Green Wood

I was compelled to purchase this after my personal trainer recommended it to me. On him it smells like something from Tom Ford or Dior's Les Exclusifs range and it permeates the entire gym. I sourced it from an online retailer for a ridiculously cheap price and I'm not disappointed - this fragrance delivers on quality, sillage, projection and longevity. I get a solid 10 hours and it radiates outwards like an 80's powerhouse. This reminds me of Lalique's Encore Noire only less screechy - I find that fragrance to be synthetic and linear, whereas DSquared Green Wood is more complex and rounded, softer and punchier. It starts off with a sparkling lemon blast not dissimilar to Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza but this stage is fleeting as it fades to allow the vetiver and resins to take over. However, the vetiver doesn't dominate like it does in Encre Noire - it's the resins, cedar and musk that work their magic, creating a soft but powerful mid phase that lasts for hours. Sandalwood isn't listed as an ingredient here, but for me it's the overriding accord of the mid phase and dry down, where this fragrance almost morphs into original CK One territory - back when that fragrance delivered the same soft and rounded yet powerful blast of clean, green magic. This is a wolf in sheep's clothing - suitable for the gym, the office, a casual date, bedtime, or whenever you want to wear a fragrance to make you stand out in the crowd. It goes straight into my Top 10. If Comme des Garçons or Tom Ford released this it would be hailed as a radical game changer with a price tag to match. Summation: Encre Noire has a love child with original CK One. On steroids, dialled up to max. A dichotomous mix of dynamic yet comforting, cosy yet bold. 10/10.

This fragrance is quite unique in my opinion. On my skin I get more of a resin, cypriol oil dipped lemon and cedar which is not only refreshing but stands out from other lemony wood fragrances on the market. Smells very clean without emulating cleaning products. However, I would say that because it doesn't have the typical profile, this fragrance is not the safest blind buy. Thankfully, it is found in most fragrance stores such as Douglas and is almost always found in airport Duty Frees. Sometimes you can get it pretty cheap especially at airports, I got a 50 ml bottle for 20 Euros. Otherwise the price point should be around 40-50 for 50mls which is a great deal given the longevity and scent profile. I am not sure whether it is the cypriol oil or the cedar but there is something a bit sharp about the scent even in the dry down. Regardless, I find this to be lovely semi unisex (it does lean slightly toward male) fresh fragrance which plays out well in warm weather. The lasting power is pretty good at about 8 hours with about 4-6 sprays. This doesnt project too well in my experience, at arms length for about 3 hours then drawing back, but you will smell it on yourself throughout the day so you will definitely get to enjoy it. Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 5.5/10 Overall scent profile: 7.5/10

Wow , what a pleasant surprise. This is definitely most modern green woods potion that I have smelled so far. Its woody but not so raw or primal like many others, you get a pleasant mix of various fresh green woods, but the intensity is just right, it doesnt get nauseating over time, not too piney or firry, no hints of herbal influence, no intense burning spikes although there is a hint of pepperiness. The ambroxan fuses these woods and musk very well. The touch of lemon helps to process and enjoy all of this forest greenness. The dry down gets a bit darker - feels like deeper night into woods, adds more earthy and dirt like (prominent vetiver) feel to it, still very pleasant. Its a perfect modern interpretation of what a green forest in a bottle would smell. Must try if you want to add modern affordable green woody smell. P.S. It does not smell mature or older man at all, those who think that just dont dig the essence of green woods. Also I do agree that this can feel relaxing and almost therapeutic like, intensity level is hitting right in the middle of the sweet spot, maybe a slight essential oil vibes (for this in a good way).

DSQUARED2 Green Wood reminds me a lot of the Encre Noire Sport by Lalique. A parfum I liked, though I preferred the À L'Extrême version by far. Green Wood is a nice alternative. Vetiver and Lemon/Citrus is what I feel is being dominant in this one, with a background of Cedar and Ambroxan. Yes it's fresh, but a bit dry as well, maybe because of the peppery notes. I wasn't sure to blind buy it, but for a very reasonable price as this, I went for it. Since I loved the Encre Noire line, I don't regret it at all. It has decent projection and performance.

This is suprisingly amazing! about a year ago when i was new to the fragrance game, this was very common to see in drugstores. i smelt it but forgot about it shortly after. I decided to pick this up for $20 and... WOAH!! this smells like Versace Man Eau Fraiche!! one of my favourite summer colognes, exept the citrus is more prominent. a very fresh green citrus woody scent thats great for the summer or spring. also the magnetic cap was pretty cool. this is a great blind buy and even better to just research and get. very underrated.

