Green Tea Yuzu

This is a surprising blind buy; it's a peculiar perfume and I oddly love it. I bought this because I was looking for a citrusy scent I could add in my collection since I don't have much "fresh" and "tart" smelling ones, so I instantly grabbed this from the shelf and bought it. Before opening this, I read some reviews in this site and saw that most of them are negative, though I didn't really put too much thought to it because I believe everything comes down to your personal preference. I started regretting my purchase when I read "cat urine, stale, rancid, sweat" as its smell but I gave this perfume the benefit of the doubt and just hoped for the best. As I sprayed it and gave it a quick whiff, I totally get where the reviews were coming from and I could totally smell the reminiscent scent of cat urine; however, it doesn't exactly smell like it, I think most of it just coming from the "sharp" sensation of smelling a strong citrus peel and cat urine. I agree, it's a sharp scent but it mellows down once it dries down--which isn't too long right after spraying. I love how this scent starts as a bitter zing of pure citrus and settles as a fresh, citrusy, and woody scent. The notes I got from this are earl grey tea, yuzu, lemon leaves, lemongrass, dried mango leaves, and bamboo shoots fused with birch. What sets this perfume from the other green tea flankers is its complexity, and yes people are either going to hate or love it. I noticed that most of the other variants are fruity-florals, in which of course most of time it'll be pleasant and will be loved by everyone, but this? This is something you should learn how to love, which is a unique experience. One thing I also considered from this scent is it's longevity and sillage, knowing that the major concern of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea line is its weak performance--it's almost like spraying infused water on your skin lol--surprisingly, this variant seems to be the strongest because I received some compliments from my friends and they said it's the only thing they smelled while we were in the cafe (wow, it overpowered the smell of freshly brewed coffee?). We spent 2 hours or so in the cafe and it's amazing how I could still smell it on my way back home. This perfume badly wants to be different, which is something you should accept and understand in order to like or love it !!

August 12, 2014 The following was written by an aging member of Generation Y and serves as a review for both Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Parfum and Green Tea Yuzu eau de Toilette. Tea has a special place in my kitchen and in my heart. Though I am ignorant as to how much tea is consumed in the UK, I have always felt that I was anachronistically born in a soda guzzling, coffee addicted nation. I enjoy my habit of shaking off mild depressive phases by going to the grocer and purchasing gourmet teas. My grandmother kept a collection of herbal teas in stock for me when I was a child, and every morning, my mother made black tea with sugar and milk for me. The rituals of drinking hot tea and never being without a pitcher of iced tea in the fridge seemed unique to the women in my family. When we were only friends, my now husband seemed intrigued by my tea addiction and declared that his new hobby was preparing tea for me. He has prepared me tea thousands of times and I am convinced, that with him, there is nothing a good cup of tea cannot fix. When I first married my husband, I was finishing up my last bottle of lotion of Green Tea by Healing Gardens, a cheap and guilty pleasure of mine. When I started to wear a fragrance my husband did not like he asked, "What was that other stuff you used to wear?" He wanted me to smell like Green Tea by Healing Gardens, but alas, it could not be. But now I have Elizibeth Arden Green Tea Parfum and Green Tea Yuzu eau de Toilette lingering on my skin and it smells just like the Healing Gardens Green Tea lotion, except less harsh, a little more light and clean musk, and it is like the earthy taste I get in my mouth after taking a sip of green tea. And even better, it is like Irish Spring soap gone sexy and feminine. Some may complain about the lightness of Green Tea, but I feel green tea should be light and enjoyed with those I want kept near to me. That being said, my husband is going to be home from work in 15 minutes and I am going to put on only my geisha robe, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea and Yuzu, and I will find out how long it takes the water to boil for my evening cup.

I received this as a sample. This, like the other's in Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea series is more like a body spray.With that being said, I love the yuzu. lemon and bergamot with the yuzu. Very soft, serene and sunny. This scent makes me smile. I will have to reapply several times but this comes in a 3 ounce bottle so I won't complain.

A burst of citrusy notes, green tea, very aromatic.. Feels like yuzu essential oil on the candle burner. Good for pillow spray. Suitable for aromatherapy..

