Jacinthe Et Rose

I wish my grandmother had smelled like this, rather than her usual Opium. Jacinthe et Rose just smells beautiful. Amazingly well crafted, even my fragrance consuming skin isn't able to subdue this fragrance but it's not overpowering and choking. Often, my skin will amplify musks and woods but I don't find that the case here, while not creating a come hither and you won't be disappointed fragrance, they balance it and give it intense feminine attraction. An innocent sensuality that blossoms into full womanhood without trying too hard, confident, elegant but playful. This is definitely not a trendy fragrance, this is timeless and combines the best of past and present. I think what I like best of Jacinthe et Rose is that it takes on different characters, such as green or floral, without being distracting and a side show. It breezes along displaying different aspects as if you are walking through a lovely path of masterfully landscaped gardens along the meadows and woods, one gracefully transitioning into another. I would liken this one to a Guerlain style, without the Guerlainade base that makes it so distinctive, separating it away from what you may need a change from or does not work for your skin chemistry. This is what I so often want my Aqua Allegoria fragrances to be and don't quite get. The florals remind me of Van Cleef & Arpel Feerie but much more satin and velvet aura around you. This is lovely. I would classify it as a floral aldehyde. It starts out as a sharp soft rose then sweetens and gets powdery. I imagine there is iris in here. It is a very springlike rose with no jam, no sharpness, no dry moldering petals, no sourness. Then it morphs into other flowers, including the hyacinth and peony with the ylang probably acting as the sweetener but indistinct. Then, it get seriously musky. That passes and you end up with a soft floral musk with some nuances of sandalwood and a tad of vetiver to keep it from being cloying. I did overspray this because it seemed light at first but it is a complex floral. I gave myself a little headache in the car. But, I love this. I am a rose lover and found this to be a unique rose scent unlike my others. In the base and final drydown it is ALL MUSK. Yummy and wonderful.

Jacinthe Et Rose is beautiful, it really is! as its name suggests, it's all about dewy hyacinth and rose. I remember i sprayed it for the first time and decided it's good. but just not good enough for me, lol. then at home I'd open my wardrobe and for days it was filled with this alluring and intoxicating smell. Of course i went back and bought it :) Even though it's floral and green, Jacinthe Et Rose is so perfect for... the end of winter! It's still cold but you already foretaste the sun, the warm breeze, white wine on the deck)) and all other good stuff that brings you nice weather.

It is not what you'd call 'sexy' or modern but rather lovely and romantic and gives you a feeling of being bathed in softness. Not too sweet either. I bought it when I was Paris in a department store and again when I went back the next time a couple of years later. If you really want something special, buy the body cream as well - it is delicious and stays on my skin well.

Beautiful Rose and hiacynth. My first nich perfume <3 Exquisite,romantic,uplifting, not on the sweet side,not heavey very femmeine. The best E. Coudray to my taset and one of my faivorite perfumes. To me its an everyday,every mood perfume. Good staying power. Update: 4 years later,Do I still love it? YES

A beautiful sharp rose, the usually overpowering hyacinth tempered to a whisper by the delicate peony and vanilla, warmed by the delcious underlying musk. If you really want to be dangerous, layer E Coudray Vanille et coco body lotion with a spritz of this over the top. It works for me.

Beautiful, soft soapy-floral scent, perfectly luxurious. Dominant notes are peony, vanilla, sandalwood, hiacynth and cedar, but they make a perfect combo - nothing stands out too much. I want this scent, it's really versatile and truly elegant.

Royal and feminine. Always admired and complimented while wearing this gorgeous fragrance. Love!!!!!!!!!

baby-oil hyacinth-rose and i love it!

