood smells like pickle juice", until this scent. It's off-putting...but then it disappears. This fragrance will gaslight you. You'll think "ew, pickles" and then a few minutes later be like, "Am I crazy? I just smelled pickles." The other way it will gaslight you is through the projection. At first, it's almost too strong. You kind of think "ah, shit, I sprayed too much", but then after a short while it becomes soft, close to the skin. You'll still absolutely get whiffs, but it's not affronting. It stays on your skin, but doesn't yell like the opening. Overall, it is entirely unique and I've never smelled anything like it. It definitely dries down sweeter than you expect, but not sweet like a gourmand. The incense/wood combo makes it read dry and warm, with the slightest little bit of vanilla makes it a touch sweet, and the ginger makes it bright. It does not get creamy or super gourmand. I have no idea what to do with it. I love her. I hate her. I hate to love her. I love to hate her. For now, this will remain in my collection until the next time I need to gaslight myself.

Great as a room fragrance The bottle arrived broken in its shipping box. Half the contents had spilled out of the bottle onto the cardboard. I felt so bad for the delivery driver, it must have fumigated his truck! This stuff is strong. At this megadose on saturated cardboard the first things I got were mint and sage. Both are not listed notes. Curious. But maybe it was undertones of cardamom amplified or interacting with the cardboard? The glass was not broken, something in the atomizer was damaged. So I cleaned it up and put it on a little tray. It doesn't leak when upright undisturbed and evaporates quickly enough through the damage to have morphed into a room diffuser and its really nice. Dry, fresh, clean without being overbearingly smokey. The violet was what made me give it a try and does not disappoint, giving a soft powdery counterpoint the the warm spice of the cardamom. I don't get any brown sugar. None. Not even at oversaturated levels. The musk warms it slightly but is not loud enough to push towards animalic. Not liking it on my skin nearly as much as in the air. But I usually lean towards florals. It's interesting and a nice change if you want a break from your usual.

I like this one, but it’s not very memorable. It’s a sweet vanilla with tonka, spice, and woody notes that's pleasant, but a bit generic smelling. It's not the creamy, decadent scent I was expecting. The opening is fairly strong, but it settles quickly into a soft scent bubble. Longevity is weak, it fades into a skin scent rather quickly and disappears before long. Overall, it’s nice but nothing special, and definitely not something I’d pay over $30 for. Quality also seems inconsistent. The difference between bottles can be dramatic. One smells spicy and masculine, while another comes across creamy and more feminine. 6/10 Sillage 6/10 Longevity 4/10

I definitely get play-doh from this one, and the floral notes really stick to clothing. I think I like it, or maybe I just want to like it... I don’t find myself reaching for it often. There’s something missing, maybe a creamy warmth? I’m going to try layering with amber oil, JHAG NAP, or Cashmere Skin.

The only note I get is cardamom -- which, in this perfume, has a strong tabacco characteristic. The dry down phase never happens. All I get cardamom that thinks it's tobacco, and it will not stop screaming about it.

I really wanted to love this, but I feel like I’ve been completely had by product placement and paid collabs from my favourite perfume influencers. After months of artificial scarcity I raced to checkout the second it finally dropped online (just in time for Christmas delivery – what a coincidence, Dossier). I was expecting a creamy, magnetic, intoxicating, addictive cloud, the way it’s been praised everywhere. Instead, this isn’t just “masculine-leaning” – it’s a full-on jockstrap. On me it smells exactly like my dad in the 90s: generic men’s Davidoff cologne, and a hint of “new car” (specifically brand-new seat belt straps). It’s aggressive, loud, and gives me a whopper of a headache which is my usual sign for low-quality or very synthetic ingredients. The opening of ginger and cardamom doesn’t just slap you in the face, it kicks your teeth in. After about 30 minutes on skin it does calm down and become pleasant but pleasant in a “random guy walks past me and I think, ‘oh, that’s fine’” way, not in a “knock me off my feet and enslave my senses” way. And honestly, the longer I imagine that guy talking to me while I’m stuck in his scent bubble, the more certain I am I’d quietly edge away and make sure I’m never trapped in it again. Such a shame. This had all the marketing of an addiction in a bottle. To my nose it’s just an expensive headache in a Lynx-soaked jockstrap.

Sadly nauseating for me. The ginger and incense are too strong. It’s smoky, pungent, zesty, spicy, earthy, yet sweet and powdery. The incense, ginger, and cardamom overpowers the brown sugar, vanilla, tonka, and sandalwood notes in the perfume

It's super strong. It's a scent that i truly can't deicde if I like or hate it. It may be the sandalwood or incense note, I've found I'm starting to dislike sandalwood in everything lately. I had higher expectations

I get none of the brown sugar, vanilla or tonka from this on my skin. Just straight up incense with a little bit of cardamom at the opening. Not for me sadly, I really wanted to love it from the notes.
