Tahitian Waters

Let me first say this, while SOME of the English Laundry fragrances seem to be less than original (Oxford Bleu is in my opinion a better version of Versace Eros and Arrogant/Signature is a better version of JPG Le Male although not entirely similar), they do hit the mark on scent and performance. I mean, seriously hit the mark. I'm not sure why this house hasn't dominated this community. Every one of their frags I wear get positively noticed and have that sought after power. The added bonus is that they have several very original machinations that hit all these marks (If Cambridge Knight and Windsor were on Fragrantica, they would easily be in my favorite frags). As an aside, it comes in a wooden magnetized box lined with velvet with an equally elegant/sophisticated bottle. I swear to Christ I'm not paid for this review. I digress. Tahitian Waters, to me, is one of their originals. I have not yet had the opportunity to test Creed's VIW, though I'm sure it's very good. If the case that TW is a clone of it is true, I would prefer to spend a lot less and get a wholly excellent fragrance. This house never ceases to amaze me with their use of musky notes, which I am not a fan of if used improperly. In this one, it is clearly there, no getting around it (despite not being on the pyramid or even on their website). Though, it's an acceptable and crucial part of the overall scent. It fades after a long while (unlike their masterpiece "Cambridge Knight" which puts it's business up front) but is mixed seamlessly with it's fruity nuances and a hint of coconut. After awhile, the floral aspects of it mix with the musk and the fruitiness subsides but doesn't disappear. This is where the sugary/woody aspects come in to round it out at the 10+ hour mark. Again, you're not going to find a singular house that has this many home runs and I'm not sure why this one isn't a community favorite. Tahitian Waters is delectable and versatile. Powerful but not offensive. Unique but not fringe. Any season, any age group, any occasion. I just can't find much to dislike about it.

Reminisce about Summer... For two consecutive days, I have chosen fragrances by English Laundry – yesterday, it was Arrogant and today, Tahitian Waters... This line is very underrated in the fragrance industry and Tahitian Waters is a Summer gem... TW is an EDP that is a beautiful composition of floral, fruity, and woodsy notes with a coconut finish. The end result is an extraordinary fragrance that leaves the user breathing in the air around them most of the day. There is much discussion and comparison to Creed’s Virgin Island Water, and yes there is a bit of shared DNA, but each has its own identity and both are great fragrances. Creed is my favorite fragrance line and in a class all by itself, but I will add that English Laundry (and Tahitian Waters) deserve credit and offer a great alternative. Given TW is an EDP, I got rock-star performance today, lasting 8+ hours on me, even longer on clothing, all at greater than arm’s length distance projection/sillage. While geared more for Spring and Summer wear, TW can easily be worn (occasionally) to remind the user of the past Summer or a time spent in the South Pacific relaxing in a hammock under the shade of palm trees, and sipping on a sun downer. In my opinion, TW is best suited for day wear and for more casual outdoorsy events – I did modestly apply TW this morning prior to going into an office environment – it worked well, but be “easy on the trigger”... Presentation of any English Laundry Fragrance is first class and matched by few designer fragrances. Finally, TW has been discontinued, and thus, a little more challenging to find. As a result, the price is going up. – sometimes, I get frustrated with the laws of supply and demand..!! All said, my final tally of Tahitian Waters is 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. If you can find it, this fragrance is definitely worth adding to your collection. Whether you use it as a go-to Summer fragrance, or to reminisce about a favorite memory, you will not be disappointed adding TW to your collection. Enjoy your day and happy fragrance hunting...

Back in its release date, this fragrance was goin for $85, give or take. I ran into a few bottles at Marshall's priced at $12, red tag, I immediately grabbed it, sprayed some on my hand, and walked around the store browsin stuff. A nice old lady across from where I'm siftin through t-shirts looks up and says, "Whoever is wearing that fragrance, smells very good, I feel like going to the beach". The openin is citrusy, fresh, I'm not gonna say your generic words of "sMeLLs LikE soMeOne pEeLing a LiMe iN fRONt Of yOu" but it does give off a nice sweet lime openin. The dry down is where's it's at, sweet coconut smell, no sunblock or tannin type of coconut here, no sir. It's sweet creamy, with the lime subtly in the background lettin you know it's still there, present, and they both stick with you, on your skin, while the brown sugar, and soft floral scents show up at the end to say their goodbye after a nice 6hrs. Bottom line, it's it a magnificent scent? Absolutely, does it compare to Creeds VIW? No, but it's its own fragrance, not to be compared, but to be enjoyed in those nice spring/summer days.

