Magnolia City

Very unique and interesting floral musk designed a an ode to the magnolia flower blooming in Spring in New York City. The perfume opens briefly with aromatic notes of moss flox, galbanum and lemon before getting to the main magnolia heart (the perfume uses two types of this flower for an interesting otherworldly effect) . As the perfume starts drying off one can first detect faint notes of narcissus and orchid and then a soft cherry wood and musk. The slight feminine leaning scent has moderate sillage and longevity. If you love the magnolia flower, this is pretty close to drowning yourself in its beauty. Enjoy!

I was looking for something to wear during the warmer months and so I went for this. I really like it, but it's much more floral than anything else. I am surprised that citrus is rated as a major component, but maybe my nose is off. Personally, I find that this lasts much longer on me than other DS&Durga scents - I put it on in the early afternoon and I often wake up the following morning with a whiff of it still lingering.

It didn't last on me at all. I like the bitter green quality of the galbanum opening, but as the reviewer below me pointed out there was no lasting power, no projection and barely there development. I wish they had anchored it with something with a little more body so it stuck to you and projected a bit more. This feels more like a floral extract bottled, not a perfume. Update: maybe the bottle needed time to settle. Its projecting a little more now and lasting longer

This was a blind buy as I love the brand, I grew up with a magnolia tree in my backyard and I miss New York. Just sprayed and first impression is very green/aromatic/resinous with a hint of powder from the florals--so it's not reading as a floral/magnolia fragrance to me. That said I do like it--but I do have doubts about sillage/longevity.