I like any yuzu food, so I got this one. Not sure if it smells yuzu-like, but it definitely has a sour green note. Some comments mention smelling like sweat, and at some point I got it too, but somehow I still like it, maybe I'm biased toward the idea of this line and green tea and yuzu. Overall, I do find this flanker quite pleasant, but the OG is definitely more agreeable. (18/09/24) EDIT: There was a period when I couldn't stand the "sweatiness" and my skin was a bit sensitive to the product, so I stayed off it for a while. But recently, when I spray it on my clothes instead of my skin, it's actually really pleasant that I love catching a whiff of it! Also, putting it on clothes makes it last a lot longer. The herbaceous sour green note hasn't changed. And I don't know if I'm smelling tea, but it has a tea-like "roundness" if this makes sense. Overall, recently, it feels comforting but refreshing at the same time, and I really like it. So I've just changed my vote from "ok" to "like". (18/03/25)

This is a very fresh and tart scent. Not my taste, but it's interesting and refreshing. The opening smells a little jumbled, I get a honeyed sweetness for a moment, but that vanishes really quickly and leaves an absolutely non-sweet, cool scent behind. I must admit I'm not very familiar with yuzu as a fruit, I have only tried and enjoyed it in mixed drinks. But Green Tea Yuzu is definitely a citrus and tea scent. I also get green notes, almost like a fresh cucumber, and some unlisted woods. This could easily be unisex and is especially fitting for very hot days. The only other fragrance from the Green Tea line that I have tried on my skin so far was Pomegranate, and I like Yuzu better, even though Pomegranate sounded more interesting to me and I only tried Yuzu because I had a sample lying around. Still wouldn't buy this one for myself, but if you want an affordable freshie without sweet fruits, flowers or shampoo-like notes, it's absolutely worth a try.

I'm actually shocked at how good this one is. It reminds me a bit of Demeter's Daisy, but I like this better because it's more fresh, and it lasts better (yes, you read that right). This is a fresh, green, non-sweet, non-citrus scent. I don't know how it's not citrus with the Yuzu, but then again, I'm not really familiar with Yuzu. It just smells fresh, green, wholesome, clean, and good! Almost herbal, and I feel like I'm getting stems and leaves in this too. I can imagine this would be an ideal scent for meditating. But a lot of these EA Green Teas are like that! So different from other fresh scents. I could possibly see myself getting a bottle of this at some point, though I'm not sure how much I would wear it? Maybe in the morning for a workout, this would feel wholesome and natural. But that would be assuming I actually work out! haha

Smells incredibly similar to Green Tea Bamboo -- Bamboo leans more aquatic and floral in its opening and this leans more herbal and citric. The opening minute to this is absolutely divine, and then it settles into that very same 'waxy' floral that Green Tea Bamboo suffers from, but luckily, it's less prominent here than in Bamboo. The dry down is fine, and I'm pleased it's more herbal and aromatic here than in Bamboo, but not nearly as good as that realistic and zesty yuzu opening. For like $10 though, it's a keeper. My favorite citrus flanker in the Green Tea line. Lasts about 2 hours, less than the original Green Tea. ★★★☆☆

If you're looking for something to refresh yourself with regularly during the summertime, GT Yuzu is your fragrance. I own this perfume because a family friend was kind enough to gift it to me last Christmas. I currently wear it to the gym. This is a light, refreshing and energising fragrance. On my skin, GT Yuzu is a blend of the sweet yuzu accord combined with the aromatic and soapy green tea. A very linear scent. The major downside to this perfume is that it only lasts for 2-3 hours and sillage is pretty much non-existent. I definitely wouldn't repurchase this.

I bought this because I love anything with yuzu in it. My previous Green Tea scent was Lotus and the yuzu in it was so beautifully refreshing. Now Green Tea Yuzu is slightly different. Initially, its freshly mown grass then a sharp tartness. It smells like if you're on a freshly mown lawn, opening up a bag of dried mandarin peels from the traditional Chinese medical halls. It needs time to dry down before the green and tart parts of the scent comes together. Drydown is similar to Lotus, they both smell like Crabtree and Evelyn's Somerset Meadow.

A very interesting and likable summer fragrance. It's a bit soapy but not too much, the citrus notes are light and sweeter than usually, the tea and spices are perfectly dosed and it is actually very ozonic. However, the sillage and longevity are extremely weak. It reminds me of Avon body sprays. What doesn't remind me of them, is the price, 'tho! Whilst E.Arden fragrances are usually more affordable than most others, this one is overpriced.

Light and refreshing. The citrus is identifiable but oddly muted considering this is a Yuzu scent. I would have liked more Yuzu so it was distinctive as a note, not muddled with lemon. There's enough lemon in every other EA green tea. Of the recent green tea flankers this is my least favorite. The bamboo with its sappy reedy qualities and the fresh crisp cucumber are much better offerings, and I have owned all three.

25Y/F This bottle is special as my partner gifted me this, and I do enjoy this when I use it. However I would not purchase it again. This is a great "out of the shower" feel scent for scorching hot humid conditions in the middle of a busy day. This one lasts much longer on me than the original green tea, however I like the OG much more than this flanker.