I always forget I have this. Today I put it on and was pleasantly reminded of what a walloping good scent this is with no equal. Easily the best in the English Laundry line up and most unique. Brown sugar and smooth lime (bodied out by ylang ylang not that you smell ylang ylang per se) giving a syrupy but fresh rum vibe a bit of fresh green somewhere somehow just on top so as not making it cloying and coconut cream at just the right amount to let you know it’s a tropical version. Strong in longevity, Sillage won’t fill a room thanks to the type of notes but yet it’s still strong so in a lift or car People will smell the whole gamut of notes clearly and be transported away. It’s a super great performer if you want to be intimate with someone or cuddling at the movies. It’s just simply one of those scents that has a specific scent bubble delineation so when you cross the boundary it’s all you can smell with out being overwhelmed. Great value for the price and punching way above its weight.

AMAZING AND FRESH - TAKES ME TO A BEACH IN TAHITI WHILST SIPPING A LIME MOJITO!!! - YUMM - MMEE! Brown sugar syrup - a pinch of lime (keeps it fresh) and coconut !!! I don't get any comparisons to Creed Aventus - at all - full stop. VIW, I do get but ironically I find this last longer with a rummy feel. I don't get why people make it complicated! Reeks of quality but not overpowering, decent projection for a few hours - I don't getting bagging English Laundry either. I find their scents to be good quality though not exceptional enough to be at the top. Last 3 - 6 hours. From a distance someone may sniff a subtle sunscreen but up close when they realise its you and smell you - they'll go "oh, wow" This one though, its a winner, my first try struck me as different and on the second try I realised it was a keeper especially for a personal pick me up when I need it or a change of pace. If a tropical change is what you need grab it I promise you won't be disappointed.

This one right here is just sooo good. I picked it up for a low $12.99 price tag for a full 3.4oz bottle at my local Marshalls. I knew it was going to be great without even smelling it because so far out of all the ones I have from this brand, there isn't one I haven't liked. This is the perfect summer time fragrance, maybe even good for late spring. The fragrance has a really nice bright opening with all the citrus and coconut up top, and even though there's coconut, it's not like that super sweet candy coconut smell. The florals through the middle give the fragrance a nice balance and the woodsy finish on it gives it a great warmth in the end.

Tried this through Birch Box and loved it, though it did fade fast. I often don't look at the notes before I've worn a fragrance a while, and I could clearly identify the coconut on my own. I had an image of lounging on a breezy tropical beach while enjoying fruit punch and coconut cake. So like they say, it's a sweet, fruity gourmand. However, I didn't detect floral notes or much cedar. The brown sugar note is nice and continues the sweetness, but by the dry down, this has become a skin scent. I found this fairly smooth, fresh and pretty unisex. If I can find a bottle, I might buy it, keeping in mind I might have to reapply often.

This fragrance is really really good. The only issue is that I dont know if this is authentic or not. The box it came in looks like the real box and the scent lasts a lot longer than I would think a fake fragrance would last. Also, in some reviews on youtube, you can see the juice in the bottle and mine is completely opaque so I dont know if its just a different batch or what. Anyway the fragrance in this bottle is quite good. I do get a tropical vibe to this fragrance. It smells alot like ST KITTS by Tommy Bahama which is a real nice fragrance.. So overall this is a solid offering from English Laundry. Rating 8.5/10

Very Good Scent. Very unique along the lines of Creed Aventus. Not saying its on that level but in uniqueness, its very good. Some of English Laundry's fragrances are a true bargain on the Market. One thing i noticed is that this is listed as a women's perfume on this site when it is listed at dillards men's department. It's a powdery fragrance. I ended up buying a set. I also like Riviera by the same manufacture. A surprise find.

I LOVE this scent. I rarely wear it because it doesn't fit the bill for a lot of occasions. I'd consider this a niche scent. It's like a creamy coconut aquatic smell to me BUT in a good way 😅 Imagine enjoying an evening out with friends on a patio surf & turf bar in the Florida Keys after an eventful day. Sitting next to a beautiful woman wearing a bikini shawl with your hand on her thigh. This has that kind of vibe!

