Myth

I first smelled this in a tester in a Sephora order and as soon as it hit my nose I loved it. I immediately thought "I'm going to wear this to work every day" and thought that it is the best clean/shower scent. Its not offensive in any way and literally is just clean. Its a classy corporate scent. Not boring, not complicated, kind of alluring. Definitely unisex, but I think it would be more appealing for a woman to wear instead. Yes it is a skin scent, but not like Not a Perfume by Juliette Has A Gun, you can actually smell this skin scent. Unfortunately it doesn't last that long on me. I haven't doused myself in it, but when I did it lasted around 4 hours. I'll try again with lotion or vaseline and spray a bit more and update when I can. Perfect for work and day time but I honestly think this has a lot of duality. Paired with a cologne would be perfect if you want something a bit more for corporate, the scent would easily pass off as 100% masculine. Florals for daytime, spices and wood for night time. I just don't know if this would pair well with particularly gourmand scents. Just scents that have mainly spice, wood, florals, aquatics and citrus. Pair this with any feminine scent in the categories I mentioned and it will lean 100% more feminine. Even though the lasting power is not great, I would buy it again. There is also a body oil in this scent on Sephora which seems great. If you need any work/fresh scent it's this.

Tried it at Sephora and it was extremely sheer and light that I sprayed 5 times (note that my nose is sensitive to smells and I dislike strong perfumes). I've been trying to find a nice clean, out of the shower smell like Clean Skin Reserve, so I tried this as recommended from tiktok. It did indeed smell like out of the shower, shampooey once I sprayed it. I could get whiffs of it whenever the fan would blow on me between the 1-3 hour mark. After about 4-5 hours, the drydown on my skin was slightly peppery, musky, and like a bar soap. I didn't like it, so I showered. BUT once I got out of the shower, the perfume on my hair smelt SO BEAUTIFUL. I kept grabbing my hair to smell it. Almost like a luxurious shampoo scent UGH. I think I'm definitely going to purchase this only for my hair, not for my skin because my body chemistry doesn't work well with it. Update: I purchased it but returned it because it gave me a headache. It’s too screechy and projects like crazy. I sprayed it in my room, and my grandma who was sitting in the living room (15 ft away) complained that my perfume was too strong. I found my new love perfume that replaces what this was suppose to be my “ethereal forest fairy” perfume, and that is diptyque’s eau rose edp. It’s slightly soapy but much more complex. If you don’t like the smell of roses, I’d say still give this a try because it changed my view on rose perfumes.

This is not a “girly-girl” clean fragrance, but a straight up clean scent. Shampooey, but not in a flirty or attention-grabbing way. To me it leans unisex or evokes a calm and maybe more introspective woman. It’s more serious than fun and playful, but there’s also a gentle fluidity to it (lol not the MFK fragrance), and the juice feels light and transparent. It gives off zen vibes or like you’re in a spa, but it also smells like freshly-laundered sheets with a few shavings of a triple-milled soap (so hotel vibes, too). In the notes there’s nothing outrightly gourmand about it, but there is an underlying sweetness, perhaps from the pink lotus and cassis, and they’re presented in this supple and dewy way. I feel confident when I wear this, and I love wearing it during colder or breezier evenings. I think it would also do well during rainy days. But it’s mostly an all-year signature scent. My only thing is, projection is strong within my own scent bubble, but no one else can seem to smell me no matter how much I spray on my skin. I still love it. An easy reach for me.

it smells very fresh and clean in the beginning, the quote on my free sample from Sephora “clean sheets bare skin, Myth is an intimate, stunning fragrance that invites you to lean a little closer.” is pretty accurate, its def giving clean girl, like fresh jasmine mixed with handsanitizer lol. will update on drydown 30min later: very faint skin scent already but i like it. this would be good to layer with a more “harsh” fragrance (like Good Girl caroline herrera for example) for balance and cleanliness vibes i feel. i do keep sniffing where i sprayed 3x on my forearm, its pleasant and inoffensive. smells like the shower after a mature woman does her 10 step shower routine. final thoughts: drydown hours later isnt much just slight pleasant clean smell. id say this is a great work/office perfume esp if ur not allowed to wear perfume cus ppl would believe u just showered lol

One of my daily driver scents! Soapy, clean, pretty, crisp. Opens on the sharp side but dries down into a cool, musky patchouli. To me, it feels like getting to an expensive boutique hotel on a hot day, cranking the air conditioner in your room to 60 degrees, and hopping into a cold shower with fancy bath products. As you get clean, you finally find relief from the heat, and you step out of the shower with wet hair into a cool, calm room. It's definitely on the simpler side, but simple is good sometimes. I get excellent lasting power on this, I'd say 6-8 hours on skin, and a day or two on clothes. Makes for a great layering combo with any other clean freshie if you want to bring out the soapiness from another fragrance. Also love to layer it with Salt from Ellis Brooklyn for a more beachy vibe.

