Nitro Blue

#815 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is not the run-of-the-mill citrus freshie I expect with every "blue." To my nose this is an EDP version of a Paco Rabanne EDT, "Black XS", a scent I experienced at the Macy's fragrance counter but didn't buy, first because Macy's prices are obscene, but mostly because it was only available in EDT concentration. (Note on the "reminds me of" entries: This has none of the vanillic quality of PDMs "Pegasus." No idea how anyone thinks they smell that here. There is definitely some commonality with Azzaro "Wanted by Night" as well as as PR "Black XS"). This is mildly sweet, not to excess, but does combine a woody-herbaceous character with invoking the candy and chocolates aisle at the grocery. But it's not a gourmand, and doesn't come off like a scent for school boys, though I would expect it to be of more interest to younger men for casual warm weather wear, not suit-and-tie business or cold weather wear. Nothing old school going on with this scent, which I would characterize as absolutely inoffensive and "playful." I am enjoying it, both for it's scent and for solid performance, and am looking forward to the arrival of the rest of the line I have on order. It's car pool, elevator and workplace safe because even if you bathe in this stuff it's not off-putting. I call it a safe blind buy, mostly something you just wear for fun.

After wearing it for a year, I am very glad I chose this fragrance over its brethren. NGL, it's been sitting at the end of my perfume drawer because I have other things to test. This fragrance is obviously inspired by Pegasus and the almondy-menthol-soapy-powdery-leathery vibe that it pulls off. It's not cloyingly sweet, but it is sweet. I wear it in the heat, and it does great because of that soapy/menthol feel. If you've ever worn a PDM you know there is something simulating menthol, but it is actually a fresh apple note that has a cooling effect on the nose when you oversniff it. Now, Pegasus is not soapy, and it does have higher quality, so don't expect the same performance as they do not behave the same, but I would say this is a fresher, heat-friendly interpretation. By the way, the White Nitro, is this same vibe with honey, vanilla, and suede. It's also really good. Not really a gourmand but rather, a very perfume-y toasted, sweet-but-fresh almond. I'm 67% into this bottle. Would I buy it again? Unless I get Pegasus for a reasonable price, yes. I will miss it when it's gone. Pegasus does not last as long, either (or at least my sample doesn't).

A Sweet and Cozy Surprise I recently got my hands on Nitro Blue Dumont, and I'm pleasantly surprised. While I expected it to be a citrus blue, I found myself captivated by a warm, nutty aroma that emerged on my skin. It's almost as if there's a hidden almond note that only reveals itself when it interacts with my body chemistry. The longevity is decent, lasting around 3-6 hours. While it doesn't project very far, it's perfect for intimate settings. I can also detect subtle hints of lemon, praline, and a touch of woodiness, adding complexity to the overall scent. I absolutely love Nitro Blue, but I do wish it were a bit stronger and had a longer-lasting projection. However, considering the price, it's an absolute steal. If you're looking for a cozy, comforting fragrance that won't break the bank, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

This fragrance smells so good. I may be on an island here, but I don't get much of Pegasus here. There are similarities, like the sweetness. The almond has been swapped out for praline, which I love. This is more masculine than Pegasus. It's a woody fragrance, but the praline shines. I get the tolu balsam and cardamom as well. It's got great longevity. It's not as beastly as Nitro Red, but it's a good projector. The nitro DNA is all throughout. I'm glad to have a bottle. I feel like I got great value for what I paid.

I think Pegasus is the most underrated scent from PDM and it’s one that I absolutely love. However, I haven’t owned my own bottle yet due to the price. I’ll be getting one at some point, but this is so eerily similar that it will do a fine job of holding me over. Honestly blown away by this in terms of similarity despite seemingly having no almond note. It’s still sweet and nutty with that vanilla foundation. Great stuff. My bottle did come with the worst atomizer I’ve ever used, though.

After 24 hours and a shower, the scent is still in there in the crook of my elbow, but I have to put nose to skin in order to smell it. This is an amazing fragrance all the way. Almost an exact duplicate of PDM Pegasus, but I think the dry down on this one is superior with mildly sweet, woody notes. Sillage is moderate, and becomes personal within a few hours. This would be a good date night fragrance, I think.

This whole entire dumont nitro line is all amazing I had to buy them all for the price it's just unbeatable and unbelievable how amazing it is and the fact that so many people sleep on these really trips me out.

Just got this in today. Smells amazing all the way through. For the price you can't beat it. I have been very impressed with Dumont. Nitro White is my next purchase, already have the Intense and Red.

The "Blue" moniker would lead you to believe it's a "blue freshie" type of aquatic fragrance, but it's actually a take on the modern sweet and fresh fragrance DNA that is loved by younger users today. It will easily remind you of sweet and fresh fragrance hits such as Rabanne's 1 Million, PdM's Pegagus and Armaf's Craze. This is a good blend of sweet, spicy. floral, fruity, patchouli musky, woody and powdery aromas. It's actually pretty complex for a sweet and fresh style of fragrance. There's a lot going on and just when you pick up one particular note, another comes wafting in. However, it is a bit redundant if you already have lots of sweet and fresh fragrances in your collection. This is great for younger users of both sexes, to be used on social occasions, and will do great in warmer weather. It's probably too sweet for some older users, but everyone else should enjoy this. Recommended.

