Celadon

This was the Early Modern scent I was most interested in and I’m wearing it for the third day in a row—it’s been different every time! I’m amazed by how accurately it delivers on the alluring, unusual notes. “Celadon” is a jade-green ceramic glaze that looks approximately like the body of a dolphin, and this fragrance has the cool, smooth texture of glossy pottery, combined with a watery, vegetal crispness. It absolutely smells like a leaf of lettuce served on polished stone, though (like a lot of perfumes with stone or concrete notes) it gets a little smoky as it develops. Once the green top notes dissipate, you're left with a smooth, peppery incense that's very pleasant. It’s among the most calming perfumes I’ve ever smelled, like a cold compress on your forehead. The first day I wore this, it was punishing, heat-dome summer outside and I think I sweated the perfume straight off my body in 30 minutes. Day two, it lasted longer (maybe 2 hours), but it’s definitely short-lived, with close sillage. Today, it’s giving a mentholated-dirt aroma that wasn’t there before and I’m almost worried that it went off in the heat—I hope not! Overall, an amazingly unique and artful perfume, though not a great performer. Definitely seek it out if you like stone or vegetable notes, or experimental scents in general. It's an aesthetic experience, not a daily driver, though it's actually very wearable. I'd compare it to CDG's Concrete or Radish Vetiver, though it feels more natural (and I like it better) than either of those. It also reminds me a bit of Yatagan's smoked-salad notes, though it's a very different perfume.

Love this fragrance! Very unique - lettuce note is strong at first, it's kind of peppery and green when you first spray. The clay is definitely there and compliments everything so well. The dry down on paper got quite bitter, but not in an unpleasant way. It does go a little musky as well. Yet to test the wear on my skin but really excited to try and would absolutely look into purchasing a full bottle. This is one of those fragrances that you'd consider art. It is super unusual, I doubt it would be a crowd pleaser for everyday wear but I really like it.

this is absolutely gorgeous, it's cold, austere, severe yet calm and comforting at the same time! this is the smell of an art museum after they've just cleaned the floors with pine sol... I was skeptical looking at the notes but after trying it this is completely cohesive and elegant! surprisingly minty/spruce-y which I wasn't expecting but it adds a nice bit of zest on the dry down! love love this one, definitely a hidden gem

I love this one. It's very rare for a blind-buy fragrance to smell exactly as I hoped it would, but this one does. It's a calm, beautiful, dusty, grey-green scent; exactly what I was looking for. Gorgeous.

Addictive, dynamic fresh fragrance that is not a boring citrus. Well seasoned and gently rounded. A friend who doesn't wear fragrance has made this his signature.