This perfume was a totally unexpected love! I am not usually a massive rose fan - I don't dislike rose, indeed I rather like it when paired with other notes, but I have never particularly leaned toward rose scents in general. I received a carded manufacturers sample as a free gift with an unrelated purchase, and I am SO glad I did, because I doubt I would have ever sampled it otherwise! I must also admit that my language skills aren't magnificent and I didn't know "Jacinthe" was Hyacinth. I decided to spray this sample on my arm one day, as I knew I'd be getting washed and changed shortly so didn't want to use one of my other samples. Serendipitous chance, because I fell in love! One spray of this an I was hooked! Yes it has rose, but it is a beautiful realistic dewy rose smell, that smells just like the roses in my garden first thing on a summers morning as the sun comes up and highlights drops of dew on the petals. The hyacinth here is gorgeous, rich and lush, adding a "damp" (not like bad damp, just literally wet rather than dry feeling) without any bitter edge of galbanum so often paired with hyacinth. In fact the moist, lush, fresh hyacinth here is most similar to that in James Heeley's L'amandiere, than in say Bas de Soie or even Fidji. There is also peony, a hint of clean jasmine and a touch of orange blossom, making this a rich, luscious and clean floral. It doesn't smell like body cream but it somehow reminds me of really rich whipped body cream if that makes sense! It smells somehow familiar and comforting while simultaneously smelling completely unlike any other scent I have smelled. It is also totally, unapologetically feminine and elegant. That said it would suit any age, I disagree with the "old lady" style comments - this would equally suit a teenager or a pensioner, it is simply beautiful! It isn't a "sexy" scent in that is doesn't have a dark, animalic or musky side at all, yet it makes me feel so pretty and happy that in a roundabout way it IS sexy - I feel good wearing it, which makes me happy, which makes me feel more attractive...am I making any sense?!! It retains its floral character right through, and longevity is great at around 8-9 hours, with moderate sillage throughout. I have already drained my first sample and am onto my second, and this is right up there on my to buy list, and I'll be checking out other E.Coudray scents on the back of this. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful fragrance. It opens with a burst of rose and something a little cool - I suspect the vodka. Then comes the hyacinth, which is fresh and prominent until the rather quickly following dry down, when Jacinthe et Rose becomes more of a powdery skin scent on me. The dry down is the longest phase of this perfume. It is a shower fresh powder base, not old-fashioned but more classic. Very pretty and very feminine, with a vibe that's more sweet than sophisticated. In my opinion this is a Spring, Autumn or Winter scent, definitely NOT the right thing for a sweaty Summer day in a sub-tropical climate.

French flower soap... Rather romantic and lovely, could be worn by a granny but also her granddaughter would love to wear it from time to time. Something smells a bit 'melon-ish' to my nose which turns me a bit down. But it's still nice :) Update: lasting power is GREAT! Lasts all day! Oh and I'm tossing the granny-idea a bit... I may be wanting a whole bottle for myself now, hihi. update update: now I smell this in springtime... Ahh it's wonderfull! Starts out quite soapy rosey, then gets lovely soft and a bit sweeter due to the hyacinth... So romantic!

I don't know why but it is a green floral fragrance to my opinion. For spring, I can smell jacinthe, rose and green. Vintage, elegant, classic feminine perfume... It is like springtime in a park, a bouquet of fresh flowers. 7/10

I enjoy layering the body cream with Essence Eau de Musc Narciso Rodriguez for women. For me, it's a complimentary match. I must admit, the vodka note intrigues me. Perhaps there's a rose infused vodka out there. ;~)

Powdery rose similar to Hermes Rouge but Rouge has a little sour note which is borderline rancid or old to me. I prefer this to Hermes Rouge.

The first spritz was lovely. For a moment I believed I found my signature scent. I decided to buy it within 5 minutes, of course the price was quite tempting for a 100ml bottle. 10 minutes later I realized that it was just bad chemistry... I wanted to chop off my hand and throw it in the fireplace. :(

This feels gentle, sweet-natured and quintessentially feminine. When I wear this I feel it encourages openness, generosity of spirit and an inclination to be accepting and in the flow of life. E. Coudray declare this to be thoroughly in keeping with the "boudoir concept," which I guess translates as relaxed and comfortable, given there's nothing seductive or sultry about it. Jacinthe et Rose delivers what it says it does: a light (vodka?) and juicy opening shimmering with peach and brought back to earth with bitter orange, with Hyacinth illuminating the atmosphere in solo until a dusky Rose appears. From that stage on musk, cedar and sandalwood warm the florals, producing a soapy cloud of timeless loveliness for hours. Beautiful. If each of the females in the Downtown Abbey family has a scent - Mary's would be Chanel # 5, Edith would wear Penhaligon's English Fern, Rose would wear Molinard Habanita when she was being naughty, Countess Crawley would wear Guerlain's L'Heure Bleue and dowager Countess Violet Crawley played by Maggie Smith would smell like Jacinthe et Rose in the oil formulation - classy and soft, floral but not overpowering. It smells like a vintage scent that one of my delicious great-aunts might wear and I love it. Some old ladies smell very very great.

I love using the body lotion on its own in summer for a very clean soft cloud. any other time the perfume is magnificent, unlike anything else, gorgeous, opulent, and pure. the bath products are also fine on their own, you don't need to wear much. I went to an E Coudray sale a few years ago, I bought out all the Jacinthe et Rose, I still have half a bottle left, a little goes a long way and you don't need to layer it, it has staying power and a beautiful delicacy that few other scents can match.

I feel that Jacinthe Et Rose is the rose version of Sparkling White Diamond By Elizabeth Taylor which I drained last winter and was contemplating on getting another bottle. Then this beauty comes along and fills that void. The icy cold floral musk smells like floral shampoo but better, especially in winter when you finish a hot bath and put this on later. This is in the same category as Dior Pure Poison which emits the same lovely icy, cold laundry vibe.