Well i blind bought a 30ml bottle, and let me tell you I just love this shit, it gives me a calm vibe like I'm in a mysterious forest with the sun gazing through tree branches . It open up strong with a citrus/wood note, my nose isn't well trained, but I sense the lemon, the cedar and the vetiver. And it projects heavy, 3 minutes after 5 sprays, my family members started asking what's smelling so good . Performance isn't the greatest, but good enough I get about 6-7h with great power the first 3 hours before fading to a skin scent

I love it, I use it casually, the smell is just relaxingly good and comforting. I even spray it to my bed to have the feeling like I am sleeping in the middle of a wood with the cozy sweet smell, extremely therapeutic. I wear perfume for myself so this is the smell that I feel comfortable days by days, no one hates it. However, The longevity is so bad, 3 hours top. And the scent is quite weak, it is easy to be faded away when near other wood fragrances. If you want to get compliments or stood out, this is not for you. 👌

me and my wife sharing the same bottle, we do agreed this scent is unisex. it is calm and fresh yet simple. Although its a very versatile perfume, I recommend go casually, fit best with a t-shirt and short, sun glasses, imagine a summer noon driving to the local restaurant for lunch. staying power kinda ok, 6-7 hours until it completely gone, projection is just average but very strong at the first hour. if you're into simple, pleasant scent, I highly recommend this. 8/10

Dollar for dollar, this one's hard to beat. If you like a distinct rugged outdoor conifer scent, then you'll absolutely love this. This bad boy is a compliment-getter all day long. Grab you a nice shower and spray this one before work and I guarantee you'll still be smelling it when you get home. Has excellent longevity and projects nicely, but is never cloyingly sweet or overpowering. It smells...extremely pleasant, for lack of a better description.

Very affordable, found on sale for 20€ for a 50 ml. Lasts pretty long, 8-10 hours but still noticeable closer to skin a few more hours. Pretty strong on the lemon in the opening and then dry vetiver takes the lead with an ambroxan-musky dry down. I don’t really pick up any pepper in this. I was expecting more dark woody notes but I’m overall very pleased with this purchase. Awesome for an autumn day or night. It’s pretty unisex too 👍🏼

I definitely get a bit of incense in the dry-down. A bit of Cacharel pour home and Loewe 7 in it. Not so powerfull as the last one. Normally I hate ambroxan, cedar combinations (Sauvage for example) but in this one it’s more balanced, acceptable and certainly not a in-your-face, brutal scent.

Love the freshness, the sweet woodiness and it does smells like a pine forest after the rain. Great for the office as well. Hits all the right notes for me, the citrus, vetiver, amber towards the base notes, just great. A safe blind buy for most.

At first, it is just pleasant, nothing too special. But after a while the magic happens: I feel like I'm in an enchanted forest, it creates a beautiful fresh green bubble around me, making me really confident. Great creation by Dsquared.

Disappointed.. I absolutely love the scent of this - very pleasant wood with a little uplifting citrus. BUT it only lasts for 10 minutes on me! I'm very disappointed. I've had many dollar store fragrances that had far better longevity.

For me it's pure unisex fragrance, I am a woman and wear it with great pleasure. Fresh evergreens and musk fragrance. It's amazing long lasting on my skin and hair, up to 12 hours and I feel it on myself all the time. Love it!

Just got a 50ml from a sale. Wore it out at night. It sits pretty intimately on skin because it doesn't seem to project much at all and its longetivity seems pretty weak. Nice scent but not so impressed so far

A really really nice scent. Lush green notes, bunch of fresh lemon, tiny bit of pepper, all sitting on a little vetiver. Smells like a thick green jungle. Very easy to wear. Also the performance is fantastic.

One of my favorite woody scent. I love it more better than other designer woody fragrances. The winner trio for me is - Versace Oud Noir, Dsquared2 Green Wood and Lalique Encre Noir.

This is a good fragrance i got my hands on it for under 40 pounds and i am glad because this fragrance is one of the best summer fragrances ive yet to have

absolutely adore it for what it is: a refined molecule 01 - which means you can avtually smell it on yourself. cypriol, ambroxan and iso e super. love it.

Used several bottles of it. If you are young in your early 20s you should definitely try it. No hype around it but smells great.

A different take on Versace Eau Fraiche, with a slightly more emphasis on vetiver and cedar instead of Neroli.

A re-edition of the discontinued Dsquared Wild. Maybe even better. Less balsamic, more fresh...