Layer this with Set Sail St. Barts by Tommy Bahama and whiff a vacation classic in the making. The two compliment each other well. Time to go on a cruise!

Why all the high ratings? Employees o' English Laundry? LOL I think people must only like it for the name. I mean, 'Tahitian Waters' does sound like a nightclub performer. Meanwhile, never heard of this brand...kept seeing/keep seeing massive as f boxes of EL scents at Winners, Marshalls..and (they never had alarm tags on 'em, so that should've been my first clue, lol) but then saw a shirt in 'The Bay' that said English Laundry(odd, since they don't carry EL colognes) I gave in, and bought this and Windsor(haven't opened that yet). Each cost $19.99. I should've known that besides lacking an alarm-box like all of the other scents this would suck due to the water content, the fact it was made in the usa(a KNOWN sign of weak, watery waste). So, this, despite smelling nice, does so for a nanosecond. You legit are paying for the massive fuzzy-lined box, and heavy-as-hell metal bottle itself(annoyingly weighty, as the scent isn't, so unless u have an atomizer, good luck making this carry) Saw later on EL's website they sell this tahitian tap water for $80.00! INSANE ++. Smells like dollar-store rubbish. I don't pick up brown sugar or coconut or orange, and I don't have a cold. Maybe smells like a diluted mini-minty lemon flat soda in a Pier One Imports store. $19.99 was too much! LOL-ish. I put dislike, which may elevate to like(but never love) sometime, 'cause it isn't an off-putting smell, just annoyingly poor projection, sillage, longevity, =all! lol Whomever said this smells like Aventus or Sunset Voyage is fully clogged btw, lol.

English Laundry Tahitian Waters is an example of a fresh fruity citrus fragrance that embodies a cocktail while still being dignified enough to be enjoyed by serious people. Lime is the leader of a citrus opening with bergamot and orange, but also the playful coconut, the whole quartet transporting me to a tropic island. It dries down a floral mix of jasmine and ylang ylang that is not so strong but nevertheless adds hints of sophistication and restraint to that which began playful and fruity. The base of brown sugar and cedar adds both sweetness and a staunch woody smoothness, a great place for the plane to land. Tahitian Waters is a nice, casual warm-weather offering that can work for men and women, young and old alike. It's a versatile player that's a decent performer but certainly nothing boastful. Pricing-wise, it's available online in varying discounted prices (i.e. $28 for 50ml on FragranceNet), but as with English Laundry fragrances, it's said to appear in US discount stores (TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Burlington Coat Factory) for a lot less (under $20 for 100ml), so for that amount, it's a great deal to be had for a fruity fresh cocktail fragrance, of which Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts is another great example. Tahitian Waters will be a welcome addition to my collection at that price. 7 out of 10

At first this seemed like a generic aquatic with decent quality, projection and silage. I gave it a little time and it evokes a sense of the tropic. Maybe it is some well-blended coconut, but I am not sure. This is one of the few aquatics IMO that have pulled of a sweet accent to the fragrance successfully. IMO this is unisex and would be beautiful on a women. There is no seaweed, mineral or cucumber accord here. 5 to 7 hours longevity and fair projection. At discounted prices this is a 5 out of 5 and I have never encountered anything like it. It really grows on you. IMO If Invictus for her existed, this would be a improved version. After reading others reveiws, This is nothing like aventus and wasn't inspired or an attempt to replicate it. There is no smokey Birch, Pineapple or Ambergris here. I do think this is a great designer attempt to create Creed Virgin Island Water , but you can tell the quality isn't as good, but the blend or construction is done better by Tahitian waters in my opinion.

This isn't a bad cheapie.... Give it some time to dry down and don't be afraid to go heavy... For me, this is one you don't really want to bury your face into the area you sprayed and take a big whiff... The sillage that it gives off is much nicer and has made this scent grow on me. Nothing spectacular - But a very nice Summer fragrance that could be used from the office to the beach/pool/boat to a Summer night out and so on. For me, the first 1-2 hours this performs well, easily pick it up. Does get closer to the skin after a few hours but still sticks around. Its not an overload of coconut at all... Its actually used well in TW. Synthetic, of course... But whatever, its pleasant enough. The florals and brown sugar work well with the touch of woods in the base. Again, this is a price point type scent. If it was anything over $20... No way. But for $10 - $15, its a decent cheapie. Personally, I enjoy TB St. Kitts / St. Barts better or even Cremo Silver Water & Birch... But, this is not bad.

