Signor Vivara

this was a lucky find in a little store some times ago. it is very strong and we are talking about an eau de cologne(the modern releases are babies compared to this)! signor vivara is a gem from another age and reminds me a lot vintage kouros but it's only my humble opinion. the leather and most of all animalic notes are very prominent to my nose. i think it's hard to wear nowadays but it's good to have in a collection. profumo di altri tempi scent:7,5 sillage:8 longevity:9 versatility: 6 bottle:8 uniqueness:8 my vote:8 in one word: heavy alternative- ysl kouros

Vivara seems to add to the familiar dark fougère masculine blend some horseradish, some nasty herb, very distinctive, which might give the impression the scent is unusual, but for me it’s just the dominance of a dried flower — some chamomile or something — imposed on a timeworn compositional base, a framework. There’s a lot here of that same spice-driven foolishness of Yatagan, Ted Lapidus — you can sense the lack of control. And that lack of control is, paradoxically, meant to suggest leather. It’s a sad direction for a leather composition; unfortunately, it’s just another “different Flannel” — you might imagine it as leather, but I immediately smell a chaos of spices, very discouraging and irritating. And yet after a moment something unique emerges — this bouquet has an exotic, wonderful proposition.

Yes, it's a leather scent in the Knize Ten mold, though less oriental/powdery than KT becomes, and not as powerful up front (though it's an EdC). If you found the KT EdT of about ten years ago too strong or powdery, this one is worth trying.

Anyone have information as to where one might find this discontinued beauty?
