WORTH AVENUE ELLIS BROOKLYN To me, this fragrance feels like Ellis Brooklyn’s version of the “BLUE” trend fresh, clean, and truly easy to like. I get a bright citrus opening, not zesty but with a touch of sweetness that feels “shower gel” style but in a polished way. As it dries down, I notice the woods coming through, even if the overall dna stays pretty consistent. It reminds me a lot of Y by YSL, but more refined, niche-leaning and remastered. I find it super versatile: great for daily wear, office, even the gym or casual outings. Performance feels solid, and I’m confident this will get compliments. Yes, I think the price is on the higher side but I believe the quality justifies it. I picked this out for my boyfriend and it’s such a keeper that I bought him a full bottle once he was close to using up the sample. It’s become his new favorite. I’d never heard of “lavender suede” and was a bit skeptical going in, but I’m sold now. I think it’s an ideal accord for men’s perfume—the suede facet tones down the screeching quality that lavender can take on, while the brightness of the lavender keeps the suede facet from feeling too suffocating. I definitely pick up the cardamom, and its use here is very reminiscent of its use in JPG’s Le Male Le Parfum. The dual cedars make for a nice woody drydown with some depth. This is unique enough to stand out from other colognes without reading at all offbeat or hipster.
