Wear at Maximum Volume

I received this as part of the Liberty fragrance lounge edit and, totally based on the note profile, I assumed it would be a complete miss for me - Everything from the overheavy patchouli, through earth and rose? Tradionally 'hard pass' territory, so I wouldn't have even picked up a sample. So.. to my complete and utter confusion and well, somewhat mystified joy... I found that not only was it OK, it is a full-on LOVE with my skin chemistry!! This is a beautifully sweet, fruity floral, but with a rounded earthy depth to it. I don't even get the patchouli in the standard 'facial assault' way it usually hits me, it is blended so well that even dried down I cannot pick it out distinctly. The full fragrance cycle of this one is a joy on me, and I'm still wrist sniffing and smiling MANY hours later. The reviews are a mixed bag, so this is evidently skin chemistry dependent, but I 100% recommend a sample if you can - on me it us absolutely stunning!

It's giving Coco Mademoiselle but very genderfluid! Gorgeous, a very juicy and kind of flirty and unexpected piece from DS&Durga. I really was surprised at how wearable and delightful this was; for context, I had just recieved Spectral Doorway days prior and was deeply disappointed. Maximum Volume opens with a tart pop of orange zest and spicy florals, and the drydown has a very cool, old-book-ish patchouli comfort. I imagine someone wearing this while thrifting, specifically for clothes from the 90s, wearing a whimsical outfit. I love when DSD plays with accessibility, this one is sparkling and fun! If you're a person who enjoys the concept of Miss Dior but has outgrown that scent, this could be a fabulous reason to revisit!

Smells the way an orange gummy tastes

I'm the 1st one to write about my opinion, but I'm not the one who gave a one star rating. This is not a bad-smelling perfume, but honestly, it's just so boring and forgettable. It smells like a "creamy orange" with a hint of a fresh rose, and something subtle and green, which now I see is Oakmoss. For me, it has a designer perfume vibe. I was given a sample while at Liberty, and it's still 3/4 left, which says something. Again, it's not bad or challenging; it's very easy to wear, or should I say, it's too easy to wear. Spring and summer. Lasts OK, but projection is very low.

You have to spray at max volume because it isn’t that strong. Goes on a kind of thin tobacco wood with hints of floral hair spray and choppy green moss, drying to peppery wood with floral hairspray and a touch of salty seaweed. This is a weird one, but low-grade weird. Not offensive, brash, aggressive, spiky, or cloying...nothing bad here, just weird. Clearly works better on some than others. Sample this before buying!
