Cambridge Knight

Finally on Fragrantica! I've been waiting to sing this one's praises. As always with English Laundry, great presentation. The metallic red and gold look classy and classic. Opens with a sharp musk. A little off putting actually. Give it about five minutes. Citruses, black currant , bay leaf and lily enter the fold making it a somewhat fruity, powdery and spicy musk. Extremely clean smelling. A tiny bit floral. It stays this way for some time until the woods round out the back half, cedar dominant. Some oakmoss and patch but subdued. I guess it has an aquatic accord but I don't particularly perceive it. It's hard to really describe this one. I haven't smelled anything quite like it and it's blended so well that the individual notes are more players in an orchestra, the musk the conductor. Divinity. Absolutely great scent. I'm floored every time I wear this one. I typically smell it on myself the next day and especially on clothes. Sillage is pretty great as well. It's not knocking people in the next room out but that's not it's intention. This is a gentleman that commands attention rather than screams for it. This is easily my most complimented fragrance and for good reason. Easy to wear for all ages and situations. No seasonal hang ups either. Stellar job English Laundry!

Very enjoyable and youthful warm weather fragrance, an aquatic, marine scent filled with fresh spicy citruses of very bright grapefruit and black currant, also with beautiful florals at the top. The scent dries down and settles to more thicker notes of oakmoss, musk, patchouli and woodsy nuances, but the scent always remain refreshing, almost sour apple fruity with a little cooling watery effect, giving you a clean feeling. Yes Cambridge Knight have quite strong similarities to Invictus, Invictus Aqua by Paco Rabanne and Legend Spirit by Mont Blanc, but it is not as salty or sour, to me it is more grown up version of those mentioned but with more classy nuance because of strong oakmoss and black currant. I enjoy Cambridge Knight a lot, because it is very easy to wear and it is also simply enjoyable in the warm weather, very versatile and great compliment getter. Performance wise it is just up to average, it projects great while it lasts, but it does not last very long, specially on clothes which is very interesting. I've been hearing about English laundry I checked out the Oxford blue it was great and I want that one. I seen a little sample pack of four small bottles of English laundry for 20 bucks then I saw a 100 ml bottle of Cambridge Knight for 12.99 I smelled it and was absolutely blown away. It is sweet and fruity at the very top while at the same time being fresh and aquatic. It's a Swiss army knife fragrance meaning you can use this whenever however unfortunately the one that I picked up has an atomizer that doesn't work and it did on the other ones. Whatever I'll make it work this thing is awesome the dry down tends to mature a bit with a type of oud note going on. It's subtle but it's there. This has a little above average performance and projects pretty good for several hours. Super easy to like this fragrance it is a steal for the price they have these at the rack stores. And it doesn't smell cheap at all. Highly recommended.

Very nice warm and sensual scent. It’s my favorite from English Laundry. Would make an ideal signature scent. At first I thought it was kinda soapy and weird but then the drydown hit and I was blown away! Very magical scent! I don’t think it smells anything like any of the invictus lineup. It has way more character and class. This is what the ideal gentleman would smell like! I got lucky getting a tester of this and it’s the strongest unreformulated version. Paid about 30 bucks. Well worth it. Lasts a full day of wearing. I also grabbed a reformulated version from Burlington for 13 bucks that I will use it as a refresher to the edp. It’s essentially an edt of the original.... I truly wish English Landry would go back to their previous strengths. They make such nice scents! But over time they will become irrelevant because a half hour frag is just not worth my time.... 9.5/10 scent.

I used to get sample sprays of the original 2016 Invictus Aqua pretty often when I worked at a nice restaurant in a mall. This stuff is really close to how I remember the first Aqua being. It's missing the ambergris note from Aqua but replaces it with musk, and it's slightly less sweet, but it ends up being functionally the same thing with the same longevity. I get 4-5 hours of longevity with about 1.5-2 hours of projection, but it's good enough I spray it a few times throughout the day. My bottle was a gift, but I've heard it can be bought for under $15 at TJ Maxx, but it's not available at my location lol. Of course you can pay as much as you want for it online. I've smelled a couple other English Laundry fragrances from my friend who gave this to me, Notting Hill is my other favorite from the brand. Absolute steal for under $15 if you can find it!

