Ungaro Man

It's just a SILLY, yet FUN, FRESH scent that is EASY to LIKE and, perhaps, even LOVE! Fresh, clean, uninspired, unimaginative and baloney-caloney are good adjectives one may use when describing this fragrance. On the other hand, so too are terms like fresh, clean, refreshing, easy-to-wear and dumb-reach. Ungaro Man is so unlikable for those of us who enjoy the finer and more complex fragrances...yet, I reach for it quite often and just love it. So mock me if you wish. So why do I love this fragrance? Well, it smells great...it's versatile...unlikely to offend...and is dirt cheap. Remember that Paul McCartney tune titled, "Silly Love Songs?" Well, this is just one of those Silly Love Scents, so no need to analyze it...just go with the feeling. Ungaro Man is made for the dog days of Spring/Summer and versatile little scent when you're wanting to smell fresh & clean, but you're wanting something other than a citrus-aromatic. Aromatic-mint, and some mild light-leather and cedar tones are what I get out of this fragrance. It won't win any awards, but I find it easy to wear and great for the office and for casual use. Performance is a bit lackluster in that it lasts 5-6 hours and projects moderately and stays a close to my skin after the first hour. But that's just fine for this kind of scent when it's balls-hot outdoors and you're not wanting to be gag on your fragrance.

The reviews here all seem to claim that Ungaro Man is a safe, masculine fragrance; nothing ground-breaking but not bad by any stretch of the imagination. I have to agree. The tobacco dominates Ungaro man once it settles on the skin for a while but I also have to agree with Gypsy Parfumista I feel like there should be more than three notes in there but my nose isn't the most experienced so who knows, I feel like there's some more herbs and citrus in there than the list says but I'm not sure what yet. I will need to wear it a few more times to be sure. Ungaro was a great $15 blind buy at my local Marshalls. The reviewers here seem to have it listed as a Summer/Spring fragrance but I'd disagree I think the tobacco notes would be more at home in the Fall/Winter; potentially as a going out fragrance but the downside is you won't be overpowering anyone. It's easier for me to do here on the East Coast because we're not cologne nuts over here haha! Sillage and longevity are nothing to write home about, maybe four or five hours maximum, but for what I paid for it for a 3.4 oz I will just re-apply. All in all I'd give Ungaro Man a 7/10!

Many reasons to love this one. First of all it's a very subtil perfectly balanced soft floral, aromatic fragrance. Follows with a very light but smellable sweet touch that will enchant your nose times to times for hours when used as what it is; an eau de toilette. Extremely class but not poshy. Soft & fresh but nothing cheap nor usual. I very happily can't smell any tobacco notes. Who would want to smell like a stinking ashtray! I guess those green plant notes are well mixed with others to give this brilliant result. Have you noticed companies & shops love to stop selling good stuff to sell new & usually bad stuff instead! No idea what's the idea behind this buy bad stuff philosophy. I would suggest you to give this Ungaro a try unless you like heavy oriental sugar smells. I bet you will not be deceived.

I love this scent. It doesn't smell similar to Givenchy pour homme as people have noted. In fact it's quite unique with tobacco and basil making it smell like green tobacco which in my opinion is manly yet youthful. It's a great cheap fragrance that I will use frequently for summer. The longevity and sillage are bad unfortunately still it's a great blind buy as this smells the best among the 70+ bottles that I have used. Ungaro if you're reading, please don't ever think of discontinuing this scent.

بوی خیلی خوبی داره تنباکو خالص ولی برای حداکثر 2 ساعت.بعد از اون دیگه رو پوستم احساسش نکردم..بازم میگم رو پوست من اینطوری بود.بنظر من اصلا هم پخش بو نداره حتی 1/10.باز رو خودتون تستش کنین

Beautiful scent. Wish I bought a bigger bottle than my 30ml. If it only lasted longer it would be perfect.

A very nice cologne for both summer and winter, a lot similar to Givenchy Blue Label.

I bought the 150 ml body wash blind and find it works with just about any mens cologne. This lead me to search the fragrance out, and I'm glad I did... This smells like much more than just three notes to me. The top is sharp, green and fresh; but I detect a bit more than just basil (perhaps some tarragon or chamomile as well). The heart has a wonderful tobacco smell that gives it an elegant earthy smell but remains tinted green from the opening notes. Hints of vetiver here and there...? The drydown is warm and woody with a clean cedar. This is very masculine and modern, but not too light or fresh. It has a very nice sillage, but is overall quite subtle and lasts most of the day on me. This is a minmalist cologne for sure-but one worth having in my opinion (as is true with most Ungaros). Great for day or night, and this just says "nice" in no uncertain terms...without too much hoopla or complexity. Sillage: nice then closer Longevity: above average Overall: 3.5/5 I never heard of Emanuel Ungaro until Avon released the "U" for Him and Her, but since finding out about him and his perfumes want to smell many, many more. Apparition is awesome and his scents say Manly, Modern and Mediterranean...

