Gorgeous blend. My first thoughts were - a westernized patch rose oud gourmand, which is lovely but has been done a million times. But it is special upon closer inspection - in that the raspberry is pretty prominent, quite tart and citrussy - I really can appreciate when something tart breaks up the sweet and earthy notes. The rose is not vegetal it's the softer feminine bulgarian rose. Overall more woodsy than a white floral to me, patch being a very prominent note, but all the others blended in make this softer and more feminine than many go to florientals of today. Very subtle oud but definitely there. Touch of makeup bag vibe with the violet. Definitely sensual and definitely unique! Second testing: really feeling the tuberose today, in a slight cantaloupe kind of way (all mixed within the description above.) Today it smells even more fruity and floral than first testing. I think this is just a little too dry and white floral for me. Not at all a bad scent, but I need a little more sweetness or roundness, I think, to balance out the sharper rose and sandalwood. Looking for a dry rose? This might be a good choice.

I have the 100 ml bottle of this perfume. It is a perfume of very high intensity and a duration that exceeds 14 hours on the skin. Meh, so, I dreamt of this fragrance for years after I had first found it. I mythologized it and canonized it and deified it and turned it into an abstraction of itself inside my head. So when I finally found the fragrance again, I was actually quite dissapointed. Had my tastes changes? Was smelling it in a humid and warm climate instead of a cool crisp one ruining it somehow? It still has all the identifiable traits that made me so excited before, and not entirely dissimilar to how I remember it, but there are different aspects and facets and personalities that come forth now who didnt before - this is in fact rather mumsy. My partner ruined it for me in a matter of seconds after I walked into the room and he tells me i smell like Bea Arthur, or perhaps the potpourri in her bathroom. I have since forbidden him from sharing opinions about my perfume because he takes such great delight in ruining anything joyous. This scent which had so long been an ambition to acquire has since become something I rather regret, a squat and badly designed bottle that I feel obliged to try on cold days in the hope that it will return to its initial glory, but so far that hasn't happened and I smell very painfully sweet, like how a cake can make your teeth hurt; syrupy and jammy like someone who wears floral prints that belong on early 90s Laura Ashley furniture; loud and brash like someone who has zero mystery about them; and also uncomfortabley feminine, not a modern femininity but an outmoded and obsolete one - mom jeans, a tired perm, shoulder padded blouse. Maybe a fun scrunchie or some earrings shaped like parrots from a provincial zoo, oh you remember, that time we went even though it was overcast and bumped into Karen who used to work in HR.

Absolutely stunning. From the very first moment it touches the skin this is just magic. The rose is astonishing, the Oudh just enough, there are green and spicy aspects that with the oud ground the scent enough to smell just fantastic on a man. Do I smell citronella in here? Normally I would find that revolting but everything compliments itself within this scent. Truly spectacular and at the same time cosy. A very happy fragrance, not mournful or melancholic in the least. This is the scent of the smiles strangers give a handsome man on the tube carrying a big bouquet of flowers that they know are to surprise his beloved. This is not dissimilar in fact to Almas by boadicea, my all time favourite perfume. I simply cannot withdraw my nose from my wrist!! I have a feeling I shall be giving in to temptation and buying a bottle, and I've decided that just 15 mins in to having emptied my sample phial. I wish now that I'd saved some for later.

I concur with Gileshowe in most of what he says. Loads of sweet raspberry all the way through. I think I can smell citronella as well but its must be the grapefruit in combination with something else such as the bergamot! Its sweet, fruity, almost gourmand. A sweet vanilla, patchouli and amber drydown. There is not much oud at all. A very feminine fragrance.
