Green Tea Bamboo

Edit: This is in my regular line up and I'm on my 3rd bottle of this scent specifically. I wanted something different for a change from my normal Green Tea I've picked up multiple times. Different it is! The bamboo dominates. The tea whispers a bit in the background, it's not lost. There is that "Green Tea" identity to some extent but make no mistake this is its own scent. It's not just a copy cat of Green Tea with a hint of something else. It's more like a herbal bamboo with a hint of Green Tea. There's a masculine vibe about it, but the lemon helps balance that. I'm also a fan of the cucumber in this scent and find it helps tame the bamboo. A nice, clean, fresh scent. Be it the original or Green Tea Bamboo, this is what I consider my "Fresh out of the shower" style scent. I found in the dry down that the bamboo notes relaxed some(not lost), while the cucumber became a bit more accentuated. Green Tea Bamboo has a unisex quality to it. This is one of my go-to inoffensive work scents. Nice, light, not very long lasting but I don't want anything like that for work. I just want to smell clean and I think this scent accomplishes that.

I bought this one at duty free. It is a fresh clean ozonic fragrance to me. I detect bamboo, green tea and some water notes, I don't really get any of the other citrus or woody notes listed. This is my favorite of all the Green Teas. I find it lasts longer than the others. It is perfect for getting out of the shower and when you are running errands or just going for morning/afternoon walk. I find myself reaching for this more often than I expected, it is just safe, clean and fresh. It is happy and easy to wear. It is not at all citrusy to my nose, this confuses me as the notes suggest it would be, and it's not at all. I really like this scent, I wish it projected and lasted longer, but it is cheap, and one gets what they pay for. I must say this is the kind of bamboo scent I have been looking for, I tried gucci bamboo and it has nothing on this. The bamboo is much more fresh and prominent in this scent than gucci bamboo, despite gucci being 3x times the price.

My most successfull blind buy til now. It's giving the vibe of a bamboo mat next to freshly washed laundry. Starts very citrusy, then gets green, dry and musky. A very nice everyday scent, stays more bamboo-y on clothing and more musky on the skin.

Very zen... Very green.. Very subtle, mild, gentle scent.. When i used it as room spray, it always give me a very greenery feel.. i felt as though i was in the bamboo forest.

I think this and Lotus are the most beautiful of the line. Much nicer than Summer or Lavender and I don't like the Nectarine one.

Great in its simplicity, of which it is well aware, not lacking in gratifications.

GT Bamboo feels like a Japanese break time. There are a couple of young, green, bamboo shoots on your table, a bamboo mat with a cup of green matcha tea, the wet bamboo whisk and a plate of very cold cucumber sticks. It smells energetic and refreshing but yet zen and relaxing at the same time. GT B is gender neutral IMO and for the hottest of temperatures, if you enjoy mild summers, it might feel too sharp. The original GT smells better but GT Bamboo actually lasts longer on my skin. It has some interesting notes that I would have loved to smell more of - like mastic and tamarind, but unfortunately the bamboo is too strong and overpowers the other notes, except for some cucumber, mild citrus and clean musk. I enjoy wearing it in the hottest days of summer but I enjoy it even more layered with the original GT.

I found this at a discount store dirt cheap, so blind bought it. I had 50/50 chances of liking it because I love green/fresh/citrus perfumes, including ones with bamboo notes - however I dislike the original Elizabeth Arden Green Tea as well as other green tea perfumes I've tried. I loved the opening with its citrusy, green rush. It dries down into a very true green tea plus bamboo mix. Still retains a citrusy element even after the drydown. They should really market this as unisex because it is, and they could attract more buyers. This is a really close match for Bath and Body Works White Citrus! Edit: I ended up returning this. Cheap and synthetic. Wish I'd seen the other reviewer who said, don't blind buy this no matter how cheap it is. Agree. LOL

This one works for me, with the original Green Tea DNA under a watery herbal opening. Citrus is there as always, but not overpowering or sour in this flanker like it is in some of the others (looking at you, Yuzu 👀). Like all the Green Teas, sillage stays close and longevity is weak. Fortunately the price point means you can afford to respray often. I will say that with this one, I love the scent of the sillage, but get a hint of something bitter if I smell it directly against my skin. Overall it's a nice, light freshie you can afford to use at the gym or anytime you need to freshen up. I wish these lasted longer, but then they would lose the signature airy freshness that makes them a warm weather staple. 🌿 ☀️

This is a very woody representation of the usual green tea scent. Very reedy/watery, almost like aloe, that sort of green sappy freshness. Good fresh bamboo note. Not as sweet as the usual EA green tea, but much greener and woodier. A light scent, good for work environments or as a refreshing pick me up during the day. Doesn't have as much citrus as the usual EA green tea so might be a good alternative for a "wake up" scent if you don't like citrus. Ironically this is what I had hoped the new Gucci Bamboo smelled like, which of course it doesn't at all!