If this was a color, it would be pearlescent white that shimmers pink when the light hits it. It's a clean white musk, but the bergamot and cedar here don't give it that sharpness that other similar fragrances have. Instead there's a whisper of floral that makes it a little feminine. Slightly reminds me of Clean Skin though definitely not a dupe. But both are more soft and feminine than fresh and bright on my skin. I don't really get any notes other than white musk and "soft floral." The citrus/wood/patchouli hide in the background, and I can't readily identify the floral as jasmine and orchid. I do really like this, and if I got a bottle I'd wear often to work and bed. But it's not worth it to buy a full bottle at this price

All the negative reviews here; I don’t get it. It’s a beautiful fragrance! I have a full bottle and the lotion too. It is very clean, out of the shower scent, perfect for everything and every day. I have so many complex and niche perfumes, deep scents, etc. in my collection and really nothing like this, so it definitely has it’s place. I feel clean and beautiful and put together when I wear it. It is a linear scent to me. What I get is soft musk, citrus and light florals. I don’t get any of the “perfume reminds me of this” as listed here. I am not sure what it reminds me of. It is strong for the first 2 hours then settles down and becomes a skin scent. I get compliments when I wear it.

I only tried this on because I liked the sleek bottle lol. So glad I did! This is a very pretty scent that smells quite lux. It’s a balanced clean fragrance. Like the cleanest little elf in a forest. It’s not as sharp/laundry as 11 11 and not as sweet or salty as Clean Reserve Skin. Not too young, not too old. Not too warm or cold. I’m not usually a powder fan and this is powdery but it has a subtle earthiness (cedar and the teeniest patchouli) that grounds it too. I think it’d be lovely combined with citrus/green/woody frags to add some musky fluff. Casual day time scent, any season. Could be signature if you just want to smell nice and clean! A+ Lasts forever on clothes too.

WOW. I NEED a full bottle of this. Soft, musky, enticing, enigmatic... one of those scents I just keep lifting my wrist up to my nose to smell it over and over again. Definitely in the same vein as JHAG Not a Perfume to me. It's sexy and a little bit sweet in the most seductive way possible. Love at first sniff, and all the sniffs after. I've seen this described as a "hospital" scent and it's so funny to me because I know exactly what they mean. I even agree a little bit. So WHY do I find it SO beautiful?? Something about it is just ADDICTIVE to me. (edit: I would NOT recommend buying the body oil, the scent is definitely not the same 😭 it smells a bit stale in comparison.)

Smells exactly like a bar of fancy expensive soap to me. But I personally like clean soapy scents so I don’t consider that a bad thing! I honestly don’t think someone would identify this as a “perfume” if they smelled it on me, it just smells like I just got out of the shower, or maybe took a soak with some nice bubble bath. It’s a clean crisp floral scent with some herbal notes. Leans more unisex, maybe still slightly feminine because of the florals (but definitely not over-the-top sweet or girly). If you like MM Replica Bubble Bath, I can almost guarantee you will LOVE this. I’m going to be getting a LOT of use out of this at work.

This scent, I hold dear to my heart. I received a sample about 6 years ago and wore it sparingly as it was just too far out of my price range to justify a full bottle. By some miracle I was able to purchase it on sale- I still wore it sparingly, but my goodness was incredible- my old bottle definitely smelt much different than my newest one, I think because it was almost 5 years old the scent profile seemed to change, it still smells incredible, but I don’t get the deep intoxicating - what I thought was tuberose- smell in the new bottle yet. I let it sit but I do use it on the weekends when I’m home with my husband- he loves it.

Lovely, sexy, fresh. Maybe it's a body chemistry thing but some of these reviews are the exact opposite of my experience because on me, this smells youthful. It reminds me of a warm spring day lounging in the sun on the campus green, back in my college days. Jasmine and musk make one of my favorite combinations in fragrances, and they shine together here. The bergamot and cassis lend some crisp fresh nuances and the patchouli is faint but provides an anchor that helps this beauty with longevity. This is my first Ellis Brooklyn frag, and I will definitely be checking out more.

A really nice clean musk. Shampoo-esque, but not at all fruity. Myth is classic and sophisticated, like the scent of your rich, beautiful aunt who wears timeless clothes, never sweats, and only uses the most expensive body care products. It has good longevity for me too, especially on clothes, and layers well with other scents. I can detect the patchouli, though, which does bother me a little at times as someone with an aversion to it. I don't think Ellis Brooklyn does flankers, but if they ever released a patchouli-less version of this, I'd probably be obsessed with it.

This smells very perfumy in the opening. I agree with the other commenters. This absolutely smells like an expensive soap and I absolutely can't get enough. This lasts quite a while on my skin and clothes. What prompted me to buy a full bottle is how it smelled on my clothes. I sprayed myself with the travel sized bottle that I have before work, thinking it would disappear during the day. It did not! And during the work day it warmed up. I kept getting wafts of a warm, twinkling lived-in musky smell and I love it.