A luscious green tea fragrance with an orangey-lemony top notes and a bit of mint. It's a delicious scent that adds a citrus element to green tea. Really wonderful, especially for the price. Wear this when you're not in the mood for anything else. Take it on vacation. Packs easily in the thin bottle that slides into a suitcase pocket for easy retrieval.

A sweet and fresh mix of light citrus notes and green tea. Green notes are dominant, it smells like something made out of leaves. It's subtle and sweet, the freshness is present, but it's not quite shower fresh. Likable, basic, everyday scent. Not bad, but too basic for me.

Beautiful but so short lived that it is almost a joke. This could not be ment to be even an eau de cologne. Perhaps a room scent? Sadly this is not for me, but obviously there are people out there that can live with this fast fading beauty.

Beautiful. Like a glass of lemonade on a hot summer afternoon in the South. Not very long lasting. Easily used the bottle up. Green, citrus, clean and fresh. Not sweet. Beautiful refreshing fragrance. More like a body spray.

Fresh and citrusy...this is a great, light scent...heavy on the lemon and what I guess is yuzu...tea notes are lighter in the one...priced right too...

Really can’t compare this to EA’s Green Tea. I love GT and I usually love the taste of yuzu flavour so I figured this would be a match made in heaven. Sorry no, this is something else. Would like it more if it smelled more yuzu citrus rather than actually smelling sourish, almost rancid. So after the first 20 min the weird sour smell is gone and the fragrance is okay. It’s just the opening that you’ll have to bare with.

I love this scent for the heart of summer in the city, or something to spray after the gym. Carry it in your bag to spray whenever you need a refresher. Longevity and sillage are abysmal. I do hope that I find something similar in scent with better lasting power.

Normally taking few risks with blind buying perfumes I was somehow sucked into purchasing this for about ten bucks at a discount store. Unfortunately, it was not a good gamble. As soon as I got it home and sprayed it onto my wrist the combination of the notes came off as simultaneously sickly sweet and bitter. I thought to myself, "Maybe it's just my skin chemistry." So, I sprayed it into the air in the hope that I could at least use it as a room freshener. It was still sickening. In the past I've had great success with these citruses and greens and so I remain perplexed. Alas, it just doesn't work.

My love of tea scents started with Bvlgari Au The Vert, and brought me to a number of other fragrances with tea (either as a note or a concept). This, somehow, is too much tea, if that's possible. This smells like sticking your nose into a bag of matcha powder--almost photorealistic, to me, but not in a good way. It is green, deeply vegetal, and a bit dirty. I should also note that I don't love EA's original green tea either, but have only put my nose on that and this one--and of the two, the original green tea is better. If you want to smell like matcha powder, though, this is your ticket.

GT Yuzu is on the bitter, green end of the GT spectrum. On me, it’s unpleasant into the dry down. Very sour, very herbal woo woo healing balm you’d find in a natural grocery store. Unfortunately (for me), it also projects quite a bit more than other GT flankers. I definitely have no interest in broadcasting this fragrance to my friends and coworkers, so it’s found a second life as a bathroom spray. It actually smells quite refreshing when it’s not literally on me.

I wanted to love this but it’s SOLID CAT URINE. I’m super disappointed because I love the green tea franchise and especially love real Yuzu. I have other yuzu-focussed fragrances and they’re lovely so I have no clue what went wrong here :-(

Maybe my batch was off, but this perfume smells like a mixture of rotten lemon and fish market masked by a veil of Green Tea perfume. Disappointing flanker of a beautiful set.

A very stale cup of room-temperature green tea with a squeeze of sweetened lemon left on the table for at least 2 hours with the bag inside.

I've been waiting for the spring months to fully wear this, and annoyingly enough, the rainshowers are stubborn. I've been wanting to sniff a fragrance that is fresh, sunny, and green. And I also love the scent of yuzu. This is a good Green Tea flanker that fits the bill. However, there is a note that smells like licorice to me upon the first spray, that I don't particularly care for. Settling down, everything is zingy and bright, and drydown is of the classic Green Tea. The yuzu lies in the shadow of the tea, but I've read somewhere that is difficult to capture yuzu's essence in scent, and is commonly mixed with other citruses. For myself, I would've preferred an additional kind of white or yellow floral (perhaps ylang-ylang, honeysuckle, jasmine) - to replace the "licorice." It would lend a sweeter, lightly indolic tone that I think would be heavenly for spring.

I must say, I truly LOVE this scent....I say scent rather than perfume because as lovely as the scent is, the perfume lasts no longer than the spray as you push down to spray it. I have never in my life seen a perfume that you literally can not smell other than as its being sprayed. The place I buy most of my perfumes gives samples and testers when you make a perfume or body care urchase. so this was my free sample...ad omg love at first sniff! so I literally turned back around not even home with my other purchase, so that I could go buy the actual bottle. I must say its beyond disappointing to have such a lovely smell last such a short while. I went through my 50ml bottle in less than a week. It pains me to say this but dobt waste the money!

