Vers la Violette

Given its name, I can't help but wonder if this is a spin on L'Artisan's Verte Violette, which is one of the first niche perfumes that I owned. However, Hurwitz's fragrance is woodier and ultimately more sophisticated. To me, it is like walking in the woods and stumbling upon a patch of violets. This is an edp that can't be smelled by pressing my nose against my wrist (okay, I know...). It radiates around me with the scent of a cool summer day.

at first this is cool green woody violet on me, and then out comes the civet and labdanum almost immediately. it's very animalic, too much for me. i get a bit of a headache from it actually. the civet tends to almost drown out the violets on me, though i can smell them behind it. i also get some oakmoss, galbanum and sandalwood, but can't pick out much else. it's very civet-y on me. i can see why this is unisex, i think it might work better on a man, or someone who can tolerate civet better than i ;)

The first sniff = fresh lemon essence glue. Then i start to smell violets, oakmoss, some slightly sour leather, & limes. I do smell orris but in a haze as it comes and goes back & forth and never stable (that's within 4 minutes of applying). After few minutes, the glue stars to vanish and the violets, lime, leather, & galbanum (not sure) remains as i don't sense any civit at all here! The glue stamps remains a bit still somehow with that citrus essence that accompanies it all the time. It's an interesting one to be honest & requires more testing.
