Always Red Femme

As I've confessed before, Red Door is one of my two signature scents. (The other is Ralph Lauren Safari.) I love it with all of my heart. I've been happy with all of my Elizabeth Arden fragrance purchases, and decided recently to buy a bottle of this beauty. On my skin, it is nothing short of DELICIOUS! There is definitely some similarity between the two. I would say that this is Red Door's SEXY big sister. They're in the same family, and have the same bones, but there is a whole other rapturous quality to this masterpiece that is missing from Red Door. I love savoring the whole experience of this - incredible from first burst to dry down. I don't really pick out individual notes with this one. It is more of a "scent quilt" if you will, like it is covering you with the most luxurious scent you've ever experienced. I haven't owned this long enough to try it during the different seasons or to wear it while going out with my hubby, so I'll have to add those results later. All I can say, and I truly never say this, I FEEL really sexy wearing this. And who can't use that pick-me-up daily? Highly recommended, especially to other Red Door lovers like me.

I'm doing two reviews, one of the original, and one for the reformulation (which I do not like): I fell head-over-heels in love with this perfume. One evening I was driving home from work and kept smelling something wonderful. I then realised it was me! This fragrance is beautiful, sexy, exquisitely feminine, and so long lasting at the same time. It's rose, cassis, patchouli, and everything that's right with the world. If you spot the original in the black bottle with the foiling grab them because the reformulation is a shadow of it's former self. I am a fan of EA for creating decent quality, pretty perfumes at an affordable price but I will say shame on EA for doing this. The company has stripped out the heart and soul in the reformulation. Now, if you like the original and want a lighter version for summer, then the reformulation in the clear bottle will suit you. But if you love the original, the new version is a let-down. Moral of the story is if you love the original, grab a few back-ups. Don't wait for the reformulation, as you will be as disappointed as I was.

Elizabeth Arden Always Red Femme is a beautiful fruity floral fragrance, slightly gourmand & jammy and a completely different fragrance to the original Flagship Red Door. Quite loud and sweet opening, but have patience and wait half an hour the fragrance develops into a warm sensual almost chypre the dry down is sensual. I agree the edt does need regular top ups, it seems to disappear quickly and is a skinscent not a bomb or room filler which I think nowadays is actually really good. Reminds me very much of the now discontinued Dewberry by The Body Shop. If you like Si by Giorgio Armani, La vie est Belle by Lancome you will love this fragrance. Lovely dark black box with florals and black matt bottle with floral front. Modern contemporary. Age range honestly anyone who enjoys fruity flirty fun fragrances. Value for money is excellent. Elizabeth Arden is a High End House I've visited Red Door in New York. An excellent gift. I purchased 100ml edt on Groupon in the UK for £17.99. What's not to love? If its not for you regift it, will make someone very happy. 🙏❤

When I saw that this was going to be launched I was intrigued by the bottle, but once taking a look at the notes I thought "nah, this one isn't for me". Usually I go for caramel and powdery type of fragrances. However, I got a tester of it when I made another purchase. As soon as I tried it, I fell completely in love. I was with a friend by the time and she went crazy as well. Ever since, I have spritzed a few drops on my wrist now and then and thought about how much I really, really like it. What's even better is how long it lasts even with just a few drops, about eight to ten hours with good radiation! After not having picked up the tester for a while as I didn't want to run out of the magic juice, I sniffed it today and felt the same as always; a scent that is intriguing, cozy, feminine and just lovely. Two minutes later, I ordered a gift set of it online (for myself, obviously) with express delivery as I can't wait to get my hands on it. Just. Amazing!

Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't think this smells like Si at all. In Si, I smell green leaves, cassis liqueur, and florals with a touch of patchouli. In Always Red Femme, I get bright flowery topnotes, but overall this is a light, sweet amber with a base of powdery woods. I think it's wonderful! Always Red Femme doesn't remind me of Red Door in the least (thank goodness). Even though the bottle is similar this doesn't seem to be a Red Door flanker. It's unique, and well worth a purchase for me. I love Oriental fragrances, and I've never been a fan of fruity florals. Always Red Femme is what I wanted Pretty Hot to be, (and I much prefer the Always Red name). The Artemisia takes center stage!