Unique, fresh, almost blue, fruity, sweet and a marine-cedar scent. The brown sugar, coconut and cedar become dominant on the drydown. I was very surprised by how this smelled somewhat generic yet refined all at once. It's a light scented yet long lasting fragrance too. It's hard to find a good cedar scent I enjoy casually and this just so happened to be that bottle of cedar. The notes are well balanced compared to most of it's kind. Masculine, clean, simple, office safe and gentlemanly. Edit: later I have come to realize that this bottle has an artistic meaning to the layers, much like a painting, tho none of it was mention/ spoken of. Especially the dry down of coconut, brown sugar & cedar reminded me that the perfumer just might be trying to depict an image of palm tree, which means the rest of the notes could be attempting to structure an "island landscape" figure which I thought was intresting.

I gotta disagree with the masses and their reviews on this one. I rather enjoy this one. From the opening to the end. I’m not sure where the Armaf hunter comparison come from because I have 2 bottles of that stuff and those are almost a complete clone of Lacoste White, and this smells absolutely 100% not like that scent.. Sometimes the comparisons that some say are so far off that it must set some people up for some serious disappointment. The best way I can describe this scent is that is an aquatic that has a creamy note to it. I also like the citrus in this one and the coconut I think is responsible for the creamy part of this. I also feel like the florals in this add another layer of an aromatic component to this. Would I buy this again? No.. but I will have no problems using the rest of this juice up. This get a 6/10 for me, and that’s an above average score.

This is a nice light summer fragrance...the way I see it, if someone paid $300-$400 for Virgin Islands Water, then Tahitian waters is not similier, cause that would mean someone paid $20 to smell like someone who paid $300+...so of course they can't have that..lol. (same applies to avantus and their clones) either way it's a nice summer scent. There is room in this world for all kinds of fragrances. Most of English Laundry scents are similier to popular mainstream scents. Ie. Windsor = spicebomb..Notting Hill = Sauvage..singnature/arrogant = le male..Oxford blue = Versace Eeros. Maybe their not exact, but very close. I enjoy them, especially at the price point of $20 at winners. So really how can u go wrong. Plus being they have beautiful bottles and packaging. Now EL royal Aqua is disgusting, that's only one I regret buying.

This does have similar is Creed virgin Island water in composition and smell. If you cannot smell or detect either of those your nose should be checked. You get a smooth, softly sweet fragrances with hint of aquatics,brown sugar, and coconut It last about 6 hours on me, but does better in the sun and has weak projection overall , but fair sillage Perfect for a summer days,warm vacations and everyday casual wear. One of the best inoffensive, yet likable subtle fragrances you can find. You will not offend anyone with this and you get a beachy feel. I know of nothing like it in the designer world 5 out 5 at discounted prices way better than starwalker

I too throw my hat into the "love" ring with this fragrance. I agree, this is NOT a VIW clone. Please don't buy it thinking that it will be one. It does have the same vibe though, and, as one reviewer mentioned, there is certainly room for both in anyone's collection. Do buy it if you would like a scent that is light and fresh without being aquatic or citric. Outstanding longevity which is a pleasant surprise given how inexpensive this was. All around a good buy.

It's a nice scent, Tropical, Bright, Refreshing and Unique. The Performance is poor , because it's EDP, overall, it smells so good and very pleasant with reasonable price ! It opens up with like fresh citrusy and floral notes in the background then dry down is woody. I must tell you honestly that this perfume is not Gourmand. This is perfect for the spring and summer and l like Tahitian Waters EDP for Men by English Laundry. Rating : 7.5 / 10

Was gifted this recently. Haven't gave it enough of a chance just yet, first sprays are very floral, I find it somewhat headache inducing, despite this I kind of like it and will continue giving it a shot. It reminds me of something I've smelled before but I can't remember what exactly.

