Sienna

To begin with, I smell cinnamon, a tiny bit of coriander or cumin, and something soapy, but mostly cinnamon. It’s cinnamon all the way, with only the tiniest hint of an ambery-woody base. I do not smell any of the civet or leather notes that are supposed to be present in the base. This is a mild skin scent that lasted only an hour or so and then disappeared, so that alone would prevent it's becoming a favorite.

I already had two DSH cinnamon fragrances: the fan favorite Cimabue, and my personal favorite Megaleion. So when Sienna went on sale I went for it. It’s pleasant and mild but not memorable. Creamy and heavy on the honey. I prefer the dry, dusty Megaleion.

This one was strange in the opening. One of the spices, or maybe the lot of them made it seem almost minty, it was so aromatic. Maybe the clove? Anyway, I did not like this at all. Upon settling, it turned in to a very nice, spicy oriental. It was quite enjoyable and if it had any longevity at all, it would be worth pursuing but why suffer through that opening for so little return? It was completely gone in less than two hours. I wish DSH would get rid of all the subpar fragrances in their catalog and focus on the many good ones. As it is I get so overwhelmed by choice when I visit her website I've never once placed an order, relying instead on swap buddies to keep me suppled.