My favorite by far of the many fragrances in the English Laundry house. Went through a 1oz sampler and re-ordered the giant set in Macy's gift box. The zesty alcohol opening of a barbershop cologne with an herbal juniper middle and a woody floral drydown. Super versatile, light and clean. Don't get any of the acquatic vibe though. This is my go-to scent if I'm getting out of the shower in the morning for some quick chores around the house or errands around town. Sadly its weak as heck. 30 minutes projection and 120 minutes on skin. While it lasts its amazing though. My girlfriend's current favorite of the "clean smelling" section of the collection. 9/10 fragrance 4/10 projection/longevity 7/10 overall

Cambridge Knight is a great warm weather fragrance for going out in the day or night time. It is a slightly sweet fruity aquatic with a woody base. I have been wearing this for the last week, my partner loves it! The first time she smelled me from a floor below and came upstairs to tell me how good it smelled. Too bad 2 hours later and it has disappeared! Even on clothes, this scent can hardly be detected after 4 or 5 hours. I also have Notting Hill and Windsor from English Laundry (EL) and they perform a lot better (+2 hours on skin and clothes). Cambridge Knight reminds me of Versace Dylan Blue without the incense. Excellent budget fragrance for short outings!

Yes, it’s the same type of scent as Invictus Aqua, but not the same exact scent. Similar. Here is the thing, this one lasts and projects better than the decant I have of the original invictus Aqua. I have not smell the new Invictus Aqua so I can’t compare. This one lasts easily more than 12 hours on my skin!. One of the longest lasting scents I have so far. Add to that, that you can get it for as low as $12 for the big bottle, and you do the math. I thought Náutica Voyage was the best bang for the buck you can get in the market, but this one beats it. Advice: careful on the application, this one is potent. Not heavy, potent!.

Sweet currants and grapefruit on the top, aquatics in the middle, musk is clean. Fun, youthful, and energetic. I see a lot of reviews about reformulation. I believe I have the older version because I get extreme longevity. The clothing sprayed with it will still have a scent when it's time to do laundry. It can also transfer to people you hug (according to my wife). She LOVES this fragrance but isn't jazzed about smelling it on herself the rest of the evening. Makes me think it would be great for date nights because the lucky lady will be smelling Cambridge Knight long after you've gone home.

After using this fragrance for the past year and having invictus aqua,rasasi hawas mont blanc legend spirit and dunhill icon racing,i would say that Cambridge knight is better than them all,its a mixture of them all but fresher and longer lasting,Cambridge knight is my signature scent and for 14.99 its the best cheaper but goodie ever!!!!my advice dont pay the stupid high prices people are asking for invictus aqua when u can get this way cheaper and its better than them all.......peace

It's one of my top two favorites from this line. It smells amazing. CAUTION: When i first smelled it, i mean the first spray, it was offputting and i didn't like it. I gave it 5 minutes, bought the bottle, and never looked back. After that even the first srpay i don't smell what i did the first time and i don't know why. It lasts a decent amount of time and it smells amazing very clean and ready for the summer. Its a safe blind buy. I got it at marshals for 12.99 opened bottle.

Oh I'm definitely going to fawn over this because it is freaking good Perfume!!! theres no doubt about that.....I've just recently stumbled upon this brand and it makes very good varieties Of fragrances and this is one of their best ones in my opinion..And that's my nose my olfactory system...And I think it's great that we have Thousands upon thousands of reviews to research upon!!!!! it's better than not having them At all!! ciao !!