Smells like coconut WATER not the actual flesh With some added citrus and a bit Woody. Doesn't smell tropical as you would think.

I recently got this after having smelled it over a year ago and liking it. The thing is, I don't remember it smelling like this. I remember it being more tropical, but I'm only getting a little of that from this bottle. It's not bad, just no coconut whatsoever. It actually smells a bit similar to Bentley for men Black Edition: pronounced florals with some citrus and woods. (Not the same scent, just a similar style) I need to give it a few more wears to get a better feel for it, but I could've sworn it had a distinct coconut vibe before. Either way, it’s a pleasant scent for warm weather that you can get for a great price.

I got this from Burlington for $15. Eh...yes, synthetic, generic. You've smelled this before. Dumb reach freshie with light musk, a bit mature. Nothing sweet that I can pick up. The more I smell it, I get reminded of Abercrombie and Fitch First Instinct Extreme but much much MUCH more tame. You can use this for running a quick errand or the gym. I'm sure I'll be culling this from my collection in the future. But in the meantime, I'll give it a few wearings.

I like the smell of this fragrance although very synthetic. The initial spray is lovely and refreshing, the main reason I purchased a bottle. In addition the price tag is super low like all English Laundry frags . Although a good scent it evaporates quickly giving you a faint smell. I found myself spraying countless times to achieve that initial experience. Due to having a substantial amount of other frags on my summer rotation I sold this frag to someone.

Well eventually, it was bound to happen. Mkpunk finding an English Laundry release that he didn't like. I would wonder if I didn't like tropical scents but then I remember I do like Tommy Bahamas Set Sails St. Barts and Tommy Hilfiger Tommy Weekend Getaway. Tahiti Island Dream is passable on my skin though it is noticeably feminine. Tahitian Waters just smells foul on my skin. The most powerful note to me is the bozey brown sugar note. It gives off a near alcoholic vibe but it just don't agree with my skin and smells a bit foul. I tried wearing it just yesterday for a Hawaii themed day at work and honestly, even after the initial spray, I was like man, did I make a mistake. I think that is the coconut note, but I'm not sure. The citruses in the open smell a little bit like Riviera's after that harsh first act which is a good thing. I love the creamy citrus in Riviera. However it goes in an entirely different direction as it goes floral with some ylang-lang and jasmine in the mid. But it isn't long until the brown sugar note seeps in from the base. The brown sugar is the main note from the base as the wood to me is barely there. Tahitian Waters is a decent performer though at best I think I can only get 7 hours from it. Unlike most English Laundry release from the four others I've tried, the fragrance just don't promote itself with sillage. Even my eh-reliable Oxford Bleu decant does a better job. Tahitian Waters I think is a fall and spring scent. I don't see the brown sugar note on me working too well in summer and I see this being token citrus and floral notes not working too well for winter either. That said I think it works best in casual events and even work. English Laundry Tahitian Waters is my least liked English Laundry release. I actually kind of sorta regret buying it and it shows that sometimes you should pass up a blind buy even for a great deal sometimes. I found it in Ross and they want a quarter of what FragranceX wants for it and on eBay it is half that. I rate Tahitian Waters a 6.0. I can't believe I rated an English Laundry scent that low but I did.

Disappointed. Finally got my nose on this one at a bargin discounter today, and was sorley let down after several years of anticipation. What you're getting here is a slightly sweet, brown sugared hair spray vibe. Almost Jovan muskey in a way. There's good cheap, and then there's bad cheap. This offering is the latter. Skip Tahitian Waters if you've been on the fence. You're not missing anything worth your time. By the way...would the jack wagon who keeps voting that everything smells like Blu De Chanel, please stand up? This thing isn't even in the same solar system. I guess Covid-19 has killed someone's sense of smell.

I dont know who keeps trying to hype up English Laundry fragrances but they need to stop. The whole line is a cheap synthetic mess. Theres nothing good about their fragrances and Tahitian Waters is no different. Opens up with a metallic piney smell. The notes are blended so poorly and after awhile it doesnt even smell like a fragrance, it jsut developes into a synthetic awful mess.

I'm surprised no one in the fragrance community has mentioned the similarities with Tahitian Waters and Creed Virgin Island Water. I recommend layering Tahitian Waters with Set Sail St. Barts for a superior scent combination.