I've come to the conclusion that all green tea perfumes smell like...well..green tea. Be it Arden, L'Occitane, Creed, or any other company I've tried. It smells good, but it does get a little boring after a while. I'm not even sure I could tell this one apart from Thé Vert from L'Occitane. My experience is that if you've tried one, you'll know what the others smell like. Still nice though.

I love this. Green Tea Bamboo is the perfect unisex tea scent. I love it to wear to/after going to the gym. The smell is clean with a touch of deep green tea. It wears really close to the skin but last several hours, but great for when you might want to go out later and wear something stronger. I agree with @gtabasso the sweetness of the tamarind and cucumber is so nice.

green tea + lime + salty note + crushed grass or bamboo without the indolic note (almost like melting metal/welding, rubber or some kind of sweat??) Interesting. color: green music: In and Out of Love - Armin van Buuren feat. Sharon den Adel Edit: It has a distinct honey-mint vibe akin to L'Eau par Kenzo.

Mostly smells like tea, there's just a little fresh woody scent to it. I tried the Cucumber version lately and now since I liked that one better, this one doesn't impress me at all. Good, but not super amazing. All Green Tea fragrances are good for people who don't like strong perfumes.

I just smell a salty citrus/kumquat/tangerine and almost nothing else. It's not bad, it's an interesting scent, just wish there were something more because the key notes here look so promising. I expected to smell something more than citrus. A bit disappointed.

Spimple, clean, watery and fresh! This perfume opens up with lemon and cucumber. After a while the bamboo and tea notes show up. It's great during warm weather between showers! I'd say it's a unisex scent. Both men and women could wear it.

Not bad...this is fresh, green and very unisex...maybe the most unisex of all the flankers...glad to see some boys trying this one out...great light summer perfume that doesn't break the bank...worth seeking out...

It's perfect under the current circumstances, as I find it very refreshing and it makes me feel energised. The original smells better, but this one is a nice flanker, I can only recommend it.

This is a Green Tea flanker that is very fougere in the opening. If you like Green tea scents and fougere scents then you’ll enjoy this. I just wish it had better projection.

This is a quiet woodsy fresh green tea scent. Very calming. I enjoy bergamot and woodsy scents and with the bamboo...I'll definitely repurchase.

Very dry and green. A nice complement to the standard Green Tea, which is sweeter and juicier. I actually feel like they’d layer really nicely.

This is my favorite of all the Green Tea perfumes.

I rather like this one, though it goes a bit flat and boring after about 10 minutes. Dry, woody and dusty bamboo with some ozonic florals and your usual Green Tea heavy dose of bergamot. I agree with the reviewer before that it smells very '90s aquatic freshie, moreso than the vast majority of Green Tea flankers (save maybe Green Tea Camellia and Green Tea Cucumber) This has a watery-sweet quality to it in the same way that Green Tea Cucumber does -- the cucumber in Green Tea cucumber smells like the cucumber syrup used in mixed drinks. Once I looked up the notes, I realized this also has cucumber in it -- it's that same bartender's cucumber syrup. I prefer Green Tea Cucumber, as it feels less 'muddy' in composition and more refreshing. Lasts under 2 hours, significantly less than the original Green Tea. Like most Green Tea flankers: easy to like, easy to forget. ★★★☆☆

Opens with a huge citrusy green tea blast, swifty a sweet sugary note appears, then the bamboo which is faint and gives off a watery cucumber smell. There's some musk in here somewhere but the whole thing comes off as overly synthetic and cheap like a bodyspray. But I mean it IS cheap so what can you expect. It eventually settles into a kind of bottled sweet tea aroma with a little baby powder. It's not awful but as a guy this is way more in the realm of feminine fragrances and not as unisex as some reviews would lead you to believe. I'll eventually give GT Lotus and GT Yuzu a go because they sound a lot more unisex than GT Bamboo turned out to be. If you're a guy looking for a fragrance with bamboo try Mont Blanc Starwalker or Alfred Sung Hei instead.

