Rue de Varenne

The notes here on Fragrantica aren't quite right. The official notes I got from Emma herself are: Top: lily of the valley, pear Heart: orange blossom, white musk Base: white/light suede, vanilla, patchouli So NO coffee or chocolate. --- The pear is very prominent at the beginning. The orange blossom is soft and lingering in the background the entire time from heart to base. The suede is smooth and together with the vanilla it keeps the patchouli clean and light. No dirt at all. Perfect as a day scent. This is one of my all time best cozy scents. It's like a blanket of happiness, wellness and and relaxation. I get a lot of compliments when I wear this, especially from men. This has a given place in my collection and I like to use it whenever I feel down, "just want to smell good" or when I'm flirty. I believe anyone at any age could pull this off.

The notes listed here are totally wrong as some people have already pointed out. On me it opens with sweet white flowers and a hint of pear. You can detect the vanilla but it isn't cloying or too sweet, it's just a soft touch. I didn't really have any idea of what light suede would smell like in a perfume when I first bought this, but it is absolutely gorgeous and comforting. I would describe this whole scent as comforting, the smell of early Swedish summer. You are sitting on the porch on a suede couch, wrapped in a blanket and the evening is getting a bit chilly as all the flowers are releasing their scents. This has become my siganture scent and is the one perfume I have gotten the most compliments for.

This is such a pleasant surprise! It smells very French, in the best way possible. You definitely get the pear, suede and lily of the valley. The spillage is intimate and longevity not the best, but it is an edt so you can’t really complain about it. I definitely get the association others have said about this being a perfect cashmere sweater type of scent. Such a gem!

I was surprised that it contains coffee, no such note was detected when sniffing. I have problems with coffeesmelling perfumes. Anyway, i like this piece a lot and thinking about repurchase in a short while. The pear, musk and lily of the valley combined with vanilla and suede, a fresh, floral gem.10/10

Very nice, clean scent. I work in an office and I usually wear it to work. Smells like you justed got out of the shower.