Its a cheap synthetic awful mess, just like everything else from English Laundry. Price is right at 15 bucks I suppose. I cant even tell any notes all I get is a really cheap perfumers alcohol smell

It's fine if you literally have no other fragrances to choose from but a pass for me (even at $12.99 for 100ml). Fun name and bottle, but the actual scent is cheap, synthetic, generic, Axe-like.

There is something very off with this one, I get lots of lime, some coconut and something "off" is all I can say. Even as a cheapie there are much better fragrances in this style.

I must have a bad bottle. I get a bug spray vibe with dirty florals.

Terrible nothing like VIW burnt wood smell not flattening or tolerable

I have waited so long to repurchase. This is a great fragrance.. after the initial blast. Also after about 30 minutes. I find it very thick and almost powdery, floral, with a semi tropical feel and not my cup in the opening and before it begins to dry down. A kind of weird off putting dated smell. Strangely heavy and “warm” for a fragrance named Tahitian Waters. I purchased this almost two years ago and returned it since it ended up smelling like only cedar after a while. Back then the opening was amazing. Lime and coconut, one of the best openings I’ve ever smelled. Totally different take on it now. This smells great. I really like it. Clean, fresh, and great for spring summer. It has a sweetness to it that really adds some playfulness, but doesn’t take away from the clean feel. On the mid to late dry down it really has its own character, and is not redundant at all in my collection. Could be called Tahitian Laundry. It has something that makes it very likable but not your typical men’s freshie to my nose which is great. I’m not sure what accord I’m picking up, but it makes this juice interesting. It reminds me a bit of the brand Clean, which I’ve seen at Kohl’s and whatnot. I would say this is similar, but done bunch better. I do like fresh laundry scents and this is a more sophisticated version of any I’ve smelled. On a side note I picked this up at TJ Maxx, unboxed. There was another bottle of Tahitian Waters next to it. I did one on left the other on the right. The one on my right (I bought) is the one I’m reviewing. The one on my left was horrible. Really, really bad. Smelled soured. No longevity, no projection, and had a smell that I couldn’t tell what it was. Almost not even a fragrance. The bottle had more rounded corners and a plastic cap. The logo thicker with less detail. The atomizer was different as well. It’s dry down is tolerable, but so light (three sprays) that I can barely smell it. Just a heads up if you are deep discount shopping. Ages are college and up, spring summer, day to night leaning day, possibly a evening out juice or a white tee and jeans club scent. I would say it’s not a mature scent, but not a juvenile scent either. I think it’ll get compliments, and it’s pretty non offensive. Maybe a work scent, but not a formal juice imo. I’ll be keeping this bad boy for casual days and nights in the warmer months. I’m guessing there was a reform since I last smelled it since there’s very little lime or coconut in the opening of this one. Despite it not having that mind blowing opening I remember I am very happy with this one. At $12.99 it’s a no brainer for guys like me. Overall.. great juice.

I own every English Laundry fragrance. I'm 50/50 on this house. The scents are either really unique and special (Signature) or just old fragrances brought back into EDP concentrations (Knotting Hill). All of their juices are strong, long lasting and project without offending. Here is my impression about Tahitian Waters. Upon first spray things look really positive. Fresh, vibrant, musky, not too sweet, not too fruity or tropical--unique and just really nice smelling. But, just a minute after it hits the skin it starts developing into something else. What many people are saying is a burnt, synthetically cheap or smoky note is actually a cumin note coming out and combining with brown sugar. Unfortunately, it is the body odor type cumin and it mixes with the strong brown sugar and coconut shell accords to create something that just smells off. Not fresh like you would except from the product name. There is no pineapple or fresh coconut in this, so the guys that sensed Creed Aventis and Creed VIW needs to get off the crack. The fragrance is not in the same realm scent wise. The coconut is rather a nutty, creamy coconut, like smelling the shell itself. Not like suntan lotion. While the fragrance never gets too sweet, it is rather dark...like burnt brown sugar or caramel. There is very little citrus that hangs around and just a bit of white and pink floral. That is about as 'tropical' as you get with this. All in all, the result is a slightly middle eastern smelling musk that leans on the sweet nutty side. Just too weird for me. if not for the damn cumin note (not listed which baffles my mind) this could be great.

