Camomille Satin

Honestly (And I don't say this lightly), this very well might be one of my favourite Vanilla's I've ever experienced in a fragrance to date, surprisingly a little complex, and it has one of the best wearing experiences I've had with a fragrance as of recent. On my skin it opens up with a blast of Chamomile, a honey-like nuance that vaguely reminds me of Naxos's honey but much softer, airy and syrupy in this, and soft but understated Lavender, along with some other florals I can't pinpoint, and this is where most people probably will quit on this fragrance since a large number of people sadly quit after the opening if it isn't to their liking which is understandable to an extent. However, after the Lavender starts to go into the back, and the Vanilla comes out with its accomplices of Orange Blossoms and some musks, that's where the scent truly shines. Once it settles down you get this beautiful, creamy and RICH vanilla, Imagine the Vanilla from Nishane Ani or Ani X, isolate it, and then put it in this fragrance, that's what the Vanilla is like in this on my skin, only it sits a little closer to the skin, whereas Ani's vanilla is much more potent, and it's so goddamn addicting and indulgent, ontop of that, the chamomile from the opening and namesake seamlessly merges with the Vanilla to give it a slightly herbal nuance and adds even more decadent richness and denseness, Which is further amplified by the honey nuance i got on my skin that unifies with the chamomile to become borderline intoxicating. And it also weirdly enough gives this fragrance a very calming and therapeutic feeling when I get wafts of it, very much like drinking a nice cup of Chamomile tea, albeit with a dash of honey and Vanilla beans next to the cup, which caught me quite off guard. The Lavender from the opening is still very much here too, and adds a subtle but noticeable softness without being in your face or overdone like many modern fragrances seem to do, and this is further cemented by the nice orange blossom that adds further softeners and a slight airiness to its composition, and finally its all wrapped up in nice muted musks that add texture to the dense and rich Vanilla more than anything on my skin, but its a nuance that greatly enhances the experience nonetheless. In terms of longevity i get an impressive 8-9 hours, and im still smelling remnants of the Vanilla and Chamomile 12-13 hours later, its also medium projecting for around 4-5 or so hours and then tapers down to a more intimate scent, but one thing is that this fragrances density also extends to its scent bubble, my skin absorbs and projects dense fragrances very well and this is no different, as this fragrance gives an absolutely beautiful scent trail and a bubble big enough to grab the attention of a passer-by or person within arms reach without oppressing them or filling a room. Perfect for any day casual or formal outside of hot days but evenings are doable, its a little too decadent for humidity or heat in general in my opinion, leans Perfectly unisex as well, I cant see any aspects of this leaning either way, might be a case like Ani, where its perfectly unisex, but women seem to like smelling it more than men do (if that makes sense?🗿) In conclusion, this is one of the best fragrance discoveries I've made all year as I onky discovered it a few days ago and upon testing it I was pleasantly surprised to the highest degree, and like Soie Malaquais, im definitely going to get a full bottle down the line (even if the price is sadly quite steep in my country), but it's worth it in my opinion, spend more less often to get more out of what you love, rather than spending less more often, to satisfy a short term like or fascination🫡 Beautifully made, indulgently addictive, creative, unique, and timeless, having to choose between this or Soie Malaquais is a crime 😂, but I think they're both at the pinnacle in their own ways, suberb work by Rasquinet and Paul Guerlain, needs more traction but at the same time I want this beauty gatekept! 10/10

