Friday Edition

Really, who came up with the name for this brand?? In my country, “El Ganso” (The Goose) is almost always used as part of a double entendre or pun, and would never, ever, be used for anything else, we know better... That semi-cultural fact aside, let’s get into the fragrance... which is a very lovely one! It can be described as a sweet and spicy gourmand scent with a musky and slightly fresh/citrus aura. Cardamom and Anise are the first notes you’ll get, and a lot of them... beneath them you’ll smell some Tonka and a very faint Lavender... there’s also a very likable musky Cashmere Wood bottom... in the drydown, as the spices begin to fade, you’ll get more of the Bergamot, which is sweet and lemony, and also some of the aromatic qualities of the Sage. Many people find it similar to L’Homme and La Nuit De L’Homme, I do understand where they come from, however those fragrances are heavier on the citrus, while Friday Edition is more of a spicy aromatic fragrance, which makes it quite unique and deserving of its own space in the fragrance world. Performance is moderate all around, moderate projection and moderate longevity. For some strange reason I find the olfactory image a bit more masculine, although non of the accords are really geared towards men. I also get the cake references... cardamom, anise, creamy lemon... those aromas can easily be found at any confectionery or cake shop. A very lovely everyday fragrance!!

During COVID lockdown, I got really into baking. One of my more experimental concoctions was an Earl Grey-flavored layer cake with lavender-flavored frosting. (I know that sounds weird, but it was really good.) That's what this smells like to me. I love it, but it's probably not everyone's cup of tea (if you'll forgive the pun). I think this is a very unisex scent, for what it's worth--sweet like a baked good and spicy like a chai, but not too much of either.

the opening smells more like D&G the one which honnestly I don't like, some sort of sweetness that is not for me. After 30mn it is the sweetness disapear and you get vanilla based scent not a sweet one nor warm one, at that point its diffently a different scent. I like it very much. can be worn any time except for summer

easily likeable, sweet and spicy perfume from El Ganso. was not a huge fan of anise, but this made me rethink that. middle notes are lavender, sandalwood and tonka bean. it's a casual fragrance that can be worn anytime, but seems to be best at night.

Hidden gem. The reviews that say it smells like cake are spot on! To my nose this shares no comparison to the one, tbh I like this fragrance more than the one. You can find this fragrance for 35$ which is a great deal on this beauty!