Oh dear. EA's Green Tea Yuzu must be a magical fragrance...because it disappears the minute after it is applied! Green Tea Yuzu just came out and since a) I've been wanting to try tea scents lately and b) this was fairly reasonably-priced, I bought a bottle. Reminds me a bit of L'Occitane en Provence's original Thé Vert (which is discontinued, grrrr!). Same citrus/tea opening; however, the resemblance ends there. It goes into drydown mode immediately afterward. Typical "citrus aromatic", Green Tea Yuzu fades quickly. Still, even I -- someone who likes lighter scents, and okay with re-applying -- need a little more longevity. Yes, refreshing and sunny for all of a few minutes.

I learned that in the perfume world, usually you get what you pay for, but this was a pleasant surprise for a blind buy. I am very cautious in buying perfumes with a tea note in them because they don’t perform well on my skin but this one, this is beautiful, fresh and clean. It’s a soothing citrusy and herbal perfume, perfect for a daily wear, especially on hot days. Also great when you don’t want to spend too much on a fancy perfume brand. It performed really well on my skin in terms of sillage and longevity, same goes when I sprayed it on fabric. This may become my 2022 Summer signature fragrance!

This is an initially strong, very citrusy fragrance, that has an element of fruity bitterness in the top and middle notes which I quite like. I was gifted it and I enjoy wearing it a lot.! It would be ideal for hot hot climates as it is fresh and zingy and citrusy and fun! It is refreshing and cooling with a hint of unusual zest and herbage that I really adore - it’s got bergamot and thyme in it. It is certainly not for everyone-an acquired taste because of the bitterness that takes you by surprise, but I really really like it!

Hands down one of my all time favs!!! I got a 50 ml bottle at shoppers drug mart for close to 50 dollars! But this weekend i found a 100 ml bottle for 12.99 at tj maxx.the truly sad thing with this is that as soon as you spray it it is pretty much gone ya kinda have to bath in it lol hense the purchase for 12.99. As much as i love it i would never pay full retail EVER for it amd it really pains me to say that

I am surprised by the other reviews saying this has poor silage and longevity. This is quite strong on me, the citrus is a bit overwhelming for my taste. It smells bright and almost like a citrusy white wine. The green tea becomes more noticeable after a few hours when the strong citrus dies down. All in all, I like it after it dries down. It's a nice clean smell

Like you just plucked a melon from a field and sliced it open. More rind than flesh. It's definitely herbaceous. You know how some green teas taste like boiled grass? This is almost that scent. I reach for this when I'm in a botanical garden mood. Unfortunately, It's gone in 10 minutes and I cant even smell it on my clothes.

Out of all the Green Teas this one is at the bottom of my list.Doesn't make a connection. Those orange and lemon notes don't go with the Green tea.This is no for me, Could be refreshing. Is this the first citrus on the range? I couldn't make a connection with this one.

i love the dry down but hated the opening. longevity is quite nice on me. last longer in fabric. smelled like on overripe or about to rot citrus fruit. my friend described the opening like a dish sponge that's soaked in a dish washing liquid for days.

Not so nice, tried it in the airport, initially nice and citrusy (a bit mosquito repellent like...not so much like yuzu but like citronella), then it vanished at a record speed from the paper, and from my wrist. Nothing left after about one hour...

I got this on sale and I happened to have recently discovered yuzu at the time. It's quite sharp in the beginning - burn your nostrils type of sharp. I love the dry down though, so I spray it onto my clothing for a longer lasting scent.

Smells so refreshing. Again, the quality is great, but the problem with this line is always the longevity, I don't understand why they still can't fix it since this line is adored by a lot of people.

Got a 3.4 oz bottle from Marshall's. It's a light clean scent. Even though it's not a note or any floral, I smell freesia. The first hour reminded me of the Gap's Dream EDT from years ago.

Found the small bottle at Marshall's. I find this has the high pitch tartness of Green Tea Cherry Blossom and the ripe, "dirty" note of my favorite Green Tea Exotic.

I enjoy this perfume , light citrus and tea. reminds me of BBW White Tea and Ginger body mist. nice everyday scent , spring/summer.

I tested it and loved the smell but because it disappeared after 10 minutes in the store I didn't buy it.

Meh. I was expecting big things but no, this smells a little moldy and not very sparkling to me.

Cool as a cucumber and very uplifting, so good to apply when you are feeling a bit down.