One of my favorite cheap fragrances

The elephant in the room is that DSquared2 Green Wood is more on-brand as a flanker, than the original "Wood" (for Him). The name, the packaging, the bottle presentation, are all accurate indicators of the product. Green Wood opens with a burst of sour lemon that is contrasted by a spicy pepper note. This was likely done to make the opening seem like a burst of fresh air. This introductory set of notes quickly peel away to reveal a more earthy, coniferous tree middle-act. Unlike Wood, that sometimes comes off as soapy, Green Wood is more rich and spicy. Where the original wood was all about brightness, Green Wood focuses more on the scents of a forest, under the canopy. I would not call Green Wood a "dark" scent, like earth, mulch, or sweetness like a shady copse of trees might illicit. This scent is themed more about dependable, steady growth; the nuts and bolts of wilderness. Green Wood shies away from blossom scents, and represents more of the deep-rooted, year-round parts of a forest. It is versatile and slightly above-average in performance. I get 5-8 hours off an application, and it projects about a meter off skin. Performance with the original Wood is comparable, I just find Green Wood more accurately delivers what a consumer expects from its branding. Wood is misnamed, whereas the "Green" in Green Wood is unnecessary, if it weren't for the original. THIS should have been named Wood, and the original should have been named Sunshine, Orchard, Harvest, something like that.

I bought a 50ml bottle of this for 25 euros and thought I'd try it. The scent sits very close to my skin and lasts for maybe 6-8 hours, it doesn't offer much projection. It's a clean, safe, inoffensive pine scent with a bit of lemon mixed in. To me, the scent smells as if I walked up to a pine tree branch that has been sitting on the floor for a day or two. The pine in this isn't fresh and rich like a real pine tree but more dried out which isn't exactly a bad thing for what it is. After around 2-3 hours the pine does start to smell a little synthetic but it's not a deal breaker as it still offers that nice piney smell. Definitely a scent you can spray on when you need to go shopping or go out for a walk. For the price I paid, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. The bottle also looks nice and has a lovely wooden magnetic cap with a maple leaf engraved into it. Would I tell you to go out and buy this thing? It depends, it's not exactly worth looking for but if you do manage to come across a bottle for around 20-30 euros I think it's definitely worth a try if you're into woody/citrusy fragrances.

This is almost like an Encre Noire/Versace Eau Fraiche mashup. I wouldn't have predicted this would work, but it does surprisingly well. There does seem to be variation among bottles. (The one I tried at the store seemed heavier on the cedar than the one I later purchased.) Some have described this as boring; but I actually think it has a fair bit of character, given the slightly unusual but agreeable juxtaposition of its darker woody side and lighter fresher side. If you like Azzaro Visit (which I love), there's a good chance you will like this one as well (although they are different enough have both). I don't normally care about presentation, but it stands out as particularly good with this one. The velvet box, heavy magnetic cap, outstanding sprayer, and simple but elegant bottle design all add to the experience. This may not be a must have for everyone, but if you're a fan of cedar, and a citrusy take on very natural smelling woods sounds appealing, this may be worth having on your radar to try out.

I blind bought a small bottle of this hoping it would be an alternative to the now discontinued Lacroix Tumulte, an incense/cedar bomb which I absolutely love. This is a similar ballpark but opens with a sugary lemonade and dries down to a more mellow general woodiness, so not quite what I was looking for but very pleasant and definitely wearable. The nearest comparisons I would make are Halston Z-14 and Dunhill Desire. I then bought a 100ml bottle of the juice as a back-up and upon trying it I find it is much weaker than my original 35ml bottle. So I think there may be a bit of a lottery regarding the strength of each batch. People tend to recommend woody scents for autumn/winter but I prefer them and wear them all year 'round. This is ideal for day as opposed to night as it's linear and clean and for night I'd prefer something darker. I wish they'd make a EDP or Parfum version, but at £20 or so for 100ml you can afford to overspray.

Dsquared2 is a brand that mastered Iso E Super in its perfumes, this is no exception. The addition of vetiver, citruses and musks proves this a much better value than Escentric 01, and perhaps better value than Molecule 01, provided that you are not using Molecule 01 for layering only. The addition of vetiver recalls Encre Noire Sport and Versace eau Fraiche, but more like the Versace as vetiver is quite toned down compared to EN Sport and musks amped up. The musk x citrus aspect indeed have nuances similar to Bvlgari Pour Homme. Whoever says this is not long lasting is kidding themselves. Spray this on your friends or colleagues in the morning and see how it goes throughout the day. It will not be punchy, but it will radiate and will last as a bubble around you. With discounts it can compete with EN Sport in my opinion, at least in EU prices going down towards 40 euros / 100 ml.

It's pleasant, safe, green, woody fragrance not much to add to the description of the scent, basically usable anywhere, maybe wouldn't be the best choice for high heat but it would work on a warm day, it has decent longevity the scent cloud drastically shrinks after a hour or so but you can still catch good whiffs of it ....opening is green and woody with some citrus up top it dries down to basically smell like a fresh clean bar of soap in my opinion and I don't mean that in a bad way ....if you can snag a bottle for a good price its worth looking into if you like green fragrances, but I wouldn't go out of my way or pay full retail to get it, It would be a excellent scent to maybe gift to someone especially if they don't have tons of fragrances, in my collection it just fills the void of a dumb reach every now and then and its excellent for that as well

I completely agree with the below comment @dwt. I thought this smells packed of ISO E Super. If you've Molecule 01 you'll immediately detect it. This, I believe, is what also makes some people say this smells somehow similar to Terre d'Hermes without being Terre d'Hermes. TdH is packed with ISO E Super itself so much so that you can detect it straight out the gate in both. So the woodyness it brings is shared between the two, but it's the rest of the ingredients around it make them differ. I prefer TdH but on my skin this has better longevity for some reason. You might differ tho! Would buy if really cheap. Would use when I just to smell fresh and nice - groceries, errands, quick beer in the afternoon. Nothing mindblowing here but pleasant enough to spray as a no-brainer if you feel like it.

