Cowgirl Grass

Honestly, this feels pretty unique – at least to my nose. It is floral, fresh, green, everything you would want from a spring summer aromatic? I feel like this is way greener floral than aromatic. It is sweet, but grown up. Playful, but serious. Yes, it could lean into a 90’s aquatic floral, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. DS & Durga have elevated that 90’s staple into a modern sweet freshie. On my skin it is pretty light, and the lychee, peony and grass accords plays lightly, creating a sweet and soft bubble around me. Other reviewers have commented on a heavy vetiver note, but unfortunately, I don’t get that as strongly as I hoped. I love vetiver, but I feel like the actual fresh grass, and mellow musk in combination with all those florals are washing down the vetiver. In this fragrance though, it is perfectly fine. It suits its florals and dewy grass, but I understand how the vetiver would give more associations to the male counterpart ‘Cowboy grass’, that one is really heavy on the vetiver. The drydown gives way to more of the same, though, the florals get greener and the musk gets slightly soapier. Never too soapy, it keeps its fresh sparkles! The longevity is unfortunately a bit shorter than I would want, but it doesn’t really matter because I am sold on this one. 5-6 hours of a unique, modern, aquatic floral is more than enough for me.

This one haunted me for months and eventually I pulled the trigger on a bottle, and I have no regrets! On one hand, it’s peony and lychee. On the other hand, it’s my favorite version of peony and lychee. Super tart but still has some depth. I love how dry and grassy the base is, really does remind me of being in a dry desert grassland. The mix of these notes almost reads hibiscus tea to me, tart, pink, grassy. Shares a similar base with Cowboy Grass of course but the addition of amber rounds it out a bit. There are definitely cheaper alternatives to this style of fragrance, but for an earthier, more outdoorsy girl who loves very feminine peony/lychee this is a stunner and a great everyday scent.

I hate grass but I love a lychee + rose combo so I tried this anyway and I'm very glad I did. for me, it all blends into a very interesting almost powdery scent? with some spicy-grass at the base (if you've tried sweet leaf by room 1015 it's a bit similar, maybe it's jasmine since they both share that?). I'm shocked at how much I like this. also, very strong projection that gets sweeter the further away you take your arm, it's almost reminds me of the scent of smarties??? not getting Delina vibes from it at all despite the overlapping notes. 9.5/10

So unique and so wearable! I bought a full bottle and wear it regularly. It starts with as a beautiful light fruity floral, with lychee and peony, and moves to a base of sage - its more of a dried sage, sage grass maybe. There is a hint of smokey-ness but it's not astringent...maybe an extinguished smudging stick. It's not a literal interpretation of a cowgirl. It's a awesome photo or cool screen print of a cowgirl - a stylized version of what we want to think being a cowgirl feels like, freedom, joy, excitement, and open spaces.

Immediate love. I just really enjoy geranium scents. I get that, grass, and vetiver at the start, which combine into a sort of dusty soft floral. I can see why people call this “powdery,” but I think “dusty” would be more appropriate for describing the dry earthiness of this scent. The lychee doesn’t start to emerge for me until later, and it’s neither too sweet nor tart. In fact, everything in the fragrance is well-balanced, with nothing being overwhelming.

it’s very pretty, the hay/grass notes coming through are dry, not juicy or freshly cut, and it smells good with the jasmine and peony. I’m a fan of Cowboy Grass, and, while they don’t share DNA, they have the vibe of two kids who are constantly together growing up because their moms are best friends - that’s pretty nice. :)

Instantly fell in love with her and need a bottle immediately. I smelled every scent in the store and this one stood out above them all. The peony notes with the citrus and woody notes are so perfectly balanced. I really hope they keep this around forever because I'm obsessed and I want it as my new signature scent!

Tart peony, lychee & rosehip tea with an underlay of dry grass, hay, and windy plains. Not at all sweet. Instead natural and strangely peaceful. It’s a spacious fragrance, and captures that feeling of re-engaging with nature after too many days spent semi-dissociated in the city grind. Love this one.

mmmmm I like this! I've been wanting something with rose but have found all the other perfumes I've sniffed to be boring for too feminine for me. This gives the same level of "dirtiness" as Rose 31. It's like someone sprayed on delina and then rolled around in some dusty hay in the best possible way.

