Oeillets Rouges (Red Carnations)

It's so lovely! Fresh beautiful carnation, beeswax, vanilla and a gorgeous spicy incense. Delicious. I think it's delightful. Very lovely and strong, yet also light and playful. Feminine and rejoicing in it's spirit. I feel very calm and happy in it, and it lasts so well and I get so many compliments. Everyone else loves it on me. I get many an admiring glance and sniff! My husband thinks it's really lovely. I love it.

This is the perfect daytime perfume for cold weather: hot and spicy and lively enough to shake me out of the cold doldrums, but also fresh–-it boosts my mood and my energy. It reminds me of Dawn’s Euphorisme d’Opium, which I adore, but scales down the femme fatale quality a little bit and thus is perhaps a bit more wearable in daytime. I’m glad I have it for this cold, cold winter!

Spicy, honeyed carnation with a dash of nutmeg. A lovely cool weather perfume for those who enjoy floral orientals. It has a bright, strong opening where the carnation, honey and nutmeg are clearly identifiable. As it settles, those notes meld together and I can detect a hint of vanilla. Good longevity and sillage.

i love a carnation perfume. this one is so pretty- i get a soft carnation with a fair amount of beeswax, some vanilla and amber. i love this one but it's very close to the skin, just wish it was a bit more powerful. it's gorgeous.

A warm, sweet and comforting carnation fragrance, heavy on the baking spices, like a piece of apple pie on a wintery day.

Carnation soliflore. Very well done but not my favorite flower scent. Gentle sillage and 6 hours longevity.

I had this as a decant in a note sampler set. Initially this is seriously overpowering, very harsh, bitter and very spicy. It settles down to a more rounded and smooth carnation spice which is more pleasant but still heavy and overbearing. I don't get any sweetness or honey from this, nor beeswax, unless that is what gives some of the roundness. This isn't at all floral or feminine, its has a masculine tone to me like a peppery aftershave. I would love nuzzling up to a man who smelled of this, but on me it just doesn't work.

Sweet mangoes! I keep on sniffing fresh mangoes! Like a green orange mix mangoes. Mildly sweet and very interesting for a carnations based fragrance! The honey is mildly presented. The nutmeg, and Amber are there. The colder the more peppery & more spicy it become. Remains interesting as it changes dramatically to spicy peppery carnations with hints of honey.. I keep on sniffing something similar to " Vitriol d’œillet" by Serge Lutens with that floral washed by pepper and dry spices.

It is spicy, it is interesting, it is sophisticated, it lasts a long time... I just don't love carnations. Even when they are well done, this is not the smell I like. Dawn smelled beeswax on me during the middle stage, but to me beeswax was shut out by the carnations. Oh well, it's good to know that sometimes even if a note works ON you it still may not work FOR you because you're just not fond of it.

OOO! This is so lovely. Spicy carnations. I never really get any of the base notes, but that is really fine with me. I love the carnation and the spice. I spray on my wrists also. (Something I do not usually do.) So I do not have to stick my head in my shirt all the time. This is very close to Roger and Gallet Blue Carnation. This is more modern and there is more nuances with this.