MY FAV FRAG EVERRRR PLS NEVER CHANGE OR DISCONTINUE its so freaking calming and clean and enchanting to me everyone always says i smell good and i ask what i smell like and they say they cant put their finger on it but clean and good lol and very inoffensive i wear one spray and can refresh throughout day but it literally is strong its just the notes arent always recognizable to people as perfume its so ethereal and the name fits perfectly 12/10 okay thanks

I love this so much. Mostly because it’s just so nostalgic (those born in the 90’s get it). It reminds me of when my mom used to prop me up on the bathroom counter next to her while id watch her do her makeup for work. It’s giving late 90’s career woman, and I’m into it. Myth is Powdery, a little lipsticky, soft florals with a nice touch of patchouli and musk. It actually smells unisex & fresh on me and could be signature day time.

I was pleasantly surprised by this scent—I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. It’s a beautiful floral musk and such an easy grab for everyday wear when you just want to feel fresh and clean. This wears as a close skin scent, subtle and understated. It’s not trying to do too much, which is exactly what I appreciate about it. Perfect for work, the gym, or any setting where you want something soft and effortless.

@Suxxen: you said this reminded you of your grand-father. This reminds me of my grand-mother so much! In the best way. But in the late 70s or early 80s in Paris. It’s been driving me crazy! Any idea what he might have worn that smelt like Myth does? To me, because of that, it smells like a chic woman’s expensive French soap and soft musky eau de toilette. But what? Let me know if it comes to you.

like perfumerism said, this smells like a fairy. specifically, a glittery fairy. stays close to skin but lasts forever, i've gotten many compliments. a bit sad because i can't smell it very well on myself but when i do its like sunshine coming through the leaves of trees. i feel like everyone would like it but tbh sometimes it smells like the inside of a banana peel when i first spray it idk.

Despise patchouli. Hate bergamot. And yet out of all of the perfumes I have tried, this one is the perfume that has made me react the MOST insanely. Oh my god. My mother took a whiff of it too and we both agreed that it’s one of the best ones in my collection. I’m gonna wait until I run low on the sample to really be sure I love it, but I am so excited to hopefully get a bigger bottle soon!!!

Was going through my collection and found a sample of Myth. It’s a cooler rainy day here and this just works so beautifully with the weather and the calmer tone. Myth is a fresh but classy, office safe, clean musky scent. With just a hint of sweetness it’s unisex maybe leaning slightly feminine. Reminds me of walking by someone’s house and knowing they’re doing laundry on a cool rainy day.

Crack cocaine in a bottle. When I wore this daily at the cosmetics boutique that I worked at, compliments practically stalked me. Musk is my kryptonite, and this one ? A total biological weapon. Think warm cotton, fluttery jasmine, and freshly showered skin with a provocative edge. How did I forget this gem ? It’s back in rotation for eternity. Unisex and dangerously attractive.

INSTANT LOVE. Imagine the mot beautiful shampoo ever created. Expensive, rich, lovely shampoo. Now turn that scent into a perfume that lasts for hours and hours...you've got Myth. It's clean, but not soapy..just fresh. It's just beautiful. I'm not great at picking out notes, but this perfume is one of the best I've smelled...possibly ever. It's fantastic.

I grew up in a Caribbean island, and this reminds me of nights in the front porch, hanging out while the adults told stories I definitely wasn't supposed to hear. There was jasmine growing in my grandma's garden and orange groves nearby. This smell is a direct trip to my childhood. The work fragrance that my students keep on stealing from my desk.

MYTH is a beautiful musky skin scent. It is somehow crisp and warm at the same time. The texture is airy but grounded. There is the tiniest bit of sweetness. It is intimate but lasts so long on my skin, and when I wear it to bed I can smell it on my clothes and blankets until I wash them. It is ethereal comfort in a bottle.

Clean, fresh and elegant. It’s a whisper on angels wings, clean without even trying. Ethereal I think, like another commenter stated, very much clean but unlike another clean you’ve ever smelled. Unearthly clean. Perfect on its own but when layered with Juliet has a gun “not a perfume” complete perfection.

Cozy, warm, a little sexy, clean, sorta soapy musk. Great for when I’m in the mood for something clean and soft. Since it’s clean and wears a little closer to the skin, I do often wear it to work (I’m an RN.) I’m a huge fan of a few of EB scents, particularly Sweet and Salt. This one has become FBW.

I seen the notes and already knew I was gonna LOVE IT. Such a beautiful light, nice floral and powdery smell(not like old lady powdery lol). I was surprised by the longevity on me, I got 6 hours from this perfume and my coworkers complimented me on this perfume ! 10/10 for me

Something about this reminds me of my grandma. In the best way. Specifically staying at her house and taking a bath when I was a kid. Maybe she had a soap that smelled like this? Insanely nostalgic. Instant love. Already finished my travel size and bought a bottle.