Such a fun scent! And a great twist on a floral. Absolutely lives up to the name, its like nothing i’ve smelt before! Absolutely worth a try.

that’s some good ass grass. i will go on record as a ds&d HATER, i have practically despised their whole portfolio, fought my friends and loved ones fiercely to attack it. I have never even bothered reviewing them. this is the honourable soldier, a man among boys or more accurately a cowgirl among the girls! the lychee is the strongest for me, sweet, fruity and feminine, with a gorgeous freshly cut grass and dewy rose smell. the bergamot and musk create a great freshness too. powerdery in a slightly vintage make up way, a scent for any woman that can’t choose between shorts and skirts sadly it’s not a love because the projection and longevity is rubbish.

Cowgirl, played by let's say Jean Harlow, just fresh from dressing room, all powdered up with a giant fluffy puff, with pout lips and shiny peroxide locks, prairie landscape painted on a backdrop. Or maybe even Betty Boop. This perfume smells absurdly powdery. I was so happy I didn't blind buy it, right till the moment my husband said that he liked it on me a lot. Now I'll have to at least consider it, I guess?..

Reviewed from sample! The first spray of this was fresh, floral, grassy and light. After a few seconds you get some of the fruit (lychee). I love the middle notes where the peony comes through a little more but on dry down it just smells powdery. Not my favorite scent but it’s pleasant. I think it has moderate sillage and weak longevity.

Yes it's pretty. Not a perfect compliment to Cowboy Grass, in an attempt to make it more feminine it became more Perfumey and less naturey but it's not the end of the world. Feel like the scent really developed on my skin and I liked the opening best but it was all fine, just wouldn't be a full bottle for me.

I tend to like airier fruity florals, but this one is so yummy. I’m a bigger lover of jasmine and I love the jasmine in this. I think this might be a little heavy for hot summer days, but besides that I’d wear anytime.

I was really excited to smell this re-release, having never smelled the original version. I should have known by the listed notes of this newer composition that it was something completely different. This is an ozonic-floral, which is reminiscent of the early 90s era (Kenzo) of perfumery. It's not bad, but I was expecting a cousin to Cowboy Grass - a lovely vetiver which reads as fresh cut grass; one of the most unique perfumes I have ever smelled. Ultimately, this is fine. I just wish they had gone with a different name.

I’m getting too much vetiver and too much geranium. It’s not quite what I expected. It seems to turn into a basic iso e super type thing on me after an hour or so. Gutted because I had high hopes of smelling like a sexy cowgirl in the desert.

Sharp aromatic grassy rose. I love the name and wanted to like this, I like the sharpness of the opening but these clean garden peony/rose scents just don't work for me.

Too heavy on the cashmeran or... something.

This is so beautiful! I really liked it upon first sniff but I've found that it keeps getting better & better. It's not really like anything else I have tried. I definitely do pick up on some Delina resemblance with the peony & the lychee. I happen to love geranium and that really comes through beautifully with the grass and the base notes giving this some warmth and earthiness. I love notes like hay & grass and this is just the perfect combination of floral/earthy & has just the right amount of brightness to keep it from being boring. I find myself reaching for this often. I think of the color pink when I wear this and cowgirl grass is the perfect name for it.

Got this is as a (blind buy) gift from my best friends for my bday! Its an easier offering from the house and if you like Delina La Rosee, you might like this too. Think Delina’s hippie older cousin- a much earthier/woody take that still has some lychee tang and floral nuance (nothing aquatic about this one though)! Definitely worth sampling if you like a unique spins on popular scent profiles. EDIT - I’ve been layering this with Dedcool’s Mochi Milk for some added sweetness and its *chefs kiss* for New England spring.

It opens with fresh dirt, drags you through some green grass, and finishes with an aquatic peony. If you squint, you can detect a little sweetness. I don't love it but I don't hate it either. 7/10 for sure unique bute its just fine

Fruity and floral, very peony forward. Quite lovely and unique. A nice niche alternative to perfumes like Delina.

I wish I smelled the grass but to my nose it’s just a soft & pretty Delina like scent.

This smelled awful on me. Like chemically treated hair at a salon.