I think there are different types out there. I have the much clears/see through bottle and performance and longevity are very poor. I use it for home out the shower because i love the smell and i don't need a bomb and it goes away by the time i go to sleep. It was cheap but if i could go back i wouldn't have gotten it. Its not worth the money. I would not get it, although i really love the scent i am not that upset for 12.99

This evokes the imagery of a crisp, cool and foggy fall morning in the mountains of North Carolina. With the combination of all of the listed notes - very simply...I get almost a sweet...apple spice vibe if I don't think too much about it. Having this fragrance on and drinking a cup of coffee or tea would pair great together. It's very comforting, soothing, and sophisticated. It's nothing a bad guy would wear.

I am so hooked into English Laundry fragrances, all of them are pretty damn good, better than a lot of other designer fragrances. This one however is my favorite so far, the opening is marvellous and it projects incredible with stellar performance on my skin. My wife doesn't approve a lot of my fragrances but she feel in love with this one. I'd say blind buy worthy. For less than 50 you can't go wrong

English Laundry - on par with john varvatos scents, but lasts longer. Cambridge Knight is a fantastic masculine that performs great. This has a classic vibe about it, with woods and citrus, but does not smell dated at all. If you are looking for a house that does it right, look no further than English Laundry. You can't go wrong! Now if we could get windsor in the database... 6/10

Absolutely beautiful fragrance that needs to be spoken of more. This fragrance smells a lot like the new invictus aqua 2018 version, but in my opinion performs so much better. Its a sophisticated invictus aqua and smoother. You can really smell the grapefruit, black current and in my opinion the violet leaf as well. Highly recommend this fragrance A+.

A Very warm and comforting scent with almost a fruity undertone, smells almost like laundry in a sense, extremely nice and is appropriate for almost all seasons, i even think winter, not too strong, it is decently long lasting as well and is very good for its price, my personal favorite and is worth adding to you collection.

This was a blind buy for me after reading several reviews and also because I was actually born in Cambridge and I thought it would be cool own a scent with that association. I have to say it's very pleasant - an aquatic blue (despite the red bottle), bubblegummy type of juice. Maybe not quite in my top ten but not far off.

Very versatile!! This is worth the cheap price point and i think it's great for people who wanna smell good for cheap. dark and mysterious smell. something i would imagine a vampire would wear lmao. very woody and citrusy with a nice spicyness to it. sharp citrus tho.

My most complimented scent so far but careful this is very strong stuff. One spray only. "are you wearing cologne?" "yes" "wow it's really strong, I think you put on too much" "oh yeah, sorry, I'm about to wash some off" "but It smells great though, I really like it"

I don't get the reminds me of section, this don't remind me of anything in the Invictus line. This has its own fresh scent. Very nice. Office type scent. Longevity not the best, just pack it with you and re-spray as needed. Its cheap.

Love this juice. Just bought a backup bottle. I found this at Gordmans for $12.00 probably the best value I have ever stumbled upon. I also bought two bottles of Notting Hill for the same price. Unbelievable!

Words of advice u can find this at tjmaxx for 14.99 if u buy online u gonna pay 40 and better but honestly it's still worth it,but check tjmaxx u will find all English laundry fragrances there

My everyday go-to. Utterly inoffensive, versatile, and affordable. Sweet and masculine; evokes the je ne sais quoi of a charming European boy who shows you around his cobblestoned hometown.

I always come back to this suprised because it just keeps improving, the maceration process with this has been ultimate. It's definitely in the ballpark of invictus or wanted EDT however it's got this sorta darkness that I love. I truly don't appreciate this fragrance enough so I think now is the time to start. For starters, it's incredibly affordable ranging from $13 - $25 so thats a plus. It's designer quality and is a fantastic dumb reach, not to mention it's super versatile. It's clean, fruity and a tad citrusy. I will say, blackcurrant may be a new favorite note if thats that dark, heavy and very sexy smooth scent im picking up from this. Definitely check this out if you want a fresh but not too light frag.

I have a sample of this, and I've been wanting it for a while! It's got a very nice fruity vibe, one that isn't very generic and tends to differentiate itself from everything else I have smelled. It isn't listed here, but it builds to this granny apple vibe I get from it. To me, it's like that nice slightly sour and very juicy apple mixed in with a very pleasant and earthy/spicy base. It smells really unique, and though it is sweet I don't personally get the Invictus aqua vibe from it. If my local Tj Maxes had it I would have bought it a long while ago, but for the $26 Bucks it is selling for online I can see myself picking it up this year.