I want to say some words more about this beautiful perfume before I will buy a full bottle of it. I just finished my sample. I have worn this something like 12-15 times for now. First of all this scent is harmonious in a calming way. Aromatic Lavender, which is a difficult note for me, is pleasant and suitably soft and delicate and the other difficult note, herbal chamomile, is also gentle, refined, and not at all aggressive and dominating, which it can be in many fragrances. A few fragrances where I like lavender are Alexandria III | Xerjoff , Après L'Ondée | Guerlain, Libre | Yves Saint Laurent and a few where I like Chamomile are Soleil de Jeddah | Stéphane Humbert Lucas, Soleil de Jeddah Afterglow | Stéphane Humbert Lucas and Risqué / Creation-R (Parfum) | Roja Parfums. I don't like lavender for example in the opening of Musc Ravageur | Frédéric Malle and I don't like Chamomile in Soleil de Jeddah Mango Kiss | Stéphane Humbert Lucas. Both Lavender and Chamomile get their satiny softness from Vanilla, which is clearly the main character of this scent. Camomille Satin is definitely an herbal vanilla scent. Petigrain is conveniently hidden, as I find it easily makes the scent sharp by introducing an uncomfortable green citrus aroma. Orange Blossom is also very mild and Rose is more of a support for the structure and tying the notes together than giving the scent of petals. Musk finishes the scent off as sensual and elegant, but comforting, relaxing and cozy. It's special that this fragrance has many notes, which can be sharp, challenging, or bitter, but all have been successfully finished to be silky soft and gentle, including Galbanum. It's slightly creamy with a powdery finish, but not too thick and not heavy at all. That's why it's suitable also for summertime, especially for summer evenings. I think the scent is unisex. The scent is simple, there's nothing shockingly special about it, but it still has a unique feel to it. The scent is more suitable for home and leisure, as it doesn't provide energy for work, for example. On the other hand, it has a clearly calming effect, which I would imagine would be suitable for a psychiatrist's work. The scent is quite intimate, although long-lasting, and therefore suitable for that kind of work environment. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. This is just gorgeous, inside and out. An ultra feminine, silky floral with gourmand overtones. The chamomile is prominent from the opening notes, weaving its syrupy aroma with a tinge of herbaceous bitterness throughout the sillage. The syrupy texture is honeyed and clear, reminding me of the unctuous opening in Tilia, made soothing by the hint of smooth, aromatic lavender. It’s definitely sweet, but in a refined, non-confectionery way. I’m also getting a spattering of soft floral spice that gives the scent an edge without overpowering the senses. The whole composition is strikingly harmonious, truly resembling a swath of cool satin sliding against skin. Now, I’ve worn this scent during LA heatwave, and it came through as refreshing and cooling, the chamomile alternating between its honeyed, herbaceous and powdery facets. The honey aspect is beautiful and clean and smells like a summer meadow in bloom—natural and intoxicating all at the same time. As it dries down, I get sweet, liqueur rose and powdery orange blossom, blended so seamlessly, the accord registers not as distinct florals but simply as something nectarous and alluring. There’s a slight carnal tinge to the orange blossom and that makes the scent both sensual and seductive. Passers by seem to agree as I’m getting loads of compliments every time I wear this out. In the short time, Chamomile Satin has completely stolen my heart and I feel it’ll become a cult favorite with the Tilia and Secret Du Nil—loving crowd. I smell a lot of perfumes via regular trips to London to sniff what's new, as well as buying samples frequently. So it's not often now I smell something I would call unique. But here it is! I went on a perfume sniffing trip earlier this week and this one and Vanille Camouflage were at the top of my list to try. On first impression, the blast of herbal notes are unusual. Initially I wasn't sure if I liked them, but they mellow very quickly, and after spritzing on skin, 15 minutes in I was left with what I can only call a vanillic floral honeyed sweetness - it smelt like warm autumn days, giving me images of golden hour in a field that is aged by the sun with the grass all dried out, surrounded by hay bales. The dry down is really delicious, not overtly gourmand but definitely hinting at that. I find this to be the Soie Malaquais of this recent release - both manage to be almost mass appealing, yet different from any other releases, and also blended so that most of the notes are hard for me to really pick out or identify - they just become their own fully imagined composition. I went back and bought a bottle, and on my first full wearing today I am in heaven. I am 6.5 hours in and am still getting gorgeous wafts of that almost brown sugar vanilla vibe, but with a cereal(perhaps oat?)-tinged freshness and airiness that means it isn't overbearing. I am in love! Perfect for the cool crisp sunny weather today.

I fell in love with this fragrance three times. First, when I saw the bottle. Second, when I sprayed on a paper strip. Third, when I sprayed on skin. This is such a great fragrance. The opening is awesome with a very noticeable camomille note, the fragrance has a herbal floral side which lasts quite a bit before letting the vanilla completely shine. The vanilla here is super high quality. It's creamy, very comforting. The fragrance overall is like a cloud of comfort. It's very unique but not shockingly surprising or anything. It's unique enough to definitely be niche, but not unique enough to be super daring or polarizing. It's just an overall super well made fragrance and the bottle is just stunning. Performance is very good. On my skin it lasts forever, the projection isn't big at all but the scent bubble is more than enough for you to enjoy it. On my skin this is pretty heavy, I wore it today in a spring like temperature and it was too much, I could only wear that in colder months. Price is worth it honestly for what you get. This is 100% unisex, I'm struggling to understand why so many people vote for it being feminine. Either it's because mostly women try these perfumes or because of skin chemistry ? Anyway there's NOTHING feminine about this, if you're a guy and you're hesitant on trying it, just go ahead and try it.
