Albino (A Study in White)

199 Honestly, this is a perfect zesty not too bitter grapefruit. So refreshing! I don’t get any other notes standing out. Also, I don’t get that grapefruit indole empty stomach halitosis smell, like some grapefruit scents become at dry-down. I only wish it was stronger and longer lasting... 9/10-for real grapefruit, here it is!

Albino is a unique scent - one that seemed to me a good spring, maybe summer fragrance. I get a fairly linear, slightly two-stage process. Up front, there’s a dry, woodiness between the guaiac wood and vetiver. The rhubarb counter this with a bitter note, and the grapefruit is also noticeable here as well. This remains overly linear for several hours until a more raw or natural musk – perhaps the ambrette, musk and cognac, though I can’t say for sure. But it’s unique enough I’d look into purchasing a bottle sometime in the future. Someone below said it’s likely better suited to men, and I’d have to agree.

I agree with Q80 about the notes, it's mostly rhubarb and grapefruit/citrus to start with, and then you start catching some sandalwood and musk. But unlike Q80, I really enjoy it. Yes this is done a lot, but here it's done very well. It's clean, clear and simple, gives a wonderful sea-side vibe, I feel like I'm stuck between a breezy salty sea and a fruity market. It's really beautiful, really appropriate for summer, very dreamy. I think it's classy but unassuming, and develops soft and lovely.... really nice. 7.5/10

Grapefruit pith with basil. Fresh, sharp and realistic. I really liked it to start but around an hour on, it developed an oniony facet.

Sharp grapefruit opening with a blend of citrus and rhubarb and a hint of basil. There is something happening with the citrus (maybe the ambrette or tonka) that makes me think of sweet tarts. As it settles the woods come out, a crisp raw oak scent. The longevity wan't great, but it isn't bad for such a top-heavy scent. This scent will probably be more popular with men than women. It has a lot of traditional cologne notes but it stops short of having the classic cologne note in my opinion. It could be a perfect scent for those days where you're feeling a little under the weather or need some extra morning zest.

Bitter rhubarb & basil vetiver. It starts sour with grapefruit and hints of rhubarb, then goes basilnwith vetiver and woody with citrus cocktail, musk, & sandalwood. It reminds me of those commercial "masculine for him" labelled fragrances! I didn't like it.... overly typical.

Rhubarb and citrus for most of the way through... Bits of vanillic tonka in the background too, but for the most part it reminded me of Aedes (forget the full name), and I wasn't a big fan that either... Quite spritely, uplifting and buoyant, definitely worth a try...