This is a beautiful musky floral that is clean without smelling like a shampoo. It smells expensive and classy. I just wish it lasted longer than a couple of hours. It is a great perfume for an office or hospital.

A little bummed about this one. I thought this would be a love, but it smells like shaving cream, or a sheer fougere. Maybe it's the cassis/patchouli. Edit: it's been a few days, and I really like it now!

I love this fragrance so much! I’ve had so many compliments on it over the years. Definitely a classic can wear everyday wear. It’s a musky clean scent that lasts moderately throughout the day.

I adore the scent, but I'm so disappointed by its lack of longevity! It dissipates from my skin after an hour or so. If it lasted longer, I would consider making this my signature scent.

This is a nice powdery musk. This can be worn in the evening or daily. This starts out with a strong projection and about hour it dries down a powdery skin scent. Love it!!

Myth immediately transported me back to the 1990s. From the first spray, I was reminded of the scent of Biolage hair products I used to love in my twenties. It’s amazing how fragrance can unlock memories, and this one took me down a very familiar road. The scent itself is beautifully clean and comforting. It has that fresh-from-the-shower quality without becoming sharp or headache-inducing. Instead, it’s a soft, soapy musk with a slightly powdery edge that feels effortless and easy to wear. What I enjoy most about Myth is how approachable it is. It smells polished, clean, and put-together, like freshly washed hair and skin rather than a traditional perfume. At the same time, the strong association with a specific time in my life makes me wonder if I want to revisit that scent profile every day. I own a travel size and think that’s the perfect amount for me. It’s lovely, nostalgic, and undeniably wearable, but not something I feel compelled to add as a full bottle. Sometimes a fragrance is best enjoyed as a fond memory you can revisit occasionally, and Myth fits that role beautifully.

The description and name of this fragrance are definitely misleading... it 100% smells like very very nice soapy shampoo and bubble bath. The scent is well blended and it’s quite hard to distinguish any individual note even while reading them, and it dries down to a clean, soapy, yet deliciously warm musk. I wouldn’t have expected to I like it as much as I do but I think it’s a great ‘clean girl scent’ in the best way. It isn’t particularly long-lasting but I find it very pleasing and comforting and absolutely love the drydown on skin as well. For some reason I’m addicted to spraying it today. This is not a scent that reminds me of nature or a season, but it’s a scent that I reach for when I want to feel classy and well put together. If this scent was a color, it would be a sheer white. I understand why some people find it boring, but I particularly love it when I’m in the right mood and am looking to buy when my sample runs out.

this is gorgeous for a gal with 40s and 50s vintage sensibilities but doesn't want to smell like her nan. this is what the boys in the diner smell as she skips past on her way to the jukebox, ponytail swaying. this was my first perfume! i received this as a 21st bday gift intended as my signature scent. it was a very gentle introduction to perfume- simple, inoffensive, didn't make me nauseas or cause headaches, and that suited me well. this one starts out super musky on me which i usually hate, but it's not overly heady or dusty. it dries down super sweet with a whisper of a suggestion of citrus. it's certainly not complex or exciting, but i think that lends itself to being versatile. not too distracting for work or uni; romantic and lovely enough for dates or a night out but also not weird to wear to a family dinner. it's like, fine! ya know?

I absolutely love the bright, clean, floral, slightly musky, delicate opening to Myth but most of the fragrance seems to disappear on me within a few minutes, leaving just a very faint ‘fresh out of the shower’ feel on my skin that I need to really press my nose into to smell. I do love that it doesn’t smell like washing powder which many of the ‘clean’ fragrances do (I think because of the aldehydes in them). I’m such a fan of Jérôme Epinette’s Byredo fragrances and so badly wanted this to be another winner, and just wish it lasted on me. I am going to get a travel size in spite of that as it’s a beautiful bedtime scent for when you want to smell lovely and fresh when you get between your clean white cotton sheets, but you don’t really need to smell it once you’ve fallen asleep.

This to me is not easy to wear and yet, there’s something about it that I like? I think? It’s clean smelling at first but depending on the weather/temperature outside, it can veer towards dirty b.o. (warm/hot/humid weather) OR towards floral and breezy/airy laundry drying in the sun outside (cold temperatures). Of course, it is how my skin responds to this fragrance. I’ve had it for several years now and I hardly ever spray it. It’s something I need to be in the mood for. The ambrette note is probably what bothers me the most. Though the musk and patchouli notes are also bothersome... I’d declutter it but my bottle has not that much left so I’ll probably just keep it or give it away... Definitely not a safe blind buy. And even when testing, the weather influences the outcome 😑
