Figue Interdite

This reminds me of the feeling of the one time I was eating caviar for the first time with champagne in an evening dress in St. Petersburg, Russia, after attending the ballet. It's exquisite with decadence, layered facets, and cultural savoir faire. All the same, not something I'd want to wear on a regular basis. Fig's personality in perfume can get overbearing for me quite quickly. Well done artistry here, for sure.

I have now tried a few fig scents by Dawn and I'm afraid this one is the least interesting. I appreciate that it's an all-botanical, but it's really quite green and not a whole lot else. It's a touch bitter, though not unpleasantly so, and the background smells woody in an expensive sort of way. I do find this masculine leaning. Given the composition, I wouldn't approach expecting major performance, but it's pretty decent, as are all from the natural forbidden fruit collection. Personally I prefer Balls Said the Queen for a salty green fig for summer and Golden Leaf for a creamier, more feminine one.

I thought I would like this much more than I do. The dry down is nice, it sort of mixes with your own scent to become musky. High marks for being a “clean scent” with some longevity and sillage. I'll have to wear this once more before I make a final decision.