Gah, that sour citrus opening KILLS me! No fragrance needs this much citrus, especially one with slightly bitter tea and mate notes in it. I think I like this one marginally better than GT Yuzu. The dry down is actually quite pleasant and much more refreshing than the acidic opening, so you might be surprised if you can stick it out past the opening. I do actually smell the bamboo! It’s a nice green scent, but I don’t think it pairs especially well with some of the other notes.

Wish I could love this, but it does not sit well on my skin. It opens with citrus and bitter green tea, and then mellows to a woody smell with little to no musk. This is an extremely clean smell and can work well as a green layering piece. My body unfortunately DOES NOT mesh well with this, as it ends up smelling like cat pee on me- do not blind buy!

This smells like 90% woody dry bamboo, 10% 90's aquatic floral notes ala cool water. Remotely smells like the original Green Tea. Cucumber smells more green than this one.

Possibly the worst from the Green Tea line. Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea line is one of the best-smelling affordable fresh scents a woman can get. And I say "best-smelling" because they tend to suffer performance-wise; few hours, eau de cologne-like performance. Now most of the scents in the line range between like & love for most people. Enter Green Tea Bamboo. While it does provide a fresh scent with a realistic woody, green, and aquatic bamboo note, the bamboo note itself is quiet synthetic & harsh. When I smell it, I literally get nostrils & upper incisors pain. I know, weirdly specific pain location but it is the truth. GT Bamboo is so harsh, that I literally get physical pain from it. Now notice that I didn't say it smells bad. It's okay, not repulsive, not beautiful. But the physical reaction it elicits is noteworthy & repulses me personally due to the pain. In short, fresh, green, woody, aquatic bamboo scent. Harsh, synthetic, & can elicit pain. "Dislike", unfortunately.

Body spray quality and hair spray smell. Do not blind buy no matter how cheap it is.

Unless I got a bad batch or something this is terrible to me. I blind bought this because I couldn't find it and any discount store. So i bought it off fragrancex. I kept seeing reviews about how this was supposedly the best flanker in the line. Its gives me serious headaches. It is green but a very off artificial green with a lot of musk, at least to me. I cant even use this to freshen a room. The Sakura Blossom is much better but still not really it fo me. My search for an inexpensive everyday fragrance continues.

I wanted to like this. I heard that it was one of the best Green Tea flankers. Unfortunately, I can't stand this one :( It's a hate for me. Not exactly sure what it is about it, but I believe that the bamboo note is very strong and it just doesn't sit right with me. Gave it away after trying it a few times of times.

Unfortunately I absolutely hated this. To me it has a bitter plant juice smell like sniffing a big pile of weeds and lawn clippings and trimmings off a stinky shrub. It's such a shame as I really love the original. I don't think it's a safe blind buy.

In my quest to collect all of the EA Green Tea flankers, I acquired Bamboo for about $12-13 and am glad to have only paid that much for it because it doubles as a guilt-free room spray. I'm a little surprised that Bamboo was launched rather "recently" in 2014 instead of the 90s, because this smells like a throwback to the ozonics and aquatics from that era. Bamboo opens with a cavalcade of nose hair singeing citrussy piths and oils of the bergamot, grapefruit, tart lemons (strongest), and the sour tanginess of tamarind, which becomes intensified by the equally screechy and painfully sharp green tea & cucumber, followed by a faint trail of honeysuckle-like syringa which doesn't really add anything but slightly sugars the intensity with a touch of floral sweetness. Then the starchy orris, mate, and mastic comes to temper all of the notes to create this bamboo hologram green tea scent. Overall, it's a decent cheapie to throw in a gym bag or a dumb reach to smell as squeaky clean as possible. I like to use most of the Green Tea flankers to freshen up a room or to create a spa-like scent in my hot showers.