First, there is nothing about this fragrance that feels tropical to me. On my skin, it is dry and Woody, faintly floral, and I barely get any fruity notes. I detect a hint of coconut, but it's much more like a dried or toasted coconut. Overall, it feels quite warm actually. I can see this being perfect for slightly cooler summer evening. While it doesn't feel tropical or 'beachy', it makes me instantly think of traveling. It conjures up images for me of freshly oiled teakwood decks surrounding sparkling Cerulean pools, luxury goods at expensive duty-free shops, cedar planks used for grilling seafood over open flames, and the slightly salty air of a crowded outdoor patio bar overlooking the Pacific somewhere. If you're looking for a light, beachy summer scent, this is probably not the one. It feels refined and classy, probably best suited for guys in their mid thirties and above. Make no mistake, this is high quality juice and for the $14.99 that I paid for it, it's almost unbelievable. I would pay 10 times the amount that I did for a fragrance this good. Just as an aside, I have sampled Creed's Virgin Island water on several occasions and it smells nothing like this. Nor does this smell anything like Aventus. Out of the 200+ scents in my collection, this is honestly one of the most unique. The one fragrance that find it comprable to is the Sunset Voyage flanker that Nautica released about 10 years ago. If you see it, just pick it up. If you don't like it somebody else in your life probably will and they'll thank you for it.

After reading a few reviews here, I braced myself for a bottle of bug spray—but I must’ve gotten a good batch, because my Tahitian Waters smells nothing like citronella or mosquito repellent. Right from the first spray, it opens with a bright citrus blast—you get the lime and bergamot right away, giving it a crisp, zesty punch. The opening is harsh, no doubt—it hits pretty sharp and abrupt at first—but the gold is in the come down. There’s a sweetness from the orange tucked in behind it, rounding things out nicely once it settles. Now, I don’t really pick up the coconut that’s listed in the notes—at least not in the creamy, suntan-lotion type of way some people might expect. Instead, this fragrance gives me a vibe that’s more like a freshly washed white T-shirt drying in the sun. Clean, breezy, effortless. Think fresh without being soapy or powdery. The ylang-ylang and jasmine stay subtle in the background, adding a little smoothness without turning it floral. It’s more about clarity and brightness than depth or complexity—and that’s not a bad thing here. Performance on my skin is pretty solid for a citrus-heavy scent. It gives me around 4–6 hours before it fades into a soft skin scent, but it lingers nicely on clothes for longer. If you’re looking for a summer fragrance that doesn’t lean into heavy marine notes or fake tropical sweetness, this is a solid clean option. I’d recommend trying it for yourself—don’t let the citronella comments scare you off.

I know it's classified as having citrus notes, but truthfully it's got more of a banana and coconut aroma to it, giving it a very tropical and refreshing feel. The drydown is interesting, falling to a pleasant light and fresh musk and what I can only describe as baked cookies. This is a really unique entry for the line. The major weakness of this cologne is its poor performance. English Laundry colognes are already notorious for poor performance overall, but unfortunately Tahitian Waters really takes the cake here. It fades away practically immediately and performs the weakest by far of all my English Laundry colognes. It requires massive overspraying and respraying throughout the day just to get a moderately decent level of performance. Easy enough to replenish, though, given its extremely affordable price point. So don't be afraid to go all out with this, it's truly impossible to overuse it. This is great for the warmer seasons, during all outdoor and indoor activities except non-festive formal ones. Very good for ages 40 and under. Not good for older men.

The notes listed here do not match the notes listed on the English Laundry website. According to their website: Top notes are grapefruit, mandarin, and mint leaf. Mid notes are jasmine and lily. Base notes are amber, patchouli, and cedarwood. Usually "cedarwood" means it has iso E super, just as "Florentine" is a code word for spinach. No exception here, but iso E super works for me! The English Laundry website doesn't list the notes I experience, and neither does Fragrantica completely. Definitely lime and other citrus with a tinge of mint as the opening blast. Then an original blend of ylang-ylang and sugar followed by that ham note that I get from lily. Tahitian Waters does not remind me of anything else, certainly not Aventus. The lily, amber, and ylang make an oddball freshness. Zero coconut. Clean in a fresh laundry way, like sundried sheets. Layers well with Bobbi Brown Beach or EL Bronze Goddess. Despite the "water" in its name, this is not light. One spray suffices. Recommended for casual or summer wear. The quality is obvious from the scent, yet I still wanted to mention that the bottle and presentation are rather nice. Not discontinued as of January 2018; check their website.