Nitro Blue opens with a surprisingly cold, spicy sweetness. There’s a nutty warmth underneath that mixes with a creamy texture, giving it a smooth edge instead of being sharp or overly loud. A faint powdery touch lingers in the background, keeping it soft and almost cozy. The sweetness is really well done, has a juvenile edge but sort of walks the line between playful and mature. What stands out to me is how the cinnamon and orange blossom combo give me flashes of Althair or Liquid Brun — not the same scent at all, but it shares that same type of ambery-spiced, praline - orange blossom vibe. As it develops, the fragrance leans more ambery and creamy than “blue,” despite the name. I’d say it’s best for cooler weather, where the creamy spice really shines. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s definitely enjoyable and probably my 2nd favorite out of the Nitro line I own. A good pick if you like warm-spicy fragrances with a smooth, slightly powdery character — just don’t expect anything aquatic or traditionally “blue.”

Sweet, warm, and woody with a hint of amber. There's quite a powdery feel to it at well. I've never tried PDM Pegasus, so I can't speak on the comparison to the scent profile that inspired this. What I will say Nitro Blue somewhat reminds me of an earthier rendition of Armaf's Odyssey Homme White, since this lacks the same aquatic notes. It's nothing spectacular by any means, but a very solid fragrance nonetheless. To me, this works for any time of the year that isn't too hot. It won't be offensive, but I can't say that it'll be "mass-appealing". If you like sweet and warm masculine scents with some powderiness, then it's absolutely worth a try.

I've never smelled Pegasus myself, but I find the smell of this one very interesting. It dries down like one of those fancy wine-scented shower gels they used to sell in my country ages ago, and it's got this sweetish, smooth sorta nuttiness to it, but also has a tiny bit of a papery smell...quite unlike anything I've smelled before lol Don't really know what score to give this, it's nuclear as most of the Dumont Nitro line is, so I'm guessing it's a 7/10, unique but won't blow your socks off and definitely, DEFINITELY not bad at all for its price imho.

Fragrance Journal Entry #31 This fragrance is very unique an absolute steal at $30. It's hard to describe the smell but picture a Wanted flanker or something else from L'oreal but with a bit more originality, has some bubblegum sweetness with some woody ambery tones and a bit of a metallic vibe, it's youthful but mature leaning, and lasts all day, overall an excellent fall/winter cheapy that will get you noticed! Rating: 8.2/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

Maybe I'm insane, but to my nose this is a combination of Myslf and Pegasus. Maybe it's because I have Myslf and Nikos Sculpture, but the orange blossom here really comes through. Either way, this is a good scent that can be worn by anyone at anytime.

This was a nice surprise in my decant order. Reminds me of a less loud tom ford fucking fabulous. A little too floral for me still to buy a bottle. But if this is in your wheelhouse it’s a nice fragrance for the price. The nitro line has some bangers.

Pegasus with more of a (cotton?) candy-ish base. It's really great! Will add to this review as I test more. Edit: I'm pretty sure I like this more than Armaf Craze. This is more soapy, Craze is powdery. 7/10

If you're at Burlington trying to decide if you want this and you're a fan of Pegasus, get it! Smells great. Softer easier to wear than Pegasus.

Im not a fan of the opening but the dry is where this comes alive. For the price it's a nice piece to add to any collection.

I wanted to really like this one because I love getting great value vs. price. If you like spicy, sweet powder scents this fits that category. I guess it just wasn’t for my taste. All I get is powdered sweetness.

Not a fan personally. To me it has a rubber-type smell that I can't get over.

For me, Ferragamo's Acqua Essenziale Blu is a "winter blue." It's got a certain type of sweetness that works better in the winter since it feels a bit heavier. Nitro Blue doesn't smell like Acqua Essenziale Blu, but I classify it as a "cool weather blue" just like Essenziale Blu. For my taste, the sweetness is a little too heavy and dense for summer. I actually think they should've named their Red (Invictus-sytle) flanker "Blue" and named this one "Red."

This fragrance smells like acetone, I smelled and i was tasting the smell for like 30 minutes.

So I've only smelt pegasus once on a tester strip and I can't really report on closeness to that fragrance but this stuff is so far my favorite from the nitro line I've had the white green red black and platinum and this is by far the most unique I've smelt of all of them opens up spicy with a good dose of citrus dries down to a creamy nutty slightly spicy smell with some vanilla definitely recommended I don't find myself wanting reapply till 7 or so hours in i think it's different enough to the typical scents you'll smell like swy or azzaro that it really would work great for a cold weather fragrance to stand out

Got a sample of this, didn't know anything about it or the similar fragrances listed for this. It's a nice scent, little sweet, dry down is a good level of powdery, amber slightly wood note. I can't really see purchasing a full bottle as it is slightly forgettable but I can see this one being hard to dislike. Makes me interested to try a few of the other Dumonts as the quality seems quite nice.

I haven't figured out how, but Nitro Blue DOES give PDM Pegasus vibes, which is one of my favorite DNAs. I wouldn't call it a 1:1, but the resemblance is there, with a twist. I plan to buy a bottle to have on hand as I don't feel I NEED the OG enough to pass decent dupes by. Worth a shot if you like that scent profile.

Really nice peace of Art! Its like a blue sandawood fragrance! Its blue, but its sweet, at the same time has that nice dumont red / invictus feel at the very far bottom.... In my opinion its really dope and amazing, even for blind buy! Its like a combo of PDM sedley / pegasus / invictus! Worth it! Welldone Dumont!

Nitro Blue is a dupe of PDM Pegasus. The problem is it smells less like Pegasus on the dry down and doesn't last that long on me. A significantly better option is Destino Portofino Sunrise (on Jomashop), which is just a few bucks more but is a 1:1 clone of Pegasus and performs excellently.

Not sure about this one. I just got it. It smells good but it makes me want to puke. Maybe I need to let it sit for now. I spayed once on my skin. I needed to wash it twice with soap to completely remove the scent off my skin. It really does make me want to puke. Why????

Not a huge fan compared to the red. This ones sweet and had a strong licorice opening that fades. The smell reminds me a lot of rasasi dareej minus the cumin
