Melodie D'Altai

Melodie De L’Altai turned out to be a surprisingly cozy and languid fragrance for me. Based on the listed notes, I expected something much heavier and harsher, but the reality was a very pleasant surprise. The leather here is incredibly soft, I perceive it only faintly, especially in the base, where it doesn’t dominate but rather adds depth and a velvety texture. The scent feels very warm and enveloping, with a delicate sweetness from benzoin. There is also a subtle touch of boldness in the composition, most likely coming from saffron and whisky. However, these notes never feel overwhelming, instead, they beautifully highlight the depth of the fragrance. Overall, the composition is very smooth, rounded, and comfortable, like a warm touch on the skin. I bought this fragrance blind and, to be honest, I was worried it might be challenging or heavy to wear. Instead, I ended up with a “soft little kitten” 🥹 , incredibly pleasant, cozy, and alluring. A truly beautiful, warm, and genuinely comforting fragrance that feels like wearing a cashmere sweater. Adding a note on longevity: during the first hour, the fragrance has a very good projection. After that, it settles close to the skin, and I can only smell it when I bring my wrist close to my nose. However, I used just one spray. Most likely, if applied more generously and to the back of the neck, the scent would be much more noticeable.

I really love it. At first I did not like it. The first spray smelled like black rubber, but then... Wow! What a sexy sexy scent! A beautiful leather with amber in a feminine mix with resins. Subtle animalic and hard core sexy.

One of my favorite from the house ! Another well blended perfume from Sonia Constant ! Leathery , ambery with a hint of animalic note to remind a bit the horse hair of the plain of Mongolia ! 9.5/10 for me

As much as I like it, I cannot get my head around the link between Altai and this perfume. I have perfumes that are way stronger on (horse) leather and dust than Melodie d’Altai. Indeed there’s some smoked jam, a bit overcooked, but I feel is it made of boozy plum. There’s also a suede, in no way animalic as I would have loved it to be - no fur or heavily tanned, thick leather scent. The styrax reminds me of vanilla, the vetiver and the saffron are muting eachother, and the amber is rather a billowing ember (hence the rubber). It is a soft, warm, unisex perfume, fine for cold autumns, the plum dusting a bit the entire concoction. Longevity is spectacular, but sillage is moderate. This is more of a neigh than “a horde of Kazakhs galloping at full speed into the twilight”.

I really wanted to like this one. It smells so cute in the bottle. But on me it's very one note -- rubber when you spray then quickly just becomes overwhelming stench of basement. Maybe I would like it more without the scent association. But just brown dusty dank basement is all I get. Irrelevant story: I (erroneously) spray ELDO's eau de protection over it to see if the rose would brighten and it transformed into a sharp & high poop smell. So don't do that.

A sweet amber. Sweet vanilla amber with sweet vetiver. Styrax and cacao powder mixed in within the blend. Tiny leather and hints of saffron and cinnamon powder. The creator wrote "Animal instinct, An ambery, animal-like impulse savagely awakens a blend of saffron and styrax, leather and fur. Patchouli and vetiver trigger a primitive call to return to nature. The gentle violence of carnal pleasure freed from all constraints." I do see what the creator want us to see, more delicate animalic than savage. Cute and I believe it would be a hit for those who enjoys sweet slight animalic.

the description of the fragrance says it all. Opens with sharp and gritty leather rappresenting the harsh conditions of the nomad life in mongolia, on an absolutely incredible bed of benzoin, patchouly and saffron depicting the majestic views and vastness of this country. It is a bit Baccaratrougesque, but in a more vapourous way. It is one of the best discoveries i had this year, eternal staying on skin. Pity for the packaging which is rather simplistic and should be marketed more genderlessly. Incredibly wearable and refined fragrances from this brand.

There are definitely different types of leather scents in perfumery, rubbery, harsh cocain black leather, brown, suede... this is not one bit rubbery. This is smooth like the leather in Ombre Leather. Like a new car or couch. It’s sweet with a little thick feel of musk underneath but not at all animalic. Not one bit harsh. I was hoping for something more animalic and challenging. Not getting any blatant resins or amber. Just sweet smooth leather.

I love this one. The sexiest sweet ambery leather with some fruity breeze (that i dont know where it comes from??)...its an alluring sweet leather with a warm and sweet base that will appeal to anybody who loves fruity or sweet leather in fragrances. Unisex but on the sweet side. Projects well but isnt as long lasting on my skin. I would buy it, so far just a decant!

This starts hard. Like a candy. Hyperglycemic amber with strong styrax, fruity leather of orange marmalade and strawberries on a saffron carpet. It remains like this all the way through. Smoky. Rather listened to, strong,lasting, static and above all sweet. Too much.
