Le Parfum Eclat d'Or

I took a chance and purchased a one-off bottle of Elie Saab Le Parfum Eclat d'Or from a local Italian perfumery. At this point, the juice is old, but I couldn't resist a rare Francis Kurkdjian creation at such a great price. This was released a year after Baccarat Rouge 540, and though they have few notes in common, they share a similar composition framework—a lovely sweetness that hovers around a woody, slightly masculine base. Here, the sweet element is the Brazillian orange. You get a huge blast of it in the opening along with an old-school indolic floral bouquet. That dies down pretty quickly and the precious woods and beautiful patchouli begin to emerge. This, like Baccarat Rouge 540 plays with your nose. Just when I think that Eclat d'Or is just another ambery, woody-patchouli fragrance, I catch wafts of honeyed orange-tinged florals that seem to swirl around in the air. It's warm and uplifting and I am definitely going to reach for this a ton in the cool weather months. In terms of how it compares to the original and intense version, I think this one sits in the middle between the two. It's both playful and elegant at the same time. Longevity and sillage are above average and the overall quality is excellent. It really is a beautiful fragrance and feel so fortunate to have it my collection.

I truly adore this creation. The first notes are an absolute treasure, sweet and so darn beautiful leaving you wanting more. I kept on smelling my wrists all day long. I was the only one in line getting some materials/lumber and screws for work and a couple walked in, the wife made a comment that was so pleasing to hear. "Someone is wearing something that is so beautiful". I have all his series, love the dry down notes, it is sexier than the first notes. Well worth the purchase.

This has both a warm and bright Brazilian orange top note! It immediately sucks you in! I am a HUGE Elie Saab Le Parfum, Le Parfum Intense etc. fan. I get compliments all the time when I wear any of the gold juice fragrances from Elie Saab....which this is part of. To ME? There are enough differences added in the perfect way, but you can still smell that beautiful Le Parfum hanging around and mingle with the other brighter notes. LOVE THIS!

Déjà, la bouteille est sublime... On retrouve bien le coté Elie saab fleural, un peu fruit d'été, sensation de bonne humeur.... il est plus sucré que l'ancien, je crois que c'est le coté mie qui le rend ainsi, citronné comme toujours, est fleuri a la fois, il a vraiment tout pour plaire il devait juste sortir le parfum en plusieurs size a mon avis

I had a tester of this perfume and I LOVEE it. It's like those perfumes that grab anyones attention in a classy way! It's absolutely in my wish list!!!

Since I know there are more Kurkdjian fans out there, I will drop a few words about this beauty that my husband got me as my birthday present (it's very nice to have a birthday in early December, I can ask for presents at the beginning of the month and then have a second round for Christmas... :)). I don't know about other countries, but here in Poland the sellers in Douglas (exclusive vendor of E.Saab) have absolutely no idea what to tell the customers about this perfume. I went there to investigate and asked if it was similar to EDP or EDT or EDP Intense and the answer was: "We are not sure... but the bottle is different!". Well, that's very helpful, thank you. Anyway, the juice is very pretty! I would say that out of the three it resembles mostly the EDT. EDP is less sweet, more crispy, more serious and elegant; this one, like the EDT, is sweet and fruity. Actually, on Douglas' website they put it under the fruity-floral category, and not chypre floral. I have to agree that chypre is not the right word for it, since the scent is dominated by the note of sweet orange. Just like other reviewers have mentioned, it is sweet, but I wouldn't say it's Christmasy sweet, if you know what I mean – it has little to do with scents like Casmir and such. To my nose, its sweetness is very spring-like and rather than of Christmas, it makes me think of spring and summer, of eating ripe fruits in a blooming orange grove. Actually, now that I think about it, it reminds me a bit of Jo Malone Orange Blossom. All in all, it's lovely, classy and joyful. Is it memorable? I am not sure. But hey, not everything has to be unforgettable. Sometimes it's just about enjoying the moment.

It's definitely sweeter than the other versions of this perfume. I like the original much better with it's crisp and clean scent. This one doesn't make me feel the same way. It doesn't stand out. But it's more suitable for winter and Christmas. There's a lot more patchouli in it than in original. It's nice, but I expected more of this.

This did not work well with my skin type. I just did not understand this fragrance and was disappointed as I was really really excited about it. I got it as part of a 30ml miniature collection. I just used it up to finish it.

I feel like BPI has mastered the 30 something age scent. Let's see what they so with D&G

It smells exactly like the EdP Intense version just with a fruity orange.