First time i heard about this House of perfumes English Laundry and today i was testing perfume that is not on the list English Laundry 'Cambridge Knight' and i was shocked how good they are and longevity on my dry skin plus after washing my hands,but smell around me like no other fragrances does, the price is only $25 for 100ml i had to buy it and i own it...If you search on google English Laundry 'Cambridge Knight' perfume you'll see the red bottle with golden cap that is the one i m talking about,EDP version... Cambridge Knight is a warm, velvety scent made to suit the sophisticated business man. It's crafted to envelop the wearer in aromatic excellence. The sensual blend opens with notes of grapefruit, blackcurrant and musk and slowly unfolds to reveal notes of jasmine, bay leaf and guaiac wood before finishing with cedar, oakmoss and patchouli. It will take you on the perfectly effortless journey from morning until night. Notes: grapefruit, blackcurrant, musk, jasmine, bay leaf, guaiac wood, cedar, oakmoss, patchouli. This is nothing like "Virgin Island Water" and I don't get any coconut if there is any. This is a brilliant fragrance that does contain synthetic ingredients which makes it a very long lasting scent. It starts of strong and then 30 minutes later, it calms down to a fabulous soapy (Camay, Palmolive) type of fresh scent and is lasts all day long. This is very well blended. It is spring/summer scent and when the weather gets hot with high humidity, this goes to work on your skin so much. You will always feel fresh & clean and also smell fresh & clean. This is going to get a lot of wear during these summer days & I have acquired 2 x extra back up bottles just in case it ever gets discontinued or reformulated. Thanks you English Laundry, for a great summer fragrance that does work great. EDIT: After wearing this a few times, it reminds me of "Wood & Spices" by Montale. 90% similar, so if you own this, there is no need to acquire Wood & Spices.

Wasn't too sure about this one--still trying to decide if I like it on my second wearing, but definitely starting to think it could be brilliant. I own most of the English Laundry fragrances and love them. Tahitian Waters is not what I expected but very different in a good way. I get strong lime zest with a touch of floral and cedar. The coconut is extremely subdued to my nose, as is the brown sugar. Others EL fragrances like Cambridge Knight, Riviera and Oxford Bleu are much sweeter. I'll probably have to revisit this later--but it's a very intriguing scent. Never smelled anything like it, and it's growing on me for sure. I can see what the reviewer below meant about a hint of an old man vibe, but I'm not getting the cumin smell others mentioned. All in all, I don't think I'd buy this at full retail, but if you can get it for under $30 it's worth a shot!

I also scored this at Burlington for $13... well worth every penny, and then some. It is a beautiful tropical woody, citrusy scent with just a hint of natural coconut (not the sweet suntan lotion type coconut). I am reminded of having drinks on a beautiful terrace full of tropical flowers, overlooking the sea in the late afternoon. The scent is very similar to Tommy Bahama St. Barts, and actually layers beautifully with that perfume. To my nose, strength and sillage is low. But it lasts for a long time as a skin scent, and when layered with St. Barts it projects a whole lot more. It is a perfect summer frag. The presentation is wonderful, a lovely chromed bottle with blue print which comes in a magnetically closing box which also has a chrome and blue theme. If you find it, just get it, and be transported to the islands if only for a moment..

Count me as a fan. No this does not smell like virgin island water and it sure as hell smells nothing like aventus. That said TW is a an excellent summer fragrance that projects and lasts a long time. Sweet opening that gets reigned in a bit by the musk but you're getting florals, fruit, lime and coconut. Subtle coconut as others have said. I really enjoy the brown sugar in this, i think if they went with sugar cane itself this could have been better. The woody, fibrous nuances of sugar cane would have given more depth. I get a lot of compliments when wearing this and i love i dont have to re-apply. English laundry is a nice little fragrance house that has some nice fragrances, with Windsor being a masterpiece. As long as i can still find it, this will be in my summer rotation.
