Lavender Milk Tea

Milky tea fragrances must be where my Dunning-Kruger comes out in full force. Surely it can't be THAT difficult to create a tea latte fragrance without notable downsides, but alas, my dedicated test of milk tea samples had a lot of duds. It's either not milky enough, or not tea-like enough, or the additional scent (like lavender) either underperforms or overpowers. Of the milky tea samples I tested from a variety of houses, Elysian's Lavender Milk Tea was the best and yet it is not without its problems. Shout out to HoB's London Fog as a close second! This was not my smartest full bottle decision after finishing the sample. It is definitely creamy enough and the lavender is lovely and balanced, not screechy or 'laundry lavender.' That being said, I would recommend this to people open to an oddball lavender option and not someone hunting for their holy grail milk tea. And for the price point, 'oddball lavender option' is a tough sell. If you are into very sweet and slightly odd gourmands that at least pretend to be fancy, Navitus does some wacky gourmands at nearly the same price point for double the milliliters, and their performance is better too.

So I have been on the hunt for the perfect London Fog for a while now and I will say that this did check boxes. It's a strong, milky black tea with lavender. It's not too aromatic. The milk softens it just how I prefer. I will continue to use this but I do not think I will get another bottle. FYI, if you are looking for a London Fog go for Lepus by Piper & Perro. It's warm, perfectly blended and has such a perfect latte feel it. It's like you're stepping into the most gorgeous cafe. The bergamot and vanilla bean absolutely sell it. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy LMT but the way the black tea opens in this? - so soft and creamy. Not to mention this brand is cheap?!?!! My hunt is complete.

Omg, believe me when I say this is the most comforting and calming fragrance I have ever had. the sweet floral Frangrance is perfect for any occasion, and combined with creamy milk and black tea, it's just perfection. The main note of lavender adds the calming effect which feels great and which we all need!!!!! It lasts all day and can be worn day and night. It has become my everyday fragrance so quick and I gotta stock up now before I'm out of it.

I was a little disappointed on first spray because it opened very floral and did not give the tea latte feeling I was hoping for. After the dry down it stayed really close to the skin but the smell is exactly what I hoped for- a beautiful sweet milky scent with just a touch of floral in the background like you made a black tea latte with a lavender syrup. I adore it

I loooove this perfume!!! I originally bought a sample and loved it so much that I requested a bottle for Christmas. It's a scent that I want to wear all the time and would hate to run out of. Floral gourmand describes this perfectly and lasts on skin and clothes quite long. Packaging is beautiful, as to be expected. Will repurchase.

It’s a beautiful blend of soft, milky floral notes, making it ideal for both work and a romantic dinner. The bottle design is fine, though there’s room for improvement. Unfortunately, the label’s adhesive is weak and tends to peel off. Would I buy it again? Yes.

This is YSL Libre’s softer, gentler little sister. I love it so much more than Libre though! Such a fresh, clean scent that reminds me of a classy woman wearing jeans and a crisp white button down.

Smells like lavender citrus black tea to me. Comforting and beautiful. I’ve been wearing it for over 6 hrs and it’s still smelling strong. Longevity is there, projection is weak.

Oooh I love this. Loving milky ambrette scents lately and am a fan of Blanche Bete as well! So comforting and cozy!

This scent is straight up cozy vibes! Like lavender + milky tea = soft, chill energy.

I confess I was disappointed when I first smelled this because I get no lavender or tea, the two notes I was most excited about. But then I couldn’t stop sniffing my wrist. Yet another fragrance that bamboozled me with its notes list but I still ended up loving. This is definitely a more floral fragrance, with the orange blossom and tuberose being more prominent than the lavender. I’m usually an hater of orange blossom, finding it to smell like grapes or sunscreen, but here it just adds to the creamy white floral composition. I don’t smell any tea, incense or spices really. Just a beautiful creamy clean floral that kind of reminds me of an expensive hair conditioner. For a comparison, I smelled Blanche Bête after smelling this and they do smell incredibly similar. Blanche Bête is more coconutty and is truly “beast mode” (and probably the only perfume I’d say that about so that’s saying something). It feels like you turned this up 20 notches; it’s thicker, creamier, stronger, longer lasting. That being said, I prefer Lavender Milk Tea. It feels clean and comforting, almost motherly, and doesn’t have that tropical coconut kind of lean (that I find such a juxtaposition with the strength of Blanche Bête - the scent is summery to me but at a strength I’d only want to wear in winter).

I was worried about this one as there are quite a few dislike ratings here. When I sprayed it, I first got a lot of woody oiliness/creaminess, and I thought it was sandalwood turned high up with vanilla. But I see that this pyramid accord does not have sandalwood. It must be the milk, ambrette, vanilla, etc. Then I get sweet lavender, orange blossom, making me think of Libre. It is not a dupe at all. But there is a facet to it that is similar, and I do like Libre. I don’t get tea unfortunately, thus, I am not sure it smells like lavender milk tea. Nonetheless, I do enjoy and like this fragrance—as long as I don’t expect the tea aspect of it. It’s fairly interesting and nice.

