5th Avenue NYC Lights

Fresh, juicy citrus notes evoke cheerful fragrances of the 1990s. The impression is carefree, energetic, radiant, and colorful. Gradually, the composition becomes smoother, gaining a subtle sweetness. On fabric, the scent lasts all day, while the sillage fairly quickly settles into a close-to-the-skin presence. What I truly love about the 5th Avenue flankers is that each one tells its own story, far removed from the original. This particular version sparkles with beautiful reflections of metropolitan lights. A lovely flanker, presented in a charming bottle.

Szuper illat, hideg, de napos januári időben kezdtem használni egy tesztert belőle, annak ellenére, hogy szinte nincs is "kék" illatom. Valahogy az összetevők csábítottak, és jó volt a megérzés, szuper parfüm egy hatalmas hátránnyal, gyenge. Nagyon kellemes eljétől a végéig, jó lenne naphosszat illatolni, de kb 2-3h alatt eltűnik, vagy teljesen bőrközelivé válik. Néhány anyagon valamelyest megmarad, de azért az mégsem ugyanaz... Viszont én most boldogan fújkálom naphosszat! Ár/érték arányban verhetetlen! Kiváncsi vagyok jó időben mit mutat majd?!

I'm a huge fan of the original 5th Avenue. I've tried others in the line but ended up gifting them to loved ones for a variety of reasons. They either smelled similar to something else I own, or were too sharp. I'm pleasantly surprised by NYC Lights. The opening is understandably tart due to the combination of cranberry, lime, and mandarine. It doesn't take the fragrance long to settle into a well-balanced, clean, creamy scent. The amber, tonka bean, and sandalwood are responsible for the warmer notes that prevent it from becoming too screechy. I plan to enjoy it this Spring. I could never use it during hot weather because the top notes will turn screechy on my skin. Longevity and sillage are not great-- it sits close to the skin, so you can expect an hour or two on moisturized skin. You might get 3-4 hours if you spray it on your top. I'm not sure I would repurchase this scent, but I may change my mind. I do anticipate reaching for it often.

This is a nice office type of fragrance. A post modern chypre that is a lot lighter than chypre perfumes of the 20th century. This starts off w/ a tart cranberry, sweet tangerine and crisp lime. The orris in the heart is very slight, it is not very powdery at all to my nose. I get a lot of amber and a bit of osmanthus in the heart. The base is a creamy tonka bean and woody patchouli. All and all a nice easy perfume that is great for running errands, office work, looking after kids, you know everyday life. You will smell nice, clean but not like shower gel because this still smells like a perfume. Edit:12/19/21 I gave this to my bestie. She smelled it and fell in love w/ it and thought it would be a great office perfume. It was a little extra in the Christmas bag I gave her. It is a very good office fragrance and every inexpensive. So if you are looking for something like that, give this one a try.

Really pleasantly surprised by this one. Starts out sharp and fruity with the lime, orange and cranberry which I can't pick out individually. A little sour and not the typical generic sweet fruity smell. More like a strong vodka cocktail. The heart and drydown are just lovely. Everything just blends out to a smooth, warming base. This would be appropriate for almost any situation. Work, shopping, out for dinner and drinks, a party. The only time it may not work would possibly be in very hot weather. I think this would be a lovely autumn and winter reach if you don't want something too heavy and complicated. It doesn't smell like anything else I own. It has decent sillage, is noticeable without being obnoxious. Doesn't outstay it's welcome but lasts a decent amount of time. And did I mention it cost just £11.99 for 75ml? Absolute steal, best blind buy in ages.

For me this perfume is the lighter version of Chevignon Heritage. There is a lot of amber in the smell and some leather. And the beginning is really slightly citrate I would not say citrus in the true sense of the word, it later feels the sweetness of the iris and ends in a woody amber just like Chevignon. I don't know if I have a preference between the two, Heritage is more peppery than what for me sometimes makes it unbearable so I guess this is better for the day day, I would be curious if it's produced also by J.B. like Chevignon, I would not be surprised at how similar the formulas are. Unfortunately, it has nothing from the old 5th and this disappointed me, maybe they find it too hard to reformulate a great classic. I don't know if I'll keep the perfume, as I'm not really into spraying Chevignon on me either, I might give them both.

Blind bought for £8 from TKmaxx and I have to say for less than £10 it's a bargain. I really like this scent, it's pleasant and understated. Considering the notes it isn't heavily or particularly woody. I tend not to be a fan of chypre fragrances but the powdery/iris part balances it well and makes it just sweet enough without being sickly. It isn't a strong scent and doesn't over power. I cannot think of any perfume that reminds me of Lights so in my opinion it is unique and should be even credit for being original. For me this is a perfect office scent especially if you do corporate events, suited and booted. I think this is great for autumnal days.

Understated is an understatement. Pleasant, fresh and slightly sweet, well-balanced fragrance but it wears close to the skin and longevity is not great. Perfect for those pesky "scent-free" workplaces and such. There will just be a clean, very light if there at all, fragrance if someone gets close enough to you. The tonka in the dry-down is wonderful.

Not a single review, I am shocked. Here's the first one. It's a soapy scent. I don't sense any citrus or other fruity notes. I think it's pleasant enough, nothing special, but an okay fragrance. It could be someone's everyday scent.

It's spring where I live and it's not an invasive perfume, it's definitely more youthful than the regular 5th Avenue perfume. I like the citrus and fruity notes here, they mix well with the floral ones. However, the drydown doesn't smell great on my skin, and I prefer sweeter perfumes.