Cambridge Knight is a fruity spicy aquatic I don't get the Invictus comparisons it's not nearly as sweet. If you want a English Laundry dupe of Invictus try Throne. I get moderate performance 4-5 hours of longevity with about 2 hours projecting off the skin. Do not buy this at retail price. It can easily be found at US second chance retailers like Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls for sub $20 prices. I got my bottle for $13. It is well worth it for any price under $40 any price above I would choose a different fragrance.

I get the Invictus vibe, but both came to market at about the same time so not a clone to me. This is a sweet and fresh fragrance you can wear all year. This goes down the more modern path being a sweeter freshie. Performance is good won’t be to obnoxious and is a crowd pleaser. Look skin chemistry is different for most of us. And this does not smell old school 70’s-90’s powerhouse. And by the way some of those are ageless and even legendary. This is a great priced good smelling and decent performance product.

It's a nice fragrance, Charming and Velvety Aquatic. It opens up with like semi sweet creamy citrusy, fruity and green, floral notes in the background then dry down is musky woody. It's perfect for the spring, summer and fall. I like Cambridge knight EDP for Men by English Laundry. This is a linear perfume and Longevity is good. Rating : 7 / 10

Smells very good for the price. I'm sure that if you slap on a designer tag on it people would be inclined to pick it up. Performed relatively well on my skin, but the sillage was very weak. Overall, it's a good fragrance for someone who doesn't have much knowledge or big budget but wants to smell oceanic and metallic fresh.

Amazing fragrance, extra unique. The scent is about 85% Invictus Aqua + black current, but with much better longevity and projection. Cambridge Knight could easily be a signature scent that virtually no one is wearing. A fantastic buy! Scent: 9/10 Projection: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Price: 8/10 Compliment Factor: 9/10

So Excellent, FINALLY on fragrantica, it's creamy and sweet but not girly. Lasts for almost a week on my clothing, BEAST definitely, I can't spray more than 3 without choking. The black currant makes it very unique, gotta try this. By far my favorite of the english laundry frags.

People daying this lasts long are like the people that would tell you john Varvatos fragrances last all day This stuff smells amazing the performance and longevity are below avergae like way below average Ia projecta for 15 mins and after 1 hours you can barely smell this

It’s a more woody version of Mont Blanc legend sprit but it only last 3-4 hours on my skin and projects for about a hours it’s good if your going to a store or a gym scent I use it for being around the house.

Update - people are saying if you buy the loose bottles, no box, they are much weaker than the counter part of the ones that are boxed or in a gift set, so beware, I found this to be true too.

First bottle smelled great but the second bottle smells tainted, almost like garbage or feces was added to the batch. Will throw this out and grab a new bottle.

Not bad at all. Cheaper version of Montblanc Legend Spirit. However, weak performance.

#602 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I gave away "Notting Hill" and "Riviera" as both were barely scents. I threw "Arrogant" in the dumpster. It was too foul smelling to give away. But "Oxford Bleu" was a passable version of Eros EDT, which I already had and liked, so I kept it. I hesitated to go to the well again with this brand. One out of four is not exactly impressive performance, but I did it, and now I have a red bottle of "Invictus EDT." Yeah, this isn't an eau de parfum by anyone's standards. The Jomashop description of this was Cambridge Knight EDP Spray 3.4 oz, Cambridge Knight EDP Spray 0.68 oz, Cambridge Knight Shampoo/shower Gel 8.0 oz, In Gift Box. But they shipped a 3.8oz EDP and 3.8oz Aftershave (the aftershave is worthless), so beware. I would have preferred two bottles of the shower gel I think. Anyway, I've notified them to correct their listing, but you know how online retailer webmasters can be. Anyway, as to the scent. It's Invictus EDT. If you already have Invictus EDT don't waste your money. If you haven't already spent $55+ on Invictus, don't. There are multiple sources for Cambridge Knight at $30. The performance is just as good as Invictus EDT, i.e. not impressive, but if EDTs satisfy you at all, you'll be happy with this at $30. I was not happy to have spent $56.99 for Invictus to have it not make it to lunch. But I'm not really unhappy to have spent $32 for this. I just wouldn't do it again, same as I wouldn't buy Invictus EDT again.