Not usually a big lavender fan but the other notes in this really piqued my interest. This is a beautiful, meditative, cosy scent!

A soft, comforting fragrance. But there's something in the background that makes me want to sneeze.

I was pretty excited about this in theory. I wanted something soft, cozy...and this is. But I am kind of underwhelmed. It's quite floral but in more of a traditional perfumery white floral, not a lavender floral. On my skin it's also coming across the slightest bit like plastic - like a doll. It seems to be well loved though, so if it's something you're interested in, get a sample. I don't think you'll be disgusted by it or anything - it was just kind of "meh" to me. If you are a floral lover, you might like it!

The notes sound yum but not long after the initial spray it settles very perfume-y. I get the lavender the most but the dry down vaguely reminds me of multiple designer perfumes. its ok.

It’s ok. Nothing special. It dries down to a clean cotton smell which was unexpected. So glad I didn’t blind buy this. I don’t get anything milky either. Just meh...

What a disappointment. Recently, I’ve been exploring tea-themed fragrances, and this one is nothing like what I’ve come to enjoy. Instead of the soothing lavender and tea notes I was hoping for, it gives off more of a Febreze or dryer sheet vibe. I had high hopes, but I’m relieved I only bought a decant and didn’t splurge on a full bottle for $175.

I'm happy I got this as a 1ml sample first, because I got NO tea from this. Lavender at first, and then it turned into what I can only describe as an overwhelming grape or purple note. Not lavender just....grape. Weird.

I'm so sad how bad this is on my skin. It opens with a lot of lavender. It is soft and laundry like. Then it turns rotten as it heats up on my skin. I think it's the cacao and incense. It made me sick to my stomach.

Very disappointed with this. I was sucked in by a targeted advertisement and it sounded perfect, but for me the scent overall falls flat and smells cheap. Not comforting at all, a bit aggravating actually.

No personality beyond the lavender. No depth, no projection. Very mature and cheap. The longer it sits, the worse it gets. It smells like an estate sale.

This smells like straight up white florals (maybe gardenia) and that’s all I smell. It’s overpowering and unpleasant, I don’t like it at all. Fortunately I bought a sample.

I purchased a sample of this because the notes looked amazing and I was really hoping for a creamy, cozy tea scent. I was expecting to get something possibly along the lines of Blanche Bete from Liquides Imaginaires because of the similarity of quite a few of the notes. And I was partially correct! This fragrance is essentially a hybrid of Blanche Bete and YSL's Libre (original EDP). Unfortunately I can't stand either of these fragrances so Lavender Milk Tea ended up being a hard pass for me. It opens with the screechy orange blossom and lavender combo of Libre and that dominates well into the life of the scent. It isn't really until the dry down that I started to get the musky/lactonic element of Blanche Bete that I personally find dreadful and stomach churning. I adore lactonic fragrances so I'm not sure why I have such a negative experience with that one, but Lavender Milk Tea has the same lactonic accord that bothers me in BB. If you enjoy either or both of the fragrances I mentioned, there's a good chance you'll enjoy this release from Elysian. Although if you already have them, I would honestly suggest just layering them because that's all this fragrance is.

This starts off a little masculine when you first put it on skin. It's nice, but non-descriptive. I can't really smell a Lavender Milk Tea. I don't get milk, but I do get lavender. It almost comes off cologne-y. As it dries down I start to get something floral. It's heavy floral and it's sweet. That's really all I get out of this once it dries down on skin. I think this collection has been the most dissapppointing for me because this scent has been so hyped and this collection sounded perfect for me, but none of them work for me. They don't smell like thier title and they turn weird on my skin. This is one I'd be willing to give another try, but I'm not sure how much that would change things. It has the same underlying weird tone that Strawberry Rose Milk Latte had - maybe its the milk I'm not sure. It's making me a little queasy smelling this - It's a scrubber for me.

I spent more money on a tiny sample of this than I wish, but the idea appealed to me so much. Unfortunately for me it's a milky Soapy floral that's not wholly terrible but like... veryyyyy much similar vibe to johnson's baby lotion/"baby fresh" type scent to me. maybe if the baby was like kinda into lavender and tuberose or some other white florals too lmao. A little headachey. Maybe it's the tonka that gives it a little more "perfumey" depth idk

Lavender Milk Tea was the first Elysian fragrance I truly fell in love with, the perfect balance of soothing, creamy lavender & fresh tea with a splash of milk & smoky incense undertones. Like all Elysian fragrances, you can pinpoint each note as it dries down, before combing to create a gorgeous composition. This one is definitely worth the hype.

Yuk I got a sample of this and I'm so glad I didn't blind buy. I don't get any lavender other than a quick blast of cheap toilet cleaner then I'm bombarded with migraine inducing hedione. Truly awful, no idea how this won awards

honestly i smell no tea in this perfume, but it is really pretty. to me it's a milky lavender scent which is nice and calming but i wish the black tea was stronger here. i can see myself using this to layer

I really enjoy this perfume! I see the comparison to YSL Libre, but this one is so much softer and more beautiful IMO. I really like this, and longevity is good, too.