This Ungaro fragrance for men is not as popular as were the Ungaro fragrances on the 90s, but is very nice. It is a fresh woody fragrance, ideal for use in summer and spring. I'm surprised it has not listed any citrus note because at least my perception is that if one smells a little citrus. For some moments reminded me to Dior Homme Cologne 2013, for this reason it makes me even more rare not to find any notes as bergamot or lime. What it comes list and smell is basil which gives a slightly spicy and Mediterranean touch, the tobacco is not very strong, but this very well mixed as it reaches for a masculine touch with cedar oil. To be preferably used during the day, and although it makes me like several others that have already smelled, I think a good alternative to fresh fragrances as its price is lower than many others on the market and hardly last. This also has low average longevity, but it is cheap.

Scent: 8/10 Value: 7/10 Longevity: 4/10 Sillage: 3/10 Versatility: 10/10 Dang... just dang... If this one lasted, it would be an automatic classic staple. The opening is fresh, masculine, and clean. The dry down loses a little fresh, but man IT IS some kind of good. This is blind buy safe. The value is impressive due to the $20 per 100ml price. The longevity is where this loses its greatness. You will have to go heavy on the trigger, and you will still want more in an hour. Sillage and projection are lacking as well. I must say, however, the classy cleanliness of the scent makes this one worth it. My lady can be sooooo picky, and she loves this. She thinks it's fresh and manly and I agree. For the love of God, please make this last Ungaro.

So i got my hands on sample of this and really liked it, so I ordered whole bottle - 90ml for 15€. For me, this stands exactly between Lanvin Eclat Darpege pour Homme and BVLGARI pour Homme. It is not so discrete and formal like BVLGARI, and same time it is not as sweet and feminine as Lanvin. Personally, it is very hard for me to like "fresh" frags, most of them appear to smell very cheap to me. This is not the case. After testing sample, I couldnt believe it is so cheap actually. Great fresh frag for everyday use, 7,5/10. Do I regret buy? no. Would I repeat buy? yes. What might be only problem with this? longetivity. Does it smell adequate to its price? No, it smells WAY better, 35€+. For that price, give it a try boys.

I could hardly identify the scent profile at first since it's very soft and restrained. It's a nice scent overall that goes in the same vein as Givenchy PH Red and Blue labels and Thallium PH, though not nearly as good quality as Givenchy but it's quite safe and inoffensive. A bit mature too. Affordable price point but I don't like the bottle design and the sprayer is that of a toilet air freshner as it it sprays fine mist. It's an alright fragrance. A 8/10 at best, if not less but not not memorable.

what a shame. I really loved the blend of green with musky. It isn't too much of one or the other. Quite creative and unique scent to make basil and tobacco. I was hoping it would last on my skin for a long time at least with a long tobacco/ musky dry down. the green top notes stopped projecting after about an hour and a half then became a skin scent. It's not worth buying for me because of the performance but I like the blend enough to wear it if I had it for free.

To my nose this is equal parts gucci by gucci and issey sport. Slightly deodorant ish in the mid, but in general I like it. Sillage and longevity seem better than gucci by gucci after one wearing.

A soft scent that sits close to the skin. Perfect for the office. Manly and clean. totally inoffensive. Performance, however, is poor on my skin requiring multiple reapplies throughout the day.

Very crisp tobacco scent, has a fresh out of showerness to it. Not Ungaro's best, but worth picking up if you see in discount bin!

I bought this primarily because I felt it would be somewhat unique in my collection plus it's affordable. However, I think this smells pretty cheap too. This is a fragrance I could keep in my car and not think twice about it, and that was on my mind when I bought it. I see some have compared to Starwalker (EDIT: actually, it was Versace Eau Fraiche which is often compared to Starwalker), but, after comparing side-by-side, I think Starwalker smells much better.

Nose Note #229 The notes are either wrong or misleading. This a typical mens summer scent. It's not like Versace Man Eau Fraiche. Versace is special, here it just doesn't feel like anything special. A little bitter at first, but quickly becomes sweet, plain and doesn't last. The smell is just OK. The performance is not OK

What a waste of money... I blind buy it and I regret to spend the money on this generic lake of performance perfume. Its pleasent I admit but not a groundbreaking or a complement getter. I went crazy on the sprays and guess what....! I smell nothing as if you are watering your plants. Luckily it was around 15$ for 90ml but I could bought something better.

it's like a lighter or summer version of gucci pour homme..discreet/weak..nice scent but nothing special..the bottle is ugly..bad half copy of 212 carolina herrera's bottles..with a huge useless piece of plastic as lid. 4/10
