Moonpetals

I have been curious about this line for a while now so I (my husband did as a surprise) bought some samples and a decant of one of the fragrances. Let me just say the packaging is beautiful. Each fragrance comes with cards of lovely artwork (linage line only) that gives you a visual perspective of what the fragrance should smell like and what mood it is trying to create. Moonpetals does a good job representing the artwork for the perfume. It is very ethereal but in the postmodern sense. Very whipped creamy. As if the flower petals around you in a garden on a moonlight night magically became edible. Peaches and cream petals. The musky quality of this fragrance is almost edible but not in the absolute gourmand sense. No, this perfume is creating another world. There is an alchemist magic going on here. I don't know yet if this is FB worthy but the more I smell it the more I am falling under its spell. If you are expecting a prominent marine note don't, it isn't there at all. Or it comes off like moon dust. A touch dry, a touch salty but very underneath the whipped cream magic flower petals. This is a whipped, creamy ethereal magical garden. Moderate sillage, but good longevity. Also, I'm surprised that pink pepper is listed in the top notes. I just don't get it. This is a very creamy, musky violet fragrance. Finding a musky violet, almost impossible. Those that are ambroxan sensitive (I am) I do find it does pop in and out at times when I wore this but this perfume is so beautifully blended that I felt that the ambroxan was cloaked so the bothersome aspects of it were greatly minimized. At least they were for me. But I do prefer Black Gardenia and Fairest of them All and those I did buy in a larger size.

Has a dirty musky facet. Like someone who should shower but opted for powdery perfume instead. Or like a deodorant that has lost its battle.

Not really feeling the opening . I don't get the marine notes , but it seems like all I'm getting is a blast of powdery violets . But about 30mins in , I felt an odd , sickly feeling in my stomach that I've never experienced before smelling fragrances or even just in my lifetime . Had to scrub it up .

Powdery violets and orange blossom with a hint of fruitiness and something else that's just a little off. This smells like an older woman I know who uses nivea cream regularly and is a heavy smoker.

One of my favorites from the Lineage collection, it’s a beautiful floral with creamy coconut milk & whipped cream. The open is straight peaches & cream to me, which I love, but then you get subtle orange blossom undertones & a creamy jasmine note. As it dries down, the violet comes through and adds a little extra tart-sweetness, before ending with creamy ambrette & smooth sandalwood.

A beautiful and ethereal floral if only it projected and lasted. I can’t smell it on myself after ten sprays and ten minutes. Boo