Talk about a difference one bottle makes from the other. Smelled this the other day in The Bay dept. store, didn't think anything of it. Today, I saw a 30ml for $19.99 so figured why not, it was still cheaper than the(worse) Wood for men(2018) I paid $40 bucks with tax for. Yeah, whomever said this is Lalique Encore Noire sport is dead on. That's fine, because I loved and ran out of that stuff...but of course, if you own the other, no need for this. Safe blind buy nonetheless as it does offer whiffs like Versace Eau Fraiche a little, and CK Free Energy and a bit like blue Kenneth Cole, so it's almost generic and mainstream.

This has been my dumb reach for over three years, it smells good, gets compliments, masculine and citrusy, has a strong "barbershop" feel, I wish it lasted longer because it doesnt seem to last more than 2 hours. However, when you spray don't let it concentrate in a small diameter on your clothes or skin, I have noticed that this way produces a strong "Curry" or BO smell, especially on skin, I've confirmed it when recieving comments from others. Edit: I just read the review below me, he's absolutely right, that's what I was talking about, I don't know if this is a problem with recent batches

This is insane value for money, I am so impressed actually, blind bought for my husband and I have to say I love it. It’s fresh, green and happy. Initial spray reminds of LIght Blue by D&G (women version) but obviously with masculine twist. My husband will spray on in the morning and 10 hrs later I can still smell it when I hug him (obviously there no projection at that point) I can smell it lingering in the room where he applied it for well over an hr. The bottle - simple but well made and nice to look at. I sometimes spray it on my son’s school uniform when I iron it

Got this for 20€ at the tax free. It’s definitely a good value for money if you can get it under 30€ and need something versatile. I could see myself throwing this on any season when I just need something to wear. It’s not very unique but neither popular so you don’t have to worry about smelling like everyone else. Definitely reminds me of some boss fragrances. At retail price there are a lot of other options that I would rather go with.

Opens with citrus and pepper, which then swiftly gave way to a pine needle like scent (thankfully for me since I'm not the biggest fan of citrus scents). It's very fresh and forest-like. Because of the freshness I think that it works as unisex fragrance, though leaning male. On my skin it didn't smell artificial, but I did find it lacking in depth, which made it boring after a while. But really fresh nonetheless and at great price point

My good old friend has worked at the Appolonia Politia, Thessaloniki, Greece, for years and years, and she proposed the scent to me (she knows my taste in perfumes). Overall, yes, this EDT is a lovely man's scent. If you spray 4-5 times for about 3 hours, it will be OK. The notes are more or less the ones described here as well. Yet, the performance is not excellent. It gives a sense of top perfume but without the performance.

Without saying anything that has already been said, I think this is an enjoyable fragrance that no doubt has character and wearability. I disagree with other reports on performance, however, as I found it to have strong projection for the first few hours, and somehow the fragrance lasted on my skin even after a hot shower. If you can find this at a good discount, it could very well be a nice pick-up.

Harsh, fresh, distinctly citrusy fragrance. The dominant notes are the bright ones of juicy lemon, aromatic santolina and lively Bourbon pepper. The heart hides a warm note of cedar, resin and vetiver. The base of the perfume which lasts longer on the skin is characterized by musk, earthy notes, cyperus and ambroxan. Commercial, democratic and very evanescent fragrance.

As I tried it, I instantly recalled a similar fragrance I used to own.. and then, it hit me!! Versace Man Eau Fraiche. The only difference for me was the dry down of Green Wood which is a bit more 'woody' than VEF, therfore, a bit more masculine. Other than that, DGW is defenitely a nice, high projection summer frag. overall: 7.5/10

Can easily blind buy. (Got 50ml 20€ on a Ryanair’s flight). Refreshing and simple citrus woody scent. Lasts so so; better overspray. Opening reminds me of Acqua di Parma Colonia club -green bottle - (but less powerful/balsamic); then over the day it changes to something similar to D&G light blue (?!). Will test more over coming days

Quite easy to wear, but still dynamic enough compared to other budget designer fragrances. Both the opening and drydown are solid. The opening has a fresh lemon and pine smell to it. The drydown has this sweet musk feel and that's where it really shines. Performance is mediocre, but still a nice quick and everyday scent.