With a little anxiousness, I purchased this fragrance. Anxious because, as a man, I wasn't sure this was going to fit the bill. But I wanted a bamboo/tea scent. I ordered this and Truth by Calvin Klein. Truth, which has great reviews, hasn't come in but if it's anything like this, I'm sold! A man can pull this off. And Vostok308 is right about that. It is strong at first, but 5 - 10 minutes the scent settles and you get this relaxing bamboo...faint tea smell. Very Zen feeling. For me this is a "just got home for a hard day and all I want to do is get my comfortable clothes on, jump into bed, and relax" bottle. Starwalker, by Mont Blanc does that for me too with it's bamboo scent. You won't regret this is you're looking for a relaxing scent.

Ladies, would this fragrance suit a straight, well muscled man in his late 40s? I'm confident but nevertheless don't want to smell too girly. I'm looking for something light, discrete, fresh, different and distinctive for the hottest days of summer and a holiday in Cyprus in May. Just looking for a bit of affordable variety, that's all. Thanks. Addition: I bought some, I've worn it and I'm very pleased with it. My opinion is that a man CAN get away with it. Very much so, in fact. It's a lovely crisp, refreshing summer scent that I'm looking forward to wearing in the summer months and to taking on holiday with me. I thought it'd be weak and watery but its got a bit of oomph on me so no more than two sprays to do the trick.

This is the only fragrance ever got me so negative announcement by the nearest! "You smell sweating somehow, or maybe have you used bad rag lately or something?". Trying to find the original grass based fragrance by Issey Miake (similar bottle, similarly hays floting on the bottle), and couldn't not find the one, I was taking this bamboo instead of the origin Arden Green tea. This bamboo version is actually quite better when layering it with Givenchy Gentleman (the white stripe bottle). It became more cucumber freshie lacking the "old sweaty rag" behind and away.Definitely testing the EAs original green tea with this GiGen too, I think it will be the killer combo!

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea is a well loved line of cheapies in EDT concentration. Not all of them are equally good; I’d say that Green Tea Bamboo is one of the best, simply because it does smell like bamboo, whilst preserving the herbal-leafy theme. I can also smell the cucumber note, and the overall vibe is more ozonic than green. Pretty decent sillage too, while the longevity is 2-3 hours - but for that price I don’t expect more. All in all, this is a decent, refreshing everyday fragrance and a good addition to the GT line. I was disappointed with GT Mimosa, but now I’m looking forward to testing GT Fig. Hope it’s not too artificial!

Blind bought this at TJ Maxx because it was so cheap I thought why not. Ended up being very nice for the hottest days of summer. Fresh, watery green. The bamboo is quite noticeable, as is the cold wet cucumber note. I like this much more than the OG Green Tea, which has a lot of spiciness to my nose. This one is chill and transparent. Like a cold glass of water when you're so very thirsty. The tea notes show up more on the drydown for me. If you're looking for a scent with a really prominent bamboo note, this is it, baby.

Cheap blind buy (which I no longer do!). It's as if you walk into a kitchen and smell the lemony cleanser used to clean till it sparkles. You notice tea-bags on the counter ready to dip. On the sill is a planter with two bamboo stalks that have just been watered. Pleasant scent for that room, but not as a perfume (for me, anyways). I put it under my sink and spray as an air freshener after a good clean. I can not imagine walking around with that astringent lemon scent coming off my skin :)

I tested this last week, and I'm still undecided if I even like it. The opening bamboo note smells exactly like bamboo, and nothing else. So well done for that. But I find the bamboo note a bit jarring and uncomfortable. I don't wear perfume to achieve that. It fades soon enough, and then the dry down is lovely and mellow. Maybe I just like plain old Green Tea with nothing added. Or maybe it's just so unfamiliar, and I could get to like it in time. Maybe . . . .

The original was one of my most loved ones in my early teens. I don't have it around to compare but this one smells exactly like (my memory of) it. I've tested two of the other flankers before but I don't even remember which ones those were, they are all so similar. This one delivers the usual freshness and tranquility. Awesome for those quiet times spent doing nothing but recharging. Typical vacation scent.

Unfortunately, this did not smell good on my skin. It smelled like old wood and is very unpleasant. Going to return this along with Green Tea Summer and Tropical.

If you like very fresh, green, mossy, earthy scents you will like this. Kinda reminds me of Marc Jacobs Decadence. Nice for work

To me it smells like sushi: moist bamboo mat, cucumber, salty soy sauce and flowery green tea.

Now if only this lovely, floaty scent lasted more than five minutes.