I had this bottle that I have picked up at a discounter store for 12 dollars, fell in love with it when smelt it and had to buy it. As soon as I have left the store, I bathed myself in it in my car like literally around 10 sprays. Half an hour later I met my friend and asked if he could smell this cologne on me, he said no, like literally he couldn't smell it a half an arm away from me. I don't know how those reviewers get long lasting performance from it, on me it's gone in half an hour, barely even a skin scent, maybe it was reformulated or something. But I just gave it away because it was taking up space and there was no reason to even put it on myself as it will be gone as I exit the house. The friend whom I gave it away to actually seems to be getting longer performance, maybe skin chemistry, maybe he is heavier with sprays on clothes idk. The smell is really good though, for me this scent is one of the best I can possibly see myself wearing. It's just the performance that kills it for me.

Cambridge Knight opens with a slightly alcoholic, sweet, blue scent. It reminds me of the numerous other sweet, blue scents that have a strong "aquatic" feel to them conbined with fresh citrus/aromatic top notes and a resinous, sweet woody base note. At least on the first spray, I can't think of anything that really stands out or sets it apart from other freshies. I would say the scent gets a bit sweeter during dry down but doesn't really change all that much. I would say this is a pretty basic freshie/blue scent that doesn't really do anything all that interesting, not that there's anything bad about it. I would say it's slightly higher quality than the basic ones like Nautica Voyage. Overall, I give it a 6/10. It smells fine but it's just very basic and boring.

I remember smelling this a few years back at Macy's when they were actually sold at department stores and not rack stores. I smelled probably 6 of these at that time and this was my favorite. I couldn't bring myself to pay retail for it though. I having seen it pop up at the rack stores since then but if I do I will not hesitate to pull the trigger. Update: found it at Burlington for 15 bucks and snagged it. Then gave it away because it smells like bubble gum.

I really wanted to like this. I watched TLTG scents review of this & got really hyped up for it. I agree with what he says with the bubblegum vibe but it just doesn't agree with my DNA I guess. My skin just EATS this before it has a chance to mature. It has a really loud opening but it almost makes me queasy. I bought a second bottle because I figured maybe I got a weak batch but alas it was the same result. I wouldn't recommend it personally.

I have a small bottle of this from years ago and one spray will literally fill an entire large room with a blast of black currant. I see in a lot of the comments that longevity is a huge problem now. Seems like it's been reformulated and that's a shame because the bottle I have would be enough to perfume a small country. Seriously it's STRONG.

I've seen a lot of reviews of this and people really hyping it. I bought the 4 piece coffret set to try English Laundry's range. I don't get it. It smells kind of generic cologne smell to me. Like grandma went to Walgreens at Christmas and gave you a cologne in a gift set generic. The scent was okay. It lasted like 15 minutes and was done.

WEAK. Just buy the real Invictus. You will be much happier.

People like to fawn over frags, and try to hype frags that other people may not yet know of. However, in my opinion, this frag smells very cheap, simplistic and synthetic. There is an unpleasant, chemically sharpness to it. There's a reason why it's going for $15 at TJ Maxx. Because it's a $15 scent, and smells like one. I bought a 20 ml bottle of this some time ago, and found it to be a waste of money. It doesn't really smell like the listed notes on here, either, and not because it's "masterfully blended." I ended up including the 20 ml bottle as a freebie during a trade. YouTubers who are either compensated by ScentBird, or who are trying to gain views by reviewing the latest hype train are the main ones pushing this stuff. Don't fall for it.
